In East Oakland, the Black Cultural Zone’s recurring market blends farm stands, student-grown produce from Castlemont Farms, and Black-owned vendors with live arts programming. It’s covered by local press and community groups for creating a welcoming, hyper-local marketplace on the flatlands.
This event at the park was fantastic. Fashion show and free food and drinks. The Black cultural zone people really know how to throw an event. Free roller skating for all. Will keep in touch for other events. CLASS ACT!!

Morning dancers synchronize to songs played through hidden speakers in the gingko trees. The 1952 Soviet-style fountain's pumps still use original German bearings. Couples whisper on benches where carved initials date back to the park's opening.
