Yelp
Decided it was time to find a new Chinese food delivery place for those times when pants are just too much work and you just "don't want to
even" in life. I'm almost to the point some days where I wish they'd not just deliver but also come in, set the food up, bring me a plate, feed me, then put it all away as well, but alas...I don't think that's been focus-grouped yet, so I'll have to wait a bit longer for everyone to get that lazy too.
I don't do Doordash, Uber Eats, or any other third party vendor for food. I prefer to know my food wasn't in the hands of anyone else but the restaurant, and if I get shorted a crab rangoon I don't want to have to go all Sherlock Holmes on it, trying to question whether it was a restaurant oversight or a very hungry college kid that was just trying to pay for an extra credit or something. It's too tiring. So I went online and saw that I could order straight on the website without any additional charges, which for my lazy state was quite appealing, as I always feel like I'm the worst speaking English dialect ever when I call Chinese restaurants (or get my nails did) thanks to them asking over and over again "you want whaaaa? Cinnamon Rice?" No. I wanted extra spice, but thumbs up for offering cinnamon rice because now I'm into it.
So I ordered online. I got Tokyo chicken, which is described as crispy chicken tossed in a dark spicy sauce with bell peppers and onions. I was even able to click an extra crispy and extra spicy button. Kudos for this place getting the memo that I want to be as anti-social as possible when I order food. There was a starch option, as the meals come with rice, and there was an option to change the rice to pad thai noodles, which for an additional $5 I expected to be like I get anywhere else...Rice noodles tossed with egg, bean sprout and topped with peanuts.
The food came super quick. It was barely 25 minutes and it was here, and the delivery driver didn't bat an eye when I opened the door in my "it's Sunday and I don't do people" attire. I signed, tipped and it was just me and my food. Score! The chicken dish was nice and spicy without burning your taste buds. I actually added a little sriracha as I'm trying to kill all my mouth nerves. The only downfall with the entire meal was those noodles: For an upcharge of five bucks, I got a container of flat noodles with no veggies or anything. Apparently they do a flat noodle pad thai, which is fine, but again...$5 is a bit much to charge for plain noodles as a side. They were cooked but I had to add soy and hot sauce to get any flavor, but they'd be great for kids who just don't care.
Other than the noodle incident, the food was excellent. I also got a small wonton soup, as that's my jam and it was very good. I loved the wonton and the broth was chicken based and very nicely done. I highly recommend this joint for not only IDGAF weekends but week days when pants are mandatory as well. While we do have plenty of Chinese places, it's hard to find one that does food justice and I'm happy to say this place knows how to bring the flavor.
