The Best Places to Eat and Drink in NYC This Summer

"A Yonkers luncheonette-style spot a short walk from the train station that serves hefty pambazos: soft, cheese-sprinkled bread grilled and soaked in fruity, smoky guajillo sauce then filled with tender potatoes, chunks of sausage, lettuce, queso fresco, and crema for a saucy, comforting sandwich." - Alan Sytsma, Beth Sacca

So I’ve come here twice. The taste is a hit or miss. The owners are very nice and they maintain the restaurant very clean. But over all I think that they are a hit or miss. You can get your chance to have delicious food or have terrible food. The last time I was here I had tostadas de pollo and another type of meat.

Cafe Poblano is a diamond in the rough. It's a hole in the wall spot that serves tacos, mexican food and a few authentic foods that you can't get anywhere else. The totas and cemitas (mexican sandwiches) are great as well as the tacos. If you are feeling adventurous, try the Pambazo, its street food from Mexico City and it's basically a torta bread loaf, dredged in guajillo sauce and cooked on the grill, filled with potatos and chorizo. It's a meal by itself, but make sure you take it to go because you might need to clean up after and they don't have a bathroom!

These are the best nachos around. They are pricy but definitely worth it. I wish they offered a 1/2 size option for like $8.00

You can tell when someone takes pride in the food they serve. Can't beat fresh homemade cooking. I go there whenever im in the neighbourhood and the food and service is always excellent. I usually get a special or whatever the chef recommends and never been disappointed. Always look forward to it.
