There is always some sort of celebration taking place here when I dine in. The food is good if you know what to look for. In terms of nigiri, sashimi, sushi and steak. At times the crab is very savory, other times it's disappointing but depends on the time of day when you visit. Service is always great. The servers try their best to keep customers happy by replenishing drinks and clearing used plates. The kitchen staff brings out fresh food as it's cooked to keep a solid rotation of a variety of food options. Been coming here since their grand opening and I'm glad to say their quality hasn't dropped off one bit. I'll be back again for sure. Remember to tip well!

You gotta love seafood to visit this place, but look they have so many other options as well. My point is that for the price is a great place to eat seafood (Crab legs, Oysters and Clams), lots of sushi and sashimi options as well.

Tried the buffet! They have a lot of options and it was very busy, even on a weekday. Overall, it’s a good spot if you want to try a variety of seafood.

Very outdated interior, the service is great and it's all about your own perspective. Yes they come by often and take your plates away but they're not rushing you, I take it more that they are trying to make space for you. Stafford super kind and helpful, selection is decent for the price point. Very late 80s early 90s Vibe with the decor but it's about the food, right? My only negative is the broccoli floating in froth milk. Your brain tells you it's whipped cream, but it's definitely not.

Aunty Esther here, please take it from me. Natsumi Sushi & Seafood Buffet is the place you want to be at for lunch/ dinner. The minute you enter, though it may be crowded, you will still be greeted with a warm welcome greeting. Seating may take a few minutes due to their popularity. Foods are always warm and fresh and greatly satisfying. Table wait staff are always fast to assist you from serving/refilling drinks, clearing/cleaning floors, and yes, they will assist you with picture taking and birthday singing. Try a little bit of everything you wish to try to get a sense of how the food tastes like. Trust me, you won't be disappointed. Make reservations in advance for your large family gathering. Like I always say, tell them Aunty Esther sent you..lol

Truly authentic Asian buffet! Limited selection of warm food, unlike others, but each dish was amazing! The quality of the warm food, sushi and crab legs were on point. Thei service was impressive. From those greeting youz to the servers, and table waiters. They were all very attentive. Highly recommended! Will come back again.

Restaurant serving sea foods, including Japanese, Chinese and Mangolian selective food. Speciality revolves around sushi, sashimi, Chinese fry and Mangolian BBQ.Can add oysters and crabs. The food is delicious ( though some dishes may not be liked by Muslims); the service is efficient.However, interior decoration needs to be modernised.People from nearby offices/ shops have their lunch here.Generally remains busy.

If you know me, you know I LOOOOVE a good Asian buffet. I can eat plates of sushi, dim sum, and crab legs until I genuinely reach a flow state, then pour a river of hot and sour soup down my throat to chase it. While Natsumi does not offer crab legs at lunch, their price and food quality more than make up for it. I came with some friends to take advantage of the $17 lunch buffet. Despite coming at a weird time on a weekday, the place was quite busy. Seeing the large family gatherings, group photos and all, taking place as I walked in, I knew I was in for a treat. Service was prompt and the restaurant looked pretty clean. I think the buffet area was a bit smaller than I was expecting, but things were being refilled quickly and looked fresh. I beelined to the sushi first. While the lunch menu does not include sashimi, some of their rolls do include raw fish, and there are cute little poke bowls on offer. I tried basically one of every roll and had some seaweed salad on the side. The rolls had a bit more rice than I would have liked, but the ingredients were fresh, the fish didn't taste funky, and the sauces added good flavor. I used just a dab of wasabi, scooped from the massive iceberg of wasabi on the sushi counter, but soy sauce was not really needed. They had a Mongolian bbq station though I did not partake. On to the hot foods. Natsumi had most of the classic carb offerings, some random fried items, hot dishes, and a small dim sum collection. Highlights were the black bean clams, which my friends and I got several plates of, the baked mussels, always so rich and creamy, and the beef stir fry, which was incredibly tender. Some of their offerings were a bit bland, but everything was hot. They had some flavors of bao buns and lotus leaf chicken and rice for their dim sum offerings. After several plates of savory, it was time to finish with a soup before moving on to sweet. I tried a bit of their hot and sour soup and seafood soups. The seafood soup was quite bland, but a very nice way to wash down the greasiness of everything I previously ate. The hot and sour soup was not particularly strong in flavor either, but had a pleasant savoriness. Natsumi has a chocolate fountain but unfortunately no strawberries when I was there. They had pretty tasty green tea mousse, as well as a flavorful but tough mango jelly cup. Their ice cream was a bit hard to scoop but they had all the standard flavors. Overall my friends and I enjoyed Natsumi for what it was, a well-priced, basic Asian lunch buffet. I felt full but not gross after eating a large amount of their food, which is a green flag in my book. I will definitely be back if I want good bang for my buck at lunch, or if I want to try their dinner offerings.

This AYCE buffet restaurant was tucked in a front corner of a Miramar strip mall right behind a Starbucks coffee shop. From the outside, the building didn't look big, but the interior was quite vast with a capacity to easily accommodate 200+ customers. When it first opened, Natsumi Sushi & Seafood Buffet offered an affordable dinner price of just over $20 per adult. That was many years ago and prior to the pandemic. The current weekend dinner charge was $33.99 which is actually not as high as some of their competitors in this area. Starting from the front and then wrapping around clockwise was the sushi and sashimi. It was followed by the raw seafood bar, teppanyaki station, and soups. Hot items were then displayed on the left with the cold items on the right. The desserts were at the end and culminated by a chocolate fountain. Across from that was an ice cream freezer where you could scoop your own flavors from a set of four. The variety of sushi rolls was pretty good, but I thought they were cut small in size. Four kinds of soup were available, and I sampled the seafood version. What disturbed me was the lack of a cover placed on top of the kettles. Anything could land inside the pot and ruin the product. The other area which was a bit unsanitary was the chocolate fountain. It's a hard spot to keep clean, but there was so much splash over from the liquid chocolate. I made multiple visits and tried some items from each of the above areas. The hot entrees had an average selection compared to other AYCE buffets. Nothing in particular stood out for me. The meats at the teppanyaki station were bland because they were not marinated or seasoned. Diners at a couple of tables were particularly eager with the crawfish as they each had a plate filled with the peel and eat crustaceans. My dining experience at Natsumi Sushi & Seafood Buffet was at a three star level.

It's been a while since I've dined here. Food is still delicious and service is excellent. Tiffany and John were friendly and accommodating. Lunch has less offerings but is still a great option. The place is clean and ice cold which is great during the summer heat waves. With peel shrimp, mussels, sushi and deep fried crab, it's a seafood lover's paradise. The crowd during midweek is pretty much retirees and large groups but still a good place to dine for lunch if you've got the extra time. Be sure to tip well.

3.5/5 stars - Good if you're hungry, not if you're picky. The sushi selection is solid. They have a good variety to choose from, from sashimi to nigiris and to cut rolls. Nothing Michelin-worthy, but not terrible. The seafood section had crab legs, oysters, shrimp, crawfish, and more. There were some solid choices, but others... not so much. Hot food items had a variety of Chinese food: chow mein, fried rice, stir fried dishes, egg rolls, wings, etc.. Overall, it's a great place if you're starving. Not the spot for a fancy night out or if you're super into "quality." Would I go back? Maybe... if I skip lunch first and someone else was paying. HA

I went here with family but I think we went to the wrong buffet lol The food was okay. There was a variety of food but I wasn't sure about the price. Service was okay. The restaurant is smaller than other buffets I've been to but was a decent size and decently clean.

3-4 stars. I haven't been to a buffet in YEARS! I'm actually a bit surprised at how clean and organized this one was -- at least for the food stations. They had different sections: sushi, soups, wok noodle station, seafood-- crab legs, oysters, mussels, hot food station: pan fried wontons, crispy shrimp, coconut shrimp, shaking beef, broccoli beef, sautéed clams, etc., fried rice, chow mien, seaweed salad, banchan, kimchi, desserts, taro buns, ice cream, chocolate fountain, etc! They have clean plates, utensils, and gloves. I found that the gloves were super handy when dealing with the saucy clams and the crab. The crab was so sweet and tasted good. My grandpa had over 5 plates of crab legs. And lots of sushi. The crab was plain so at first we made a lemon, salt & pepper mixture for dipping... and then, I took it upon myself to be creative and I grabbed some of the delicious spicy clam sauce and ate the crab with that sauce. Next time I'd also get fried rice and eat it together. I really enjoyed the coconut shrimp as the flavor wasn't too sweet and there wasn't a lot of batter on it. The dumplings were juicy with a balance of veggies and meat. I liked the garlic string beans, the veggies (zucchini and bell pepper) from the shaking beef tray, and the broccoli from the broccoli beef tray. The spicy clams was a big hit out our table, we ate mountains of it. Skip the fried calamari as it was bland, mushy, and had this rubber band like ring around the inner squid. Impossible to bite through-- it wasn't an actual rubberband, but had the texture of one. As an Asian buffet, I would have loved to see more tofu options! Having some extra tofu in the miso soup would have been wonderful. For desserts, I found the matcha ice cream to be tasting a little chemically/ or like soap. But the strawberry ice cream wasn't too bad. I liked it with the fried plantain and some crushed Oreos. The ice cream is on the softer side and the scoop is small and not the best for scooping at a deep and awkward angle. I think they'd be better off using an ice cream scoop with more depth to it. The coffee jello was strong but perhaps too much gelatin or agar agar as it was nearly crunchy. The crème brûlée was by far my favorite dessert. Overall, not bad spot. There was 6 of us and cost was ~$200 something. It cost $28 for seniors, $35 for others. It is a bit pricey, if people in the group don't treat the dinner like they are at a buffet. Two plates and tap out? No, go get some more and make it worth your money! My grandpa paid $28 and he ate soo much crab, it was definitely worth it for him. I think it would be cool if they had other drink options here, but I understand if that's too much work (milk tea, ramune soda, etc). Workers were very kind and helpful. They were fast at clearing the plates off the table and attentive as I noticed they gave my grandpa a stack of napkins. All in all, it's a buffet, so go and enjoy~ if that's your thing.

It was a Thursday afternoon when I met with 17 friends for a going-away party. We made a reservation ahead of time and were seated on time. Lots of parking at the back. Was surprised to see that the place was full on a weekday. The price for AYCE lunch was great and so reasonable! On top of that, most of us were either military or 65 and above so we received a 10% discount. The servers were great and got our drinks and even took our pictures. The spread of food.....amazing from sushi, soups, hot entrees, salads, desserts and ice cream. Yum! We gave an additional tip on top of the service charge. Will be back for sure...

Overall I'd say my experience was average, it wasn't the best or worst. The food is edible but nothing special. The ambiance seems a bit sad and cold. The service was okay but I thought it was weird how all the staff were eating their own dinner right in front of us. The dinner buffet was $33 and including a variety of sushi, side dishes, hot Asian dishes, soups, seafood, a teppanyaki station, a dessert bar, and ice cream station. Dinner also includes a steak at the teppanyaki station which was okay, not the best quality meat. We arrived 75 minutes before close and they were already condensing the dishes, no longer cooking fresh food, and mopping the floors. Highly recommend arriving at least 2 hours before close if you want to get a fresh selection of food. I'm not sure if I'd come back...

It was big inside and fairly clean. The buffet section didn't look to big just bc the way the tables were set up. I got there when it opened so it wasn't busy, but boy! It got busy and full real quick. I think for it being about 19$ for lunch is kinda expensive when it pretty much had the same things other china buffets had. However, the sushi was better than other china buffets. The sushi in the cups were pretty good and the quality of fish seem fine. They had a lot of vegetable options and the black bean clams were good. They even have a Mongolian station and 4 different kinds of soups. Their salad section was absolutely lacking and only has two dressings. I thought this place was decent especially with the service being so prompt and nice. I'd come here again for lunch, but not for dinner just bc the price disparity.

Earlier this month, after many years, we visited this place twice. The first visit was on New Year's Day when my husband, his parents, and his brother's family came to San Diego to celebrate. We took them for lunch at this buffet. Despite being lunch, the holiday menu was the same as dinner, priced at $32.99 per person, featuring sashimi, snow crab legs, and oysters. Seeing that the regular lunch price is just $18.50, we decided to bring my mom to try it. The dishes in the photos are from that day. Although there wasn't sashimi, snow crab legs, or oysters, the wide variety of sushi made it well worth the price. Combined with the stir-fry dishes and fried items, it's a great deal. The sushi rolls here are on par with those at standard Japanese restaurants, making this place perfect for those craving sushi without being too picky about quality. It's ideal for growing teens, hearty eaters, and college gatherings!

A buffet fan here to give this eatery the recognition that it deserves. I only dine here during their lunch hours (from 11:00 am to 3:30 pm, Monday through Friday) due to it is a bargain at $17.99 per person. 12/18/2024. Plate #1. Sushi, nigiri, and seaweed salad. Slightly better quality than Sprouts but it's ayce here, 3.5/5 stars. Plate #2. Peppered beef, orange chicken, beef & broccoli, garlic chicken, salmon, swai fish, shrimp, tempura sweet potato, and salt & pepper crab legs, all 4/5 stars. Plate #3. Green mussels, salt & pepper shrimp, Manila clams in black bean sauce, and gyoza, all 4/5 stars. Plate #4 is full of desserts. Chocolate cake, flan, napoleon pastry, orange cake, coffee parfait, and macaroon. All were decent at 3.5/5 stars, but the napoleon pastry was delish as it had a medium sweetness that went well with the flaky but thin puff pastry, 4/5 stars. Their service is adequate considering that they are always at full seating capacity by 11:45 am. It may take extra time for drink refills, and for them to collect your used plates but these are not a deal breaker. If you get here at about noon then you will join others for a lengthy wait to be seated. To summarize, this isn't gourmet fare, but do capitaize on their low admission price.

You can't come to an Asian buffet and have high expectations. This place is average. A little small. It's mainly seafood. There's hot food and a sushi bar. There's plenty of dessert, ice cream, and a chocolate fountain for marshmallows. They have indoor and outdoor seating. My favorite from the hot dishes were the jalapeño chicken and steak stir fry. For sushi my favorite roll was the spicy tuna. Everything was kept clean.

I hadn't gone to this place for years and it's still not good. Decided to give it another try and will never go back again. The place is spacious, lots of seatings, but it wasn't the most welcoming encounter. After being seated, went to get food and there were flies roaming around. After getting my first plate of food, I was anxious to taste only to discover everything was cold. Got a plate of sushi and that was good. One sushi roll I think was made of shredded cooked salmon so that tasted good, the rest were alright. Not a lot of selection, it's smaller than your typical Asian buffet. The only items that were hot was the soup. The dessert area was depressing, but they did have a chocolate fountain and self scoop ice cream. But, when I saw the flies, I was hesitant to eat the dessert. The only item in the dessert I ate that was worth eating multiple times was the flan. Save your money, drive 10 minutes more down the road and go to seaside buffet.

What a great buffet close to home! The sushi quality is 7/10. They have a huge variety of raw & cooked sushi, soups, hot foods & dessert. The hot food selection is pretty good & kid friendly. My 8 year old daughter loves coming here, & she can be a picky eater. Service is like any other buffet, they come by to refill any drinks & are pretty on top of clearing any old plates to make space for your next dish. They have a pretty big space, so plenty of walking room & seating. Prices are unbeatable for what you get in my opinion. We went during lunch time & it's pretty packed. They do take reservations so if you plan to come during peak hours, I would plan accordingly. Overall, not a bad place for being so close to home.

Tried a new Asian buffet. It was good. We were seated right away and brought water. The venue was clean and well organized. The food presentation is nice. Typical of Asian buffet. The price is good for the value. What I like best about this place is that they have more sushi & nigiri options than usual including cooked and raw options. They have 3-4 soup options. Plenty of dessert options as well. I would come here again

We heard about natsumi from a friend. It just was not the greatest experience for us. We came on a Saturday morning. It was already very crowded. Checking in at the front felt chaotic. Inside seemed very packed. The tables were very close together. I was expecting a larger selection of sushi. The fish looked frozen and not so fresh. Not all items were labeled. I think what we really didn't enjoy was the server kept coming asking if we were done like we felt rushed to finish up and leave.

I love this place. The best bang for your buck seafood/asian buffet in SD imo. Its $10 cheaper than 100 seafood buffet + crab legs on the weekends. The sushi is made fresh with a mix of maki and nigiri. The soups are flavorful. They have a mongolian noodles bar which I have been meaning to try but havent been able to due to filling up on the hot foods bar. The coconut shrimp is yummy. They have green tea ice cream which I greatly appreciate as a way to close out the meal.

Wow! This place is great! I love a good Chinese buffet with sushi that makes the price beyond worth it. The sushi here is the go-to vibe. The dessert area is exceptionally large. Then, the normal Chinese food is some of the best I have ever had. They clear your plates very well. They fill up water very well. The service is great! Go here! Trust me! Get there early though because the wait is long sometimes!!

Our family's favorite Asian buffet. Been coming here for a while whether it's for grabbing a good (very filling) meal or to celebrate graduations, birthdays, or funeral receptions (our close friends and relatives choose & frequent this place too). This being said, it's almost always busy but the employees are on top of giving good service. Used plates are continually being picked up, food being quickly replenished and they pay attention to the customers. I love that they are also conscientious as far as health safety. At the start of each row of food, they have signs to put on hand sanitizer and plastic gloves that they provide. Unfortunately, not everyone follows it. It is pricey at $17+ for lunch, but not bad considering food prices have considerably gone up and this is the price for one meal at a good restaurant. Nevertheless, the food you get is fresh and with so much variety. A lot of vegetable dishes, seafood, tons of sushi, etc. (A whole row is dedicated to just sushi.) Know that this is a hustling and bustling place. And there's a reason for it. People know where there's good food and will flock to it. Highly recommend!

Overall a great buffet! You don't feel like you're wasting food. My favorite in southern Cali.

I'm came here and n a Friday night expecting it to be super busy but we were seated quickly. The food was fresher than I expected. Lots of choices. There is a time limit of I think 90 or 120 minutes but we didn't need that much time and I don't think they would have cared if we did stay longer. Lots of families with small children but it wasn't loud. They even play Happy Birthday if it's your birthday. The desserts tasted better than they looked. Sushi rolls and sashimi has a lot of variety and all were really good for a buffet. Price was good for the quality and wide assortment od foods to pick from. Clean and spacious seating is a plus.

Great food. We had a group of 11 with a reservation. They seated us immediately upon arrival. Service was impressively fast and efficient. Everyone had extra dessert and left happy and well fed. Will definitely be back again.

Still crowded on Friday at opening, yet attentive staff 5. TIP: do weekday lunch at Seaside Buffet that is 2ish miles away - similar pricing, similar food options, but BETTER sushi, cooked crab legs, teppanyaki; also smaller crowd!

I came in around 1pm for lunch with my family and it was about a 10-15 min wait. This place is very much you get what you pay for. It's your typical asian buffet with a slightly better sushi selection. The nigiri and seafood selection was limited for a place with sushi and seafood in its name, however the sushi rolls, hot dishes, and dessert section were decent. One thing to note is that some items such as sashimi and crab legs are not offered during lunch. The inside itself is a bit small compared to other buffets so it gets filled pretty quickly. The servers were attentive as they cleaned up our plates almost immediately. It's a good place to go if you're in the area, hungry and are not picky.

This buffet restaurant is probably one of the San Diego buffets I've eaten at with relatively high food quality. Their salmon belly is especially fresh. There's also a good variety of dishes to choose from. The sushi is really delicious. I highly recommend it.

ok,... so, one could say ab me that I'm one of those retired Navy men that was an West Coast sailor my whole time in the Navy. to say I like good Asian food would be an understatement. I found this place few years back and each time I come here to see my granddaughters or visit my friends, I have to have at least one lunch or dinner here. What a place! the staff run this place like a military unit with various workers wearing various colored shirts to denote their stations as they run the place! most would never understand what they see - but I do. each time I'm treated as if you'd think they remember you; I'm sure they don't but it's just their way, and its in keeping with their over all level of professionalism! it's service and atmosphere like this that warms and relaxes me while having great food to experience& try as well! well worth the money in my book! thank you, Natsumi ~!~

1/3/2024 - We haven't been here in over a year. They opened at 11am and we arrived at 10:55am. A long line outside to already get in. We were in line for about 10 minutes until being seated. We told them to be seated inside and not outside. Last time flies outside. All the food was ready to go and looked fresh. The place was packed at 11:30. Three larger groups came in, a funeral, and two birthday party groups. One group was 150 people! I thought all the sushi was good and I liked the Chinese donuts and the shrimp. The jalapeño chicken was my favorite. Total bill for 3 adults was about $60. Check out videos and photos. Enjoy.

I would give it more stars if I could lol the ambience was relaxing the service was excellent our servers ZHENG and LENG were professional attentive to our needs always keeping our table clean I loved it the food was fresh a good verity of seafood and other dishes the ice cream bar was amazing not to mention all of the other desserts to choose from the place was clean the rest rooms looked good almost forgot they have a grill section you choose you raw ingredients & it's grilled up in minutes that was also amazing I definitely recommend this place

The sushi was good and teppanyaki was one of my favorite. I gave 4 stars because I wish they have more desserts to choose from. All servers are fast and very accommodating. This place is also good for large group.

My pictures do this place ZERO JUSTICE! Completely shocked finding this place! My boss set up a lunch here and it did not disappoint! I'm not big on seafood but the options for non seafood eaters were amazing! Peppered steak chunks, jalepeno chicken, orange chicken, fried chicken, tons of veggies! Chow mein You had me at chocolate fountain! Seafood for days! Sushi, shrimp, crab, crawfish, oysters, muscles etc. I HAVE to go back and take better pictures!

We had a reservation for 8 people on a Sunday night. We didn't have to wait long for our table. I usually love sushi, but lately I've had the ick and it's hard for me to eat raw fish. That being said, this place has plenty of options if you do not like raw fish. Although the sushi and sashimi look super fresh and the place is very clean. My favorite was the crab!

Been here 4 or 5 time over the last 5 year ( first time Food was Great. Even second time but the last 3 time get worst and worst. Was just there and it's around 5pm ( you would think it's Dinner! New food will be serves ) but most of food exclude sushi was old and dried ( was NOT GOOD AT ALL)) SO Disappointed! Would never come back again! There is so many new Buffet around as competition they should keep up and improve !!! BTW Prices was increase $31.99 for dinner on Wednesday...

$18 bucks for a lunch buffet. Pretty legit. Crab legs kept running out because the man next to my table was PILING his plate like we were at Mongolian grill. Food selection was good and fresh. I wasn't brave enough to eat the sushi but it looked fresh! My friend ate it and she didn't get sick. 4/5 for the food quality/ price.

Really good food, reasonable prices, quick responsive staff, great experience in a very nice setting. Best buffet for the price we've found locally over the past several years. Kudos!

Amazing food, fresh crabs and the oysters were great! Not a fan of the noodles and rice it was greasy but all the meat dishes and seafood dishes were amazing. Desserts and sushi was also not a miss. Service was also on top, they clean and refresh the drinks so fast! Overall I'm so glad SD now has a proper seafood buffet for a great amazing price! It's a must visit place for all buffet and seafood lovers! We'll definitely be back!

We noticed it got really crowded and without our reservation, we would have certainly had to wait. The buffet had a wider variety of sushi rolls and sashimi. All of the sashimi was fresh and delicious. The range of hot dishes was vast. My favorites were the short ribs, pepper beef, and green beans. They also had crab legs, raw oysters, and other seafood. I skipped the desserts this time, but folks in our party had ice cream, flan and a ton of tasty looking sweet treats. 2 hours later, I was stuffed and literally in a food coma.

Food is great Service was great Price reasonable Place was clean ambiance good. The only thing is you have 1 hour to eat inside and 2 hours on the patio.

Loved this place! My family's favorite go-to buffet. We had a memorial service reception here with a big party so we made reservations prior. Their sushi selection was pretty good (nigiri & rolls), no sashimi though. The plantains, clams, muscles, shrimp, and sugar biscuits were also some fan favorites. There's a chocolate fountain too!

Huge selection of food. If you like variety, this is a great place to go esp. for the price. A line already started forming before 11am on a weekday for lunch. See the food stations pictures not including soups and ice creams. Spoiled for choices.

It was alright not bad for sushi restaurant. Went on a Sunday around 5pm and got seated pretty fast.

A nice place albeit a bit cozy as they really maximized their space by having tables quite close together. They also had dressy covered chairs and ambient lighting throughout the restaurant. My friend and I came for lunch and as we approached the door we could see the line while the customers waited for the doors to open at 11 am. We waited for a few minutes and the hostess seated us directing us to help ourselves to the buffet. Shortly afterwards a server came by and took our drink orders, hot green tea and iced tea. The place was sparkly clean and they offered a number of different kinds of sushi, hot food and had a station where they made food to order (did not try) also had dessert station complete with chocolate fountain, I loved this! Also had an ice cream case where I sampled the green tea ice cream, a good palate cleanser and nice ending to my meal. My favorite items were the California rolls, the crab legs, green beans with tempura, marshmallow covered with chocolate and green tea ice cream. I'll be back to try dinner so I can sample other items.

Everything a seafood lover (me) could want out of a buffet. Crab legs (hot and cold), crawfish (also sautéed or cold) and oysters. Large selection of sushi, including rolls, sashimi, and nigiri. Hot food section is what you would expect from a typical Chinese buffet (dim sum). Dessert bar also did not disappoint. There was a chocolate fondue fountain to dip fruit in, crème brûlée, and green tea ice cream. Did not make it to the Mongolian bbq section, will have to come back. We were sat right away at 6:15pm on a Monday night. Service was very attentive with refilling waters and making sure our tables were clean. Definitely coming back, our new favorite seafood buffet in San Diego.

Natsumi Buffet is exactly what is sounds like -- a seafood buffet, with a wide selection of items. Weekend days are the best, as they have additional items that they do not have on weekdays, such as escargot, and other select seafood items. I think that the restaurant does a good job as a buffet, and going into it with the mindset that it is a buffet, does help with overall expectations. They do not guarantee quality or freshness of items as other non-AYCE seafood restaurants should, but they do provide a wide variety of seafood items, at decent or average quality. Compared to most other buffets, I would say that their seafood quality is slightly higher. However, the food here cannot be compared to other restaurants that specialize in specific foods. Rating it as a buffet and comparing to other buffets, Natsumi is certainly above average, but if you are looking for top quality seafood, this is not the place to look.

My family loves bonding over food and we sure can eat a lot, so buffets are our go to when we get together. We have been to Natsumi a number of times. It's one of my favorites because of their large sushi and seafood selection. The fish is fresh, the crab legs are always a hit, soups are bomb, and the huge dessert section is on point! There is also a station for made to order Mongolian bbq, steak, and seafood udon soup too. Great selection and prices are not bad at all. I will be back again and again :)

I've been going here for years. As a matter of fact I was there just two days ago. BEST BUFFET EVER! Wait staff is very attentive and the food is fantastic.

Service was good and the place was clean but the food was on the lower end of average. Comparing the offerings and quality of food to other asian buffets in SD this place is grossly overpriced. I tried a dozen or more dishes and only one was truly good....the crispy coconut shrimp. The large crab legs were very decent but they put out too few at a time. There is consistently a wait for refills. If you think you're going to come here and fill up on crab legs you'll be disappointed. A few of the sushi rolls were good but there are very few varieties to choose from. The sashimi wasn't of high quality or fresh. All the hot fish was discolored and looked dry (I couldn't even bring myself to try it). The beef in all the dishes was chewy and I'm sorry....disgusting. The spare ribs OMG..chewy, greasy and just nasty. The noodles were just ok and the rice, the rice.....how do you "F" up rice at an asian restaurant? The batter on the honey orange chicken was soft and mushy and the batter on the calamari tasted like dry cake. Many of the items from their website that they claim to serve weren't being offered. No honey pork chop, no french fries, no fried biscuits, no salt n pepper crab or shrimp, no scallops, no jalapeno pepper chicken. Did I mention the rice? I left unsatiated and feeling as though I'd been ripped off. Never again.
