Nice hole in the wall find! The food here is great. The staff friendly and fast. I got thw quest birria and taquitos and bothered were amazing. Best I've ever had which is saying something. Drinks come with refills. Hot sauce is mild but tasty. I recommend getting a grilled jalapeño for heat and taste. This place is Highly recommended. A+

I miss my good food from back home. This place is the closest I can get. I like coming here to get a menudo and some taquitos rancheros. All the food is good. But menudo is just like we eat back home. Only thing that I don’t like it’s that when it’s full you can even move in there. It’s very small and you have to go and get your food so it’s hard. There’s people standing where you pick up food and they don’t move. And they need to put fountain drinks. They only have aguas in fountain. Not everyone likes that. I like the horchata. Four time we go: I take back my 5 stars. We went on Saturday to have dinner. I asked for a steak torta. When I bite the first bite it was just pineapple with a piece of me. Second bite was meat but to it wasn’t steak it was pork! We don’t eat pork. Because of religion. Never again will I go back. They made me feel guilty.

I was looking for a good birria in Colorado springs, well I found it! I came in the doors to hear some bandas music, lady pouring Horchata and Jamaica, and a line around the decent sized restaurant. I was stoned so I was taking my birria to go, but I'd dine in they had a vibe going. I got birria, rice, beans, 2 tacos, carnitas and barbacoa, and a glass bottle of Coke, love the way it burns 🔥 all the food reminded me of Mexico and had great flavor. Prices are very reasonable! I recommend!

Wow. The quesabirria tacos were so good. I can’t even put it into words. The pickled onions were also delicious and a great addition to the tacos. So much meat and cheese and the consume was delicious! The best I’ve had!!! Well worth the drive and the wait!

I've ordered from here so many times and the food is always 10/10. The quality the taste all of it is amazing. Anytime l'm in the springs I order from here again. The Quesabirria is my favorite and they're even nice enough to do it without cilantro when requested.

Si ve been coming to this place since they started with their food truck. Now that they’ve gotten more customers and hired more staff the food quality has not been what it used to. On my last visit k ordered 3 asada tacos and found 1 short black hairs on my food and on plate. I don’t believe I’ll be coming back 😔

I arrived around 8 pm. The place had some open tables, but I was ordering to go anyway. The line to order took about 10 minutes and the menu is easy to understand and reasonably priced. I ordered carne asada tacos, and they weren't yucky, but the way the carne was cut did not complement the onion and cilantro. It was cut into cubes about the size of a nickel and i didn't like that. I would recommend eating at the restaurant because my french fries had cooled down to almost unedible by the time i arrived home. The green sauce was yum but the red sauce had a very off-putting taste....Overall, I think I'll return 1 more time during lunch on a non-busy day and see what I think of it all then

Insanely good. It's almost too good. I go here so much I think they starting to get annoyed. Usually I'm the only gringo, so you know it's legit. Everything on the menu is amazing . The 5.50 breakfast burrito is legit if you wanna be cheap but still eat good, comes with a cup of green chili. The drinks to the left are always wild good. I don't even know what they are but they're amazing, especially mixed together. My only complaint is they took down the bobcat fur. But I bet that's because a democrat complained Go here quick before the yuppie Subaru crowd discovers it and the food gets white washed

This is a small but crowded and pleasant restaurant catering to Spanish speaking clientele, but English speakers are welcome also! We stopped by on a Saturday around one-ish and they were very busy. I stood in line to order and decided from the pictures on the wall menus to have the Quesobirria tacos. When I spoke to the counter server, she asked if we wanted flour or corn tortillas, showing me that the Quesobirria were in flowered tortillas while the Birria tacos con queso came in corn tortillas. I was given a buzzer/pager so that I would know when our food was ready for pick up. My husband and I were going to share so I chose the corn tortillas since each taco came with two tortillas and there were three tacos in the plate. I also ordered a side of guacamole and a large margarita for us to share. The margarita was surprisingly good! It was tasty and in a large glass. It came out first. Our buzzer went off shortly thereafter, and I went up to pick up the food. The server asked, which of the three sauces I wanted, and I asked for all three. Our tacos came in a basket with large chunks of grilled onion, and a roasted jalapeño as well as a cup of birria dipping sauce. My guacamole was in a plastic cup. The onions and jalapeño in the basket with the tacos were delicious! We chat down on those before even starting on the tacos. Each of the tacos was made up of two corn tortillas with cheese inside the inner tortilla, then filled with birria and onions. I immediately split my first taco and made it into two tacos, although one had no cheese because of the original construction. My husband ate Beria out of his taco until it was a manageable size to handle and eat. The sauce was delicious with lots of onions and cilantro, as well as the beef broth for dipping. The guacamole was tasty, although I like onions in mine. We enjoyed the food and drink a lot! We learned that there is another location closer to our house that we will try next.

Had delivery of a wet shrimp burrito and cheese fries. Both were great helping and tasted awesome. Highly recommend

Oh my goodness, the food! I get the menudo. They told me that they service menudo 7 days a week! AWESOME!!!!! My hubby loves it too. Good selection of food and drinks. Busy, but why not, the food is great! We went there today (8/19/2025) about 1 pm, not too many people then. It is our favorite now when we are in that area of town.

Fish tacos were good. Quesabirria was messy and stuffed with meat, the meat was tender and soft. The torta with lengua and Tripas was perfect. Tripas were crunchy and lengua was tender. Carne asada burrito not pictured... meat was tender and burrito well put together. The horchata is delicious here! One of the best I've ever had (best one is in Cali, sorry tacos el amigo, but you're easily in the top 3). Would definitely come back here. Wish you guys had cabeza tacos though.

The food is amazing. Have been both when it was packed and just a little busy. Worth it no matter what time! Tons of food choices and very authentic. Recommend the Birria Tacos.

The food itself was so good, the service was good I have no complaints on that however it wasn't outstanding. The setting of the store was really cool the loud music all the people and you can choose where you sit, it was really fun but again not spectacular where I'm super wowed.

Excellent taco shack. I'll be back for sure. Loved their red beers. The birria is very very good. Traditional loud Mexican music jams from the kitchen give this place the right vibe for the cuisine.

The meat in the tacos was not cut right, just big chunks of the asada meat. It was hard to chew. The place seems not very well kept. It is cheap but the food is mediocre. I expected more.

Wow! We drove around for a while trying to find a Mexican restaurant that wasn't counter service. We finally gave up, and I'm SO glad we did. Those chicken taquitos were some of the best food I've ever eaten--not just Mexican food but ANY food. The shells were crispy and the chicken was perfectly seasoned. The guacamole and vegetables were fresh and lovely. My husband said his chimi was very good as well. He was not raving the way I was, but he really liked it.

This place is my husband and I's go to spot for Mexican food. The birria tacos are to DIE for, seriously so damn good. The service is also 10/10, the workers are very kind and efficient. The ambiance inside is very authentic and cute. Also decently affordable! I hope everyone has the pleasure of eating here!

We walked in and was greeted and our order was taken immediately. They were friendly and polite. The prices are fairly reasonable and the food smelled good. The decor was nice and the decoration on the tables were amazing. It was clean, had nice music playing in the background. They were not busy and there was ample seating. I got the carne asada fries and Kenneth got tacos camarón pescado and a jarrito. The good didn't take long to come out and it looked good. We enjoyed it and will be back

When I say, I am SOO glad I found this spot one day when I was craving tacos so bad! Being from cali, i've had the BEST authentic mexican TACOS, so I am expecting them to be okay, not amazing........ they proved me wrong the minute I took my first bite! This place is soo good, from the drinks, to the menu, they have tacos, burritos, mexican hot dogs, and desserts! I have gone back 3 times in such little time. I definitely recommend this place for authentic tacos that will remind you of home no matter where you're from! Everyone is so nice too.

Moved from Texas to Colorado. Love the state but we sure do miss authentic Mexican food. Tacos el Amigo has great service and delicious food. We've been on weekdays and weekends there is a crowd sometimes but it's worth the wait + the restaurant is so beautifully decorated it definitely feels like you're eating at a small restaurant in Mexico. Muchas gracias a Tacos el Amigo, nos da mucha nostalgia comer aquí y nos hace pensar en nuestro hermoso país cada vez que los visitamos. Su comida está muy rica y siempre nos caen muy bien sus empleados. :)

Food was good. Service was fast and pretty friendly. You have to order and pick up at the counter, and the receipt asked for tips. The decor is very festive and colorful, however I became uncomfortable when I noticed a dead grey tabby cat dream catcher staring down at me.

Very interesting flavors. The prices are a tad on the high side. Quality is what you'd expect. The atmosphere is simple. Lots of parking and fun music playing. There is a side room with extra privacy booths and a couple of larger tables. I tried their burger, which was strange but good. It's like a part burger, part hot dog with pineapple slice and sauce. I'm not sure if I would order it again, but it hit some kind of spot. The fries weren't excellent, but they are better than say, In and Out fries, which are horrible. Will I be back? Maybe! There is loads of competition in the area, ao we'll see! Worth mentioning the smothered burrito is quite large!

Quite possibly the best Birria Tacos I've ever tasted. The consume was also very flavorful. The value in the 3 tacos, onions, peppers, consume, and variety of sauces was well worth $12.81. I added a 1/2 liter, glass bottle, Coke and it completed the meal! The service was super-fast and very friendly. Seating was abundant and the vibe was perfect for a great lunch!

Was craving some good tacos and after searching all over I found this place. Walked in and noticed the lovely vibrant decor and that the place was busy with a mix of people. The food was killer and the prices are fair.

The menu had a big variety of Mexican food , it was so bomb , for 2 people we paid less than $25 , fast service in Spanish and English . Good Mexican music playing too !

When you first walk in, the vibes were definitely there. Music blasting and the aroma from the food. Ordered the birria queso plate (13.49), horchata and a side of rice and beans. The tacos were amazing. The rice was okay. I'm not a fan of green beans in my rice. The beans needed salt. Horchata was good, could've been a little sweeter but it suffice for the moment. The birria tacos were so good though. They were huge tacos and full of meat. The cooks worked pretty fast. Took me like 10 minutes to get my food but it was full house. I was impressed! Would definitely come back and recommend this place! Don't forget to get some habanero sauce!

Authentic Mexican food. Would recommend to anyone looking for good food. The tacos, quesadillas, and tortas are all things I've tried and would recommend.

The atmosphere is authentic Mexican with great decorations. Service is relatively fast with friendly staff. Tried most of their menu and it's all pretty good. The carnitas is a little dry and the birria could be better but I'm never disappointed. Just not blown away.

If you're looking for bomb birria, look no farther. Dang, one and a half in and I'm done. Tons of food for the price. Plenty of room and food didn't take long. Good service.

The food was amazing! My best friend had the Birria tacos , I had the smothered burrito and it was huge! For dessert I had the churros, they had caramel in the middle so delicious! The horchata wasn't the best there wasn't enough sugar to give the cinnamon a sweet flavor, maybe it was an off day. Non the less it was still good. We got there before 7pm and it was busy! Line almost out the door after we ordered. It took about 45 mins to get our food but it's made to order and there were a couple large orders before ours. We were able to find a booth and wait. The place is very busy! It was worth the wait and I will be back.

It may look like a hole in the wall kinda place, and in a way it is lol but it is FANTASTIC!!! Prices are super reasonable, and the food is fresh and so damn tasty. I got the smothered burrito and hubs got birria tacos. Most times 3 tacos are not filling enough for him but there was a generous amount of delicious meat! The service is counter style. You order and wait for your number to be called, no waiters or anything, very chill place. Music and decor on point as well! I drive 30 mins to get to this place and am never disappointed!

Tacos El Amigo was a pleasant find in Colorado Springs. I was driving around aimlessly after a hike and then it hit me. TACOS. NOW. NEED TACOS. With no agenda and not a care in the world, I opened Yelp, found Tacos El Amigo, and pulled in the parking lot. Good food is usually housed in unassuming places. And this place is the definition of unassuming. Chalk that up as a positive thing in my book. Though quesabirria tacos tend to make my ears perk up, I was in the mood for street style tacos. I ordered 4 (lengua, barbacoa, pastor and carnitas) and took my seat. Plenty of dining inside and they'll serve your tacos in a tray basket instead of a to-go box. Nice touch for a hole in the wall. Tacos came out and boy they looked good. Luckily, they tasted good too! The standouts being the lengua and barbacoa hands down. The tacos were presented beautifully and were filled to the brim. Honestly, they were larger than I anticipated. Good flavors all around, just wish the meat was a bit more flavorful. Tortillas tasted fresh, as well. Seems like they're under new ownership and making improvements. Worth checking out in Colorado Springs if you need a taco fix or a quick lunch!

The menu was full of unique dishes! I had to get the quesabirria tacos. They were delicious. Very unique. The soup that came with it was also great. It was a broth with added pieces. The whole meal was delicious.

One of the best tasting Mexican dishes I have had! Truly a place I'd enjoy visiting again and again! Great flavors and delicious melon drink!

If you don't speak Spanish, you'll be treated differently. Sometimes I feel unwanted there and other times I'm ignored.

Stopped in for a quick dinner before the CC game with my son. He ordered the birria tacos and I got cheese enchiladas. Oh! And we shared some churros. Walking in I knew we picked the right spot. The place smelled amazing! Everyone eating looked so happy, and the place always had a steady line of people waiting to order the whole time we were there. My son said his tacos were some of the best he's had in the springs. My enchiladas were packed with cheese and flavor. The plates were huge also! Zero complaints on our end.

Stopped in per a recommendation, and was not disappointed! I had three taco, asada, carnitas, birria and a Mexican Coke. The meal came with grilled onion, radish and a roasted jalapeño. Sauces were also provided, and I added cheese on all three tacos - delicious! The bill was a hefty, $17 (plus a tip), but worth every bite!

I went here on a date and while that didn't go well, the rest of my experience here was amazing! I got the birria tacos. Huge portions and fast service. I found the restaurant to be exceptionally clean and the prices are good.

The food is incredible! And the staff is extremely friendly I love everything about this place. I order from here atleast once a week. Their birria quesadilla is phenomenal. We also tired their Mexican style hot dog and super nachos. We were in heaven to say the least. A must try!

Huge portions, fresh ingredients, cooked with care, ordered off DoorDash. Arrived quickly and was still hot, enough food for several leftovers. Everything was delicious, will order again, found a new gem in town. This will be a go to from now on. Highly recommend, even the kids orders easily could feed an adult.

Second time in here. Very clean, employees friendly and good food comes out quickly. Authentic Mexican food. Have eaten the Birria tacos, Quesabirria (birria with cheese), the ground beef and carnitas tacos with fresh fried shells. In the shopping center where My Sister's Kitchen was for years. Order at the counter and get called by number. Brisk takeout business. Very comfortable tables and padded benches. Watch out for the fried Serrano chili! Will be back again and again!

This place is so incredibly tasty! Highly recommend. We went in around 8pm tonight. As we walked in it smelled so good of birria. There was 5 different families and friends finishing their meals. We walked in and ordered to-go, but next time we will be eating there! Very clean, simple decor, we waited less than 10min for $47 worth of food. We got a lot and everything was so tasty! I also got a medium horchata and really enjoyed it. We will definitely be back and bring family and friends in tow.

We stopped by on a Saturday afternoon. It was pretty dang busy. Good sign. There isn't a lot of room in there and the order/pickup is a bit confusing. My husband got the birria tacos and I got the chile relleno plate. Both were spectacular. Even the beans were awesome. There is a lot of beef in the birria tacos. The dipping broth was very good. Hubby ate every bite and couldn't believe we did not know about this place before. The chile was very good. We'd go back in a second...and we plan too. There were a lot of people talking about doing a mobile order and that is not a bad idea. The place is a little small and we found it to be extremely loud. But all in all it is a 5 star place. Give it a try.

Great barbarian quesaliia, rice, and beans! I'm a gringo, so both hit sauces were too hot for me, but to each her own, right? I ordered through DoorDash, and my food was delivered promptly, which would mean their service was on par with being pretty good. I'm looking forward to try their biriani tacos on my ne t order.

This place is hidden and if you're not paying attention you will miss it. I was searching for something to eat and really wanted some tacos so go to Yelp of course and see this place nearby and figured why not! These birria tacos were delicious. They don't have a huge variety of food like other places but enough to make you really think hmm what should I get. I do feel it is a bit pricey but then again what isn't these days. Definitely a place I'd come back to try something else.

Best little hole in the wall place to get authentic and tasty tacos and quesadillas. I loved quesabirria. It was flavorful, moist and perfect for the grease I was craving. My bf got the barbacoa tacos which were perfectly seasoned and not over done, and the pastor taco which he said couldve been a little more soft-- but still delicious. All in all, this place is a hidden gem.

If you like flavorful, banging, spicy Mexican food - no holds barred, this is the place! Birria tacos , quesadillas birria, tacos are all to die for! The spicy pork broth was a surprise (consume?) was the best i have tasted. Loved to chili side too.

Ive seen this place a few times while driving by and made a mental note that I needed to give it a try, as I love a hole in the wall joint. I went with birria tacos. You get three tacos for $11 along with the condiments lime, jalapeño, radish, onion, and hot sauce and of course the birria consume. This was an excellent meal! I freaking loved it. The only reason I didn't give them 5 stars is because you do not get tortilla chips. Mexican food and tortilla chips go hand-in-hand. Other than that, I was completely satisfied. Give them a try.

So bomb like genuinely so good. The workers are so nice, food comes out so fast, such a nice interior, and most importantly the food is AMAZINGGGG. I had the Birria with and without cheese and omg it is to die for. I am from New Jersey and I'm thinking of coming back just for this.
