"I’d grab savory empanadas from El Porteño Empanadas at San Francisco’s Ferry Building Marketplace, which the article highlights as a casual vendor stop." - Lauren Dana Ellman Lauren Dana Ellman Lauren Dana Ellman is a New York-based writer and editor who specializes in travel, lifestyle, food, and shopping content. Hitting a San Francisco Giants Game? Here’s Where to Eat and Drink Near Oracle Park

"Many know this empanada dealer from its Ferry Building stall, but fewer realize there’s a whole storefront on Second Street. Alfajores and cold brew are a deadly combo, and one can get them until 8 p.m. for those wild South Beach nights. The restaurant is closed on weekends as of spring 2024, though, so this one is for the games throughout the week." - Lauren Saria, Paolo Bicchieri

The Best Restaurants and Bars in SoMa - Eater SF

"Before a Giants game on a hot day, those things that happen in San Francisco once every two million years, a cold brew is as important, to a coffee fanatic, as the ticket to the game itself. Just a block away from the ballpark is this Argentinian empanada and coffee shop. Alfajor de dulce de leche cookies for dunking in the shop’s Roast Co brew — which is sweet and well-bodied — might be the perfect accompaniment." - Paolo Bicchieri, Eater Staff

Loved their cappuccino ❤️. We empanadas melt in your mouth. No seating, but we took it to the pier benches and enjoyed our quick breakfast. Our choices: Carne(beef) and Champinion(mushrooms)

I was interested in using Blackbird to pay for my empanadas here, but the employee kept insisting that they only allow Blackbird for drinks and that it was not redeemable after 11am. Even after I explained to him three times that I didn’t want a drink and just wanted to pay for the empanadas using Blackbird he still didn’t understand that simple concept. I don’t understand why a business would partner with companies like Blackbird and not train/explain how to handle transactions properly. Honestly the empanadas were cold and stale as well, so I wouldn’t come back.

I Was in town for work, and had to go back after my first try! Their shrimp empanadas are amazing and all of their fresh brew Yerba Mates are phenomenal! + Customer service is the best in town! Great place can’t wait to be back!

Google
2 stars at best. Due to all the raving reviews, I was very excited to try the shrimp empanada. Not only was it a bit fishy but the small pieces of shrimp inside was probably the worst I've ever had. It tasted very overcooked, dry, and rubbery. At $7 per empanada- they don't offer ANY free sauces, not even hot sauce which is absolutely unheard of for an empanada place. They have chimichurri for sale but the prices are ridiculous. $1.50 for a small 1 oz size. I would pay 0.75- max $1 for the sauce but $1.50 is too much for that size. With that said, the beef empanada was decent but not good enough to make me want to return.

Such a great place to grab food before the game. Everything made is delicious and we decided to come back 2 days in a row while visiting town. Thank you so much and hope to stop in again when we are in SF again.

Great service and incredible food! The Maradona was our favorite but we'd eat every one of them again! And Quilmes on tap!
