Floating bar, marina breezes, and seafood tacos right on the bayfront—locals still call it Tavern on the Bay. Visit Corpus Christi highlights it for casual coastal plates, drinks, and a sailing‑obsessed sense of place.

Board the Japonica at the downtown marina for BYOB bay cruises with skyline, bridge, and USS Lexington views; dolphins often cameo. Regional travel writers frequently recommend it as a breezy pre‑ or post‑dinner hour on the water.

The atmosphere here was spot on. Part of the marina. I really enjoyed the fried shrimp and my server was amazing. The only downside was my taquitos. They had great flavor but were cold in the middle. Like refrigerator cold. The server offered to replace them but I had eaten about half of them despite the temperature issue because the flavor was amazing so I didn’t feel right about getting a new order. Just enough to keep from a 5 star rating, but everything else was great!

Google
Good food & cool atmosphere. The fans and breezes made the patio tolerable even in the midday sun and I'm a "big guy".coconut shrimp were crispy but the shrimp were still cooked perfect. She had the fish and chips. The only thing that would have made this place better would be live music.

Google
The food here is fantastic. First time here and I gotta admit even sitting outside they have fans so that way it is tolerable and the atmosphere here looking at the water while you eat is the best. Our waiter is attentive. Everybody should come here at least once and enjoy eating on the water.

Google
This was a pretty cool place. We actually ate on the water and you could feel it move the whole time. I had the server suprise me with a fish and it was really good, the unicorn fish. Slightly over cooked, but the sauce was awesome. Everyone was pretty happy with their food. Looking forward to going back and getting surprised again on a new meal!

We arrived at Harrison's Landing and were immediately seated on the patio. They do allow dogs, and the patio is covered, which made it a comfortable spot. We ordered drinks while we waited for dinner later that evening. They had a few drink specials, and we went with the Prickly Pear Margarita. It was solid. They also brought out ice water for our dogs, which was a nice touch. The only downside was the bathroom situation. The restrooms are located inside the gift shop, and there are only two available. Since it was a Saturday and just after 1 p.m., the shop was pretty busy and there was a bit of a wait to use the bathroom. Not ideal, but nothing major. We had a great seat by the water with a nice view. The overall atmosphere was relaxed, and the drinks were good. We appreciated being able to have our dogs with us. We didn’t eat this time, but we plan to come back and try the food on another visit.

We're visiting Corpus Christi and found out about this lil gem. The service and food is great and it's fun to sit outside on the water. The only thing I did not care for were the birds that were flying around trying to grab food, they weren't dive-bombing anyone though. The platters are plentiful, my sister and I shared the fish and chips. It tasted great. The oil used to fry the fish was clean and the flounder tasted fresh. We each got the El Jimador Margarita since it was the drink dé jour. Our server was Sabrina B. She was friendly, attentive and efficient. Thank you Sabrina. There's a gift shop next door and patrons get 20% off, just show your receipt. We will return to this establishment.

Google
This is a great spot and the service is great. We had some delicious drinks and the blackened chicken sandwich was delicious. The menu is mostly seafood but they have burgers and salads also. The vibe is amazing and the reason we eat here. You are right on the water. 🤩

Google
Perfect place on the water to have lunch! Parking was nearby restaurant is not that big but does have a floating dock where you can sit and eat while it’s moving on top of water . There was a nice breeze , wait staff was friendly . We ordered the shrimp cocktail, which was delicious. We also ordered the shrimp tacos. absolutely amazing and tasty. Not all beers on tap were working . Friendly Cool place for lunch date .

Yelp
This place is such a hidden gem! My partner and I went cause we heard they changed their menu and saw it on instagram and thought, why not. They are DOG FRIENDLY!!!! And dogs have their own little menu!!! I absolutely loved it. Our server was amazing!!! She was fast, had a great personality and could not ask for a better waitress. She recommended the cord taquitos, which were honestly the best thing of the night. (Thank you Gwen) The fried fish was also the best I have ever had in my life, and my partner said that she really liked her tiki grill as well, no complaints! We were also able to order virgin pina coladas; totally worth it! Over all, the only thing I would be wary of is that fact that it is all outside, so plan accordingly. There is also a cute gift shop, where if you are at the restaurant, you get 20% off your order. Don't miss the mariner upstairs either, such a cute place and my whole experience was just perfect. tldr. So worth it!! Recommend -corn taquito -tiki grill -fried fish -pina colada -Gwen's section Not Recommended -Nothing to note!

Yelp
Came here around mid-afternoon, a little hard to find just because they were in the middle of construction, but turned the corner and found them. It's a cute little place, it sits on the small section of the water so you can see the area where the boats are docked at. We started the meal with the Chips and Queso. The chips were warm, and the queso had good flavor. For the meal, we ordered the Shrimp Tiki Grill, Fish and Chips, and Blackened Redfish Fish Tacos. The Shrimp Tiki Grill had really good flavor, the sauce (got on the sauce to try first) was absolutely delicious, one of those sauces that was so good that we could just eat that with a spoon! This was the Gluten-Free meal, even though there were a couple of options. The Fish and Chips were good. The fry on the fish was crispy, but it needed more salt. The chips (fries) also needed more seasoning and salt. The fish tacos were good, the fish was a little dry but the seasoning and flavor of the fish was great, the chipotle mayo sauce was yummy, and I ended up getting more. The tortillas are NOT gluten-free, they are made with both corn AND flour, but tasted really good and were cooked perfectly with the perfect amount of crispy but softness to them. Our waitress did a really great job. When we first asked the questions with Gluten-Free, rather than what most wait staff do of just guessing, she actually went straight to the chef and spent quite a while talking to them to get the right food choices that we could eat that were safe. Very much appreciated.

Yelp
Took one bite of the firecracker shrimp and realized it was only half-cooked. Took the server 10 minutes to come by after dropping them off, and when she did she ignored the uneaten appetizer. Closed our check immediately and left.

Yelp
Great service! I have an allergy to shellfish and they made sure to accommodate me! Great flip flop place after a day at the beach or on the boat. They have a doggy menu!! So bring your pooch! We will be back on our next trip to corpus!

Yelp
We wanted to eat close to or around the Selena memorial and decided on this restaurant. I was apprehensive of coming here because of its 3 1/2 stars along with some of the reviews. I wasn't sure if it was going to be good, thankfully I was wrong! We went on a Sunday evening around 7, and it wasn't busy at all. I think with school starting the week or following weeks, it seemed a bit slow. We were seated immediately by some very nice hostesses. They sat us on the floating area towards the back of the restaurant which is incredibly nice! The hostess gave us a tip to save some French fries or bread to throw at the fishes on the side of the restaurant as a little treat for the kiddos! The ambiance is really nice with seating outside. They have nets to try and keep the birds away. Beautiful scenery for a nice meal! Our waitress Robyn (Robin) was very nice, informative and you can tell she works very hard at her job! She was attentive, quick and no matter whatever we threw at her, she handled it with care and grace! What we ordered: Chips & Queso: came out fast and piping hot! My great nephew, who is THE world's pickiest eater, tore this Queso up!! It comes with chunky tomatoes, and we couldn't tell if there was anything else in it because all the kids just ate it up! It was very good, just not enough!! Wish there were free refills :-) Mahi Mahi tacos: we got it blackened and it was excellent with the mango salsa! The fries were crispy and seasoned great! Bill's Burger: my son said it was juicy and an excellent burger. He's a hamburger connoisseur! He ate the entire thing and said it was really good! Salmon with mango salsa: the salmon was cooked perfectly. It was blackened and seasoned to perfection! The mango salsa gave it an extra brightness and acid to the dish. The rice pilaf and green beans were good too! I'm not a fan of these kind of green beans because they tend to be rubbery to me but they were perfectly cooked and seasoned! I've been trying to eat less but I couldn't help but clean my plate in one sitting! Redfish Casino: this dish packed a punch, not only because the fish and lobster were cooked and seasoned perfectly but the hollandaise sauce took it to another level! We could have bathed in this sauce! My husband, puts salt on everything but he didn't have to with this dish, which is amazing! My daughter ate most of his lobster because she loved it! He cleaned his plate! Pasta Alfredo w/shrimp: my great nephew and daughter split this dish because he's just a toddler and my daughter is 8. Again, my great nephew is the pickiest eater I've ever met but he tore through this pasta like it was candy!!! My daughter, at first glance, wasn't impressed but once I mixed it and she tasted it, she said it was amazing! I had some of her shrimp and I know sometimes it's hard to pack any flavor into a shrimp unless it's cooked and bathed in a sauce/rub but this shrimp was excellently seasoned! My tastebuds were happily impressed! I'm not sure why this restaurant has 3 1/2 stars because the service, the ambiance and more importantly the food was on point! I would highly recommend this place if you're around the area! It's right down the street from the Selena memorial as well! Great food, excellent area to walk around before or after your meal!

Yelp
Honestly a great stop on the way to Port Aransas! Good seafood and happy hour! Michelle was our waitress and today was her first day, but she did an incredible job! The restaurant is floating on the water in the bay and you are surrounded on 2.5 sides.
google avatar

Walt N.

Yelp
So disappointing. We stopped on the way to Port as, as we've had drinks here several times and they are always good. We shared the fish / shrimp platter and was highly disappointed. The fries were not fresh, the fish was flavorless and not flakey. The shrimp were the saving grace, but the batter was way too thick. Daniella did a great job serving. She was energetic and friendly. We sat on the floating tiki bar. Best seats in the house.

Yelp
What a great day date for my husband, son and me! Totally enjoyed the floating pier and watching the boards near the marina. Calamari was surprisingly good--cooked a tad longer than I prefer but good nonetheless! The dipping sauce was great! Enjoyed the fried oysters! Very fresh! Hubby really liked the coconut shrimp and said the fried flounder was good--he prefers it cooked differently! My son said the burger was one of the best things he's ever put in his mouth! Water was cold and the service was great! Drinks looked great!

Yelp
Great spot for lunch right on the water. I was in town one weekend and the wait time can be pretty long during the day, but it the food and relaxing scene was well-worth it. Red snapper was that great light-fresh you hope for.

Yelp
Food always good. The atmosphere is awesome And service is always on point! Thanks Harrisons!!

Yelp
We pulled in seeking some authentic seafood since we were in a coastal town. It had just rained so the floating patio was closed, but we were seated in main dining area and server Emma promptly and patiently took our order. Queso came out right away and we all loved it! Crispy warm chips and great queso, we opted not to have shrimps Kids got grilled cheese and fruit cup and burger and fries. Fries are absolutely amazing!! Son said burger was good.. Our entrees came out soon after. My fish and shrimp perfectly cooked; the sauce asparagus and dirty rice a perfect combinations I like my redfish better than the salmon, but I'm not a huge salmon person. My wife enjoyed her salmon and we finished off our plates in great time while enjoying the sounds of the ocean. Food was fairly priced, good service in a fantastic locations

Yelp
What a delightful time we had on the sunset cruise in Corpus Christi Bay. The captain and the tour guide were wonderful to us, and we enjoyed their great service. The captain allowed both of our sons to man the helm and I had a chance to have really good conversations with the tour guide. Highly recommended!

Yelp
We had a great time on the Japonica cruise, crew was friendly funny and very informative. Highly recommended

Yelp
The last time I was here was a few years ago and I really enjoyed the food, so I decided to come back. Our host led us to the floating outdoor patio. You have to be a bit careful walking on it if you're not used to the ground beneath your feet moving with the waves, but that added to the sea life vibe. It is early November at the time of this review and the weather is cool and breezy outside. It is not hot at all. I ordered the fried chicken sandwich and my sister ordered the fish and chips. We also had the lobster hush puppies for appetizers. One thing I noticed is that the hush puppies seemed to have changed. According to our server, they changed the recipe to add more lobster meat and less batter due to overwhelming customer feedback on them. I think it's a plus that a restaurant actually listens and takes action on something that their customers ask for. My chicken sandwich and fries were flavorful and decently crunchy. My sister said she didn't care too much for the batter on her fish. It tasted like chicken batter instead of fish batter. I noticed that my chicken also had a hint of fishy flavor too, but that did not bother me. I assume the cooks are using the same type of batter to cook both the fish and the chicken. Overall, I give this place 4 stars. I thoroughly enjoyed the food and restaurant venue. Nice job!

Yelp
Ok so I'm updating my review from 4 years ago. We just got back to Texas after traveling for my husbands job and we landed in Corpus. I love the atmosphere here so I was like, let's try again. 1000 times different! The service was outstanding. (We always sit at the bar and our bartender Robin was one of the best ever!) BUT THE FOOD!!! Delicious!!! I love that I asked Robin suggestions and she was honest. She reccomended the Ahi tuna for me and I'm a little skittish about ordering that unless I know...NAILED IT!! So absolutely delicious. My hubby ordered some redfish dinner and it was wonderful! This will be my new go to place now that we are back!! Way to turn it all around!!! This just goes to show...give places another chance.

Yelp
It's a neat place to dine with the floating outdoor patio above the water. Staff seemed friendly enough but I never got my margarita even after reminding them. It was a hot day and I really wanted to have it with my meal. I told the waitress and she didn't do anything about it. At least she didn't charge me for it. I had the lobster bisque which was good but a bit greasy. I also had the grilled shrimp tacos and the shrimp was really bland looking. The sauce they include made it taste really good but later on my stomach was hurting so bad. There's nothing grilled about this shrimp. My second taco tortilla started to stiffen up by the time I got to it. I wish I had a better experience because it's a peaceful spot right on the water. Oh well.

Christina W.

Yelp
Our server, Gwen, was AMAZING! Very helpful and attentive! The redfish strawberry salad, lobster bisque, crazy Cajun entree, and cookie butter banana pie were all DELICIOUS!! I highly recommend!
google avatar

Bill W.

Yelp
Our 02.16.25 experience with this restaurant was FANTASTIC! The food was outstanding. Their Cajun blackened, incredibly well-seasoned redfish and shrimp dish was the best prepared seafood we'd tasted in Corpus Christi (and for that matter anywhere) in a long time! Not only was the seafood great, but the Bill's Burger was a fresh and filling delight. The waitstaff was courteous and attentive. We were welcomed immediately. Parking was easy. The atmosphere was neither pretentious nor unexpected; but it was clean and comfortable. Everyone we encountered was genuine, smiling, and top notch. It was a pleasant place to eat and drink with views of both docked boats and the downtown shoreline. Come here without hesitation. You won't be disappointed!

Phil T.

Yelp
Redfish sandwich was fantastic! Banana Cookie Butter pie was insanely good! Thanks to Robin for wonderful suggestions and excellent service! Returning next time i'm in Corpus!

Yelp
Food was ok, our appetizer, queso and chips was the best of the items we ordered. Server was great! Nice casual atmosphere. Seated promptly. Good for a casual lunch. Unfortunately, we will probably not be back for the food.

Yelp
We tried to get a table . The staff seemed very confused, we walk to the back and they wanted to set us in the sun against the nets. Man it just looked Dirty everywhere... We said no thanks and left. I think we made the right call. Oster bar is amazing

Yelp
The food was delicious! Service was great and the location radiated the location! I had a few different dishes and they tasted great.

Yelp
This place has a great location. The outside seating is on a floating deck, and comes with great views. Location is great, but the food is just meh. I was looking for some seafood with Corpus Christi being on the coast, and the restaurant next door that I wanted to go to was closing in half an hour. I liked that this place was open later so we would have time to relax and I wouldnt be putting in orders to the kitchen late. Opted for the Mariner since it had a variety of seafood on the plate. The lobster cake was great as well as the charred shrimp. The wild rice had a strange herb flavor that I couldnt quite place. Pretty off putting. The star of the show was supposed to be the Mahi, and it was buffet quality. Dry and bland. Two of us had ordered the Mariner, and neither finished the Mahi. From the bland Mahi to the gift shop, this place seems way too touristy and theyre trying to make a buck from appeasing the masses. Service was great. IIRC we were the only table aside from some folks at the bar.
google avatar

Lauren M.

Yelp
Great views! We visited on a weekend and this place was busy. The location and views make this place a crowd favorite. We sat in the tiki bar area to avoid a long wait time. It's a floating bar so you move a bit with the water from time to time. The food portions are big. Two people could have shared one entree. Our favorites were: the coconut shrimp and the bacon wrapped shrimp. The beers and pina coladas also went done smoothly on a hot day.
google avatar

Nicole E.

Yelp
Went here with our dog and had wonderful service with wonderful food! On the water and great gift shop!

Yelp
If you are looking for an average food, with great vibes and fast food service, this is the place for you. The tacos did not have any flavor and it felt like something was missing. The shrimp boil, was alright and it fills you up more than you think. The fries are super good though.

Yelp
Staying downtown Corpus and wanted to find dinner on the bay. Harrison's was the first place to pop up, so decided to stop by. Came in on a Wednesday evening by myself right around 5pm and was able to get a seat at the bar with no issues at all. It also looked like there were plenty of tables open too. The bartender was extremely friendly and very informative on the menu. They have a great happy hour and the views are even better! I got Bill's burger for my entree. This is cooked to order and it came out the perfect temperature and it's a good sized burger for the price you pay. The fries were AMAZING. After dinner I stopped by the little gift shop. It has tons of gifts for anyone on your list. They also have boat tours available and space that can be rented for events, etc. I will for sure stop back in here for dinner when back in town. I may wait until later in the evening when the temp drops some as it can get a little warm in the bar area while having dinner.
google avatar

Yelp
Above all else regarding Harrison's Landing is their Japonica boat tour. Took the tour Monday and it was great. Captain Phil and first mate Emily were awesome. Both were super friendly, experienced, relaxed and accommodating. We were a full cruise that got bumped up due to weather. They even waited for a couple who were finding a parking spot. The seas were choppy but the crew was professional and calm. All the kids got a turn behind the wheel for a picture. It was my daughter's 21st birthday and they treated us like family. We saw dolphins, the Lexington and the port. So much fun.

Yelp
We came down to corpus for the day and was going to eat some dinner before heading back home. This placed popped up on pet friendly places so we we're interested since we had to of our pups with us. Checked others reviews on this places and figured hey why not ? Let's give it a shot! And I'm glad we tried it! We were greeted by a sweet friendly worker who instantly sat us outside. Then immediately greeted by a incredible waitress. I don't remember her name which I'm bummed out about because man oh man she was beyond incredible! And came out with a bowl of water for our doggos! She gave us some time to look over the menu. We ended up getting plain hush puppies and a shrimp cocktail. We all were fans of the hush puppies, perfect crisp and delicious flavor. We weren't much fans of the shrimp cocktail. The flavor of the shrimp was just off I suppose. We ended up putting in our orders and waited a decent amount of time for our order. It wasn't extremely long nor incredibly fast. It was the usual time you'd wait. Everything tasted really fresh and so flavorful. Perfect crisp on my fish and the texture of the fries were immaculate. Same thing for the popcorn shrimp. My 6 year old loved them. The burger was *chef kiss* incredibly with a nice spice to it! Along with their brand new item which I don't remember the name of! So incredible! Like I said just super fresh and full of yummy flavors! The seat that we had, we were able to watch the sunset and oh man was it beautiful! 10/10 definitely recommend!

Yelp
On Yelp and in life in general at some point you will have a bad experience at a business. This is the irrefutable truth of the human condition. Two years ago a "labor shortage" would be directly responsible for this. But now, I feel it has become a place's readily chosen excuse. Such was my experience at Harrison's Landing in an idyllic part of Corpus Christi. My partner and our copilot decided to search for a pet friendly beachside bar and grill. A name that came up for such a place in Corpus was "Harrison's Landing." We made the 2ish hour trek over here only to regret that decision. Corpus is very touristy, thus it is guided by the seasons. By October the crowds taper off and there usually is no wait for a table. If you can find parking in the front of any area on the beachside it usually means it's not busy. We found a parking spot right up front. The hostess said they allow dogs in but you are seated in a designated area. This was not an issue. So a server came and took our orders which lead us to believe that we would be getting table service that afternoon. Firstly in the menu beers were out of a local brewer, you can only get here. Again, not an issue. The main issue came after we ordered After what seemed like an eternity the bartender, who did not take our order said from the counter, "Your order is ready!" We were absolutely befuddled. Does our server take our order and then we pick up our own items? Nothing was ever communicated to us or should I say no one communicated to us. Which made us feel invisible. After we finished our drinks and appetizers no one checked in on us. Even the seagulls, who were flocking were like, "at least the tourists throw us some bread." One of my biggest Yelp pet peeves is being ignored or at least the perception of it. We kept looking back and no one cared. Service was M.I.A. The thing that got me going was seeing a party of five being seated right next to us. The server was totally schmoozing the patrons with a Broadway-esque rendition of "Chicago." She was gliding everywhere. Serving and refilling drinks. Which begged the question "We are in the same section as these people, why aren't we being served?" So we waited and waited and no one checked on us. I said let's wait for our ticket, pay it and leave. Again, no one came around. As much as this pains me to say I said "Let's go!" I bolted out but my partner, who happens to be virtuous went to the front to cash us out. The bartender and server both ran to the front with our ticket. It's sad that it takes this mode of action to be noticed. The whole time the manager said that that area is a designated place without service. If that was true why was a party seated next to us with full service? I do appreciate that the manager who was apologetic and did comp our appetizers. However that act alone was not enough to squelch the bad experience rendered that day. Corpus Christi whilst touristy is idyllic and a must for building memories. You pass by places and wonder how they are. I once had "Harrison's Landing" penciled unto my bucket list. But an experience with an inattentive service where my company and I felt invisible should never be the desired effect. The good thing about pencils is that they come with erasers.

Yelp
Thank you for a wonderful dinner! Robin provided terrific service and food was great.

Yelp
I am normally not a huge fish person but I thought I should stop and get some while I was here in Corpus, my fish and chips were fantastic! My server Michael was kind and did a great job making me feel welcome!

Yelp
A few months ago I decided to try an early dinner at Harrison's Landing and I'm incredibly glad I did. It was just after 6 pm and the weather happened to be fantastic so I sat outside. I was dining on a Friday evening & they had offered a $6.50 top-shelf Margarita so that's what I ordered. I also ordered the shrimp salad but unfortunately it was tiny & I had skipped lunch that day I was hungrier than normal so I decided to order the Caribbean salad + shrimp as well and oh my lanta! That was incredibly decadent! Fortunately for me, it was my birthday so dining with a gift card was wonderful. My server was Monty & he was so charming. The entire experience was memorable. I'll definitely return. The ambiance was Zen & lovely... the vibe was inviting. Parking was a breeze. I highly recommend this venue.

Yelp
Staff and service were wonderful! Michelle had water ready for our pups and provided great service. Fido friendly menu was adorable and our pups loved their burger patty and pup cups! Food was delicious!

Yelp
We arrived on a very hot summer afternoon,  ready for pur tastebuds to be quenched. We were not disappointed.  The Monsoon--tasty mango puree and mix of spirits--was awesome! The Thunderhead Mojito had the perfect balance of rum and mint. Glasses were cloudy with water spots. The mahi was cooked well, but the guacamole sub par. As for staff: Paloma was incredible! Loved Abby P!

Yelp
Food, service and ambiance. When I realized we would be arriving within 15 minutes of closing time, I called to see if we could be accommodated. We could and we were!! Food was great and love that it floats on the water. "Water" drink was delish too (I don't recall the proper name)!!

Michelle M. was our waitress. She was outstanding! She gave us great suggestions and answered all our questions. The food was delicious: burger and redfish tacos with strawberry cheesecake for dessert! We will definitely be going back!

Yelp
Food was very good; our group had fish and chips & Caribbean salads one with chicken the other with salmon all was good. Draft beers with frosty mugs. Only watch out is that the indoor seating is indoor under roof but not climate controlled. That was not clear in the description.

Yelp
The view from the patio at this restaurant is nice and is of the area where the boats are docked. The service was excellent and the food was delicious. I got the redfish, my sister got the salmon, and the fish the guys ordered were all delicious.

Yelp
We had Fish and Chips for $18. The fish was over fried a bit and very crusty. The fries were good, but the two hush puppies were tiny. The fish and chips were the cheapest entrees, the rest were in the $30 range. I guess I should have researched more because the only inside dining was still outdoors, just under a simple roof with garage door type walls. It was extremely warm and the only cooling were fans.

Yelp
Wow! So glad we came here this evening. Monty was an awesome server and Sharon made us feel right at home. My husband had the shrimp boil and I had the Diablo shrimp. Very tasty and presentation of food was so inviting. The caramel cheesecake melts in your mount. You gotta come here when you are in Corpus Christi. Sitting out on the bay is so relaxing.

Yelp
Stopped by on a whim looking for affordable food on the bay, and they did not disappoint! Great food, affordable prices, and good happy hour selections. Outside seating overlooking the marina.. had a great time!
