Dorsia Hotel & Restaurant

From the very beginning, the experience starts with the arrival. First, my senses were intrigued—honestly, it was a bit difficult to find the entrance, as there was no bright sign on the street, or at least none that I could clearly see in the dark since I arrived late in the evening. When I stepped into the reception area, I was met by a whirlwind of art and colourful impressions. I have rarely seen a hotel reception like this, despite spending more than 200 nights a year in hotels around the world. This place was something special—I could feel it immediately. I was welcomed by a receptionist who truly loved her job, something you don’t often see anymore. In perfect English, she told me about the hotel’s history, showed me around, and explained everything I needed to know to make my stay enjoyable. I felt genuinely well taken care of. The way to my room was easy—an elevator, clear directions—and the room itself was something quite unique. It was full of small thoughtful details: sparkling water by the bed, beautiful glassware, and high-quality porcelain for my coffee. I enjoy having coffee in my room, and seeing royal Danish porcelain here in Sweden actually made me quite happy. The quality of everything in the room, and the condition it was in, impressed me. There was absolutely no wear and tear, everything was spotless. It is rare to find a hotel room without a single stray hair or tiny dust particle—things that usually get overlooked because everything has to happen so fast these days. But here, it feels like everything is truly in order. They have taken their time, and they have put effort into it. It is genuinely a pleasure to visit a hotel where they care—where it isn’t just a business, but a passion. And you can see that here. The artworks on the walls aren’t cheap prints or reproductions bought online to create a certain “style.” The entire atmosphere feels created with heart and soul, and you sense that as a guest. That is why I will come back to Dorsia. Come here for an authentic experience—not just a hotel stay like you can get anywhere else. Here, you are not just checking into a hotel. You are visiting people who truly care about their guests.

This hotel sure is a "lot". Just look at the pictures. They chose a style and then went all-in for sure. All in all they achieved what they were going for though. A luxurious stay for sure with no real downsides except for the price. The breakfast is excellent too. A big plus for having properly made barista style coffees at breakfast. We had dinner in the restaurant as well which was just as good. If you thought the hotel itself was a bit "much" then don't have dinner in the restaurant! We stayed in the "Large Classic" room, which was massive by Swedish standards with both bathtub and rain shower. A big plus for the huge and very comfortable bed as well.

Visual opulence – but no service worthy of five stars We stayed at Dorsia Hotel on July 27th, 2025 – to celebrate our fifth wedding anniversary. The property is aesthetically spectacular, and the food was very good – but the service and attitude fell drastically short. Despite having personally arranged a table in the main dining room a week in advance, we were abruptly directed to the rooftop terrace upon arrival. Only after insisting (due to health reasons) were we allowed into a side room – beautiful, yes, but completely unprepared. No table setting, no welcome, no staff. We waited alone for over 20 minutes. Later, while still having dessert, the lights were turned off – and we sat in semi-darkness for over 45 minutes. The bill was handed to us without a word, and we had to use our phone’s flashlight to read it. No thank you, no farewell, no acknowledgment of the occasion – even though we had clearly informed the staff beforehand that this was our wedding anniversary. We sent a very polite, respectful letter to management. The reply was friendly in tone, but purely formulaic – with no gesture of apology or goodwill. For a property listed as part of the Small Luxury Hotels of the World, presenting itself as a five-star experience, this level of service is simply unacceptable. The gap between promise and reality is staggering.

Unique hotel. Very beautiful. Its in town so you are near of everything you need. Malin, our waitress, was kind and fantastic. Thank you for this amazing experience and i recommend 100%

Great atmosphere for dating and dinner. We tried the three-course menu, which was good and affordable, but I didn't like the fish; it was a bit smelly.

We were here for a drink on the beautiful terrace and it was a great experience! The host who welcomed us at the door was incredible and made us feel at home immediately even though we weren't staying at the hotel.

Unique stunning boutique hotel. Service was exceptional, food was delicious and staff were very warm and friendly. Fantastic almost whimsical atmosphere! Owner, Thomas Peterson, was present and helped us with all our luggage and was so approachable with understated class! I was apprehensive at first entering hotel and then you start to find all the attention to phenomenal details and you leave hoping to go back again!

After a long day of walking and shopping in the area - wanted a sweet break. Jumped on Yelp and found this spot. So unassuming from the outside - looks closed but definitely make your way in! Lavish inside - you will feel like royalty throughout your time there. The velvet booth was private and a wonderful nook to settle in for a bit while enjoying some bubbly and confection. Desserts take awhile - compiled and composed to order. Our selections were excellent - rhubarb and passion fruit Lovely service - welcoming and gave us just enough attention. Highly recommend this spot and was one of our highlights while in the area!

Wow, is what comes to mind at this moment. The Dorsia is so much more then a hotel, a bar or a restaurant. It's the staff and the space that make it a memorable and return wanted location. From the moment we walked into the space and checked into our room we realized we found a the gem we need more in our lives. The space is masterfully thought out to make one's senses keep looking for more. Nightly stops at the bar became our regular. The cocktail list makes one question how and what some are but after talking with the bar manager one quickly realizes your in for something truly special. Items you would never think would make for a good drink flow together to produce something indescribable.

This is really (!!) Ny favorite place to both eat and have a few drinks in goteborg. It's not only the food and the champagne that makes me want to go back again, and again, and again.. Is the environment. The interior is made with an 1920s style and everything really goes hand in hand. The service is beyond well, and the staff is very well dressed and good looking Worth the money. I'm going back next weekend again

Wow this place is awesome! I haven't stayed at the hotel but if it is anything near the service at the bar it is a five star hit! The staff is very attentive, professional and service minded. They care about the guests, and they should - being guest here you need a loaded wallet. It is pricey but if you care for a extravagant experience I definitely recommend going here for a glass of fine wine and a few small plates of their excellent (beautiful) snacks. The Moulin Rouge kind of decoration is awesome! Black, pink, purple, green - satin, velvet, lace. The waitresses are dressed accordingly. The guys just in grey suits. You can go here for breakfast (SEK 220) or dinner. Or drinks. They accept AMEX.

Absolutely lovely cocktails in a beautiful atmosphere. Be prepared for the bill. The drinks are worth it (we didn't eat as we had just done a tasting menu the night before) but it's a place best for those wanting to treat themselves (or those on an expense account.) The service leaves a bit to be desired. The hostess seemed reluctant to seat us (in a near empty place) and we were never given refills on the water. We also finally had to ask a random passing worker for our check. Still if you are looking for an intimate experience, this is your place.

The restaurant is just astonishing! It has a lot of different areas. Very fancy style. Good service and awesome food. I took the Beef a la lindström and it was delicious.

My girlfriend likes this place, that's why I've been here way too many times. Breakfast is mostly based on gluten, meat and sugars. Brunch is served in the breakfast buffets dishwasher washed old yoghurt containers and called the restaurants "grand finale". Tourists be aware! This is the opposite of the original Dorsia and should not be mistaken with the restaurant we all know and love because of its great quality. Dorsia Göteborg is more or less pure hell.

Love this place. So cool, so hip. One of the best patio bars in Gotenburg. Got to check it out.

What a surprise! Amazing interior, very romantic and cozy! The food was excellent and the service great! Started with a glass of the house champagne in the cool bar and then we got a very nice table. The chairs were very comfortable... A very nice experience in many ways. Now we have to try their hotel!

This had to be one of my favorite bars of all time, nothing about it makes sense but it comes across as something out of the Great Gatsby. Nestled in the lobby of a hotel, the bar has excellent champagne cocktails as well as a full menu of cocktails and wine. Tons of seating and you are sat by a host so no fighting for a table or somewhere to stand. Very friendly staff who can help you navigate the menu if necessary. Would highly recommend for a drink, can get somewhat pricey though a round of drinks was more expensive than our dinner that evening!

A must visit in Gothenburg. It is like stepping into a better dream world at Dorsia. You really feel taken care of here and I would suggest visiting for a drink night time. Interesting crowd and interior to discuss for hours. Their afternoon tea is a bit on the sugary side but otherwise most things they serve are fine. Only complaint is the half whiskey sour we got instead a whole one... One time thing though.

Amazing...had the summer punch and a cod, shrimp, cauliflower, dill dish that was incredible.
