Actor John Boyega Wishes He Could Find the Cayman Islands' Conch Fritters Back Home

"A lovely little restaurant on the water owned by Luigi Moxam. Known for its jerk chicken, rice, plantains, coconut ceviche, and particularly the conch fritters."

"You wouldn’t expect a restaurant that juts into the Caribbean to be a farm-to-fork hot spot, but Cayman Cabana is nothing if not expectation-defying. Despite being located in one of the most commercial parts of Grand Cayman—the historic George Town waterfront—Cayman Cabana is, well, deeply rooted in local agriculture. And while you’ll always find fresh, flavorful seafood and produce on the menu, try to book one of the eatery's Farm-to-Table Thursdays, when the week’s best is served up in course after course (with explanations as colorful as the dishes) at a communal table under the stars. Of course, the menu is forever changing, but past hits have included coconut ceviche and snapper with mango salsa."

Went there specifically for the whole lobster dish my brother raved about on a previous trip. 4 out of 5 for the dish. Lobster was very tasty, however the side dishes could use a little work. The rice and beans could have used more seasoning. The plantains were slightly burnt and the potatoes could have cooked some more. Other sides included corn, carrots and broccoli. These were cooked well. Service was friendly and attentive. Bathrooms were clean. Location was a 2min walk from the cruise port.

Beautiful View! The Manager (not sure he might have also been the owner) came and spoke with us, he had so much pride in the restaurant. And, he very well has every right! Food was amazing! We had the Lobster Lollipops and Seafood Boil.....it was Fantastic! It was plenty food for both my husband and I. I did not get a pic, oops! They also were a sponsor for the Cayman Classic, that is how we learned about the restaurant.

Went here for a late lunch while in port. The service was very friendly and helpful. The food was quite good! The Jerk Chicken was tender and flavorful — the Pick’a’peppa sauce was very good! The fried fish and fritters were very tasty — wish I knew how to make the fritters. The burger was also a solid burger. The deck up top was such a great view! Only remark is that island time is a thing. Don’t be in hurry. Food took a minute to arrive but was worth it! Very good food and not far from the port. Did not feel like a tourist trap.

We just kind of found the Cayman Cabana after getting off the cruise ship. They were still opening up but the bartender welcomed us in anyway. The owner happened to be there at the time and he was so nice and welcoming with our group. The whole staff was very friendly. Food looked so good the first stop so we stopped again on the way back to the boat to grab some lunch and it did not disappoint. We will definitely come again next time we are on the Island.

Had such a great time there the only complaint I had if you didn’t stay at one of their hotels you have to pay $80 usd for a beach chair and umbrella but other than that, I can honestly say I had a great time. It was worth the $80. The food was great. The service was awesome. I love the fact that you can get beachside service order food drinks that was so great. And I love that. They didn’t bring your food out just out in the open they bring it in this little gray container where it’s covered. I love that.

Absolutely the WORST customer experience I have ever experienced in a restaurant!!!! One young lady walking around nonchalantly “trying” to serve half the restaurant. Order two cokes because you’re thirsty, don’t get any for 15 minutes, then they bring one small plastic cup with coke. Order a fish sandwich two hours later they bring out a cheeseburger!

Breathtaking views and unforgettable flavors! We came hoping for a sunset, but even with cloudy skies, the experience was top-tier. My husband ordered the fish market daily special—red snapper—and it was perfectly prepared. I went with the classic “Cheeseburger in Paradise,” and it lived up to the name! It was about a half pound of ground beef patty and was too big to bite into. I had to take a bite off the top and then one off the bottom! It was normally served with fries, but this was so much calorie overload I had a side salad instead. The ice tea was great also. Our server was also very attentive. The outer deck offered panoramic ocean views that were nothing short of spectacular. Cloudy sunset or not, the atmosphere, food, and coastal beauty made it an evening to remember.
