Hemingway's on the Beach

Loved our stay at The Sands and access to Hemingways throughout the day is lovely. The food is fantastic! One day our server told us his brother is the chef, so cool. The service is quick and everyone is very helpful. One woman would serve food/drinks straight to you on the beach. Everyone there tries to make you have a great experience. We loved the dinner at New Year’s Eve and special parade put on by locals. The bartenders are top knotch and i LOVED the mojitos!!

We had a fabulous evening at Hemingway’s. There were six of us and we all thoroughly enjoyed our meals. I looked at the reviews before we went, all were really good. I had the chicken penne pasta. It was to die for. My husband had the porterhouse pork chop and loved it. Desserts are a good portion size. Service was exceptional too.

I visited this restaurant with high expectations, mainly because of its stunning ocean-facing location—and in that regard, it truly delivers. The ambience is absolutely beautiful. Sitting by the ocean, listening to the waves, and enjoying the open, breezy setting creates a calm and memorable atmosphere. It’s the kind of place you imagine enjoying a long, relaxed meal while watching the sunset, and visually, it does not disappoint at all. Unfortunately, the experience falls apart when it comes to food and service, especially for vegetarian diners. The vegetarian options were extremely limited, leaving very few choices on the menu. Essentially, the options were restricted to butter pasta, red sauce pasta, white sauce pasta, and french fries. For a restaurant in such a prime location, this lack of variety was quite disappointing and made the dining experience feel uninspired and poorly planned for vegetarian guests. We ordered the red sauce pasta, hoping at least for decent execution, but it was overwhelmingly sour and difficult to enjoy. The balance of flavors was completely off, and it tasted more acidic than flavorful. The white sauce pasta was equally underwhelming, lacking depth and freshness. Even simple dishes can be done well, but sadly that was not the case here. To end the meal on a better note, we ordered fried ice cream, but that too failed to impress. It was not up to the mark in terms of texture or taste and felt more like an afterthought than a well-crafted dessert. Service was another weak point. While the staff was present, the overall attentiveness and efficiency were lacking, which further added to the frustration. In summary, this restaurant has an incredible location and a beautiful ambience that could easily make it a standout destination. However, the poor food quality, limited vegetarian options, and unimpressive service significantly impact the overall experience. It’s a great place to visit for the view, but if you’re a vegetarian looking for good food, this may not be the right choice.

We got sat down with 30 minutes left for breakfast. We didn't get service until 5 minutes before breakfast ended but were assured we could still order breakfast. After ordering, 10 minutes later the waitress had to ask us to reorder as breakfast was no longer an option. After another 25 minutes our food finally arrived. The waitress was extremely pleasant and personable but the overall service process made it hard for her to provide the best service. The food was mediocre and we were surprised given the atmosphere of the seating area was upscale and very pleasant. I think if you go in expecting a nice atmosphere. Mid level quality food for island prices you'll be satisfied. Given the Number of other options in the area I would expect higher quality.

Such a great place for dinner. Service is island time so just know you will be hanging out for a while but there is live music which was amazing. The breeze and ocean views are amazing. The food is really really good. I have been here multiple times over the last three years. One of the highlights of each trip.

Beautiful view overlooking the ocean especially at sunset. We arrived late afternoon and ordered from the lunch menu which for those who like to eat a little early (5ish), you can save a few dollars. I had the fish and chips which were excellent. Crispy coating and flaky fish inside, just the way that I like it. My family had the Conch Fritters which were also very good.

The lobster and shrimp were way overcooked and not seasoned!! We did take out and were very disappointed with our meals!! We picked this restaurant based on a local suggestion and the USA Today accreditation.

This is my second visit to Turks and my second visit to Hemmingway’s! The second trip to Turks we brought our three boys, and we wanted them to experience Hemingways! We brought them there on our last night in Turks… This trip was to celebrate my 50th birthday with my family! It was a perfect way to end my week lone celebration/vacation! ;) The live music was beautiful, the food was delicious, the Atmosphere was stunning! Carolyn is a gem and we were so grateful to meet her !! We will definitely visit every time we come down to Turks ! #etobicokefam
