Absolutely enjoyed the tour. Even though I have lived in the Denver area for over 20 years it was great intermingling of Denver history, politics, culture, and of course art work. All subjects that makes this girlie happy and all dancy pants.
I appreciate our guide did not hold anything back as far as how the area we toured (Rhino district - also known as Five Points, Globeville, Cole, and Swansea) the various the rises, falls, and now rebuilding of these communities due to the artist that have helped bring back the beauty to the areas.
Interesting thing we learned on the tour were the language of the street art and graffiti artists. Who gets paid (and sometimes paid greatly), who does it for the love/passion/emotional outlet of art. The various forms of street art...spray paint (which I am sure that was everyone's initial thought), wheat paste, stencils (sometimes frowned upon), knits/knitting (if you have leaves in Denver long enough you know about the knitting mafia), paint and brush, etc.
It was completely worth the time and the walk. Great places to eat afterwards. Just wished the tour would have been 1.5 hours instead of 1 hours. Somehow the last 1/2 hour seemed sloooooow. And if the price would have been $20 instead of &30. Other then that, it was great!
