The 18 Best Restaurants In Trastevere - Rome - The Infatuation

"The decor is just as memorable as the food at Pianostrada. The main room has an open kitchen with bar seating, along with vintage mirrors, soft lighting, elegant table settings, and a lush indoor garden in the back. It’s the type of place that’s warm yet sophisticated enough to bring your family or impress a dinner date. The menu changes every few days, but one thing you can always count on is the light and perfectly fluffy focaccia topped with things like stracciatella, anchovies, and tomatoes, or mortadella, pistachio, and honey. And if you spot the ultra crispy suckling pig or creamy zucchini-filled pasta alla nerano on the daily specials menu, order them without question." - annie replogle

"A more modern spot that offers a deconstructed take on fiori di zucca, presenting the flavors of stuffed zucchini blossoms in an inventive, contemporary format rather than the classic battered-and-fried preparation." - Laura Itzkowitz

I've lived in Rome for over 20 years and this evening was the best dining experience I've had yet, everything was perfect. From the moment we arrived we were made to feel welcome by the wonderful team of staff. We sat at the counter giving us a great view of the immaculate kitchen and the amazing chefs who prepared every single dish with great attention to detail, precision and love. The food is fresh, beautiful and full of incredible flavours. I can't praise this restaurant enough. Thank you to the chef/owner her two lovely daughters and the whole kitchen team for a wonderful evening. We'll see you again very soon. James & Roberta.

An instagram friendly place with little substance. We found this place when searching for alternate / fusion food in Rome Italy. The place is built into an old structure with tables at close quarters and non ergonomic seating (think wobbly tables and uncomfortable seats). The decor with fairy lights all over the place looks a bit teeny booper than homely. The place has a history of being a sandwich restaurant and has now evolved into a full fledged dining space. We ordered a portion of their foccaccia with fig jam and ham which was brilliant. We followed this with three appetizers - a tuna in dashi, a fried zucchini flower dish and a pumpkin flower mashed dish. The tuna was fresh but the fritter and pumpkin flower mash were very passable. In the mains we tried their amberjack and veal with mustard sauce. The amberjack was nothing exceptional on the flavours (non imaginative) while the veal with the over powering mustard had to be left behind un eaten. Their cocktail menu is not very creative with pretty standard fare. We tried two which were both just okay. The food was plated very beautifully but failed to impress our palates. The service was friendly but slow. We had to actually wait for 30 minutes after the first two appetizers for the next two. In my opinion the place is far too expensive for what it offers and can be given a miss.

One of the best restaurants I've ever eaten at. The restaurant's design is unique, giving it an atmosphere from another world. The restaurant's owners are pleasant and kind, creating a pleasant atmosphere. The food is excellent with special combinations that create delicious and special dishes. Highly recommended

My girlfriend and I had maybe the best focaccia we’ve ever had in our lives. The overall food and service was excellent and would highly recommend to anyone new or accustomed to Rome. As far as environment goes, they counteracted many restaurant inconveniences (purse on the ground for example) by supplying us preemptive solutions (a stool for the purse). The lights and plants put a cherry on top.
