Potato salad store bought... Tamales store bought out the can nothing is homemade I wish it was better... I'm no chef but, I know how to cook and this food is trash... To spend $75 on 4 link plates and nothing to drink with it is ridiculous disgusting drink machine... The lady had attitude when we asked did a drink come with it... Next time I'll try Memphis bbq

Food was dynamite! Service was kind & attentive. Prices were affordable and better than I expected for tasty BBQ. We had a plate of rib tips & a pulled pork sandwich. I would come back here next time I'm in Memphis.

If you’re in Memphis or the surrounding areas, you have to try this place. Move over Memphis BBQ (Goodman Rd). There is a tastier king in the area. The sauce is one of the sauces you will want to take home. It really is that good. The Okra is made to order (hot and crispy) and the potato salad is out of this world. I paid around $24.00 not including tip. Worth every penny. I will come back prior to me leaving the area. The area isn’t the best (the reason for 4 stars) but the food is well worth making a visit.

Anytime I come over my grandmas house, I come to get us some BBQ. It is always delicious & the customer service is always really nice. One of my favorite places to get BBQ!

Literally hands down the best BBQ I’ve ever had in my life! The potato salad is to die for and then those baked beans omg best baked beans I’ve ever had! This food is made with love and the care and love by employees is very genuine. The sweet tea was a perfect amount of sweet that I could drink all day!! I would recommend for anyone if they’re hungry and want to taste real food!!

We ordered the pulled pork sandwich and pulled beef sandwich. Both were amazing. The young lad that owns the restaurant came out to ask how everything was and was as polite as the day is long. When we are back, we will come in. Thanks for the hospitality.

Super delicious BBQ and wonderful service. One of my favorite BBQ sauces I've had so far in Memphis. The pulled pork sandwich bun was toasted nicely with a generous portion of meat. French fries were lacking a smidge in salt, but salt was available on the table for those that like a salty fry. The sausage link sandwich is a homemade link and was quite good, definitely recommend for those that like sausage! Would love to come back soon and try more on the menu like the rib tips and some more sides.

Stopped by after seeing the Pompeii: The Exhibition at Graceland and was not disappointed! Scrumptious barbecue with all of the fixin's. Everything was fresh, tasty, and very flavorful. My husband and I both had the pork plate with rib tips and pulled pork, fried okra, potato salad, and a cold Corona on the side. Perfection!

What a warm welcome to lunch after a morning at Graceland! We asked for recommendations on what to have for lunch & Mrs. Pollard was very helpful & friendly. We had: pulled pork, rib ends, beef, baked beans, green beans, potato salad, & bbq spaghetti. I had mild bbq sauce, but my hubby chose the hot bbq sauce. We enjoyed everything, especially the potato salad & pulled pork. My hubby loved the bbq spaghetti. So unique & tasty! We were happy to have found this Mon & Pop bbq restaurant! Thanks, Mrs. Pollard, for your hospitality. We'll watch for #20 when Titans play Texans.

Very rude and poor customer service. They need to change the name to Pollard's Ghetto BBQ because of the way the staff behaves. We arrived at the restaurant at 5:20pm and the restaurant closes at 6. I ordered a turkey leg and was informed they were out despite it being on the menu, and that they wouldn't have any for a month (so take it off the menu). So I ordered the nachos with mild sauce. My party sat down at a table and I asked the woman who I ordered from (black lady with plats and glasses) for the password to the "Pollard's Guest wifi". She answers "I don't know. " and walks away. She may not know but could have found out and made no attempt. At 530 the same woman comes to our table with bags and says "We close at 6 so I made your orders to go." and puts us out of the restaurant, locking the door behind us, although it was 30 minutes before close. I tried my nachos and they were spicy, although they were supposed to be mild. DON'T EAT HERE.

Great no frills bbq spot close to Graceland. Service was super friendly and they helped me navigate the menu to get the best grub. Ended up with a turkey sandwich and double baked beans since they were out of green beans for the day. Turkey was juicy and delicious and the bbq sauce was nicely spicy without being too hot. My only wish was they had a sampler platter for multiple meats since they're all only sold by the pound and the double pork plate doesn't include other meats. I wanted to try them all! Don't pass this place up if you're going to see the King!

We were visiting Memphis to see Graceland, and saw this on yelp and decided to give it a try. It's a welcoming atmosphere, easy to order. We got the rib slab plate for two, with sides of baked beans and potato salad. The ribs were tender and coated in a delicious bbq sauce. The baked beans were yummy and tangy. The potato salad was really really good. We also got fried okra which was really good and crispy!

While there was a small mix-up with my initial order (the chopped beef instead of sliced brisket), the team went above and beyond to make it right--bringing out a fresh, succulent portion of smoked brisket that absolutely won me over. What stood out: Flavor that delivers - Once corrected, the brisket was perfect: tender, smoky, and melt-in-your-mouth good. The bark had that ideal caramelized crust, and the meat was juicy, not dry. Beyond pork - Even though Memphis is famous for ribs and pulled pork, their brisket (when prepared right) holds its own. The smoke penetration was spot-on! Top-notch service - The staff handled the hiccup with professionalism and warmth. No excuses--just a genuine desire to make the experience great. Pro tip: Pair your meat with their house-made sauces (the spicy vinegar-based one is a game-changer!) and don't skip the sides--their collard greens had just the right tang. Final verdict: This place earns its reputation. A few bumps happen anywhere, but how a business recovers speaks volumes. I'll absolutely be back--next time, I'm bringing friends!

Stopped by lunch after visiting Graceland. Great Memphis dry rub BBQ and hearty sides. We really liked the baked in BBQ sauce, pleasantly surprised. If you have never had it, definitely worth trying.

I did not get ribs, so maybe that's on me. But, what I had was pretty abysmal. Chicken was unremarkable, as was the sauce. Fries were unseasoned. Beans were average at best. Tamale was pretty good. There used to be so much better 'cue to choose from in Memphis.

This place is simply amazing. The customer service is the best I've received in Memphis. The owner is such a sweetheart. The inside is cozy and welcoming. The bbq was some of the best I've tasted in a long time. The food was hot and delicious. The desert is to die for you must try it. If you're in Memphis and you're looking for some good bbq try this place you will not regret it. Must try the fried okra!

So this place being ranked so high in the Memphis BBQ market is embarrassing. I ordered sliced brisket and got served chopped beef. I understand Memphis is more of a pork town, but it's on the menu. I returned the chopped beef and was served oxidized, old brisket. It was was dry as shoe leather. I get it, if you don't have it tell the customer. I wasn't informed. This place is bad.

Wonderful service, great food. Highly recommend. As a certified Kansas City Barbecue Judge I am picky about my barbecue. This was delicious.

Very nice folks! Plus, the pork ribs were outstanding! Spicy sauce went well with the pulled pork. The dry rub on the ribs was on point!

Stopped by for some Memphis style barbecue. I enjoyed the beef plate with potato salad and fried okra. My hubby enjoyed the rib plate with onion rings and potato salad. Other relatives had the the rib tips. What was different for is (we are from Texas) was the barbecue is served with the sauce on. But the sauce was very good. Overall we enjoyed Pollards.

The food was very good. I will definitely return in the future. Even my brother said the BBQue was excellent, that's a lot coming from him.

We were greeted so warmly when we entered. The food was amazing! We were passing through from Pensacola, FL on our way to Chicago. Will definitely be back if we come to visit Graceland again!

No ,haven't tried Pollard yet but I do plan on going there as soon as possible that'll be sometime soon I'm sure being from Memphis I love me barbecue well catch you later

Stopped by to check out the ribs and the chicken. They both were good. I chose the honey gold chicken and opted for bbq sauce on the side since I like my ribs dry. Will definitely go back.

Came here randomly while searching for BBQ in Memphis. Now its one of my favorite BBQ spots in the city. They have rib tips which are tender and delicious. At the time, they were having a game night for a relative of the owner. Everyone was really nice and the vibe was family friendly. I look forward to coming back.

We tried a few things to include the chopped turkey sandwich topped with coleslaw and sauce, 1/2 slab of ribs and a red link sandwich, sides of green beans and potato salad. Medium heat! All were delicious. Medium was a bit much for me, but still good. I'd go with mild next time on my turkey sandwich. Hubs loved the medium and said it was just the right amount of pepper to taste ratio. It's akin to really good Texas BBQ minus the brisket ( not on the menu). Ribs today were tender not chewy, potato salad was creamy with good mustard taste (not overwhelming) and green beans were not soggy or over greasy. If we lived here, I know we'd eat here often!

Yes!!!! Chopped chicken!!! Thank you for this!! This is one of the only places in Whitehaven/BHZ that has chopped chicken bbq sandwiches besides pork. I walked in for lunch on a Friday and it wasn't busy at all. Maybe I missed the rush? But the cashier was extremely friendly and allowed me to taste the sauce before I ordered. I went with the pulled chicken, spicy sauce, with coleslaw sandwich combo. The inside was clean and they had tons of Tony Pollard, Dallas Cowboys memorabilia. He's related to the owners I believe. Plus there are tv's so you can watch games. Looks like they have a few beers and wines too. I truly enjoyed my sandwich. The spicy wasn't that spicy at all so no worries there. But it was a great sandwich and it is truly Memphis BBQ. Go check them out!

Friendly folks. Chopped sandwich is a winner. It's huge. Will be going back to try the tips.

Stopped by this place while I was in memphis for the weekend. It did take a while to get our food, but it did not disappoint. 2 people in our party tried their bbq spaghetti which they really liked. The ribs were good but a little bit over cooked. I loved the baked beans and the potato salad. Overall we had a great experience and Will be going back the next time I come to Memphis

I had the BBQ platter and it was really good, tons of food, so much BBQ! I wanted to support Pollard's, Tony Pollard played football at the University of Memphis with my nephew Austin Hall. I will be back and continue to support this wonderful business. The restaurant was clean and tidy and Felicia greeted us and was was so warm and friendly. She was very helpful with making my food selections as well. Great job Pollard's, you are just as great at food as your son is with playing football ! Angie Hall

This place is is underrated. Service was friendly .You will have A little wait time but worth it.

The food was amazing. The ribs had great smoke, tenderness and the perfect amount of tug. 3 levels of heat on the sauce. We got the hot and medium. The hot had some kick but didn't sacrifice flavor for heat, loved it. The BBQ spaghetti(amazing). We finished with the dry rub wings which had the perfect seasoning and the skin was nice and crispy. . The customer service was great Personable and friendly. This is a must go when in Memphis. Thank you guys for a great experience.

Some of the best ribs and pulled pork I've ever had. Do yourself a favor and check this place out. Staff was very friendly. 5 out of 5.

We visited this establishment as a result of previous yelp reviews. When we walked in, we were greeted and welcomed. Southern hospitality at its best! We ordered the rib tips with mild barbecue sauce. Oh my goodness! They were so delicious and meaty. When we are back in the neighborhood, we will definitely come back to this restaurant.

Food was 4 Star...good Pork Sandwich with BBQ sauce. Service was a SOLID 5 STAR...Felicia was nice and friendly!! Helpful for a first timer select. They were out of many menu items, mid day...Saturday??? The place itself is 1 STAR....beat to the ground!!!! Parking lot dirty. The place itself is just RUNDOWN looking. Lighting outdated. Tables and chairs, old and very used. The ORDER COUNTER was beat down old used looking. Doors were dark and dingy.

This is THE place! Coming from Texas, we had to try the famed Memphis BBQ. Of course, the brisket was alright but the ribs, THE RIBS, y'all...that's where Pollards shines. Spicy sauce & just tender enough with the best meaty texture, not really fatty. My bf is 6'2" 200+ lbs & he thought he could take down a full rack but the ribs won. We ended up taking the remaining half rack to-go. The fried okra dipped in their spicy sauce were the perfect addition to our meal. Denise in the front treated us like absolute family with simply the best southern hospitality. She made suggestions & offered up the advice that we had to get there early next time to try the BBQ Spaghetti & their potato salad, both of which were sold out. The dining room is a perfectly spare space where you are free to get your hands dirty whilst digging in to some of the best Memphis has to offer. No muss, no fuss...definitely full guts.

Having traveled the country seeking out great barbecue I consider myself an avid aficionado. I can sum up Pollard's in two words. The Best! Their ribs are nothing short of perfect!

The food was pretty good the rib tips were yummy. The sauce was great as well. I love the simple fact that they have multiple sauce choices and you can combine them. I also tried a red hot sausage and it was yummy as well. The only complaint that my partner had was that some of the tips were a little tough for her but I didn't have a problem. Also the okra was also yummy. The prices here are also very reasonable. The lady at the counter is awesome as well. She was very nice and gave us a great conversation while waiting for our food. So if you want some yummy bbq definitely check them out !

I found this gem after searching for a couple of hours. Sunday is not the day to get good food in this area. I thank the Lord that Pollard's was open. I was greeted by a very nice lady when I walked in. She told me that she would be right with me, while taking an order over the phone and helping another customer in front of her. Talk about multitasking. The customer service here is awesome. I ordered the half of chicken with okra and potato salad. Everything was amazing. The okra was cooked perfectly. I'm picky when it come to potato salad and it was good. The chicken was very tasty, slightly dry but very tasty. The sauce is everything. The food was like gong into someone's house and enjoying a home cooked meal. I will be back next time I'm in Memphis.

This hole in the wall will blow you away!!!!! BBQ is done right!! Ribs were delicious!! The hot BBQ sauce was my favorite and the mild was my hubby's preference! Kids had bbq sandwich and burger and really enjoyed it!! Standard French fries, fried tomatoes were alright, but the potato salad was really good!! Probably should have tried the baked beans!!! Service was unbelievable!! The lady who works the counter is hospitable and clearly invested in the business!! Tea is good, tasted fresh!

You need to eat here! We tried several menu items; Pork Sandwich with coleslaw on it was amazing- lots of meat and the BBQ was so good. Very messy! The Cheeseburgers were delicious and the seasoned fries were tasty! The BBQ spaghetti was interestingly good and the baked beans were awesome! 5 stars for everything- including the wonderful ladies working the front. If we lived near here we would eat here all the time!

We were in Memphis visiting Graceland. We wanted some local BBQ and we prefer local "dives" to tourist spots. That's where you usually find the best food. Pollards did not disappoint!! It's only a couple miles from Graceland. Due to Covid, they did not have inside dining available. So we ordered and took it back to our hotel. Pulled pork, rib tip sandwich, fried okra, onion rings, baked beans, and fried pickles. Truly, all were amazing! The meat was "clean" not fatty. The fried pickles were super thin, like a chip. And the baked beans had little bits of pork in them. Highly recommend!

I've cooked enough ribs in my time and kept the leftovers in the fridge to know when I'm eating leftovers and how long leftovers should last. My rib tips on Tuesday were 3 or 4 days old and had been cooked probably on the weekend. They're tough, chewy, and starting to get that spoiled taste. This was the last possible time they could be eaten. I damn sure couldn't save them and heat it again! They think the sauce covers it but it doesn't. Beans and slaw were nothing to be proud of either. For $13 plus, and to be served on paper and plastic, not impressed at all. Robert Irvine needs to check back in on these guys.

If you just finished your Tour of Graceland and looking for great BBQ this is the place. Ordered 1/2 rack of ribs and they were amazing.Very meaty ribs and that BBQ sauce was lip smackin good. Beans and Fried greens tomatoes were delectable. Beef sandwich was very good as well. Highly recommend it's only 6 mins from Graceland and so worth the drive.

That was my first time and my last time going there. Order some rib tips it was full of fatty meat .the little lean that was on it was hard as wood and it wasn't cooked long enough too. Garbage. took that s*** home and Feed it to my dogs, the difference between pollard barbecue and Pedigree dog food is the barbecue sauce. white people coming there and act like they starving Ethiopians and never had food in their life before. that was my first time and my last time I wouldn't recommend that place to nobody but dogs. Go to Corkys or rendezvous downtown and get your taste buds statisified. I give it a 0 star.

Not being from Memphis I was looking for what would be the best BBQ I've ever had. That being what I was told. We found this place on Yelp and gave them a go. Yes, it quite possibly is the best I ever had. Everything from the sauce, ribs, pulled pork, and sweet tea. Unbelievable how excellent it was and the young lady at the counter was as sweet as the tea. If I'm ever blessed to return to Memphis I will definitely be back.

The Pork Shoulder at Pollards is very good. The texture is right, with just a hint of smoke. I ordered the regular sauce, and it was very mild. I'd recommend the Hot BBQ Sauce. As part of my Pork Duo plate, they added Ribs to my plate along with Beans and Potato Salad. The Beans were very good--- a little bit sweet and mild for my taste, but had bits of pork shoulder in them that shows Pollards is doing more than dumping beans in a pan and heating them up. The Potato Salad was the typical Memphis Potato Salad found in BBQ joints--- Mustard/Mayo with pickle and pimento. This seems to be what is expected by many BBQ fans, and this version is tangier than most. The Ribs were 3 1/2 down Spareribs and were average. This cut of rib is an economical one, and a lot of BBQ places use this basic rib cut. The meat was tender, but the meat didn't pull away clean from the bone. The mild sauce was very mild, but flavorful. In comparison to the Shoulder meat, they fell short of expectations. I think a better cut of Rib might help improve this part of the menu. The restaurant itself really threw me for a curve. I've been in almost every BBQ joint in Memphis, and I've never seen anything like this place. I like the color green, but I don't need three shades of green in contrasting blocks to go with the floral tablecloths covered by laminate. I felt like I was in the Pottery Barn. I kept looking over my shoulder for somebody to put out throw pillows in my booth. Then I saw the explanation on the counter---- an article from the Commercial Appeal stating that Pollards had been "decorated" by that idiot on "Restaurant Impossible". I almost laughed when the realization set in. Pollards looks like a BBQ place from the street, but the inside looks wrong for a Memphis Barbecue place. "I'd like a Feng Shui Pork with a side of Pretentiousness". The tourists from Graceland are going to love this one! The Pollards are very nice people, and their food is above-average for Memphis BBQ. That is a compliment coming from me. I will be going back soon to try their Beef BBQ, and their BBQ Spaghetti. Get the Hot BBQ sauce--- the mild stuff must be made to suit the tourists up the street.

Magnificent bbq in a very "hole in the wall" place! Stopped by for lunch because of high yelp ratings and I was thoroughly impressed. You wouldn't think much from the outside, but the food inside is amazing!!! We were kindly greeted and taken care of by Denise, who I assumed was the owner. She was beyond friendly and took care of us very well. I ordered the meat duo (pick two meats and two sides) the bbq ribs, pork, french fries, and potato salad. After a very short wait, our food came out and wowza it was tasty!!! The ribs and pork were moist, warm, and exploding with flavor. For such a nonchalant place, I wouldn't think the meats would be this good... but it's certainly one of the best ribs I've tasted. I'm glad I stopped here and would definitely come back!!!

Not going to lie, my gps didn't even take me to the right place! Yet when I got here I wasn't disappointed. A hole in the wall that packed a punch. The beef plate gave enough for two full sandwhiches and the hot sauce had some fire! I was very pleased with the food, portions and the price was less than $21 for two people. To top it off the lady at the counter was fun full of laughter and a hoot to talk with about the food. A sure place to stop and get a good meal!
