This place has one of the best ham and cheese croissants I’ve ever eaten! The turkey soup was excellent. It was like Thanksgiving soup! And our French waiter was very sweet. I loved the downtempo/trip how music they were playing on the sound system as well!

Oh my where do I begin about that amazing lunch spot :)) Such a cute place with lovely decor and a welcoming friendly atmosphere. we were greeted when we walked in the door. We sat down and immediately were ask what we would like to drink . The sweet tea here is really good and we started with a fried zucchini appetizer with a homemade buttermilk ranch:) it was absolutely delicious:) we wanted to try so many things off the menu but for our entrées went with the Asian chicken salad and the Deep Blue Sandwich which is a deep-fried cracker cod filet and with fries for the side ….. the salad was delightful from the first bite to the last and the Deep Blue will keep us coming back for more that’s for sure :) and those fries just perfect :) they sure know what they are doing at this establishment:)) This is the best of the best in Highpoint :)))

Blue Zucchini is a nice little restaurant off the highway that boasts some amazing food. I got the Club Sandwich, which was superb, just as a club sandwich should be. I also got a Chocolate Chess Pie, which was quite quality as well. The inside of the restaurant has some interesting decor. Every employee we interacted with was very pleasant to talk to and even helped me identify a song playing in the restaurant that I did not recognize. Our group of three received our takeout order in a very timely manner. The food was a bit on the expensive side, with the cost being about $16 per person, though the proportions that we received were large enough to validate the cost. Overall, this place was an incredible find, which I will hopefully return to if again in High Point. (Date of Visit: 6/28)

A good place for brunch. I had my first visit and the food was delicious. Prices were good for the amount of food served. I had great customer service and enjoyed my time here. Will definitely be back in the future.

Club sandwich, Black Bean Soup, Fried Zucchini - all excellent! Service was fast and friendly, the tables and floor are clean. Highly recommended. We'll be back to try other selections.

Generous portions, decor follows the theme, had an interesting menu. Cheap cost for add-ons, for instance we added onion and tomato to the grilled cheese they only charged $.25 each. Friend zucchini appetizer was delicious. Grilled cheese was delicious. Great fries and prices were fair! The salad dressing needed a little more flavor. Brie Sammich needed the same. Friendly staff. Overall good experience and would definitely come back.

Good people. Great food! This is a great little spot to get lunch when you're in high point. I have special dietary restrictions and it was a lot that it was there good for my diet.

I absolutely love this place! The food is amazing. I’d you’re looking for a great non-heavy lunch (you won’t leave hungry I promise!) this is the spot for you. I’ve never ordered a sandwich because I always get the brielicious for lunch because I HAVE to have the Fries! They are to die for. The staff is friendly, the decor fabulous. You should definitely check it out!!!!

Small and quaint spot perfect for a quick meal. Mostly sandwiches, salads and wraps. Our server was very attentive and kept our drinks full. Locally owned and ran and the owner checked in on us multiple times. Food hit the spot after a Saturday morning soccer game.

Awful experience today- My mom ordered the skinny burger and took two bites off the edge. When she got to the middle, the meat was completely raw. Our waitress was lovely and we simply asked her to take it away and my mom was going to finish her salad. At no point did we ask to get it for free, she simply did not want it as it turned her stomach. A few minutes later this old woman with short grey hair comes over and proceeds to tell my senior mother that she should've told her at the first bite; and that half the burger was eaten. She then said she would put the two raw bites in the middle back on the grill. First of all, two bites were taken, not half the burger. Second of all, who puts a burger back on the grill after it's been eaten- that is nasty. Then! I say something about how rude this woman was after my mother walks out while I'm paying and this woman comes BACK out into the lobby and proceeds to start screaming and cursing at me that she wasn't rude to my MOM. She absolutely was rude. She's a piece of work. I come from a long line of restaurant owners and if you're so hard up that you have to argue with customers about the quality of your food, then maybe it's time to close. The best days of the Blue Zucc are behind them.

Blue Zucchini is one of my fav lunch spots in High Point! My friends and I always make a point of stopping by when we're in town. My go-to is the confusion wrap which includes a humans spread, lettuce, feta, and tomato. It's full of veggie goodness! They have a pretty decent selection of sandwich, salad, and side options. One of the hidden gems at Blue Zu is the fries - I'm not sure what seasoning they put on these put it is delicious! Only downside of this place is the hours, they are very limited only during lunch time and not every day of the week. So be sure to double check their business hours before you stop by. Otherwise, love the cozy ambiance here and the friendly staff.

Blue Zucchini is a favorite of mine but I rarely get to go because their hours are very limited. I happened to catch them open on Saturday before they closed at 3. I got my usual La Casa salad with grilled chicken. I wasn't really impressed with the chicken this time. It was thin strips and not very flavorful. The pesto vinaigrette dressing is what makes the salad! My daughter got the Brielicious turkey sandwich which she said was delicious. The ambience is quaint and laid back.

Had a fantastic lunch at Blue Zucchini! I've been here a few times, but not in a long time. Their food is always delicious, service always friendly and happy and the atmosphere is relaxed! I met some friends for lunch, opted for the Cuban sandwich which was delicious. They didn't skimp on fillings, which really made the flavor burst. The hardest decision I had was picking my side, I settled with fries which were great, but was tempted by their pesto pasta salad, also great from what remember. If you're looking for a great place to grab a flavorful lunch, check them out. I'll be going back again soon!

Great place for lunch or breakfast if you are looking for a healthier option. It has such a cute decor with a homey charm. The service was great and the food arrived at the table quickly. The have gluten free bread so all of the sandwich options can be made gluten free if you choose. I had the Confusion which was hummus, cucumber, marinated tomato and lettuce. Super yummy and each sandwich comes with a choice of side. I also tried the chicken salad and it was decent but not the best I've had. Look forward to coming back in my next visit to Highpoint.

This is an amazing lunch spot with limited hours in High Point. Service is amazing, smaller space with no outdoor seating. Best bet for no wait is outside of lunch hours. I've been several times and will continue to return. Their menu is great with salads, apps, sandwiches and burgers. Highly recommended!

Came here with a friend for a late lunch. Luckily, we missed the rush and we're seated right away. The decor of the restaurant was cute and inviting. Our waitress was very friendly and attentive. I tried the cool burger with fries. Both were really good. The burger had a lot of barbecue sauce (it was literally dripping off the burger) but that's how I like it. The fries are the really skinny but tasted great. My friend tried the jerk chicken wraps with fries. Unfortunately, we weren't too impressed by the wrap. It had a little kick, but the seasoning was off. Overall, it was a good visit. It's definitely tailored more toward lunch at light dinner foods. I will also mention that none of the employees wore a mask while interacting the guests.

A pleasant lunch option if you are looking for a salad or sandwich. They also have soup, desserts like lemon bars and oatmeal cookies. The croissants are a bit odd compared to what I'm used to. I enjoy the breaded zucchini appetizer. A nice casual cafe/restaurant.

Well, my wife and I finally got to have a meal here as we found ourselves in the area during lunchtime, and the place was jumping! Very different scene from the dead as a doornail, one hour before closing, scene we drove up to in my last review. Despite it being busy we were able to get one of the last tables right away, and our order was promptly taken. I had their take on a roast beef sandwich melt with fries, and she had a grilled bacon and cheese sandwich with pasta salad. The bread on both sandwiches was excellent, and my beef was pretty good along with a nice thick melty cheese top. I was also really impressed by the fries. Perfectly golden, crispy, and a large amount of them. Everything was pretty efficient, as you can tell this place is primarily geared toward the lunch crowd and they are looking to shuffle people in and out. It's not a large space, and there was a line for tables as we left. This did not make us feel rushed or in any way hurried by the waitress, just took the social cue the people would like our table. Anyway, we would return if we find ourselves in the area looking for lunch again, but that is a pretty rare occurence!

This is a "laterYelp" -- was there months ago, and just realized I'd never written my review. So the fact that I remember how good it was -- for myself and for my co-workers who were there with me -- is a credit to this place! At the time I went, I was vegetarian -- and so ended up ordering the Black Bean Burger. I'm not a fan of portobello mushrooms, which was the other vegetarian option, and so I went for this. It's described on the menu as a "Vegetarian black bean patty with roasted red pepper puree, lettuce, tomato." Here's the thing -- I don't really like black (or any other) beans; don't care for red peppers -- so it was kind of dumb for me to order this. But I was hungry, so I did. It was so delicious! I couldn't believe I was eating something that was based in two foods I've never cared for. Plus, a scoop of the potato salad on the side? These kept me super quiet -- and very happy. Really fresh, good quality food. Highly recommend this place!

**The only reason I gave them two stars on the food was because my (reorder of a burger) was good and the mac and cheese was good. If you factor in the bad attitude though it would have been negative stars!! I like to pride myself in being very fare. I have written reviews for both very good and very bad experiences in establishments. Honestly this one makes me rather sad to write because I have eaten at this restaurant for over 10 years. Fun Fact: I ate lunch at Blue Zucchini the day I got married and up until the past year have sincerely enjoyed every experience I have had there. This is my second time in the last six months where the owner has been rude and defensive about an order at my table and today was the straw that broke the camels back. I ordered the Brielicious Sandwich which hands down is my all time favorite sandwich and my sister and I were sharing a mac & cheese because it is phenomenal. My sister, mom and daughter's food arrived, mine was the last to land. The croissant bun was an overheated (microwaved) croissant and not the correct bun and it only had maybe a half portion of turkey on each side, no apple, no pepper jelly and if there was cheese it was the smallest amount known to man. Ya'll this is a 13.00 sandwich! When I asked my waitress about the cheese and apple she promised me there was cheese mixed in with the meat (nope!) and she would fix the apple. I agreed and she took my plate to "fix it". While she was gone the owner came over to our table and was very defensive. I have waited tables and I am very kind about mistakes and things being fixed so her rude attitude was greatly unappreciated. She asked me what was wrong... I asked her about the croissant because it use to be on a croissant bun, she rudely explained they couldn't get them this week. okay. and then I shared it didn't have an apple, or pepper jelly and overall just wasn't right. She asked and I kindly explained. I wasn't nasty, I didn't curse or have an attitude. She was very much in her feelings that as a customer I was unhappy with the food that was delivered to me. My guess is they used the same amount of turkey on the larger croissant that they use on the smaller bun which was pathetic. When my sandwich landed again it still was the saddest thing I have ever seen with the sad addition of one thin apple slice that again seemed microwaved. The waitress agreed to take it back and just let me order something else. I had a burger the night before but at that point it seemed like the safest option. When it arrived it was delicious however it was delivered by the person I would assume was the "chef" who proceeded to toss my plate in front of me with an attitude and then re-coiled back to get his dig in that he, "doesn't use a microwave." very rudely. Wow! Just wow, I have never in my life been treated so rudely for a 13 dollar sandwich that clearly was one of the most pathetic things to ever come out of a kitchen. Do better Blue Zucchini! I have recommended you to friends and family 100's of times over the last 10-11 years and it breaks my heart to be treated so poorly and have below average food. You clearly need an attitude adjustment and not be so defensive when a customer isn't happy with their food. I will never recommend you to anyone again and will share this story with everyone I know. Clearly this business is struggling and instead of upping your customer service you get defensive when a customer isn't happy with the quality of product you serve. I wish I had taken a picture of what I was served but honestly I was in such a shock that they would even serve such a mess to a customer I didn't. I sure hope if you choose this place you are treated better than I was.

We dropped by today for a quick lunch with our two year old daughter (easier said than done most days!) The three of us had a great experience! We started with the fried zucchini appetizer--it was piping hot and so tasty. It came with some homemade ranch for dipping, which only added to how good the appetizer was! My husband got the confusion which was as served on naan. He loved it! It was full of hummus and delicious flavor. I got the Brie-licious (based on the recommendation of my husband and some yelpers). It was good but not my favorite--I'm pretty picky and it tasted too sweet for me. My daughter had the kids Mac and cheese. Being two, and a COVId baby, she was more interested in the other tables and what the waitresses were doing so she didn't eat much in the restaurant but finished it as soon as we got home the bites that my husband and I stole were quite tasty! I would definitely go back! The service was friendly and quick. I want to try the Zuch sandwich next time.

After dining at Blue Zucchini for over 4 years now, I've been so incredibly pleased with everything they have to offer. The food is consistent, the service is pleasant and the atmosphere is comfortable. Keep in mind that the restaurant is only open from 11-3 (closed on Monday's) which makes it a fabulous early or late lunch spot. You could also call ahead and order your lunch for easy pick up. Favorite menu items: the Brilicious Sandwich (turkey, apple slices, Brie cheese and pepper jelly served on a croissant bun) with a side of hot crispy fries and honey mustard as well as the Veggie Confusion Sandwich (hummus, marinated tomatoes, cucumbers, goat cheese and greens with red wine vinaigrette on naan bread) with a little salad or their Pesto Pasta Salad. Everything is light, fresh and homemade. Always impressed and I will happily continue to be a loyal customer. Thank you so much, Blue Zucchini! These 5 stars are all for you!

I LOVE this place when I'm in the mood for a fresh, delicious lunch. They have THE BEST salads, and their sandwiches are equally as delicious. They get slammed at lunch, but if you have to wait, it's worth it. The atmosphere is clean, cute, and comfortable. The only thing I could possibly complain about is that they aren't open enough!

Good lunch place! I had the Confusion sandwich and it was delicious! Great combo of hummus, goat cheese, baby greens, cukes and vinaigrette on naan bread. The pesto pasta salad was delicious too. My husband liked his LA confidential sandwich as well. Atmosphere is a bit of hippie vibe, which I like. The plastic plates and plastic flowers are not good and seem at odds with the hippie vibe - my only critique! I'm not a fan of plastic-y stuff.

New to town and yelp gave this recommendation as a random choice. It did not disappoint!

So I rarely give 5 star Yelp reviews but they earned it. The BluevZuc is a far cry from your normal southern fare where the fryolator takes center stage. On the outside it's very non descript and lacks curb appeal, but they more than make up for it with fresh healthy eating that is flavorful beyond words. I had the Asian Chicken Salad and my wife had one of the custom made bowls. The service was friendly and genuine. Pricing is good. Being honest, this place isn't for everyone. If you want chicken fingers and fries this isn't your gig. Blue Zucchini & Company, congratulations on becoming a rare breed, one of my 5 star reviews!

(3.5 stars) Though its name may call to mind artsy vegan food, Blue Zucchini's closest analogue is probably Greensboro's Iron Hen (minus its much-maligned owner) in that it supplies comforting American eats in a quaint and quirky albeit somewhat crowded space. That isn't to say that there aren't vegetarian options here - there definitely are - but rather that one should recalibrate expectations accordingly. And what should one expect? Go during lunchtime on a weekday, and expect a brief wait for a table. Expect to gawk at the desserts positioned conveniently near the register. Expect to gawk at the brightly colored interior and either nod in approval or find it a bit much. Expect to be torn between at least two different sandwiches (and, possibly, at least two different sides) when perusing the menu. These expectations dispensed with, my wife and I opted for a fried green tomato starter, a West L.A. (turkey, bacon, avocado, cheese, chipotle mayo, lettuce, and tomato on sourdough) and a Low Rider (roast beef, cherry peppers, Havarti, and horseradish mayo on a baguette), with cups of black bean soup on the side. Fried green tomatoes are one of our litmus test dishes, and Blue Zucchini's rendition (with pimento and balsamic) proved to be a mixed bag. The tomatoes were both thickly sliced and thickly battered and were nice and crisp. However, they were also quite dry. Thanks to odd plating, only the two slices in the middle had any pimento (sandwiched between them). Fortunately, the sandwiches were less confounding. Gooey melted cheese and a nice kick from the horseradish mayo made the Low Rider a winner. The black bean soup's addition of salsa and sour cream kept it from being one-note. Prompt service and reasonable pricing ($9.75 and $8.95, sides included) made for more points in Blue Zucchini's favor. It remains to be seen whether or not Blue Zucchini handles dinner entrees as well as it does sandwiches, but it has all the makings of a solid lunch spot - albeit not one worth more than a fifteen-minute wait.

Yum uum yum The cafe name caught my eye. The reviews convinced me. So again to my fellow Yelpers , I thank you for your reviews! For a place open only 11-3, it does some fantastic business. We were a bit leisurely with lunch so had an opportunity to people watch. There seem to be quite a few regulars. Every time they clear a tablenit gets re-seated. Service is on point. The kind of service you wish for but rarely get. They walk around with purpose to keep you well hydrated and refilled in drinks. EVERYONE smiles, is friendly and pitches in as a team. The food is very good. Well seasoned, adequate portions. I really didn't have room for dessert after I ate my 2 Lil Pigs Sammie and my cup of (really rich & delicious) French Onion soup. However as soon as the server rattled off Chicolate Chess Pie as a dessert choice, my stomach made room! And it was so worth the extra time I'm going to have to spend on the elliptical to work off those extra calories!

We love Blue Zucc! My husband works in High Point so we have been on the hunt for good lunch spots when we visit him during the week. He found this spot on Yelp and now it's our go to spot! The menu is great but my favorite thing to order is by far the Bri-licious sandwich. It's brie cheese, apple slices, sliced Turkey, and jelly on a croissant roll. It's even better than your imagining and now I want to swing by HP to pick one up! Yum. Their signature black bean soup is also excellent and would pair well as a side to pretty much any of their sandwiches. Our customer service experience has always been pleasant and the location is convenient. Check them out! And pick up a brilicious sandwich for me!!

First time lunch date today at the Blue Zucchini. What a nice place to have a light meal. The sandwich menu serves every palate with very nice side choices. Beer and wine choices are available. Once you finish your meal, they have wonderful treats to munch on. We did not indulge-----but they were tempting and looked very yummy. Will not be our last time here.

I've eaten here three times in the span of two days. It's a really great sandwich place in High Point. There are a number of creative sandwiches. I first ordered the turkey with apples, brie, and pepper jelly on a croissant. My second sandwich was a turkey, bacon, and cheese. Both had plentiful amounts of meat and topping. This is not a skimpy sandwich for sure! In terms of sides, I tried both the little salad and the fries. The fries were really good and came with a generous serving. The salad was typical and nothing really special. If you're dining in, the eating area is adorable and well decorated. The restaurant is right off a main road in High Point, so it's also easy to find. Lastly, the staff was nice and hospitable. The only reason I'm giving four stars is that I will say I think the dinner was a little bit over priced for the size and quality. I ordered the build your own bowl, and found that to be a tad underwhelming. I'd say come for the sandwiches and the sides. That's definitely the best part!

If you like deli foods and have a gluten allergy this is the place for you. My wife is gluten free and always finds something she likes here and the staff is as friendly as any place I've ever been. Great lunch spot with a good variety for everyone.

This is hands down my favorite place for lunch in High Point. I've never had anything here I don't like, though admittedly I'm a creature of habit and typically get the same thing (Breelicious). This time I tried the daily special, an ahi tuna wrap with an oriental sesame sauce and it was delicious! They said they're trying out different specials to get an idea of what to add to their main menu. I really hope they add this wrap because it was so good, I cleaned my plate. As usual, I got the French fries as my side. Hands down these are some of the best dang fries around, especially for people like me who like them crispy. Dip them in the honey mustard; it's the best!

Okay. I met a friend for dinner last night I didn't order the tuna Niçoise salad. My friend didn't order it either. He had the catfish-said it was delicious. I had the black bean cakes with sauce on the side. Speaking of sides, I had the green beans-yum! And collard greens. I didn't realize the collards had bacon bits but was not unhappy and shouldn't have been surprised. Just note this if you are vegetarian. I'm not sure if they can make it without-but it is used very sparingly. Some of the best collard greens I've ever had. Super fresh and cooked tender. The black bean cakes cooked hot and made with fresh ingredients. So full of flavor. Another great meal!

My wife and I were able to get back here in June 2022 after Covid shut down. We really enjoy the food and service here, recommend it highly.

I'd say the atmosphere is more to my likings than the food, but I ain't hating. Lol We tried the artichoke dip, and it was not horrible - but I would not order it again. There is a descent wine selection for brunch,etc. the waitstaff was attentive and personable. Hubby got the Cobb salad, and it was fresh and delicious. I had the club sandwich, and it was very good also. The prices seen a bit steep for a small place on Main Street in High Point, but I'm always glad to patronize the local businesses! Not bad at all!

Great place to get a good lunch. Service is always good. The location is good. It is close to downtown for Market people.

I have had lunch at Blue Zucchini 3-4 times now and each experience has been very good. Note that BZ is not very big and it can quickly get very busy around lunch time. If you don't make the first seating, you may want to consider other options if time is an issue. Also, do not be deterred by the small parking lot - there is another lot just next door and there may very well be seating inside even if BZ's lot is full. My go-to is the Skinny Dip - the bunless burger with avocado and marinated tomatoes. It's reasonably healthy and won't leave you feeling miserable and in need of a nap. My buddy's go-to is the Southern Pride - the sammich with fried green tomatoes and pimento cheese. We pretty much get the same selections every time we go because they're so good. Consider adding Blue Zucchini to your High Point lunch rotation, and try to go early!

Wife and I stopped here on 4-27-2022. I had the club sandwich with crispy fries no salt. Wife and I have been passing this place for years. We finally decided to stop in. We are glad we did so it's so good. Abs did babe it in a decent every time too.

Mmmmm, the Zury sandwich that I got here this afternoon was absolutely delicious. As my side I got the black bean soup with sour cream, salsa, and chives on top, it was also really good! My friends each got the low rider and they both loved it! The fries were shoestring (which typically aren't my favorite), but they had rosemary on them which made them awesome. I have eaten here twice before for dinner and both times were really good! I can't recommend this restaurant enough!

Don't know how the food was..... they closed 35 minutes early. Was really looking forward to it. Oh well..... the Turkish place down the street was amazing and they were very accommodating. They were closing in 25 mins but welcomed us in.

Blue Zucchini is one of the few resturaunts that offer both classic southern service and a different interesting menu. I got the Baja Burger that included a side of their pasta salad. Our service was fast and incredibly helpful. Our order was taken right away and we got our food in less than 10 minutes. The burger itself was full of flavor and cooked very well. We all enjoyed the pasta salad which was a pesto style sauce, it is a definite must have. If pesto isn't much your speed, their fries were some of the best I've ever had, being in the best way possible, like more impressive McDonalds fries. Overall, Blue Zucchini is a must try near High Point, it was impossible to find a place to take a star off.

There's an obvious lack of effort in the back of the house here. Food is consistently under-seasoned, and some of the things that hit the plate are a bit head-scratching. Chicken Salad has texture issues. It's very finely chopped, served by itself on a roll, and is just bland, and boring. The Cubano was mushy, but not too bad. The potato soup was terribly out of balance and had a weird aftertaste. The lemon bar was buried under powdered sugar. Not ready to give up on this place, but the first impression was underwhelming.

This was my first visit to Blue Zucchini and its definitely my last. Food quality was "okay" I've had my better share of food from quality restaurants in the area. The prices are high for the quality of restaurant and its ambiance. What really tripped me out was the ridiculously small portion of food that is served. Portion control is a big statement maker. $11 for a small sandwich and a spoonful of pasta as a side is not worth $11 to me. Is it magic food? Either a massive ego or poor restaurant management is to blame here. That is all. I also learned that this place charges you extra for takeout... WTF?!

Wonderful lunch experience with my daughter. We shared a sandwich and each had a side of soup. There is a share fee which includes the extra side item. Delicious meal, friendly server. The seating is limited so there was a slight wait as we were there during peak lunch service on a weekday.

I tried this place for the first time with my husband a few days ago and was pleasantly surprised! I have past by here so many times and said I would try it and finally gave it to give it a shot . I wish I would have a long time ago ! If you look up the top ten restaurants in high point , nc the blue zucchini is on that list and for good reason ! They have fantastic food and I definitely enjoyed my visit ! My husband has the cub sandwich and I had the west LA . Both are delicious sandwiches stacked with quality ingredients. My husband got the fries which where hot and crispy . Then I got the pasta salad. I've never had pasta salad like they make but it was very good. The only complaint I have is it's hard to get a parking spot . If he lot is full you can't circle around . You have to drive back out on the road and turn back into the parking lot. Which is a not easy with how traffic in high point is lately. Other than that if you want a fantastic restaurant for lunch give them a try ! They are open 11am- 3pm .

Came for lunch with my boss . Food was alright - had the BBQ chicken. I guess I should've asked for a different kind of bread Macadamia nut cookie was definitely delicious

Being from the North, I was a little weary about this little blue place. It's honestly bigger than it seems once you walk in. The food here is top notch! The quality is delicious. The skinny fries (my first ever experience with these succulent fried potatoes) was awesome. They are even great with modifying your orders (I like to substitute the ciabatta bread for sandwiches). Hello confusion sandwich ! I'm so glad I took my lunch here one day. And since brought my husband back and he loves the burgers. (I don't eat red meat so I'll take his word for it) We will continue to visit! Hopefully they look into a larger building so they can offer more drink options for dinner dining! Hello bartender!?

I came here on a Saturday afternoon around 3pm for a late lunch and was seated immediately. While the restaurant wasn't busy per se, it did have a steady stream of people coming and going. The dining area, while charming and inviting, was rather small with around 10-12 tables/booths. The decor was adorable with a cottage and beachy feel. Serene pastel green and blue paint coated the walls, with one wall covered with an assortment of mirrors of various shapes and sizes. The geometric artworks, funky fabrics, and mismatched chairs all added charm to this small establishment. The interior was a sharp contrast to the nondescript exterior which sits on a lot that looks a bit rundown. Don't let that scare you from coming in though because the food that awaits you inside is delightful, comforting, with a unique spin on southern flavors. Now onto the food. We ordered the fried zucchini as our appetizer, shoestring fries, Two Lil' Pigs sandwich, Carolina sandwich, and the Brielicious sandwich with the soup of the day which was a chicken and rice chowder. Being the glutton that I am, I had to try everyone's food as well and each item was delicious! If I had to choose just one out of the three sandwiches for my next visit, it would be the Brielicious. The sandwich consisted of turkey, apple slices, brie cheese, pepper jelly, on a croissant roll. The components married well together and the pepper jelly added a nice sweetness and kick to the sandwich. All burgers and sandwiches are under $10 and comes with a side item with your choice of pasta salad, green salad, potato salad, french fries, potato chips or a cup of soup. The appetizer and side items were my favorite part of the meal. The fried zucchini was very good. Though we did have a difficult time picking up each piece without the yummy panko crust falling off. I LOVE SHOESTRING FRIES! They were perfectly crispy and soft at the same time. I should have gotten two baskets to go. Get the fries! The soup, oh that soup. I woke up Sunday morning craving that soup. I wanted to call in an order only to find out they are closed on Sundays! Grrrrrrrr! The soup was so rich and creamy with nice size pieces of chicken and plenty of vegetables and rice. I imagine if I were deathly sick with the flu, this soup would have healing properties that can cure my ailment. Please, put this soup on your permanent menu. When you've completed your meal and receive your check, you'll head back to the lobby area and pay at the register. There, a display of decadent baked good awaits you. Staring at you. Testing your will power to commit to your new year's resolution of losing those last five stubborn pounds that makes skinny jeans your worst enemy. If you're steadfast, you'll just pay the check and leave. I'm happy to say that I lack any and all will power when it comes to desserts and grabbed a cookie (or two, maybe three) before heading out the door. It was damn good, too. Shut up. P.S. I realize that I've just written a novella of a review. Oh well.

Went back for lunch again! They gladly altered my salad to my dietary needs. Again, had the pesto vinaigrette. I LOVE that stuff! It may be my favorite ever! My boyfriend was NOT impressed with his sandwich this visit. He ordered the Southern Pride, and he said it lacked flavor, so he ended up dunking it into his soup. Another downside to this visit was that we were one of two tables in the restaurant. The two girls already there were talking, LOUD. We were sat back-to-back with their booth. They were so loud that I could not hear my boyfriend speaking. We ended up taking it upon ourselves to move a few booths down so we could carry on a conversation without yelling at each other.

This place was a breath of fresh air on my work trip. While I love me some good BBQ with enough food on a plate to fill 3 people, I need a break! First of the portions are not small, they're just normal. Like normal normal, not Carolina normal! I went with the cubano and black bean soup. The cubano has pulled pork on it which was an interesting play. The mustard is like a Dijon and complimented the meats very well. Probably the most important thing was the bread. So often it is too hard and makes it less enjoyable to eat. The baguette was a nice soft touch to the Sammy. High Point, this is a gem! I'm giving it two thumbs way up!

One of my new favorites in High Point, the Blue Zucchini is an affordable option for some really good local cuisine. The menu is made up of classics with a twist. I had the Cobb Salad. I am having a thing with Cobb salads lately and couldn't resist trying this one. For $10.50 The Cobb comes with turkey, bacon, avocado, egg, tomatoes, blue cheese crumbles, mixed greens. The recommended dressing is the honey dijon dill. Next time I might try it with the ranch. The salad was very good. The greens were fresh and it had a nice big serving of avocado. The only two things were that I prefer chicken on a Cobb salad and the blue cheese crumbles were a bit strong at the end of the salad. Mixed together the flavors worked very well. My husband ordered the Chicken Pot Pie for $13.95. The "crust" is a croissant covering a bowl of pulled chicken, carrots, corn, peas, celery, onions, rosemary and served with a side salad. It is just the right amount of food for a late Sunday dinner. As a matter of fact, I think the portions here are just right. I observed other diners food and there were no oversized bowls or plates, ladened with food and calories. The pot pie is DELICIOUS. The sauce is creamy and the chicken is tender. I also tried the lemon bar and it was very good. Not very tart and actually on the sweet side, but judging by the way we cleaned the plate, this is worth having again. You can buy their desserts and pick up take out at the front of the restaurant. This is a "cute" little restaurant on Main St. There is only one dining area with 8 booths and about as many tables. Your very large group would have a hard time getting seated together here. The dining room is tastefully decorated and features several local artists.

Great lunch!!!! Free bird sandwich was delicious and best blue cheese salad dressing!
