OK is truly a gem and quite literally my favorite store in all of Los Angeles -- actually, in all of the world. Everyone at the shop is super kind, knowledgable, and patient, and the selection of items is so thoughtfully and wisely curated by the intrepid Larry and team!!! I love this store so much -- the atmosphere is so chic and cool, and the best part is that every time I come by I feel like I am visiting family. This beautiful store is a genuine godsend!

Love this place!! I was on a time crunch to buy gifts for people and managed to get it all done (with complementary gift wrapping and everything) in one trip at this store. Considering the general quality of items at the store, I think the prices are super reasonable. Hits the sweet spot between higher end and tasteful without breaking the bank. Also shoutout to the two people who were working at the store - you were lovely and helpful! Will be coming back to get future gifts.

This shop is one of the best in LA for curated, artisanal home and personal goods. It's pretty small, but everything inside feels hand selected by the owner. Staff is helpful and friendly, and you're bound to find something you like. We got out wedding rings here, but just went today for some Japanese incense. If you're looking for jewelry definitely go here first. They carry a hip, classy collection of locally crafted and signature pieces. And again, so much variety there's bound to be something for most budgets. Love it, take a look and see what's good!

Great place for shopping high end jewelry by local designers. Non jewelry items feature gift books, Japanese ceramic makers and small stationery selection (Kaweco, etc) and one brass masking tape dispenser for $250. There seems to be a slight markup on items you can find in other LA stores (onsen salts, Kaweco fountain pens).

OK in Los Angeles is a great location for hip housewares and jewelry. It is a great place gifts and unique selections and is located not far from the Beverly Center. In the past few years it has established itself as a go-to destination for modernism in many category from books and jewelry to home furnishings. The space is filled with “things that are modern, understated, well made and very functional.”

Rare hard to find the pieces of wood and they are able to cut pieces and customize your needs.

Pauline is simply the loveliest! So much passion behind the store and I love being shown new products when they come in! A beautiful selection of staple pieces to the completely unexpected! Love this store with all my heart.

This is the best gift shop I've ever been in. They have beautiful, unique gifts, a perfectly curated selection of cookbooks and art books and architecture books and more, gorgeous pottery, exquisite coffee and bar accessories, jewelry, ornaments, glasses. If you're nearby this shop is a must visit.

I was just browsing for a few minutes the store. I had work in an hour so I figured I could just find some decor for my new home. Everything in the bathroom is all set, just wanted to find some Knick-knack-like things to decorate the bathroom bit. Nothing crazy or big, wanted something simple and small. The employees all were very helpful and friendly! I got a few cute things that were perfect for the bathroom! They also have another location in Silverlake! Check them out! Lotsa of cute little things. I got 4 mini vases, a very neat thing called a Rainbow Stick and a little glass globe.

There are plenty of other cool things including art books, pens, and high end kids toys. The store reminds me of the old Del Mano Gallery that used to be in Brentwood and Pasadena. Staff was warm and friendly--they offered help, but stayed back enough to let me experience the store on my own. I found easy street parking.

Great little store with an equally great selection of home goods, gifts, and other assorted treasures. The store owner is also very friendly and helpful. Stopping here is always a delight. Will be back again soon! :)

Be prepared to be in this store for over an hour, because there are so many unique things to look at. I had to run back to my meter and put more money in. This is a great place for gifts that you won't find anywhere else. They have a lot of things that are made in other countries, (In the good way, not the made in China way). There was lots of sales staff there to answer any questions you may have. The variety of items they have are incredible and at all different price points.

This place has a great selection of beautifully created art as well as gifts, many of natural materials. You can tell the stock is selected with care and a great eye for quality design and workmanship. I love this store, it has become my go to for special gifts and wishful wantings for myself as well.

Ok, pronounced "okay" (I thought it was pronounced "ok" which means jade in Korean), is a wonderful little shop carrying culinary and design paraphernalia that would make fabulous gifts for those people you know who have everything. I have those impossible-to-shop-for friends and when occasions come around, I can count on Ok for some interesting wine items, stemware, Venetian glass vases, and there is always something sneaking in the corners that I discover with each visit. I now know the owner and he is an interesting chap. He personally buys everything and, is there any tying motif, you ask? Nope, just whatever strikes his fancy. He obviously has an affinity with Asia (which is why I thought Ok was pronounced "ok") and appreciates the Japanese aesthetic (welcome to my--scratch that--everyone's world) in particular, thus there are a lot of fascinating books about Japan. I purchased a beautiful Japanese tea ceremony book (different from the ones I've spied here and there), so that I can learn it and impress my grandfather who lives in Kyoto. There are also fantastic coffee table reads. Great books on photography, art, food and wine, cooking, James Dean and Steve McQueen, and the French New Wave. Pretty cool as school selection. There is also this unique collaboration of art/design pieces that he showed me that reminds me of those pop-up books I used to flip through as a kid (I remember making a few, too). Visionaire is the company that releases them three times a year. They work with artists, designers, and image-makers to create an eye-catching, playful collection built around a theme in varying formats. This is not highbrow or what I would call serious/fine art, but just something fun yet creative, though I will be the first to concede it is more about image than art. This all said, color me happy, I am not much of a collector, but I want some of these! I'll start with Dreams, Magic, Woman, Chic, Paris, and true to my MO, Scent. Great store for middle-aged yuppies that think they are hipsters. Buy your photography book at a premium price, adjust your Barry Goldwater specs and say things like, "yeah yeah yeah" a lot- then drive your Prius or Vintage piece of shit you call cool, home to your rad gentrified pad in Echo Park or Silverlake. You will never be acknowledged at this store by the unimpressive staff with inflated esteem unless you a) are famous b) look like you're loaded c) are a yipster (that's a word I created for yuppies that think they are hipsters) They get 2 stars, because you really can find cool gifts, but why would I want to pay top dollar to receive bad service?

I've been to this store two times. Both times, I came out of the store with their merchandise in hand. So what's the problem, right? I must've liked the items at this store to buy something on two separate occasions. My problem with this place isn't so much what they sell. Although a lot of their items are really, really overpriced, they have interesting gifts for those people in your life who seem to have everything. For those who have money to burn, this place is a nice alternative to the other stores you'll see around L.A. Even their gift wrapping is neat and cute. With that said, I'd like to make mention of their customer service. This is the part I have a problem with because basically, unless you look like you have some money, you're not even looked at. The first time I was there, I didn't take long to find what I needed so I didn't pay any mind to their service. Although there weren't too many customers in the store at the time, I wasn't talked to until I went up to the register. The second time I was there, there were quite a few customers there considering Christmas Day was nearing. I shopped for about an hour, and other than the time I asked one of the employees about a product, no one bothered to ask me if I needed any help. There was a younger guy with brown hair and torn sweater who was lounging around the store, and although he asked others if they were finding everything okay, he didn't even bother looking in my direction. I must have passed him a few times -- not a word. I even called on Christmas Eve to find out what time they closed that day. I don't know if it was the same guy who answered the phone, but thanks for the curt, rude response to my simple question. Although what they sell may be cute, I cannot look past rude or nonexistent customer service to buy overly expensive items. I've found a few more stores around L.A. that sell unique items so I'll be going there from now on. It's quite a shame, really, as I would've given them more sales than their customer service is worth.

A great place for gifts and furnishings. Great Japanese ceramics, potteries, lamps, vases and other things you don't actually need but will want to own. Absolutely love their coffeetable book selection and one item I adore, that particular vanity mirror etched with "You are beautiful, your eyes are fabulous, you have full kissable lips...blah...blah...blah."

Speaking as a professional who travels the world in search of gifts for my retail clientele, OK is as fine an eclectic mix of products as you'll find in any one store. I happened upon the store yesterday while scoping out LA. Be sure to introduce yourself to the owner, Larry. His knowledge of the gift trade spans Europe and Asia. He certainly knows the market and he knows his customers. Not only that, he generously directed me to competing stores whose assortments he admires. I cannot recall ever meeting a small gift store owner with that much (deserved) confidence. LA is a better place with OK around to elevate its gift giving.

A modernist dream... Beautiful hand picked pieces. An array of finely crafted jewelry, ceramics, books and journals. I've bought exquisite gifts to, just plain necessities. A stainless steel pressurized diamond ring to mighty magnets, Comme De Garcon passport wallet to stationary. I spend no less than 2 hours here, going through all the books like a kid in a candy store. An intelligent, playful store for the picky one. After all these years.... You still excite me. Came here yesterday (Christmas Eve) and it was filled with people looking for last minute Christmas gifts no doubt. It has a good selection of unique items including housewares, home decor, jewelry, books (especially cookbooks and coffee table books), and kids toys. It's not necessarily cheap but is high-quality.

I always end up shopping here for last minute holiday gift finding the most unique books, toys and jewelry. Sure, it's a little on the pricier side, but every now and again, I'll find some great steals and hard to find specialty knick knacks. Plus, it's not as expensive as A + R, which has some similar items. In the past, I've bought, musical instruments, books, bottle openers, lotions and cutesy cookware. A great small business to support!

This is my favorite store in LA! It's a small, cute place that has tons of awesome things. Cool things: Art books (there is a really cool one by this guy who makes art from nature, like a huge square of yellow oak leaves that he hung from a tree branch and then the sun light sparkled through) Jewelry- unique pieces you won't see anywhere else- very simple and modern. I got one of my favorite bracelets here that looks like a silver ID bracelet but is engraved with poetry. Dishes- a few mod pieces, very cool Random stuff- boxes, stuffed animals, wallets, chopsticks, etc etc. Fun to look around if nothing else! The store is a bit pricey but it is LA and the items are well-made and awesome.

One of the best gift shops in Los Angeles. They use the curated approach. Ok don't stock every book or every object you might want but what they do stock is the best or most interesting of its kind. A very nice selection of handmade jewelry that has made my go-to-store when I need to buy a gift for a birthday or Valentine's Day. Very cool selection of Noguchi and other designer lamps, interesting items for the kitchen, a few very cool watches, and beautiful pottery and sculpture. The books are alway interesting if you like art or music or food or a different take on the world. Service is excellent. Larry is always there to let you know the story behind the items or the creators of what you are buying. And, Jana, how can you not fall in love with her? OK is where I go first when I have to buy a gift and I rarely have to go anywhere else.

I adore OK. It's a bit like the MOMA store in NYC, but smaller and cozier and more personal. Perfect for finding a gift for your design-obsessed friend. They carry the most lovely jewelry (the poetry-engraved bracelets, rings and necklaces by Jeanine Payer are my favorite), quirky and beautiful coffee table books (many on art and photography and fashion), elegant and interesting housewares (like wooden digital clocks or a bamboo wine bottle holder), and cute accessories (bright, colorful Comme des Garcons wallets). I dunno why it's named OK cuz it's more like AWESOME. yeah.

I have gotten so much great jewelry from this store. I had to make an exchange once and they were great. I wound up buying more things-of course once I went back.

I ADORE this shop!! The owner has impeccable taste, choosing some of the best books, spanning from fashion to underground Japanese subcultures, each hand picked with care. This shop reminds me very much of the zakka shops in Tokyo, with design and modern functionality in mind. Finds range from novelty items to cookware, Japanese sculpture and children's books. It's a bit pricey, but oh so worth it. I love their brown paper wrapping! Thank you, OK, for taking me back to harajuku's design shops without having to drive more than a mile or two from my house!

my fiance got the hint and bought me my engagement ring from here. so beautiful and so unique. very happy with the ring and he's very happy that he found something that both he and i like. it's unique, modern, and irregular - perfect! needed to get the ring resized and they were very gracious in sizing me and figuring out a way to get it expedited. they followed up with a nice call making sure everything was not just ok, but good. larry the owner told me a bit about my ring - telling me that it's one of a kind - just like most of the fancier jewelry in the store. if you are looking for a unique modern non standard engagement ring or an awesome gift - you have found your store.

Glad I found OK. This place has been smartly curated by the owner, who is clearly a connoisseur of the timeless, ageless, practical, and curious. I got to see/touch my first live piece of Polly Wales in this store after web-stalking her work for years, and just bought my teenager's bday presents here. It's truly a one-stop shop for spoiling your elite, brainy friends and family rotten.

"Woohoo! As good as it gets!" and its right. They carry various types of items from books and wallets to some other gifts. If you like to shop, this store cannot be missed.

Beautiful items, but at the end of the day, the store just feels a little flat. The interior isn't exceedingly welcoming, and nothing about it pulls you in or makes you want to stay. The sales people are friendly enough, though the three of them sat behind the desk the entire time without getting up to engage me at all. Isn't that what good design is supposed to inspire? Conversation? This being said, though, I would definitely go back to peruse the interesting objects.

This is a great shop. I bought my girlfriend a ring here, beautiful drinking glasses, some art books. I will be going back for a clock soon. The sales staff are helpful and let you browse without breathing all over you; once you have a question, they come and assist. They are not desperate like some salespeople. Stop in and see what they have.

By far the coolest store in Los Angeles. You will find unique, reasonably-priced gifts for anybody here. It is my "go-to place" for Xmas and birthday gifts. Much of what you will find here is made by local artists. There is a huge selection of children's gifts for every age. Lots of amazing jewelry and wallets. There are gifts for the most distinguished and hard-to-shop-for people. Classy wooden and brass bookends, great coffee table books, incense holders, gag gifts! This place has it all. Oh, and don't forget to check out the homemade birthday and holiday cards - they are hilarious and woodblock printed.

I love Japanese stuff and good thing I bumped to this store. They sell books, ceramics, jewelry and a lot more. Cool stuff! I can't wait to go back and buy cute decors for my house.

this is the place to go if you're looking for a special gift but don't want to visit several places or (worse yet) get lost in the commercial hell of the mall. street parking can be hit or miss on this busy stretch of third street, but ok is worth the effort. spacious and deep, it's an airy and elegant space full of a drool-worthy eclectic mix of giftables: jewelry, art books, handcrafted housewares, etc. with an aesthetic that is modern (not to mention timeless) and a philosophy that focuses on quality, everything stocked here is sure to delight. local designers are showcased alongside other artists and designers. every item has a story and if you have the time, they can tell you about the artist that made that particular piece you are looking at. i often stop by just to wander around and be inspired. if you are a design whore (like me) you'll fall in and out of love as you walk down the aisles here: each piece is better than the last! choosing can be difficult as everything is great. service here is very friendly, knowledgable, and personal as only a small business can be. the worst thing about this place is sticking to your plan or budget. you'll be tempted to keep for yourself that beautiful wood chopping block or delicate gemstone earrings that you bought as a gift for someone else. or, if you're like me, you'll go in with the plan to buy one thing and walk out with a few. everything is just too tempting. but, hey, it's better than a drug habit right? and if you see something that you like but it's a little more than you can afford, nicely ask for a discount. 9 times out of 10 they are happy to help you.

A very curious store. I mean, it engages your curiosity. Great design books on art, architecture, photography and prison tattoos. The selection feels curated, like your smarter older brother is introducing you to things you should learn to be into. The staff is very friendly and will gladly help you with shipping and special orders.

This is my favorite home furnishing store in LA. Very well curated and the staff are awesome! Honestly, I sort of want to work here -- that's how much I like it.

I love browsing this store. They have a good selection of books, things I haven't seen in every other design or book store, and interesting jewelry, along with sometimes difficult to find Comme des Garcons wallets/personal accessories. Last time I was in they had a set of beautifully fragile shot glasses that made me want to cry and little string dolls that I think about fondly to this day.

If OK ever has a wedding registry, I might just have to get married. I'm in love with a set of exquisite Japanese glassware. And their art books. And the jewelry. And the ceramics.

Another (check out New Stone Age) great place to buy yourself or a friend a gift. Fun to walk around and check everything out. I think there's more home ware type of stuff here. Service was friendly.

curio for the cool, curated to be coveted, it's all ok--and then some. ok peddles beautiful things. the prices are fair given that they are selling works of art: hand crafted wood bowls, japanese lamps, blown glass vAses (with a soft "a"). they have an impressive jewelry collection too. and wonderful books like julian shnabel (did i get that right?) photog books to "awkward family photos". service--better than ok. i have a friend who works down the street, and he tells me that the third street crowd is tough to please. yes, a lot of celebs and westside "in the biz" people shop on third. they either want to be left alone or drowned in attention. i've always had great service at ok, and i'm the type of shopper who wants to be left alone until i have a question. if i have a q, i'll ask for help. i think sometimes people go into 3rd st shops and think they are being ignored bc they aren't a celeb. i don't think it's that. parking ... it's metered. i usually find a spot without a problem. go check it out. it's definitely worth a looksie.
