Terrazza delle Quadrighe is one of the most spectacular viewpoints in Rome and a highlight of the Monument to Victor Emmanuel II. An absolutely stunning view of Rome as far away as the Vatican and overlooking the Roman Forums and the Colosseum and with a clear view of via del Corso. A must do while in Rome. Try to time it so that you can spend some time there to catch the sunset. And be aware that the toilet is one elevator ride away

It's a great place to see the views of Rome. There is an outdoor restaurant with good food.

Terrazza delle Quadrighe sits atop the Vittoriano (Altare della Patria) at around 80 m elevation. It’s named after two imposing bronze quadrigae—one symbolizing “Unity of the Fatherland,” the other “Freedom of the Citizens”—crafted between 1924–27 and crowning the monument's twin propylea . You can reach it quickly via a panoramic glass elevator installed in 2007 . From here, Rome unfolds in every direction: Piazza Venezia, the Forum, the Colosseum, the Tiber, Jewish Ghetto, Quirinale, EUR—even the Castelli Romani in the distance.

Wonderful viewpoint on top of the Monumento a Vittorio Emanuele II. The lower entrance to the elevator can be reached by walking through the Monument and exiting towards the right hand sight of the upper terrace. The price of 10 € is not the cheapest but there is a huge discount for EU residents until the age of (incl.) 25 which only have to pay 2€. The line for the elevator may take some time since the capacity of the elevator only allowed 6 people at a time but the view is totally worth the waiting. A wonderful thing at the top is that there are two awesome Nikon binocular telescopes that nearly can be used to look into the popes private apartments since their quality and magnification is extreme. It is nearly every POI in the whole city that can be seen from this viewpoint. Especially the Forum Romanum can be overlooked in way that I personally prefer over actually visiting the forum.

Astounding view with free admission the the public. We particularly loved the Café on the intermediary floor, it was perfect for a snack and drink.
