Since Mercado closed, this may be the only Mexican restaurant in the city if I'm not mistaken. Located on the roof of Sarit Mall along with a number of other restaurants, the location is pretty nice when the sun is shining. Plenty of craft breweries to have a drink at afterwards if you so desire it.
I went for the lamb taco and the chorizo and potato enchilada. Both pretty good. If I had known it was "buy 2 tacos, get one free" Monday I would have done that, but I didn't see the special in time. The food came out fairly fast considering I arrived at opening time. It came with four different sauces and I also ordered some refried beans to go with it.
I was hoping to get a stout craft beer I had seen people posting about here in the past but they no longer serve craft beers. I then tried to get a horchata but it wasn't ready yet as they had just opened. Instead I got a passion-orange drink which was perfectly fine. For dessert I ordered a choco flan (the only dessert available at the time) which was very nice and fortunately for me was sweet but definitely not overly sweet.
Overall, it's pretty good. I recommend coming here later in the afternoon or early evening when everything is prepared and there is probably more of an atmosphere. The restaurant itself is nicely decorated and they play appropriate music to make you feel like you're in Mexico.
I'll definitely come back some time to try more of their dishes. Well worth a try if you're here in Nairobi and either want to try something new or just get your Mexican food fix. Recommended.
