Sa Calobra

The water here has more shades of blue and turquoise than any other place I have visited. Sa Calobra also serves as the beginning (or end) of Torrent de Pareis, with the area around Sa Calobra being the most accessible to walking and casual hiking.

This is the road to Sa Calobra, one of the most legendary and beautiful roads not only in Mallorca, but in all of Spain. This is the MA-2141 mountain serpentine road, leading to Torrent de Pareis and Cala Sa Calobra bay. It runs through the Serra de Tramuntana mountain range, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. hairpin turns • 🌀 the famous Nus de Sa Corbata loop – the road makes almost a complete circle under itself • ⛰️ carved directly into the cliffs • 📏 length ~12 km • 📆 built in 1932 without tunnels (!) This is an engineering masterpiece: the road gradually loses altitude without destroying the mountain.

One of the most beautiful and usual beach I visited! The address to the beach is via 2 tunnels that is exceptional. Be careful not to slip, as the floor is always wet from dropping water from the mountains above! As you exit the last tunnel, you come to an opening with a small steam flowing into the sea through a small secluded pebbled beach. Just marvelous❤️❤️ There's a car park 150m up for euro 2/ day

If you get parking it is a great place! Nice beach, some fun deep water solo climbing, cliff diving and a canyon you can hike in. The entrance to the beach is quiet unique as you have to walk through two tunnels which end in a great view! For the hiking part you can get pretty far into the canyon, but there is a point where you need to either climb or turn around. Many of the people we met had to turn around, but still enjoyed the hike! The canyon does require some climbing if you enter from the beach area if you want to go to the end. It is recommended to start from the top and hike down to end up at the beach. It is possible to do without rope if you are experienced, if not bring a rope to make it easier and safer! Also there are some sport climbing routes here, but you need to apply for permission to climb here.

The views are unique. We recommend that you stock up on fuel before you arrive, as you will be driving through the mountains for about ~1 hour. Keep in mind that you won't be able to swim peacefully due to the big waves. The mountains are big, so just driving to the place will take your breath away.

Pros: Sa Calobra is truly one of the most beautiful spots I’ve visited. The drive there is an adventure in itself — a winding mountain road with endless breathtaking views of cliffs, peaks, the sea, and lush greenery. Renting a car is highly recommended, as it gives you the flexibility to stop for photos at countless scenic viewpoints along the way. The drive takes about 1.5 hours with breaks, and in a comfortable car it’s a pleasure rather than a chore. When you arrive, you’ll find a picturesque bay with crystal-clear turquoise water, framed by dramatic cliffs and dotted with yachts. The small stone beach is stunning, and the water is incredibly clean and calm — perfect for swimming and floating effortlessly thanks to the ideal salinity. Swimming here was one of the most enjoyable experiences I’ve had anywhere in the world. The walk to the beach itself is also memorable — you pass through a tunnel carved into the rock, with “windows” looking out onto the bay. There’s decent infrastructure nearby: a large parking area, some small cafés and ice cream stands, changing rooms, and paid showers. Cons & Tips: It can get very crowded, especially on weekends in high season. If possible, visit on a weekday or in the shoulder season to enjoy it with fewer people. The beach is rocky (pebble/stone), so water shoes are a must for comfort — the stones can be slippery and uneven. Bring sunscreen, plenty of drinking water, something to lie on, and a light snack. The local food options are basic and overpriced, so I’d avoid planning a full meal there. If you enjoy snorkeling, definitely bring a mask — the visibility is fantastic. You can also jump from smaller rocks into the water if you’re comfortable with that. Overall: Sa Calobra is a must-visit if you’re in Mallorca. The journey is as stunning as the destination, and the swimming experience is exceptional. With the right preparation, you’ll have an unforgettable day in one of the island’s most unique and beautiful spots.

Great boat ride - buying your tickets online is easy. Super scenery and the fabulous swimming spot. Go early or else the boat and beach will be rammed. Take snacks and plenty of water to avoid over priced food. 2 hours is long enough for a couple of swims but if you want to explore the gorge too then you need more time.

Amazing spot! It's a stone/pebble beach which takes a bit of patience to get to. But once you do it's so worth it. The drive is amazing, but for the insecure driver it could be scary. Once you arrive there it's a paid parking with a lot of spaces, and to get to the biggest beach, torrent service Paris is a shorter walk through another beach, restaurants and through some cliffs (so cool!). The view is amazing, great snorkeling. You can cliff jump up to 9m if you can climb a bit. It's adventurous, beautiful and a picture perfect place for the adventurous. Not great if you just want to lay down tanning for a day. You need to swim here. The beach is very small and crowded, but there is a lot of space in the area close to the water.
