Inside the hotels of the Balearic Islands

"Though crafted from a historical structure, Sa Creu Nova Petit Palais Art & Spa is an entirely modern boutique-hotel experience—rustic on the outside, plush within. Occasional rough-hewn stone walls add atmosphere to the clean-lined bedrooms, and the simplicity of the spaces draws the eye to an impressive contemporary art collection distributed throughout rooms and common spaces." - Guide MICHELIN

Sa Creu Nova Petit Palais Art & Spa (Mallorca, Balearic Islands) 6 Verified Reviews | Tablet Hotels

"When it comes to Mediterranean escapes the Balearic island of Mallorca isn’t exactly obscure. But there are places on this island where you can still get away from it all. The town of Campos, in the island’s southeast, is one of these places. It’s less than a half-hour’s drive from the spectacular Es Trenc beach; and, more to the point, it’s the home of Sa Creu Nova Art Hotel & Spa." - Tablet Hotels

UPDATE 21.10.2025 (after reply from the Hotel Manager): - The manager claims, they don't advertise themselves as 5-star hotel, however their website as well as Google Maps says different (see screenshot) - The info, that SPA as well as Fitness has to be pre-booked, is nowhere visible on the website, nor the booking platforms (see screenshot). Even if it is mentioned, it should be flagged during the check-in (or even better to send out an email before check-in asking if a slot wanted to be booked beforehand - Also, it says there are 2 restaurants. During our stay we were only able to see one (where is the 2nd one)? ____ ORIGINAL REVIEW We stayed here as a couple for 5 nights. Rooms are great — big, comfy bed and a nice charm overall. Staff were super friendly and breakfast was tasty (even if a bit small with limited choices). Free public parking right in front of the hotel was also a big plus. On the downside: the SPA & gym can only be used if you reserve in advance, and only for 1h per day (not mentioned on the website). Check-in felt a bit unorganized, no clear info about the facilities. Room temperature couldn’t be adjusted, free water bottles weren’t refilled, and the bathrobes were way too small for men (I usually wear XL). Overall, it’s a nice place to stay if you want to explore Campos and the South/East of Mallorca. But if you’re looking to relax and enjoy hotel facilities, it’s not really 5-star standard despite the label.

"What a gem — a beautiful and calm place!" The hospitality was outstanding. The night shift front desk girl (sorry I forgot her name) was amazingly helpful, and the manager in the breakfast area was also very kind. The entire team was simply perfect! The food from the restaurant was absolutely delicious, and the building itself has such a peaceful atmosphere with lots of beautiful architectural touches. Keep it up, guys! As hotel guests, we rarely come across this level of service and genuine kindness nowadays. Truly appreciated! 🌟

This hotel was an absolute gem! Located just 20 minutes from the airport and about 25 minutes from Palma, it’s perfectly situated in a charming village with shops, restaurants, and local markets all within walking distance. We especially loved the local markets on Thursday and Saturday—such a nice touch of local life.||From the moment we arrived, everything felt luxurious. The property is like a peaceful little oasis with limited rooms, which makes the experience feel intimate and exclusive. The staff were incredibly friendly and helpful, offering thoughtful touches like beach bags, towels, and great local tips.||The rooms are on the smaller side but beautifully designed and very well optimized for comfort. Storage could be a bit better, but that’s a minor point. The entire property is quiet and relaxing, making it perfect for a restful stay.||The hotel has its own private gym, sauna, and spa, which added a wonderful wellness aspect to our stay. The on-site restaurant is fantastic—it also serves breakfast, which includes an à la carte menu and a generous buffet with pastries, sandwiches, yogurt, ham, cheese, and more. The coffee was just okay, but everything else more than made up for it.|Street parking was free and easy, which is always a plus.||All in all, we absolutely loved our stay and would come back in a heartbeat!

Sa Creu is a hidden jewel. Campos as a location might not be well known, but that is exactly an advantage in overcrowded Mallorca. You get tranquility and relaxation, an intimate pool area, amazing service, but above all staff who are genuinely striving to give you the best possible experience. Everyone on the team was very friendly and helpful, going the proverbial extra mile - whether it was about finding the best beach for a certain day (with beaches and calas getting very busy during weekend in the high season), reserving a good restaurant last minute, and more. Their dedication to providing exceptional service is palpable in every moment. We would like to particularly thank Alice Silva who has made our stay so incredible – you are awesome! On the restaurant side their Tress restaurant is delicious and recommendable. Beaches are only 20 mins away, and Palma is just 30 mins, so it’s still very central (even for Tramuntana - around is about 40 mins to Valdemossa). Only minor point that could still be optimised is the gym, but it wasn’t a priority for us. Highly recommended for people who like the smaller format of a boutique hotel with exceptional customer service. Thank you for making our stay so beautiful!

Mixed review! Hotel felt clean and most staff were really very helpful. Breakfast was standard, nothing special but was fine. Room was nice and large, but totally open toilet and shower|Gym was very small, only two machines but was fine for what I used it for and staff brought over fresh water. |Location was not great, nothing open in the area and so we ate at the same pizza place every evening. Nothing going on and so would 100% recommend a car if staying here.

Cozy place, quiet and beautiful. Plenty of parking around the hotel. Staff is very friendly and the cocktails by the pool were great. However, we won’t be coming back. Some reasons are: - Check-in was very, very slow - No vegan options for lunch or dinner. One or two for breakfast. - Soap, body wash, shampoo and conditioner, all contain honey - The bathtub, one of the reasons for getting that room, was extremely uncomfortable. - There was a huge TV awkwardly placed in a corner of the room, and strangely, no remote control (¿?).

I stayed at Sa Creu Nova Petit Palais Art & Spa expecting a relaxing, premium end to my Mallorca trip — but this place was a complete letdown.||Let’s start with the so-called “spa.” The massage I received was handled by what seemed to be an untrained freelancer. There was no consultation, no explanation, and no professionalism. After the treatment, I felt genuinely unwell and raised my concerns — only to be met with a cold, dismissive attitude from the general manager. No apology, no accountability. It genuinely makes me question why “Spa” is even in the hotel’s name.||I was told I would be refunded for the treatment. That refund never came. Now, the hotel is claiming it’s conditional on a “medical report.” For the record, I did provide a cited source from a credible medical institution — not a “random Google link,” as the manager falsely claimed in their public response. Dismissing that information was not only unprofessional but evasive.||In their reply, the manager also claimed I gave positive feedback at checkout — which is simply false. In fact, no one even assisted me properly during checkout. I waited a long time (as other reviewers have noted), and no one asked for feedback at all.||I never praised the restaurant. Breakfast was poor, with limited, bland options. Dinner felt awkward and underwhelming — served in the same space, on plastic chairs, lacking any atmosphere or luxury feel.||It’s deeply troubling that, instead of taking responsibility, the hotel is now attempting to rewrite the guest experience in public. That alone speaks volumes. I stand by every part of this review.||The hotel may look beautiful in photos, but the service, attitude, and attention to detail are far below 5-star standards. If you’re looking for real hospitality, comfort, and care — I suggest you look elsewhere.

PROS are a very pretty place, our room was large and well designed. The Spa is wonderful, they give you the whole place for yourself (steam, sauna, jaccuzi) for an hour. CONS for us was the service. Not sure if it was because of the end of the season and staff was burnt out, or just lacking training, but the team felt very awkward around the guests. Weird eye contact, snappy responses. It felt uncomfortable overall.
