Their oxtails is too expensive and they don’t even trim the fat anymore. It used to be better than this. Imagine buying 15lbs and taking almost 5 lbs of fat of it. Management be aware in case you weren’t! That’s not halal behavior really 🤦🏽‍♀️

Place doesn't look super clean. The raw chicken was open in boxes for customers to grab themselves. Saw long hair in the box. Customers were also touching the hanging meat with their bare hands.

Got the opportunity to visit Saad today. Its halal. It’s a great one stop shop for you protein needs. Be ready and covered to go into a walk in freezer. There’s a wide variety of items such as hotdogs, beef, chicken, lamb, fish. You can get the items according to your need such as leg quarters, drumsticks, wings, whole chicken etc. the prices are far by the best there are in town. The staff is friendly. The place is clean. It’s a do it yourself place. So you get a bag, wear gloves and put everything in yourself. The meat and lamb section had guys there to help with cutting and weighing. Parking was easy to find. They have a parking lot next to the store. It was an amazing experience. We were done with everything in about 15 minutes. So there’s no extra wait. Do check them out for your next grocery day.

My family and I have been going to Saad for many years... and as the young members grow up I send them to Saad my brothers and I are here Every weekend.... we go from saad to the kitchen to the grill.. prices to me means nothing...its the quality of there products that makes the difference and staff are big family and they treat you as such... I recommend everyone to at least stop in to see for themselves...my freezer is full now with Saad product.... the butchers are Artists with their Knives... customer service is un matched.. go in any shop at the market and breath in... then go to Saad...FRESH is all you smell.

Worst experience ever today. I went there early morning to get fresh meat. . They cut precut meat beef from when I don’t know. There is no way they can cut those sliced steak that early in the morning as soon they open. I asked small peice of meat he just grab these steaks and cut them very small slices without asking me or addressing any of my concern. When asked questions they become very defensive never go back again.

Best meat for wholesale prices in Metro Detroit. Good variety of selection. They cut to your choosing size and the staff are very courteous and polite. Store is well maintained and clean. Be prepared to walk into a hall with freezing temperatures. 🥶.

This use to be a great place for getting a good quality for good value. Now day prices are too high and quality is going dawn. Still can get some fish and chicken sometimes but I will no longer buy red meat here anymore

Second time ordering from their website to ship to New York. I absolutely love their meat! I have ordered chicken breast, thighs, and leg quarters. Just recently purchased something new - their rib eye - can't wait to grill it! The order is shipped perfectly- fast- organized - insulated and still frozen when I get it. Perfect for stocking my freezers. Saad employees go above and beyond! I absolutely recommend them for any meat your looking to buy!

Went on a Tuesday before Ramadan, extremely packed. This was my first time here and I will definitely be back, store was very clean. Workers constantly bringing product out, exchanging bins and product and keeping everything moving along. The prices are great, and selection is incredible! Will be back again.

After my adventure at Berry & Sons I went down Orleans street to Saad Wholesale Meats at 2814 to check out what kind of meat they carried. This butcher store is more like a butcher shop. When you go in there is a lobby that you go into when you enter the building, on the right hand side there is the entrance to the cold room, this is a large room with meat cutters working as well as the room having lot of tables and bins with all kinds of meat piled up on them. Here I got a boned out leg of lamb to make Lamb Ham. As I type the the lamb is in the brine and in a couple of days it will be going in the smoker. As well as lamb they had chicken and beef. There was a table with many boned out primal cuts of beef. I ask for a rib eye about an 1 1/2" thick and one was cut and bagged up for me. When I got it home it was just a beautiful cut of beef deep red, except it wasn't a rib eye, to be honest I'm not sure what cut of beef it was. I treated it like a rib eye did a reverse sear and it was just wonderful!! Highly recommended

A halal meat market in Eastern market, how can you go wrong? This place is everything you would think it would be. It's out of the way it has a dirt parking lot and you walk into what seems to be a store size cooler, LOL. My first impressions were I'll give this place a try and see how it goes, and I was very happy. They have lots of Frozen selection that you buy by the piece, (please use gloves) and they have freshly butchered meat including lamb mutton and goat. They're pre-cut Frozen lamb chops are inexpensive but not the best cut however they taste just as good. If you want a new experience or if you have some specialty needs check this place out.

First visit was unplanned. Went for a burger at Cutter's (no need to repeat) and drove by Saad. Decided to swing in after the burger and was taken aback by the facility. Butchers working on sides of beef, cutting steaks at the band saw and assisting customers. It's a help yourself environment with gloves readily available. The whole place is a true meat locker. A bit gritty but full of meat. I purchased 5lbs of ground lamb and lamb chops. Ground lamb was packaged ready for you in a bag and lamb chops were in a box open for your choosing. I purchased 10 or 12 and haven't cooked them yet, but anxious to do. The ground lamb was beautiful. Pristine red with a good amount of fat and coarse ground, perfect for my home recipes. I made fatiya, meatballs, and stuffed cabbage. I'll be back for more ground lamb and chops. Might go for steaks next

The quality and quantity of their food and the service is quick and out the door! Better hours? And more baskets for the food!

Have you ever been to a wholesale butcher shop? I haven't and so I showed up in shorts, flip flops and a T-shirt. Mistake, it was like a Michigan winter inside that place. Plus they were other customers so I stood there nearly freezing to death. Eventually someone helped me and I stood out near the cashiers where it was summer again. The staff was wonderful and helpful. Prices were pretty decent for halal meat.

Surprised I haven't been here before, but they have everything - chicken all ways (whole, tenders, wings, etc) a ton of beef products, as well as lamb (whole ones). I stuck to chicken and bought a jug of the tawook marinade - came out amazing at home. For the price, especially if you are buying quantity, go here.

Fantastic quality number one! The butchers filed 2 beef tenderloins trimmed off the silver skin and cut them for kabobs. They came out wonderful! Very good price for the high quality! I would recommend Saads Meats to anyone looking for high quality meats

Best Halal Meat Market in Detroit, MI hands down. I've been to many meat markets in the area and none are as clean as Saads. If your looking for nice prices with great quality meat please go here.

Everything about the meat I got from here was phenomenal. The place itself is not the most inviting--but how inviting do you want a butchery to be? Wear a coat and be prepared to stick your hands in some gloves to dive into the raw meat. If you want clean and delicious meats, come here! We got a few chicken drummies, lamb shanks to die for, ground turkey, and some rib eye steaks. My girlfriend looked at me once we finished eating the drums and said, "This taste like chicken. Like actual chicken". We didn't realize how flavorless the meat we'd been eating from the average grocery store was! the lamb and turkey were the same--not gamey, but very fresh!

I have been buying meat from them for couple of years now. looking at the gas prices now, and their prices I don't see much difference. Yes chicken and steaks n all is good and cheap, but they always rush everything. for nice and friendly service, go early morning.

OK, it's gritty, So are the Eastern Market and Detroit. If you're squeamish or easily frightened by surroundings, don't come to Saads. It's real. A lot of people don't like reality. If that's you, then go elsewhere and pay more for lesser quality. BUT if you want the best halal meat available at very fair prices, then do come here. A friend introduced me to Saad's a couple of years ago. I've come back several times a year. BTW, the butchers and the check-out people are enormously polite and respectful. So I cannot understand why some reviewers think differently. Bottom line for me: the best halal butcher shop going in SE Michigan. I love coming here.

Saad Wholesale Meats has excellent meats, but the gentleman that helps to the car with unloading was very rude, disrespectful very unfriendly. He has no customer service!! I would not recommend his help to anyone!!

What a wonderful experience!! Everyone was very friendly, from the ladies up front to the butchers in the back. I bought a whole Lamb to roast on a spit. The price was very reasonable! I will go back again!

I placed an online order so I don't have to go inside with my 3 kids. 5 minutes later, they called me to clarify the order. I got there, they went over the items, and put it in my trunk. Awesome service, awesome meat, great new online ordering. Highly recommend this place for anyone.

I tried this store recently. Been looking for a place to buy inexpensive meat, especially lamb and goat. They do sell for less, and there seems to be quite a bit of variety. I especially liked that they sell goat shanks (1.69 per lb) and lamb shanks. These are awesome for making bone soup and other ethnic dishes. Haven't been able to find these anywhere else in the Novi/Farmington area. Wholesale goat is cheap (2.69/lb) compared to more than double that in Indian/Middle Eastern meat stores. The only catch is that they only sell a whole or half a goat, not retail. They will chop it up for you though. It's not so bad, half a goat comes to about 12-15 lbs, so you could stock up or split with friends. Cons: I thought the sales people weren't the friendliest. They sell from inside a big meatlocker as well, like most wholesalers. So if you get squeamish at the sight of a bunch of skinned animals hanging from hooks (heads intact with the skin off!) get someone else to go in for you =) I will go back again and write if the experience is any different

Shout out to my Main Man Mo! He is always right on and can make sure you get the choice cuts! Plus everything is super fresh, clean and cut just how you like it. I am a regular here and it will stay that way for as long as they are around. Can't beat the prices and location is great.

First time ever coming here and I was pleased on how they treated me and was very helpful on the different meats the sell and prices for all of them. I do like the whole cutting the animal right there instead of looking at mystery meat. The staff was friendly. The cuts of meat were cheaper then going to Walmart or Meijer. I'll be coming here now on for my goat and lamb.

Best place to get fresh meet and chicken with a very reasonable price !! And I like their chicken sheesh kebab they pre make !! It taste like home made one

The meats prices are very inexpensive. That is the only positive I can think of. Some of their employees are very very rude. For that reason, I'm giving one star.

Freshest meat, clean place, cheapest prices around and very friendly staff. They carry a wide variety of meats and chicken. Can't forget the lunch meat "Sharifa halal" the best i have ever tasted. If you haven't checked this place out yet, you definitely should :-)

Great meat market and butcher. Depending on the day there is a language gap with the workers. Meat is always fresh and at a good price.

Great Service!! I was able to use my EBT Card. And good prices, normally I use up the entire money on my food EBT Card shopping at your regular grocery markets, and by the middle of the month I'm out of food. But, not at Saad! At Saad I was able to over fill my freezer.. So glad they take EBT. This meat will last me probably a month to two months but I'm still going to make sure I shop there every month...

Absolutely love this place. I will not get my meat from anywhere else. The staff is so friendly and willing to help anyone that has any questions. Everything is very reasonably priced and I feel like I get way more for my money than if I went anywhere else. Love the quality of the meat as well. I am never disappointed.

Love this place very cheap and great service love the way the workers there run up to you and ask if you need any help and they get you what you want fast I'll defiantly be coming here again

First time shopper from one who does buy there meat from a butcher counter instead of prepackaged, I was very impressed the staff was helpful, the prices were fantastic and loved the fact they took my lamb shoulder and cut it into stew meat saving me a lot of time. We will definitely be doing most of our meat shopping at Saad's.

For starters, I found this Market on Yelp. I was looking for a place to buy affordable lamb. My heritage is English and Irish, and grew up regarding nice leg of lamb and chops as part of our diet, and it has always been my favorite meat meal. If you do love lamb do not be put off by the market, which is basically a big refrigerated room with a few whole and 1/2 lambs and goat, hanging from racks in the middle of the room and one wall with bins (?) filled with less preferred cuts , shanks, hearts livers etc, I didn't see any legs or chops or ground meat for sale there.I am guessing they were going to restaurants. The meat I got was high end restaurant quality. First off most of the customers were ( like me ) buying a half or whole lamb to be cut up to order. I chose a whole lamb. 28 lbs I chose to have it cut into 2 legs 2 shanks, and the rest into chops and shoulder steaks?. (more than 2 dozen of the choice little chops plus maybe 6 more shoulder steaks) What was left was about 8 lbs of meaty bones and plate for stews, soups and broth for barley soup YUMMM All of this for $3.89 per lb. Of course I did the taste test right away ,(while I was packaging with my seal a meal.) I personally prefer a little " gamey- er" flavored lamb like you get in Australia and Ireland this is more for American taste, a mild hint of lamb . but I am definately not complaining, and my guests will prefer it I am sure....It was delicious!!! I did buy 2 goat shanks I may like that even more. Professional helpful staff, a great young man who insisted on helping me to my car. Even not knowing what the heck I was doing, I was in and out in less than 20 minutes.

they sell for less since it is like wholesale but the location is in the getto of detroit. the place is a big cooler you freeze your ass in it. a big selection of meats, chicken and ready to cook meats. service is not great, so if you like to save few bucks it is worth a shot.
