Google
Just based on the sesame chicken lunch special that was $15, was not impressed, too much breading chicken was tiny strips almost couldn’t see the chicken, sauce was ok, also not a fan of corn and carrots in the egg drop soup, we are from ny so that’s what I am comparing to but I have had kosher Chinese in at least 10 different cities, favorite was in DC, and Shanghai that unfortunately closed in Brooklyn

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Unforgettable Flavors! Best Ribeye Skewer Pita Ever! I just had the ribeye skewer pita with French fries at Saba’s Grill & Wok, and WOW—I’m still thinking about how delicious it was! The ribeye was incredibly juicy and tender, perfectly grilled, and packed with amazing flavor. The pita was soft and fresh, wrapping everything together beautifully. And let’s talk about the sauces—each one was an absolute game-changer! Every dip, every bite was bursting with next-level taste. The fries were crispy and seasoned just right, making the perfect side to an already incredible meal. If you’re looking for the best combination of flavor, quality, and freshness, this is the place to go. Can’t wait to come back and try more!

Great food. Large portions. Great prices.

Google
I just started keeping kosher fully, and was interested in seeing if kosher Thai was as good as the treif. This is as good as it gets, ladies and gentlemen! The Pad Thai was quite tasty and as close as you can get to the real thing without the oyster and fish sauce. Both Saba’s locations are excellent and very reasonably priced. We took our food to go, but the place looked nice for dine-in as well. I’ll be back.

Google
Overall pretty good place for Kosher food. My company needed catering from a Kosher establishment and Saba’s prepared really delicious food. The Owner named Natalie was cordial, straightforward, and practical. Place is clean and service is solid. Just be aware that they are not marked as closed during Jewish holidays. Call in advance before making a drive out here if you if you are not sure if they are open or not.

Google
My parties meals were not as good as mine. My Birria tacos were extremely good. Good amount of pulled beef in there. Prices high, beware of the Chinese section of the menu u might not get good results.

Google
I go around reviewing restaurants & eateries worldwide.... the main purpose obviously is to educate other foodies. Saba's Grill & Wok was unfortunately disappointing. For it to be reviewed at the level it is I was not impressed. It gets a 3/5 stars specifically because of taste to value. Overall the establishment is small and intimate so that's a plus. Menu choices are more than enough to choose from so that's good. Menu was diverse as well. I chose the Avocado Chicken Wrap. $20! I obviously came in to review so the cost did not matter because I have a duty to review. The plate came out and the initial amount of fries was an amount for a toddler child. I asked what is this and the waiter said that's the plate. I told him I'd have to buy a side of fries. The side of fries came out in an adult portion. This is disappointing specially because fries are universally cheap. Why skimp on this side and risk disappointing return or new customers. All in all the meal with not drink (I had water) was $27. $27 is a meal price that I've had at real restaurants where you get plate food that is fully cooked. I would not recommend at their prices & gave them a 3/5 stars ⭐️ out of generosity. On to the next #BonVivant

Google
First time trying this neighborhood grill. The burgers look pretty good, but I decided to try the Chinese lunch special. The hot and sour soup after two spoonfuls was way too salty for me. The chicken with broccoli was okay, but nothing above a 2 out of 5. The egg roll however was chunky and delicious. Sauce was good. I might give this place another try.

Yelp
Wow! Food is out of this world. I've come here over 6 times, and leave satisfied each time. Huge plus they are closed on Shabbat!

Yelp
Love coming here for lunch, they have great selection of kosher food, the place is clean and inviting.

Yelp
Great food. Saba has a large menu. I don't live in Houston but when in town, I always enjoy Saba's. The Asian dishes are delicious!

Yelp
I am often reluctant to offer a negative review...however, this place was bad enough. Hoping this can be constructive as I desire this place turns things around. We ordered a few items from the menu, including a simple burger and fries and everything was inedible. Their eclectic menu includes Chinese food, sandwiches and more...and none of the items remotely resembled the pictures on their menu printout. The service was also lackluster. Notably, this could have been an off day and we may not have ordered from their best items. One star.

Yelp
Good food, nice service. Very clean and good and tasty food. The land special is the good value. I also love the jalapeno hamburger.

Yelp
The best kosher good hands down! Chinese food is addictive! I'm a loyal Customer to great food and service! Love, Sonja

Yelp
Not a bad place. The strip center is a little sparse but the inside is nice for a group to hang out. The food was not so great unfortunately. I ordered hot and sour soup with Dan Dan noodles. The soup was manly a beef broth that was not sour nor was it spicy. Not much in the way of Asian flavor. The Dan Dan noodles were not a favorite. The flavor was okay but it was a greasy dish. I'm going to give the grill items a try because I think that might be more in their wheelhouse.

Yelp
I highly recommend this restaurant! I've enjoyed eating here over the years that I have made Houston my home. They have always been welcoming, friendly and delicious! If you're ever looking for a great place where you can enjoy great American fare, Saba's is your destination! - BON Appetit

Yelp
I've tried Saba's several times and it's never been a good experience. While it's great to have a kosher restaurant that serves Chinese food in the city, the standard is really high in a place like Houston with such a great Asian food scene. Likewise for Mediterranean dishes, neither of which Saba's does well. I've had a unwieldy wrap that was bulging with overcooked chicken and eggplant that was soggy and greasy. Even the basic "add your protein of choice" Asian dishes were underwhelming. If you need a kosher restaurant or want Mediterranean or Asian food in the Meyerland area, there are better choices right around the corner.
google avatar

Ali K.

Yelp
Kosher and hence Halal :) You order at the counter and then pick up your order We tried mostly the asian cuisine here although I've heard their Israeli and Palestinian menu items are quite good too. The orange chicken is a great app to share I think although the chicken tacos were fresh and shareable as well. The spice level was surprising (not over whelming but the spice level is higher than you'd expect) Great place for those who keep Kosher or Halal and want a variety to choose from The cafeteria style is not for everyone but we didn't mind too much.

Yelp
Was going to give 2 starts because the atmosphere is nice... but: The girl at the front was on her phone on a personal call while taking my order, and looked as high as a kite, which I wouldn't care about if she could at least be somewhat hospitable rather than look bothered by any interaction. (I'm a generally happy and very polite person, and I worked in the industry and always make it a point to be courteous to all restaurant staff). Onto the food, I ordered the Shawarma The turkey meat itself tastes really good although it was barely warm, but a microwaved pita that didn't even get to see the grill?! Really?!?!? And the salad had no condiments at all! It was as dry as your grandma's privates. I brought it up to the girl in the front, and she practically tells me that I'm wrong, but I don't want to type the whole thing... she asked me to bring her the pita, so I'm walking back and forth to have my food remedied... I walk back to my table and 5 minutes later she brings me that same pita I had bitten into and a few condiments to make my own salad dressing... So they just put the half bitten pita on the grill and brought it back... that's got my saliva on it, I wouldn't want someone's spit on the grill that cooks everyone's food! Plus it was microwaved for so long that it felt like chewing on a piece of rubber. It was a convenient stop between patients, but I will definitely never be back! Total cost $26.80 for a lunch with one dish and no drink.

Yelp
Delicious kosher Chinese. Well seasoned. A lot of other non Chinese style items on the menu. Not as expensive as I would have thought for being kosher. Will come back.
google avatar

Tim C.

Yelp
The General Tso's Chicken was very tasty and better than a few oriental places we've tried in the area. The wonton soup disappeared as soon as it hit the table, the wontons were large and full of meat and the broth had lots of flavor. They have pasta dishes, hummus and lots of different cuisines on the menu and we'll need to come back and sample a few. Great service too.

Yelp
Stay away!! I hate to say this but all know that kosher restaurants aren't up to par as other restaurants! That's a sacrifice you make when you keep kosher like me! but this place really sets the bar lower!! Unlike other people I don't like to praise a restaurant just because they're kosher, this food really sucks. We tried 3 dishes, none were good. Their other dishes might be different but what makes you think if they can't get Mongolian beef , orange chicken or general Tsu right they can anything else right??? It's Just covered with excessive amount of sauce to mask the taste. If that's what you want fine, but I'm sure there are other kosher restaurants with better service and food. Lucky for all of us there are other kosher options! I highly suggest you try another... Hope that helps another person:)

Yelp
Kosher and delicious! The food at the restaurant was amazing. They have a very broad menu, mostly Mediterranean with some Asian dishes as they want to offer all kind of variety of kosher food to their clients. The attention in the place was great, even when they were very busy, and the price was very fair. The food as I said was great but I just love their babaganoush, salad and dip Combo, specially their matbucha and I had a mix grill plate with all the meats loving them all ! Recommend 100% Plenty parking outside

Yelp
Very niceLy decorated multicultural Kosher restaurant certified by both Houston Kosher and TEXAS Mehadrin. They serve oriental, Israeli (Middle Eastern), and American choices; but mainly oriental. Very clean and order at counter and food delivered to the table. The portion sizes are www hat you expect of a kosher establishment and the attempts at varied foods is good. If coming be aware that prices are 50-100% more than non kosher establishments, but Houstonian's are lucky to be able to get restaurant cooked oriental food.

Ephraim B.

Yelp
Outstanding food, fair price, and terrific people. They delivered to my hotel while I was in Houston for three days for business. The food was hot, tasty, and more than enough. I highly recommend them.
google avatar

Eric L.

Yelp
Very good shawarma! I had two meals here on a recent trip to Houston, and I was very impressed with the kosher dining options. The portions here are pretty generous. And the Chinese dishes are also great.
google avatar

Yelp
Took family for dinner, glad to see a new place in Meyerland/Westbury. Sabas' has many flavors in one place. I had shawarma plate which was solid, grilled veggies and there was a nice spicy sauce. kids had burgers and wife had stir fry. Burgers were super fresh meat and large with healthy portion of big steak fries. I want to come back for stir fry as wife's dish was the best and I was jealous. They have some legit woks in employment going to flavor town. All on display so you can see the action if you like. This pace is kosher so don't ask for cheese on your burger or you will get a funny look. This is Meyerland so a kosher place will get plenty of business. I am not kosher but I will be back for sure, kosher to me means food will very likely be fresh and care is taken in the preparation and handling of the food. That is the case here.

Yelp
I've been meaning to stop by saba's since it opened, but I kept forgetting. Decided to get take out for lunch today and ordered the orange peel chicken. I was astounded by how high the prices were ($17 for one dish), but when I got my meal, I inhaled it. They give you a large portion enough for 2 so that somewhat makes up for the steep price. My orange chicken had real orange peels in it and the meat was thin, not the usual breaded mess you get at Americanized Chinese restaurants. I also liked you get a choice of brown or white rice which was also generous portion. The bell peppers and onions are chopped finely so you're not sticking a bell pepper the size of your mouth and trying to chew. Overall, I was impressed and would like to go back and try their grill side and some other dishes, as long as I can share them with someone.

Yelp
First time in Houston Took my family here The owner was so patient under fire Tons of people ordering and asking questions and he dealt with it so calmly and pleasant Food was delicious too! Would come back

Alan P.

Yelp
Love their Asian fusion dishes, among the best I have ever had. Unfortunately after talking this up with a friend, we arrived for lunch to a sign that said no Asian cooking on that day. Their Mediterranean dishes are good too but to not serve half your menu was disappointing. Still i look forward to going back and hopefully the issue will have been resolved.

Yelp
Fantastic kosher food. I was recommended to come here, and it was worth the recommendation. I got the Saba spicy special (similar to an orange beef) and it was filling and delicious. Staff was extremely nice and attentive. Especially the cashier. Will definitely come again.
google avatar

Jay R.

Yelp
Here is another good place for lunch. It's a mix between Mediterranean and Asian cuisine. The Good: The staff has a great attitude. The portions are big. The Bad: The food was a little bland, I was anticipating a little more seasoning in the meats. The interesting: love the decor in this restaurant. Try it and let me know your thoughts.

Crystal John K.

Yelp
Orange chicken was my favorite. I was surprised how good the orange chicken was. Tacos are good as well. Soup was good. Friendly staff.
google avatar

Nadia V.

Yelp
This place has middle eastern food, Thai food and even burgers. It's a kosher spot so prices are a bit on the high end and food is made to order so even a to go order will take a bit to be ready. But my food was delicious and the portion was satisfying. I had the shawarma pita and it came with a few fries but I was very full. It was fresh and quality ingredients. Definitely worth a stop if in the area. They do have eat in and take out. I can't wait to try some of the other items.
google avatar

Brandon H.

Yelp
Love all the food here. Especially the kung pao and orange peel chicken. Fast service always
google avatar

Benjy G.

Yelp
Excellent food, really nice decor. The wait staff was very attentive and professional. Had the Hummus and Beef Cigar appetizers, the beef cigars were very good with a little spicy bite that wasn't overwhelming. I've never had better or fresher pita bread. We had the Shwarma plate and Steak Kabob plate, both entrees were excellent. The Israeli salad was very refreshing and the coleslaw was also very good.
google avatar

John D.

Yelp
Saba's is kosher, but even if you're like me and know nothing of that and don't have a Yarmulke in your wardrobe you'll like the place. It's a mix of Israeli food, burgers, and Chinese food. I don't know if you can get more Meyerland than this place. Try the beef cigars, a thin roll of beef in a phyllo dough and fried with a zippy side of tahini sauce. The Chinese food is quality stuff, too. The appetizers are big enough to share with the table. It's not cheap but everything is fresh and tasty.
google avatar

Preston I.

Yelp
I ordered the shawarma on pita bread, which came with a side of french fries. I liked every part of my meal except the cabbage. And I really didn't like that cabbage. I had to take all of it out before I could finish the sandwich. The beef was delicious. The white sauce was just okay, but the red sauce was spicy and added a nice kick. This was my first time here, and the staff was very welcoming and helped me order something that I would enjoy. I will be back soon to try one of their chicken entrees.
google avatar

Forrest D.

Yelp
Despite living close by, I had never tried Saba's Grill and Wok. We went and had a Chicken Schnitzel "laffa" (I think that was the name) and a Kung Pao chicken. Each was excellent; I mean really good. The chicken had lots of flavor, and had been wokked with some kind of great sauce. Saba's Kung Pao chicken is now the standard against which I shall judge all other Kung Pao chickens. The chicken schnitzel was very tasty, too. I can't believe I never tried this place. I will be back. Recommended.
google avatar

Carolyn C.

Yelp
Where else but Houston can you find a Kosher Israeli and Chinese restaurant? Warm atmosphere in a modern dining room where you order at the counter. We tried Chinese Dan Dan Noodles and Almond and Cashew Chicken, and were very pleased with both. The Noodles were a perfect al dente texture with a crispy chicken in a spicy sauce accompanied by crunchy cucumber, bean sprouts and scallions. Will need to try some Israeli dishes on our next visit.
google avatar

Bijal K.

Yelp
As someone who doesn't follow kosher, I found the food to be fine (I ordered tofu with general TSO sauce) but couldn't believe how expensive it was... almost $20. The gentleman at the register was nice and although I probably wouldnt frequent the place, it is nice to have kosher options in the area.

Yelp
The other evening my husband and I went with some friends to Saba's Grill on South Braeswood and Chimney Rock for dinner. I ordered vegetable lo mein .  The person who took my order was very rude; obviously in a bad mood, but I tried to overlook it thinking he may have had a stressful day.  When my order was delivered, the noodles were so greasy I could not eat it.  The waiter came over and asked what the problem was.  I asked if he could just add plain noodles to sop up all the extra grease as the noodles were sliding all over the plate. A while later the owner, Oren Cohen, came back with the exact same slippery dish.  I explained that this was the same as I returned.  (He was the same person who had originally taken my order.) He said in a very nasty tone of voice, "You ordered lo mein and that's what you got."  He took my plate away and never returned. While my husband and friends were eating, I thought he'd return with plain noodles or some remedy, but, he never returned. He also didn't reimburse us for the money we paid for my meal, despite  my husband leaving our name and telephone number so he could call and make arrangements. I was told, that as an Israeli his attitude is cultural.  We have family in Israel and none of them are rude or unkind.  This man is doing business in the United States where apparently we respond more politely to our customers.  He ignores the fact that his customers pay his income.  He showed that he just doesn't care if he loses a customer.  It's so unfortunate we have one less kosher restaurant we can support.

Yelp
Very impressed about this little place , the food is fresh and tasty . Very amazing middle eastern flavor . Recommended

Yelp
Went again to Saba with a couple of friends... my 6th time Very clean as usual Had the ribeye lafa, very delicious my other two friends got falafel pita and the sesame chicken, they loved it .... will go back to try more... again abit of addtional flavor would be awesome

Yelp
Hey you don't have to drive far if you have a friendly neighborhood Kosher-Asian-Mediterranean fusion place. Very friendly service, Original menu!
google avatar

David G.

Yelp
One of the best kosher food experiences I have had outside of New York or Los Angeles. I jokingly even question if they are really kosher because the service was so good. :-) Most kosher restaurants don't put much into customer service but the people were very friendly and they did a superb job packaging to go orders and getting the order exactly right. We had two huge orders one coming into Galveston and one leaving to go back to Dallas. And each order was exactly right food was hot and fresh and I really wish there was a Chinese place that's good in Dallas
google avatar

Nokno A.

Yelp
New kosher restaurant in Meyerland. The menu is diverse and the servings are Plentiful (enough to take extra home in case you get hungry later). I can't wait to try their other items.

Lia C.

Yelp
This was an order from DoorDash. Kung Pao chicken and an order of egg rolls. First, they sent flautas instead of egg rolls. The Kung Pao chicken was not only the worst Chinese food I've ever had, it was probably one of the worst meals I've ever had. Period. Absolutely flavorless- I couldn't detect any taste at all. It was also greasy and overcooked. Despite being starving I could only force a few bites. Adding insult to injury is the fact that you pay a premium here because the food is kosher. If you need to find kosher food look elsewhere.
google avatar

Ericka F.

Yelp
It's good but there are better places that are much cheaper! So if it's kosher I guess that's why you pay more. But I'm not sooooo I'll pass We split a sandwich, cigars and one soda and it was like 25 bucks! Had much better for less. I guess had to reiterate that;)
google avatar

Lindsey P.

Yelp
Lovely interior and friendly counter service. You order at the register and they bring the food to your table. Interesting menu of grill, Mediterranean and Chinese. I ordered the hummus which came on a plate sprinkles with spices. Smooth creamy texture and quite light. Served with a warm pita. Not really enough bread to finish the hummus but they brought us another one with the meal. My son ordered the shawarma plate which was more than enough for two people. The mixed meat was tasty even though we couldn't determine what the origin of the meat was. Food was fresh and hot. Total for the one meal and hummus came to $28
google avatar

Kelly T.

Yelp
I decided to try a new place for lunch and I tried Saba's for the first time. I ordered the Shawarma in the pita which was 10.50 and a soda. I like the fact that everything was prepared fresh and served nice and hot when I got it. The restaurant was very clean and the staff was friendly and helpful. I can say that I wish the prices were a bit lower. I think my bill was 15.00 for the sandwich, a couple of fries and bottle soda. I also saw some dishes for 18.00 but they did seem to have quite a bit more food on them.
google avatar

Farid K.

Yelp
The shawarma was really good and huge Bur the taco appetizer plate (which was 14$)i think was not worth. Overall clean place and welcoming atmosphere The lady at register was polite and explained everything Would recommend for family dinner
google avatar

Tami O.

Yelp
Love this place! Great food and service- chicken fried rice is amazing and the steak tacos are delicious!

Doreen J.

Yelp
I am really concerned as to why Saba's is not making it known whether they are open or closed due to Corona Virus restrictions. I love their food. A friend of ours was so impressed with his dinner that he has asked us to deliver take out to him this evening. He is elderly and not very well, so would need to know if you have stayed open?
google avatar

Raul M.

Yelp
I found by asking locals where good place to eat in local neighborhood. Several mention the new Saba and their menu. The only thing They did not tell me was the portions. I ate here several times while I was in Houston and never a bad meal, the beef was cooked right not overcooked and dried out. Freshness hot ; nice place to bring anyone, the grilling is fantastic vegetables are grilled crispy freshness
google avatar

Joe M.

Yelp
Very impressed with this place. I ate here twice and was happy with the food I ordered. Prices are pretty decent and the service is great. We ordered the humus plate it was served with a hot pita fresh out of the oven. And the kebob plate was tasty. They have the best fries! My girlfriend ordered the grilled chicken salad and loved it. The chicken was tender and wasn't dried out. Definitely try out this new spot
google avatar

Karen P.

Yelp
The kosher food here is authentic. It's a mix between Israeli and Chinese though, which I have yet to try the Asian food. I had a huge beef shawarma wrap with the fries inside. I prefer the fries to be outside of the wrap, but that's my personal taste. Food is made ready to order and just super fresh. Check out this place in the Jewish community!
