This restaurant felt like home! I remembered going as a child and decided to revisit as an adult on my trip to Baltimore. Everything about Sabatinos was fantastic. The atmosphere feels like your in your Italian grandparents house. The staff were extremely friendly and even though we showed up a half hour before our reservation they seated us right away. Service here was so quick, but it didn't at all feel rushed! Our waitress Linda brought us fresh water and continued to keep our water roped off through the meal. We ordered a cherry lime soda cocktail and a white sangria to start. The cherry lime soda was incredible It tasted like a rich black cherry soda extremely refreshing. The sangria was equally refreshing and they seem to have a VERY LARGE selection of wine. Linda brought us bread as well and the bread was massive, soft and clearly fresh. We placed our order for Tortellini in the tortellini sauce and eggplant Parmesan. The food came out before I could finish my first slice of bread! Oh my goodness I can't explain how deeply delicious and rich with flavor the tortellini sauce was with peas carrots mushrooms it. The tortellini itself was so delicious and the portion was massive! The eggplant Parmesan was also phenomenal and came with a side of pasta. On our reservation we noted it was our anniversary and before we left they surprised us with a brownie and candle and wished us a happy anniversary! This meal truly made our trip worth it and I will absolutely be coming back!

Sabatino’s is a true classic! From what I’ve heard, this family-owned restaurant has been around for over 70 years—and it’s easy to see why. The atmosphere is cozy, welcoming, and full of charm. I had the rigatoni with grilled chicken, and it was absolutely delicious. The portion size was just right—not too small, not overwhelming. I actually surprised myself by finishing the entire plate—it was that good! A big shoutout to Diane, my server, who was an absolute gem. She was kind, attentive, and made the whole experience even more enjoyable. With a menu that looks as tempting as this one, I’ll definitely be coming back to try more. Highly recommend Sabatino’s if you’re looking for a memorable meal in a truly special place.

Google
Old-fashioned restaurant. I have been coming here for 10 years. Staff are nice and helpful. Food tastes exactly the same. Finally we have to have a shirt hahaha. Give them a try!!

We were sat right away. Alex was a phenomenal server! The wine was perfect, the food super yummy. The canola which we didn’t need—superb! Highly recommend!

I wanted to love it, because I'm a huge fan of "red sauce" Italian restaurants. Nice people, good service but very mediocre food. Salad was huge, but was limp. Baked rigatoni was dry and rubbery. I'd try it again, because I love the history and the people were super nice.

Google
I was really disappointed. A co-worker used to bring me eggplant Parmesan from Sabatino's 20 years ago and I LOVED it. I graduated from Strayer University at CFG Arena and wanted to go to Sabatino's for my graduation dinner. I was so disappointed and I won't be going out of my way to go there again. Oh well... 😑😑😑

We had some of the best Italian food I have ever eaten. Many things on the men are made in house (ask). Large portions, great service.

I was excited to come here for my daughter's birthday. We got there and called in to get the ramp for my wheelchair (need to get in front door with a chair). They were super friendly and helpful, getting my wheelchair and myself in to be seated. However, the rest was pretty disappointing. I was underwhelmed by the food and quality. I've visited this restaurant before and expected a lot more (15 years or so ago). A lot of the food seems to be store-bought, such as the mozzarella sticks, marinara, spaghetti, pasta, and cannolis. The only thing I think really kind of stood out would be the sausage and green peppers or chicken parmesan and for dessert, tiramisu. I'm just hoping I came on a bad night.

Yelp
Sabitinos is my only go to place in little Italy as it does not disappoint . We got the bookmaker salad that was excellent and the house dressing is so flavorful w the Parmesan cheese blended in it. We enjoyed the shrimp and salami in the salad. It is a perfect size to share. Fried calamari w red sauce on the side was crisper and had a good flavor. We ordered the chicken Parmesan to share. It was a little rubbery thus the four stars instead . We order a veal Parmesan Our server was so sweet. She was new but experienced . Finally the restaurant was not busy and we had a nice quiet table in a side room. Go there it's a must.

Yelp
Very old school Italian with typical old school waitress to match . She was a sweetheart. Ordered melon w/prosciutto- 3 huge pieces of honeydew with the meat. Ate one, had her wrap the rest up so I could have it for breakfast at my hotel, she also gave me bread and butter to go. Yum. For my entree, I had penne a la vodka. Penne was overcooked and I think they forgot the vodka. Plate was huge. Should have tried a different restaurant in Little Italy. Wouldn't recommend.

Yelp
Another non delusional fellow Saw a mouse underneath the table and they denied having any rodents. Started looking at the reviews and saw someone else's review from 3 years ago who they said was delusional. Years later and I believe more people since have seen this mouse but didn't say anything the mouse came out again. The crazy thing is that I still stayed because my college son was excited to take me there but the whole time I was looking all over making sure it didn't come find me. Anyways, made it through dinner even though I ate just a lil to not make my son feel bad on bringing me to this place. I will be posting this review on all platforms to assure you there is a mouse in this place. Also, when you enter by the phone where the wooden table is in between they have a mouse trap. Good job on not admitting to nothing and thank you for that it confirmed what I had seen without you guys accepting it.

Yelp
I hadn't been to Sabatino's in a few years so we decided to do an early Valentine's dinner there a few weeks ago. The service was great, though it was a slower weekday night. The waitress was very attentive and kind. The bread and butter were room temp- wishing it was warm! The garlic bread was excellent tho!! The eggplant and chicken parm were yummy. I loved the old fashioned Italian restaurant decor as well. Still a decent spot in Baltimore!

Yelp
Have been ordering here for years. Best Italian food around. Family orders it as a treat probably twice a year. Tortellini is unbeatable.

Yelp
I treated my team of 10 to dinner here last week Tuesday at 6 PM. The staff was friendly, and seated me at the table about an hour early since they do not have bar seating. This worked well for my meeting I had prior to the rest of my team arriving. When I shared my need to keep the meal within a certain budget, they quickly shared a family menu that we were able to choose from. This menu included, a salad, entrée, and dessert. The salad and dessert were standard, however, the team was able to choose the entrée of their choice. This also included unlimited soft drinks, water, coffee, or tea. My team seemed pleased with their options, although I believe some of them would've liked to have chosen their preferred salad dressing, or preferred dessert. The restaurant is quite small and unassuming. The decor is rustic, and the bathrooms were clean. It was quiet for a Tuesday evening, but we didn't mind as my team can get loud from time to time. The restaurant was referred to me by my staff as they work in the Baltimore office and mentioned ordering from this restaurant several times. The food was good, however, I felt some items were under seasoned. They had good reviews, so I guess it depends on the person. There are a couple parking lots about one and a half to two blocks away from the restaurant. Some who found street parking had to walk for quite sometime. Parking was relatively cheap though, some paid $5 and others paid $10. Very reasonable. Overall, everyone enjoyed the outing and dining experience.

Yelp
All our entrees were very overcooked. Overcooked expensive seafood is obviously not good.

Yelp
My wife and I are going on a cruise today and we stayed in Baltimore last night. I lived in Balto back in 2012 when i was a keeper at the zoo and never heard of this gem when I lived here. We came for dinner last evening and everything was phenomenal. We didn't have to wait. Our server, Alex was awesome and very accommodating. We had the sampler and substituted the sausage and peppers for mozzarella sticks and my wife had the Chicken Lynn and I had the eggplant and veal. It was excellent and the best gnocchi i ever had. Looks were deceiving at first but the gnocchi looked like marshmallows in Marinara sauce, but when I dug in, they were terrific! I would come back in a heartbeat

Yelp
Growing up in Baltimore and coming back to visit after 30 years in northern Virginia was especially joyful after having lunch at Sabatino's in Little Italy. The food was as amazing as I revered from my childhood and the friendly Baltimore service was great. There is an amazing amount of history and experiences that are a part of restaurants that have served great food for more than 50 years and Sabatino's in one of the greatest of all times. #GOAT

Yelp
I'm visiting Baltimore after moving away 25 years ago and met a friend for dinner. The first place I wanted to go to was Sabatino's. I was always a huge fan of their tortellini and was excited when our host told us that the same chef was still working there. My friend ordered eggplant parmigiana and I got my bowl of tortellini. Our food came our surprisingly fast, which indicated that it had probably been pre-made, which was a disappointment. The tortellini was not piping hot and didn't have the same flavor I remembered. My friend remarked that his entree was also a little lacking. The decor has not changed since I last visited, which gave me a homey feel. I just wish the food was a bit better.

Yelp
My friend and I had dinner at the Inner Harbor and stopped by Sabotino's, in Little Italy, for dessert. We were seated immediately. I loved the ambiance of the restaurant. It would be a great spot for a date. We ordered taramisu and a cannoli. My friend had coffee and I had an adult coffee beverage, a Nutty Irishman (decaf, because I'm not a coffee drinker). We loved both desserts, but the cannoli was our favorite! The cream filling was the best, homemade, and not super rich. It was like a party in my mouth! So smooth and sweet. And the pastry was perfect too! The Nutty Irishman was also good. Coffee with a sweet and minty twist. Our server was friendly and checked on us regularly. I highly suggest stopping in for dessert and coffee!

Yelp
Came here on a business trip. We really wanted to try something in "Little Italy." This seems to be about as authentic as it gets. Located in an old row-style home. Very vintage feeling. The food was very good. Particularly enjoyed the gnocchi. Prompt service. Attentive wait staff - almost like your Italian grandmother was serving you a meal.

Virginia S.

Yelp
Old school Italian restaurant which has deteriorated over the years. Lasagna was very bad--tasted sour and gnocchi was not good. Watery and had no taste. Not like any gnocchi I had ever had and not in a good way. Wait staff was pleasant and efficient.

Yelp
Old timey Italian joint in Little Italy. A lot went wrong for us. The service was friendly but the kitchen was very slow. The waitress dropped my food as she brought it out. Not her fault, but with the slow kitchen, I was worried. They knocked another one out in just a few minutes though. It was bland though. Mid food, and not worth the money. Salad dressing was powdery(!) which is a new one for me. Won't be back.

Yelp
If I could, I'd give zero stars! This used to be the best Italian restaurant in Baltimore's Little Italy; not anymore! My husband and I went with our two grandchildren, and were totally disappointed. For our appetizers we ordered Mussels in white wine and garlic sauce and Melon with Prosciutto. The mussels had absolutely no flavor, the Melon was honeydew instead of the normal antelope and was so hard you couldn't eat it and the prosciutto was Virgina ham sliced! Their pasta sauce which used to be outstanding was extremely watery and also had no flavor. All in all, a total disappointment!!!!

Yelp
One of the more mediocre Italian restaurants in Little Italy. My friend and I came here for Baltimore restaurant week to try out their 2 course dinner menu ($35 each). The interior is older fashioned and staff were friendly enough. Our server was polite but always seemed to be in a rush while servicing us with a half turned body and one foot always ready to walk away once we finished addressing him. We were given complimentary bread and butter. It would have been better if one of them was more room temperature or (warm bread in general) because trying to spread hard butter on cold soft bread smooshes the bread. Ah well. For the first course, I ordered the Fried Short Rib Ravioli while my friend ordered the Sweet Roma Italian Sausage & Peppers. The ravioli was lukewarm and very dry with not much flavor to it. It was a little better when dipped in the sauce it came with but still not great. My friend's sausage and peppers were pretty tasty which we both enjoyed more. For the second course, I got the Pan-Fried Shrimp Parmigiano which came with a side of spaghetti while my friend ordered the Shrimp Fra Diavolo. She seemed to like her dish well enough. Mine was fine, nothing spectacular but just good. The 2 course restaurant week menu wasn't that great of a deal either depending what two items you end up ordering. I had compared their regular menu to the restaurant week menu and had us get the more pricier items which only saved us about $3 each otherwise some of the other dishes, you could be spending more for the set menu price rather than just ordering individually from the regular menu for less. Again, this seems to be a pretty mediocre Italian restaurant compared to some of the others I've been to that are a lot better. Everything here is just fine enough to eat but nothing amazing. Probably not a place I'd be back though.

Yelp
We flew into Baltimore for our daughters graduation and wanted to select a good place to eat! I think we hit the jackpot with Sabatino's! All six in our party had a great time! We made reservations on OpenTable so we were assured of getting dinner prior to a graduation at John Hopkins University. We wanted a restaurant close to the University and knowing we had picky eaters we wanted a place where everyone could enjoy a great meal. Italian was the perfect choice! I chose the Penne w/Vodka sauce - it was terrific! Four of the group chose the Fettuccine Alfredo (‍) the other chose the Fettuccine Felicia. Everyone enjoyed their selection but what did matter, it was graduation night and time spent with family & friends is what this was all about! No one wanted dessert but me so I selected the White Chocolate Raspberry Cheesecake! Of course I shared had to let the table know what they passed on! Not sure if we'll make it back to Baltimore anytime soon but I would recommend going here! This was an early dinner with a reservation was at 4:30 so it wasn't crowded.

Yelp
The guy who sat next to me at the Oriole game is a local and recommended this place, along with the BookMaker salad. I was greeted immediately and seated and treated really well. Service was fantastic but slower than typical American style service, which truly made me feel like I was in Italy, or at least being served by Italians. This is a good thing, in my mind, but just thought I'd mention it for those who wanted a quick meal. So the BookMaker salad is amazing. Fresh and full of goodies. Filling. I had the small and it was a great lunch. I'll come back to try something else. :-)

Yelp
Recently, I had the pleasure of having dinner at Sabatino's, truly a Little Italy Classic. The atmosphere and decor made you feel you were in Italy. The food was incredible: the eggplant parmesan, fresh pasta and great tomato sauce. Don't miss trying the Garlic Bread with Garlic on both sides and lastly the Caesar salad. Our server was very attentive. I look forward to returning SOON!

Yelp
When you go into Sabatino's you're taken back in time with the decour and the vibes. Sweet old Italian men taking the best care of you. We split a few app - Calamari, which was perfectly cooked (rings only) with an amazing dipping marinara sauce. Clams Casino, which is a dish I've never had. They were delicious with many layers of flavors with a beautifully broiled crispy top. Also the caprese with mozzarella so fresh it melted in your mouth. For my entree I got the Shrimp Fra Diavolo. The shrimp were huge and perfectly cooked. The sauce was INCREDIBLE. I haven't been to Italy in 25 years, but I was taken back. It was simple but layered in flavor and texture. I am very excited for these leftovers because it was so much that even apps there was very little room left for anything.

Yelp
Food is not that good the chicken tasted like it was frozen and wasn't cooked that good.

Yelp
Iconic Little Italy. Three row houses connected to create a family restaurant that feeds everyone at a reasonable price. And they really feed you. Street parking has gotten easy with a few lots in the edges of Little Italy and street parking has been adequate. Reservations accepted and honored. Salads abound and can be covered in shrimp or done classic. Kids meals were perfect kid size although my daughter felt her pasta was all sauce. Ravioli was excellent. On,y meal that didn't seem supersized. Meat in ravioli was quality. Veal was thinly slices, breaded and with the right amount of cheese and sauce. Brownie dessert in kids meal gave the kids a full experience.

Yelp
Had to return to an old favorite. Service has not disappointed. My salad is delicious. Ordered Shrimp Renato and the flavor was amazing. Dessert was a tiramisu and Mr. Rick (2) was a joy to speak with.

Yelp
Very nice. We are out of town and have had a long day of site seeing. Walking the neighborhood we happened to pass by and give this nice looking place a try. Very friendly owners and staff! Very comfortable and quiet atmosphere. Staff were very accommodating and delightful. Sorry we couldn't eat everything due to our travels. Don't let not finishing all the wonderful food fool you. We thought it was delicious! With our future travels if we get back to Baltimore we will definitely come back!

Ryan B.

Yelp
They have the best pasta in town, especially when it comes to their fettuccine Alfredo. They're always so quick to prepare the food as well and so friendly. Sabatino's is awesome!

Nancy A.

Yelp
Food was excellent! Servings are huge - one will easily feed two people. Wait staff was friendly and helpful. All round positive experience.

Chris K.

Yelp
Definitely a place that mailed in in a long time ago. When the server gives you a list of things she wouldn't recommend, its a good sign theres some problems. Bread felt/tasted like it was from Subway. too fluffy. no taste/texture. when a 4-top all collectively "hates" their apps/entrees... its you. not us. Your sauce is too sweet, and nothing else has any flavor. Learn from this.... don't lean in against it because you have pride from 1952 that you can't/won't swallow. Stick with other little italy options. They are far better.

Yelp
We made a reservation here and were seated promptly. We opted to get the Special Appetizer, and it was well worth it. It was a great way to try many of their appetizers as the dish contains a bit of everything. For drinks we had the old fashioned and Negroni, and they do not skimp ooh the alcohol. The drinks were very good and very strong! For entrees, we got the eggplant parmigiana and chicken parmigiana. Both dishes came out very hot, and full of flavor. For dessert we had a lemon-like cake, and was more than enough to share. Highly recommend if you are in the area.

Yelp
Sabatino's is an intimate dining experience full of great Italian culture and food. The food was very hearty and authentic. I had the pan-fried shrimp parmigiana and the bookmaker's salad. Amazing! The staff was very kind and welcoming. My server was very knowledgeable of the menu. Made great recommendations and was very accommodating. The menu is pretty extensive so it was a little hard to decide exactly what I wanted, but I'm definitely going to go back and try some other options.

Yelp
A few things in Baltimore stand the test of time with amazing food and customer service and Sabatinos is one of those rare finds! I live several hours away, but my mother was craving a bookmaker salad so I swung in to grab a carryout order. Before I could even sit down, my order was ready with a thank you hon and here's a few extra things we thought you might need. Such TLC and it makes me miss my time in Baltimore. I will certainly make Sabatino's a stop every time in Baltimore. You made my day.

Rupesh P.

Yelp
Went to dinner with my team while on a business trip. We were all highly disappointed. It was the worst Italian we've ever had. The mussels, along with several other appetizers we ordered, were terrible. I ordered the Frutti di Mare and it was not very tasty. When I saw the lobster in the meal, I was done eating. It was half black and clearly very spoiled. I told the waiter and he didn't seem surprised nor did he seem to care. You couldn't pay me to ever step foot in this place again! Giving them one star is actually generous.
google avatar

Rob A.

Yelp
Some reviews give Sabatino's short shrift. BUT it's a classic in Little Italy. Baked rigatoni was pricey but rich and delicious. A piece of history worth going to.

k r.

Yelp
ordered b veal Parmesan and fruto de Mari. the former had too much cheese. the latter was overcooked. could not even eat the lobster
google avatar

Yelp
First and foremost, as far our large business group of 15 - service was excellent. Our server had attitude and hustled. As far as food, if I could give negative stars I would. For a family Italian restaurant, it sure lacks the family recipes and flavorful dishes that I have come to enjoy from Italian establishments. Just a big let down. Spaghetti and Meatballs - bland and boring. Shrimp Something, see picture. Breaded soggy shrimp in some kind of brown gravy, totally awful. Eggplant Parmigiana with Veal. Eggplant decide, veal was overcooked. Mussels, wine sauce was luke warm, lacked flavor and the mussels were rubbery. Steak - holy piece of leather, around 1/8" thick. No seasoning. Overall just an awful experience.

Yelp
We enjoyed Sabatino's and recommend it. When walking in, the vibe was homey and welcoming. It was like walking into somebody's home. We were seated right away, with Rick as our server. Everything came out very quickly once we ordered. We ordered calamari, clams casino and the caprese salad for appetizers. The calamari was our favorite. The caprese salad was also very good and the mozzarella melted in the mouth. We also enjoyed our bread basket that was piled high with soft and fluffy white bread. For our entrees, we ordered eggplant parm(not pictured), shrimp Fra diavolo, and the mussels in white wine sauce. The portion sizes were very generous. None of us could finish everything! My friend loved her eggplant parm and how the eggplant was thinly sliced and fried. The cheese was deliciously melty and there were no eggplant seeds because of the thin slices. The Fra diavolo had good flavor but was not too spicy. I loved my mussels, which were numerous and nice and fat. This was a lovely hole in the wall restaurant that had lots of old school charm. Rick was attentive and double checked to make sure everything was right for us. Sabatino's felt homey to us. Would recommend!

Yelp
Todays visit to Sabatinos made me legit sad! I have such a love for the place, but today the food was SHOCKINGLY BAD! Pasta with meat sauce. The sauce had NO...NADA...NO flavor! It was like a 10 yr old cooked pasta and threw some basic, watered down Ragu sauce on it. (Ragu mayve had more flavor actually) I couldn't believe it! Meatballs were like unflavored meat. I just saw that multiple reviews are reporting the same thing. My wife's pasta was just as disappointing and we decided that we would no longer go there for pasta and only a Bookmaker on occasion . I sincerely hope the management does not let the restaurant go like this. We took the remainder of the food home but it's going in the trash because it is awful. Paid 75$ for the experience to boot.

Yelp
Came here for a random Thursday date night. Great quiet atmosphere and good service. Drinks were good and food was good as well. Would come back.

Yelp
Ok, so I may be a bit biased as this restaurant was named for an uncle but you can't beat the 40's ambiance, complete with what looks like original mirrors and decor. Couple that with excellent service, fantastic array of good italian food; bookmaker salad, shrimp renato, lasagna, fresh fragrant bread and assortment of wine including a flavorful house chianti and you have a wonderful quiet dining experience. A must in little Italy every time we visit Baltimore!!!

Larry H.

Yelp
Superb old style Italian food. Literally, the best Garlic bread in the world. Love this spot in Little Italy!!
google avatar

Yelp
Classic Italian restaurant with very warm and comfortable service. Lots of items to choose from. Making it very hard to make a decision. I ended up ordering the Shrimp Fra Diavolo. The shrimp was cooked very well and had lots of great flavor. Large portions. The service was very good. The dining room had a very comfortable feel to it.

Phil G.

Yelp
Service was great. Pasta was cooked well. Unfortunately the food was bland and flavorless.

Yelp
This is one of my family traditions to go to Sabatinos for a special occasion! Love this place and the memories!

Yelp
went during lunch and got the lunch special which i thought was a good deal fried calamari (9/10) penne with vodka sauce (9/10) super nice service and good ambiance

Yelp
Fabulous service. Best gnocchi ever (my go to at every Italian restaurant I've been to), get it baked! Loved the clams casino, garlic bread and shrimp Parmesan too.

I hadn't been here since my senior prom, and that was a long time ago. This place looks exactly the same. The service was great. The food was very good!

Yelp
My wife and I had an enjoyable meal here on Valentines' Day. Making our reservation well in advance we had no problems arriving at our appointed time and being seated even with folks waiting in the halls and outside. We were seated in an alcove of eight tables just past the bar on the main floor. The room was quite loud though with every table in use. I think they missed an opportunity by not placing a fresh flower or even just a candle on the table. Their menu has all the fan favorites including my go to dish chicken parm. My wife ordered fettuccine with chicken in a blush sauce. We also split a garden salad and ordered garlic bread in addition to the fresh bread brought to the table. They had a sale price on a bottle of Chianti which we opted for. Their wine list was decent was excellent prices at most under $40. Our garden salad showed up quickly and was large enough to easily split. It came with a homemade Parmesan cheese dressing with a slight grittiness to it but otherwise delicious. I think you can buy a mason jar of it to take home with you if you love it. The highlight of our meal was actually the garlic bread. It was wonderfully toasted with lots of garlic and salt. Maybe too much salt but delicious. My chicken parm was good and a large portion that I couldn't finish. My wife's dish was fine but not particularly memorable. Her portion was huge as well. Service started strong but soon turned to neglect. I could never get a water refill and we sat with dirty plates for a while after finishing. I know it was probably their busiest night of the year but perhaps consider getting even more hands to help. Overall our meal was pleasant and considering the extras we ordered including a bottle of wine we got out of there with a very reasonable bill.

Yelp
Terrific lunch. The "Bookmaker Salad" was a great appetizer for two people and the Chicken Lynn ("white" w/ white wine sauce, mushrooms, peppers, and onions was delicious, and very filling. Service was very nice and we definitely felt unhurried, which was very nice.

Yelp
First off staff was amazing! We went to dinner around 7:30 and the place was almost empty which was a bit concerning. I got the penne with vodka sauce and grilled chicken which was good but lacked flavor so it just seemed kind of basic. My fiancé got the baked gnocchi and garden salad which he enjoyed. We both got glasses of wine which came in really small glasses for a $10 glass of wine- it seemed like a 4 oz pour. However our biggest issue was that the entire meal we were harassed by fruit flies and it seemed like the table that came in behind us was too. None of the restaurant staff seemed to notice or be bothered by it. We rushed to get out of there as soon as possible which really made the lasting impression.
