Sabiib Somali Restaurant - Harringay

The staff was very accomodating with adjusting my booking via emails. The food was delicious and cooked well. Lamb and chicken was seasoned perfectly and so tender. Loved the rice too! The sauce pots were great, green sauce is spicy but so delicious. And complimentary banana goes well with the food of course. What stuck out to me the most was how well our allergies were taken care of. I appreciate the gentleman that took it very seriously and had food seperated and personally brought the dishes over. Ill definitely be visiting again to try more dishes inshaAllah

Great introduction to Somalian food. First off, there was complimentary soup which was very tasty. We got two starters and a main to share, along with a side of pasta. The chicken mango salad was okay, but the sambus and hannid lamb were delicious. The bone slid right out of the lamb. The somali chai was creamy and well spiced, but a little too sweet for my liking. The service was very friendly. I would come back!

Great food and service. It was our first Somali restaurant ever and we were very impressed with the hospitality, amount of food that was brought and the space in the restaurant. The two of us were seated in a very spacious booth and it was a blessing - it had enough space to put all our things and plates and it didn't feel crammed like many other places in London. We got a nice vegetable soup as a compliment and it was a perfect dish to ignite the appetite. We ordered a platter for two which had a salad and flatbread on the side, plenty of meat (lamb and chicken), rice and pasta and some vegetables. It was definitely more of a portion for 4 so we took some away and finished it the next day. They didn't put the service charge on the bill, but the experience was so nice, we were surprised they don't do it. It's a bit remote from the city centre but was worth a ride.

Green Lanes is incredibly fortunate to have Sabiib. My family and friends absolutely adore this place! The food is not only amazing but also offers excellent value—we always leave completely satisfied and full. The interior is consistently clean and beautifully presented. I've visited several times, and the service has always been outstanding. A special shout out to Zamzam, who took care of my family and me during our recent visit for breakfast. Her service was exceptional; she was incredibly polite and helpful. Thank you so much, Zamzam! Sabiib has quickly become my favorite spot, a must-visit whenever I'm back in Green Lanes. I highly recommend the platter for two to experience a variety of their delicious offerings. The Haniid (slow-cooked lamb shoulder) is so tender it literally falls off the bone! I always order their Shaah (spiced chai) and mango lassi. Plus, their breakfast options are delicious, and they serve complimentary Maraq soup until 4pm daily. If you’re curious about Somali cuisine, it is very much worth the visit! I’m still working my way through their whole menu, but everything I've tried so far has been delightful. I've heard great things about their timir date cake, which is definitely on my list for my next visit!

Really loved this place: the food was very good, the atmosphere and the decor was extremely pleasent to be in. There are no music playing in the background which makes it adult and family friendly. If you prefer a private booth, they have a few of those too but I'd prehaps suggest reserving in advance. The restaurant also has an added bonus of a musallah and a wudu area, which I found to have been very clean and well maintained. Special thanks to the two young sisters: Samira and Sabrina for their high level waiting and customer service. Would I come back here again? Of course I would. Would I recommend friends and family? In a heartbeat. May Allah bless this place and all the people working there.

4th Somali restaurant I’ve been to in London and probably ranks lowest. Got the platter for 2 which includes Lamb shoulder - soft and tender. Could do with slightly more seasoning or marination but best part of the meal. Chicken steaks - fairly standard, I like the homemade style cooking. Pasta - too basic, no creaminess or sauce. Has a abit of tomato sauce but very bland. I’ve had great Somali pasta at other places Rice - this had 0 taste, they just make it fragrant with cardamom and cloves. No or little stock used, so the rice tasted of nothing, it was very disappointing. RED ONIONS in the rice are delicious though. The platter for 2 is good value for money, it easily feeds 3 but the rice and pasta was very disappointing. Sad to say I could not recommend sabiib

We had an amazing experience at Sabib Restaurant. A special shoutout to Samira I she was absolutely amazing at her job. She made us feel so welcome from the moment we arrived and made sure we had everything we needed throughout our visit. She was genuinely such a sweet person to talk to, which made the experience even better. The owners have truly done an incredible job with this restaurant. The decor, the atmosphere, and the overall vibe are honestly like no other we’ve experienced. There is a real sense of barakah in the place (you can feel it) especially knowing that everything is run in a fully halal and wholesome way. The food is 5 stars with absolutely nothing to fault. Everything was outstanding, from the starters to the mains, the desserts, and even the somali chai all top quality. We will definitely be coming back and would 100% recommend this restaurant to everyone.

I’ve heard so much about Sabiib from many people, including Muslim father friends from our local masjid who came here for breakfast and absolutely loved it. My family and I had been planning a visit for a while, and we finally got the chance on Christmas Day. Knowing most places would be closed, we were genuinely grateful Sabib was open — it really made our day. We don’t live far, which was a bonus. Booking online was incredibly easy — literally a few clicks. We booked for 7pm, which was perfect. Anyone familiar with Green Lanes knows parking can be tricky, but being Christmas Day, parking was free and we found a spot just a two-minute walk away on a side road. From the outside, the restaurant already feels warm and welcoming. Inside, it’s spacious with two main areas, and the ambience and decor instantly impressed us. First impressions were spot on. One thing that really matters to us is choosing places that do not sell alcohol or pork. Many places say they serve halal food but still sell alcohol or have a bar, which we’re not comfortable with. Sabib is completely alcohol-free and pork-free, which made us feel at ease straight away. The menu isn’t huge, but it’s well thought out — enough choice without being overwhelming. I love Somali food, so we decided on a platter for the four of us. We debated between the £45 and £60 platters and went for the £60. Portions were extremely generous, and we still couldn’t finish it. Service was prompt, warm, and relaxed throughout. The restaurant was busy but in a good way — lively without being chaotic. We ordered hummus with meat and a large meat-filled samosa. Before anything arrived, we were served paratha — honestly some of the best I’ve ever had: light, fluffy, and thin. Alongside it came the famous green sauce, a sweet red sauce, and a really fresh salad. The samosa disappeared quickly. The hummus was great too, though the meat was slightly firm for me personally due to sensitive teeth. The main platter arrived soon after — a huge tray layered with rice and noodles, topped with a large piece of meat that was incredibly tender and came straight off the bone. My daughter loved the spaghetti, and the green sauce was essential throughout. I really appreciated the banana served with the meal — something many places don’t always do. I love banana with Somali food.. We ate until we were completely full and still had food left over, so if you’re not big eaters, be mindful when ordering the larger platter. My wife and daughter also had mango lassi and said it was amazing. The service truly stood out. It’s been a long time since I’ve experienced hospitality like this. Warm, genuine, and never forced — you really feel valued as a customer. A massive shout-out to Sabrine (hope I’ve spelled it right). Her service was exceptional — knowledgeable, friendly, and made us feel completely at ease. Management should know she’s a huge asset. To top it off, the door was opened for us when we were leaving — something I honestly can’t remember the last time happening anywhere. From start to finish, the experience was flawless. We even had to sit for a while after eating before heading back to the car. I’m genuinely grateful that Sabib exists. We enjoyed every minute of our visit. An outstanding experience from beginning to end. Alhamdulillah.
