"Situated on the slope of Mt Etna, Sabir takes its name from an old dialect once in use in the ports of the Mediterranean as a means of communication between sea merchants. The recipes created by chef Seby Sorbello demonstrate the same blend of influences, showcasing a fusion of flavours and aromas from the Ionic coast and sea, with a focus on seasonal ingredients and wild herbs from this volcanic region. Choose from a selection of tasting menus and à la carte options." - Michelin Inspector

Sabir Gourmanderie

"Colourful Mediterranean cuisine with the occasional creative twist, yet always based on local specialities. This attractive restaurant takes its name from an old dialect once in use in the ports of the Mediterranean – a sort of Esperanto for sea merchants. In summer, ask for one of the tables in the cool and romantic garden." - Michelin Inspector

Was so good we came back two nights in a row. Great service, food, and wine. Extremely popular locally. You must get the pistachio ice cream dessert

Great Sicilian gourmet experience. It was a journey throw the Sicilian flavours on a 9-course tasting menu. Endless. To remark, a superb service made by the staff and a real appreciation to Alessia that selected the ideal wine to match our dishes. Recommended to try, at least once.

Dining at Sabir was a degustation experience! From the little delicacies served between or meals to the exquisite main plates, it was for sure the best food we had in Italy. Perfect setting and service, wish there were more restaurants like this!

We thought to have booked a simple brasserie for us and the kids and arrived at this high-end place by surprise. The welcome was so nice even if they saw the kids that we decided to give it a try. It was an amazing evening with delicious food and Franciacorta for all of us. They definitely deserve a Michelin star if you ask us for the quality, mises en place, warm service. Also the chef, very knowledgeable in chocolate, came buy before and after the dinner which I always appreciate. Both inside as outside very nice. Have shared with my Italian colleagues to come here when they are around. Must be best place to eat around Etna. Thanks a lot for the experience.

Great food, cozy ambiance, but not so great service. First of all the seafood menu was outstanding. Michelin star worthy. But the service was one of the worst we experienced in Sicily. One of the waiters was very attentive and spoke English very well, whereas the others seemed rather cold and inattentive. I would not mind if they did not offer an English menu online and even in the restaurant. The sommelier was the worst. We ordered a wine pairing. She explained that for the 5 courses, she would prepare 3 different wines, one sparkling, one white and one rose wine. We did receive the sparkling and the white wine, but not the rose. Just after the main we asked her whether she forgot the rose. She told us it was supposed to be a dessert wine. In the middle of our dessert (a no go itself for such a restaurant) she poured us a normal rose - clearly not a dessert wine. After pointing out that this was not a dessert wine, she responded she likes to have the dish with that type of wine. After that conversation the waiters completely ignore us. Not asking for coffee or anything else. It’s sad to say that the bad service spoiled our entire experience

When you enter it feels like you have an appointment with the dentist. Other than that I had a blast and some of the dishes we’re very tasty. Loved the in between dishes. The people we’re very quiet and awkward though.

Michelin level restaurant without the star. The quality of the food is superb. Definitely worth a try
