The 3 Best Chilean Restaurants In Miami - Miami - The Infatuation

"This is one of the most well-known Chilean spots in Miami—and for good reason. The food here is great. We love their completo, the Chilean version of a hotdog that’s smothered with housemade mayonnaise, avocado, and served on fluffy bread that outshines the hotdog itself. The pastel de choclo is also really good, and there are more delicious things on the menu, like sandwiches and empanadas. After you’re done eating, check out the little market in the back, where you can grab some wine or desserts like berlines and torta mil hojas." - Ryan Pfeffer

18 Iconic Hispanic Restaurants In Miami - Miami - The Infatuation

"Miami’s Chilean population may be on the smaller side (in the tens of thousands versus hundreds of thousands), but this spot has provided a consistent food homebase for the community for decades. And we’re glad they’re around as the menu provides a great introduction to this lesser known cuisine, which has a strong sandwich tradition. The most classic options are the chacarero, a steak and green beans sandwich with avocado and mayo; the lomito, a pork loin sandwich with avocado and mayo; and the barros luco, a steak sandwich with melted provolone. That avocado and mayo combo is a popular addition known as Italiano style. And while you’re here, make sure to try Chilean pisco, the national spirit of Chile. Don’t confuse it with Peruvian pisco. Differences in terroir, grape varietal, distillation, aging, and bottling processes make this a unique product all its own." - Mandy Baca

We were in Miami for a week and this was the best food we had while visiting. Everything tasted fresh and homemade, the atmosphere was calm and familiar, and the staff were so kind. I highly recommend coming to Sabores Chilenos, you will have a wonderful time!

Google
It has an original Latin flavor and is a lovely and comfy place to gather with family and friends. The pollo avocado is delicious 😋 a great place to try Chilean dishes. Jugo de chirimoya is an excellent choice for refreshing. The empanada chilena and the cakes are simply fantastic 😻

Google
Me and my wife with her mom had a great time eating here, the food was delicious and the wine was even better also they had delicacies from the country which to my wife and mother in law were surprise but happy to see these which reminded them of their country Chile. Overall we had a good time and plan on going back soon 😀😀😀

Google
The food here is amazing! Especially the beef empanadas. They are the best empanadas I’ve ever had. Also the staff and owners here are the best. They truly care about their customers. One of my favorite restaurants in Miami. I have not tried the desserts yet but will soon because they look delicious!

Google
My experience at Sabores Chilenos was spectacular. You have a unique gastronomy, an original flavor in your charquican and your comgrio caldillo is unique, the attention is spectacular, the staff is very friendly; Chilean flavors is definitely an Oh well of South American gastronomy.

Google
Feel like in family in Sabores Chilenos a family restaurant. Ask for Ítalo for service beyond the norm. Ask for Marcelo for the best wine that pairs to your taste.

Yelp
Great service, good soul food, prices reasonable and the ambiance Extremely welcoming to the point you don't want to leave. I strongly recommend their specials and their soups

Yelp
I really love this place, it's yummy. Empanadas and all their plates are delicious. A lovely neighborhood experience.

Yelp
My husband and I have gone here for lunch and for dinner. We really enjoyed the lunch sandwiches and soups, but we were a little disappointed with the dinner. The place is quaint and the service is good.

Yelp
Hidden jewel in Miami serving Chilean food, all delicious, but what I go out of my way for is their breakfast with Chilean amasado bread with ham, avocado otlr whatever you prefer so long as that delish bread is included. Must visit low key, beautiful spot, just 15 minutes from Miami airport.

Jason J.

Yelp
Probably one of the best restaurants I've been to in Miami. That bread and salsa is on point. The mechuga sandwich is always good also.

Diana L.

Yelp
The service was slow and attended to others but our table. Food overall was okay it wasn't all that nice or bad.

Yelp
We visited Sabores Chilenos on a Saturday evening. The restaurant is located in a nondescript shopping mall in Sweetwater Florida. The service was very slow at first but got a little better throughout our meal. The food was acceptable but not delicious. We ordered meat empanadas and they were cold in the center even after returning one of them, the second one was still quite cold. I don't think that we will be going back.

Yelp
Came back on Sunday. The food was absolutely delicious, the waiter was extremely helpful (we wanted some nomz from the bodega which wasn't available and he went out of his way to make it for us), & space was clean. Coming back for sure.

Yelp
We waited 15 minutes before being seated. The MALE waiter asked if we were Chilean, then asked what we wanted to eat. I asked for a menu please since we've never been there before. He looked annoyed and gave us a paper menu. We ordered and ate. Food was Ok. When we got the bill, he charged us more than stated on the menu. When asked, he said the prices I gave you were the "to go" prices. The eat in were higher. Not happy but Ok. We ordered food to go so we could try the different dishes as we didn't have a big appetite that day. When we went to eat it, we ended up throwing out most of the food, as it tasted VERY old!! Not happy about it. We checked the bill again to see how much money we basically threw away and noticed that he gave himself a 35% TIP. I called and asked him about it. He got EXTREMELY defensive and combative. I asked for a Manager and he said you deal with me since I helped you. What happened was they charge a 15% tip automatically. We gave him a 20% tip. I told him to please refund 15% of the tip (not the 20% we gave him) being everything that happened. HE DIDN'T. There's another Chilean restaurant called PAMELAS very close to this place. GO THERE!! We won't EVER go back to Sabores Chilenos because of our experience with this waiter. The name on the receipt is ITALO. I hope this helps you decide about going there.

Yelp
I have been to this restaurant over the years, i live 30 miles north so not too often. Today i can truly say was my last time. First we were asked to find our own table, none were blocked so we sat a bit away from other people there, table was dirty with old rice and sticky. We moved to another table same problem. We ordered a cafe con leche and toasted original chilean bread. What a joke, the waitress brought us a can of Nescafe, hot milk in a gkass measuring cup, seriously my wife and i were dumbfounded. Sorry to see this place go down the tube. Very disappointed.
google avatar

Yelp
Had to give this place 5*. The place is simple and casual. Nothing too pricey, too fancy, too trendy, too sophisticated... Just a hearty meal, good options, lots of wines, down-to-earth peeps, tasty/delicious dinner! Gringos welcome! Paulina was a sweet lady and as her English was the best, she was helpful, and patient with me. 1st time having Chilean food for me. I'm not talking Sea Bass. I'm talking like empanadas and pastel de choclo! See images. Like said, nothing too extraordinary, but for those wanting to try something different and never had authentic Chilean, just go there. Oh and grab a bottle of vino on the way out. They're all Chilean and relatively inexpensive!

Yelp
Sabores Chilenos has been at this location over 20 years. I remember the only other time I have been here, must have been over 15 years ago, and it still looks exactly the same! I came in with my younger sister and nephew after a very nice day at the zoo. The place is very small and tables are very cramped so we ended up sitting at a table right next to the bathroom. When I went to wash my hands I was actually a little confused because when you go in, you are literally in their stockroom! It was funny. But it was cool to see. We got the menu and ended up ordering typical Chilean dishes that cannot be gotten anywhere else and shared them. We are from Chile, so we know! We got Completo, which is a hot dog with tomato, mayo and avocado, we got a Churrasco sandwich, Chilean style churrascos are different than your typical churrasco, we got beef empanadas, Chilean Style, and a pastel de choclo (which is a corn tamal like thing, served on a clay bowl which has meat and chicken filling) all were good. Our waitress was nice, but she hardly came by. After that we went to the adjacent store, where you can buy items imported from Chile, pastries, bread, wine etc. There is this one pastry I really love which is called Berlin (don't know why) it is a deep fried dough ball, cut in half, filled with pastry cream, and dusted with powder sugar. It is so good! I think that is the only thing that I really do miss from Chile. I saw they had them and I was planning to buy a few to bring with me, I saw the girl tending the shop was our waitress. That explained why she was so scarse. There was a couple of people waiting in line (the shop is really tiny so even a couple of people make the place look about to burst) The next customer in line actually bought them all!! I was crushed, and so were many other people in line who were also waiting for them!!! I know the story is quite irrelevant, but I was so sad, that I had to include it in my review. As far as restaurants go, this is a pretty average place. The food was OK but not out of this world, actually the empanada it was the best thing. Prices though, are very reasonable. Service was friendly but the waitress was hardly ever there. I live really far, I would not make the drive down to Miami exclusively come to this restaurant, but if I'm in the area, it an OK place.

Yelp
Ines Adan was my server today. What a lovely, wonderful and beautiful person --inside and out. Most people are trash these days, but she has so much patience and makes guests feel very comfortable and at home. I highly recommend the food as the quality is a 10/10 ; will definitely be coming back with friends and family.

Carlo M.

Yelp
I had a pleasant surprise I had the congrio it was delicious well cooked and tasty the mashed potatoes were great as a appetizer we had the cheese empanada it was delicious the Chilean beer was excellent the place was very clean with a large Chilean wine selection the service was amazing always making sure you were happy the dessert milhojas was out of this world love it there was one incident which I did not like a man came out from the back and banged the door hard to call our server I found that to be demeaning it was like he was calling a dog they must correct that for the future that is not a way to call a person we must maintain our respect for other people at all times
google avatar

Nicky C.

Yelp
What a miserable experience. Terrible service and no respect for call ahead pick up orders. I called two days ahead to place an order and still had to wait two hours in line with everyone else that were placing their orders on the spot. When I asked for my order I was told that they had to give away half my order to the seated customers because they ran out of empanadas. The food is not worth the terrible service... Yo amo todo lo que es Chile pero nunca más volvería a Sabores Chilenos. Este lugar no merece representar a Chile.
google avatar

Sarah M.

Yelp
So delicious!! Que están la comida! Oh my goodness our experience from start to finish was outstanding and our girl Katie hooked us up with great recommendations from our food to our drink! I definitely would recommend this restaurant to anyone who loves Spanish cuisine or wants to try comida Chilena!
google avatar

Andres L.

Yelp
Very good Chilean food. Would recommend! They bring out fresh, warm, out of the oven "pan amasado" and it's super good!

google avatar

Yelp
Very good food, delicious empanadas and humitas. Wish there were more chilean restaurants like this one since I really love empanadas and sandwich de lomito.
google avatar

Ivan J.

Yelp
This place used to be much, much better. The service is horrible, the food is pricey and the quality isn't what you'd expect (especially at those prices). The place also looks pretty run-down when compared to similar restaurants at the same price range. This would be a decent place for very inexpensive Chilean comfort food if the prices and service were improved. That said, it's one of the few Chilean restaurants in South Florida so I'm forced to go if I have a craving...
google avatar

Christine V.

Yelp
Great food, Great service. I always go for the unique and delicious teas that they sell in the store. They sell things that you cant find in other places and have very tasty breads and wine. whenever I go they treat everyone like family. Would recommend this place to anyone looking for a great atmosphere and great food. Don't leave without getting dessert :)
google avatar

Gisell S.

Yelp
Sabores Chilenos is a very authentic hidden Chilean gem! The empanadas are absolutely amazing and the desserts are to die for. Very delicious plates & drinks as well!
google avatar

Claudia J.

Yelp
Best chicken soup ever!!! not greasy at all, full of flavor that it even wakes up the dead!!! I wish their soup portion were larger, the soup has so many goodies that it takes all the bowl!! Overall the food is good at this place. Staff is really nice, we always ask what is the most typical meal that a chilean person would have. Our neighbor had hot dogs, don't remember how they call them but they were huge!!! I think they had like sausage, ketchup, mayo and guacamole!!! yum yum, that would be my next order!
google avatar

Maritza P.

Yelp
Had the pastel de Choclo. Loved it. The dish does not look big but once you start eating it fill you up. My husband had Chupe de Marisco, he liked it but was to fishy for me. Order a side of potatoe salad just because I love potatoes salad. It was good but maybe too much food for me.
google avatar

Jordan N.

Yelp
Good Chilean street food. This place is popular with Chileans. Everything here is down to earth, with very unpretentious food. Also, there has been Chilean celebrity sightings here. But if you eat here, I wasn't impressed much with the dessert or the entrees. However, the empanadas and other things like that (things that require you to eat with your hand) were really good. I haven't tried the seafood here though but I should have since Chile is known for its seafood.
google avatar

Yelp
Pamela's is much better. The service is just OK. The food is minimal and pretty average. Lacks quality.
google avatar

Guy M.

Yelp
Overall: There are not many Chilean restaurants in Miami, but comparing Sabores Chilenos to other restaurants in its category, it's a great place to eat and try some different style dishes. The Food: Everything (from my experience) is super fresh and delicious. They have different style cuisine that leaves you just a bit curious about their other dishes. A popular appetizer is their asparagus soup, which is absolutely delicious! If you are here then you must try it! The Service: The staff is very friendly, and attentive; however they primarily speak Spanish, so if you come here be prepared to speak in Spanish - even though I am sure they understand English.

Carolyn W.

Yelp
We went here for the 2nd time in 2 weeks. Food is pretty good. The cheese empanadas are the best with the salsa. But the service is absolutely horrendous like ridiculous. No structure , forgetful, never check on us. Probably won't go back for a bit. At the end it was almost comical
google avatar

Shirley T.

Yelp
My experience at this restaurant was so bad!!! I went twice. The first time I was recommended by a friend and the service at Sabores Chilenos was good. Next time September 18,2020 I went there because the other restaurant Pamela's which is the one I always go had a waiting time of 2 hours for being sitting. Anyways, at first when I got to Sabores Chilenos the gentleman at the door was so nice, he directed us to the table. Problem start when we order our food, waitress took for ever on bringing us the drinks, specially a terremoto that a friend order. It took and hour to get our food. Waitress was charging me extra for some food. And included herself the tip Even when I did not want to give the 15% tip because of the bad service.I had to talk to the manager to hurry the order otherwise we will be waiting longer for our food.
google avatar

Monika K.

Yelp
This restaurant is hidden in a shopping center. It is very quaint and the best part of the decor is the wall of wine that is available for purchase. The fresh bread basket that they make in house and free salsa was absolutely delicious. I could not get enough of the salsa! I tried the beef baked empanada which was great but the cheese empanada with the sauce was unbelievable! My main course was the beef stew which was perfect for the chilly day. It had plenty of vegetables and was flavorful. My coworker had the pastel de choclo and it was not good. Please stay away from that dish! Other than that, I was impressed with the food and was surprised when the bill arrived. It was was cheaper than I expected. I will definitely be back!
google avatar

Fabian A.

Yelp
I've been coming to eat here since I was young lad. The place is located in Sweetwater and it's probably one the older chilean places that have been around Miami. One of the highlights to have are the following: - cheese or beef empanada (just one 1 beef empanada if you want to eat some other dish...they are big) - try any of the house specials (if you like to try something different, do it!). The food is homemade. - Barros Luco (includes beef and melted cheese) or a Chacarero (same as luco but will include tomatoes and green beans). - un completo (a chilean style hot dog) - add the homemade salsa ('pebre'...a slight kick) they give to everything and ask for a lot of it... The service can get really slow, so prepare to stay a bit longer than expected at times. However, the people are nice. Lastly, they do have a small market where you can buy bread (highly recommended) and empanadas to go. Also, check out the other delicious pastries they got! Overall, the food is Chilean and not exactly how it tastes like back in Chile, but it's not bad...its tasty...
google avatar

Jano B.

Yelp
Been there many times and It really has been always a GREAT experience... Always food left over for home thus the price is never and object. 5 of Us today there for lunch and it was Super, The Humitas, Arrollado, Porotos con Riendas, el Sandwich de Churrasco, El Completo y La Corvina Asada todo maravilloso. The Chilean Chardonnay cold and priced really low. The Pisco Sours to die for (My daughter's Rating). The Torta de Mil Hojas, Fantastic and also brought home a good chunk of it Si. maybe the place looks identical to 20 years ago, but we do not care, the Food Fare is what we go there for and not the looks.
google avatar

Carolina N.

Yelp
Local, trustworthy spot. Great empanadas, sandwiches, and entrees. There's a deli with artisanal breads and desserts too!
google avatar

Steph C.

Yelp
Awesome food, awesome staff. I'm not Chilean but I've been to Chile and the food here is very authentic!! Very homey environment and they have a shop next door which is a plus plus! Would recommend

Yelp
Today was the last time I visit this place - Sunday 20th of February 2022. Our server was rude - extremely short with us for absolute no reason. She up charged us for bread - which is ok - but In the manner in which she communicated the up charge blaming the owners while being rude - left so much to be desired. The waitress - who is been there a long time, as I have had her before on other visits To the restaurant- her service was just non sensical. All unprovoked. We asked kindly for glass of water - we get a warm glass of water with no ice. Unheard of. We asked for ice to this warm glass of water she gave us as opposed to a cold glass of water with you would normally get served at any restaurant - the waiter brings a bowl of ice. Pure non Sense. I then asked what was her problem - she blamed the owners for the bread short serve. I mentioned to her that paying for extra bread was not a problem and should not be a problem for anyone else upon her request, dining here at the restaurant. Just rude and unprovoked bad service. - customers - in good faith - do not deserve this type of treatment- and it made us feel really bad. This was the uncomfortable type of service you do not what to encounter at a restaurant - any type of restaurant - it was just shameful. This type of service is what will bring an enterprise down despite the quality of product. Extremely disappointing.

Joeh O.

Yelp
Where to start, I never had the privilege of eating Chilean food but thank God I had the chance to pop the cherry here. The food was amazing the atmosphere was family oriented which made sense since it is family owned. The owners daughter Kaytie is super amazing inside and outside the kitchen and her and her family bring the charm to this hidden gold mine of food With her Mom & Dad sharing coun amazing Stories from their Country. Nonetheless the food did its job of giving me the exact experience as if I were to order directly from Chile. Thank you guys for the Experience -Joeh Ornelas

Joanel O.

Yelp
I have been there about 3 times. The previous times loooong time ago, the restaurant was OK, but now is for never go there again. I ordered empanadas and they are so tiny, no comparison with other Chilean restaurants. I also bought a milhojas cake. What a disappointment. It looks like they add cornstarch or whatever to the dulce de leche and the cake taste horrible. I wonder why they had to close the location in Miami Beach. This place is going down.
google avatar

Kitty C.

Yelp
I call for questions they hung up in my face so rude I was looking for HotDocs completos

Nicole V.

Yelp
We arrived around 7 and the restaurant closes at 8. It didn't feel like we were welcomed and we had to sit ourselves down. We start placing our order and the waiter informs us that the kitchen is closing and it came off a bit unprofessional. We asked for sangria and the waiter said he wasn't sure if there was any but that he would go check. He never came back to update us on the sangria. We asked him again if they have or not and he tells us no. He never recommended us any wines or asked us which flavor we preferred so we got up and selected the wine on our own. The steak sandwiches we ordered barely came with any avocado and the meat was extremely squishy. You could barely bite into it. You can tell the kitchen rushed the food out and didn't take there time to preparing it. We will not be coming back here. A huge disappointment with there customer service and food.

Aileen S.

Yelp
Absolutely HORRIBLE customer service and unsanitary environment. They have lost a customer of over 20 years! Today we went to pick up an order that had been placed on Tuesday and confirmed yesterday (Friday) and had totaled to $250.00. When we arrived the girl at the register reviewed our order and said " we sold parts of your order so we have to offer you something else." She was absolutely arrogant and unapologetic about parts of the order being sold and dismissed us by repeating "I can offer you something else, but what some of what you ordered was sold." At this point 15 minutes have gone by and the room In which we were being helped in is small and had over 9 people which did NOT give the 6ft social distancing that is required by the CDC. The girl at the register was also not wearing gloves while handling food. The girl at the register proceeded to say we are going to make some bread and to give them 20 minutes. We then went outside and after 20 minutes went inside to get our bread the girl replied "we did not make it and it's not available" obviously upset I demanded they rectify the situation as we had not only driven 1 hour, spent almost $300.00 and had to endure unsafe environments as the small room was overcrowded, but I was treated like trash! I Will be taking to the owner and also calling the Health Department to advise that this location is not following safety guidelines nor social distancing.

Yelp
I love this restaurant. The food is great and their bread is always so fresh and yummy!

Yelp
Amazing homemade meals in my pleasant plaza. Lots of wines to choose from and delicious pisco sour!

Yelp
Upon walking into Sabores Chilenos, we were greeted by many eyes, locked on ours. Uh oh, what did we walk into? Well, those eyes quickly returned to their own meals and we were greeted by a very attentive and joyful host. Honestly, everything about this place was so, so, so good. I had never visited a Chilean restaurant and I was very pleasantly surprised. We went with the empanada de pollo (chicken empanada) and empanada de marisco (seafood empanada) to start. Both of them were baked and delicious, full of flavor and tasted very fresh. Add their tomato/cilantro/hot sauce on it and it really rounds out all of the flavors. A+ We skipped the Pisco and went with a nice Cab, don't regret that choice at all. Pisco is great, but the wine really brought a lot to the main dish: Steak Sandwiches. I know what you're thinking, but please get the steak sandwiches here. The bread is the same style as the one you are given when you sit down, and it comes with tomatoes, avocado, mayonnaise (freshly made themselves), steak (obviously), and you can always add more of the hot sauce! (please, do it). The prices are very good, and the food is even better. I am already craving their bread and sandwiches. I will be returning here very soon!

Yelp
Basically this place has all Chile in one shopping center store! Lol So many different dishes, wines, entress, and half of the resturant is like a mini store with many Chilean things etc but, the food quality is alright. The Chilean empanadas aren't all so great! Still good but not Wow ! They do have some awesome breakfast with an awesome Chilean Tea! Hopefully next I go it's better.
google avatar

Elena F.

Yelp
Not bad little place - can beat the wine prices! Bought a $12.99 bottle of carmenere reserve !
google avatar

Johana F.

Yelp
Becareful what you order because it might be expired. The empanadas tasted funny and Mazamorra was vinagre. This place isn't what it use to be. My mother is an awesome Chilean authentic cook. Just saying
google avatar

Rommel G.

Yelp
One type of empanada offered by server, paid, then he came to me saying dont have it anymore, so offered me to exchange it for another one, I accepted. My surprise? He tried to charge me more arguing this new empanada is more expensive. I reply him saying no my fault I was offer one type, paid for it and then being offer to get a replacement, and besides they want to charge me extra? You got to be kidding me. Horrible customer experience. Please be advise

Yelp
COVID Edition: Waiter isn't wearing mask up to her nose and goes right to your face when picking up plates....
