Our very first visit last night for dinner. The Chilean and Peruvian food was very tasty and satisfying. Very casual place, order your food at the counter and they bring it to your table.

There was far too much cheese in the omelet, once I removed 3/4 of the cheese it was wonderful. A lot of my potatoes were under cooked, but the ones that weren't were delicious. Loved the mango drink. Sadly they don't carry tabasco or tapatio, but the sauce they serve with almost every dish is very yummy just not spicy. It was very frustrating that the gal working the register (where you place your order) didn't speak or understand English very well, so one of the line cooks had to keep coming over to the register to answer questions and explain things to her in Spanish. The restaurant is spacious and clean, and I really like the outside seating

Google
Very good food. Nice atmosphere and customer service as well. Definitely try their empanadas. The prices are a bit high for a casual place that doesn't use waiters, but the food is worth it. Expect to pay $10-15 per person.

Walking by it, it always seemed closed. Turns out that they are only open for dinner on Thursday and Friday. So now that i visited I'll be coming back. Staff was very helpful in understanding the south american menu. Whilst the place is not a sit down place with menus, there are tables and the atmosphere is pleasant enough. Best part was that the food was delicious!!

Google
Latin American casual dining at it's finest. I love that the chef-owner (don't know her name) is about as friendly and welcoming as they come. Parking on the street just outside of the restaurant is super easy and free, which is a delightful change from the norm in Walnut Creek. From empanadas, pollo asado, pescado frito, lomo saltado; everything is delicious here, and portion sizes are quite generous. Expect to pay about $15-$20 per person for dinner, and $10-15 for lunch. Love the interior decor - kind of a hybrid of traditional Latin American pieces with a modern vibe, and we've never had to wait for seating. There's also pleasant outdoor patio seating for al fresco dining. Please come and support this delightful restaurant. Honestly, they deserve to have a line out the door.

Google
Delicious food from South America. You have to try. Fried fish is served with rice and salad. It is my favorite, empanadas and alfajores too.

Google
Good food. Very friendly stuff. Ceviche is a little bit spicy. Comparing to other Peruvian restaurants in the Bay Area, this place is pretty good

Google
My husband and I had the most delicious empanadas when we were in Patagonia. We had some killer empanadas in Boulder. And now, we found some in our own town of Lafayette. The chicken was better than the veggie. The veggie just needed some more oven time.?When you order, best to take home and heat up. They did not come with a chimichurri sauce but should!

Yelp
We wanted to get empanadas for the World Cup final to root on Messi and Argentina but didn't want to go into Berkeley or SF. I did a quick search for a local place to get legit empanadas and saw Sabores del Sur. Wow! They were awesome. I ordered from my phone on Saturday morning by 9:30am and scheduled a pick up for 1pm later that morning. The site sent three updates letting me know the status of my order and everything was ready for me early. Since the World Cup finals match was the next morning I was a little worried if the empanadas would hold up or if they would taste stale. I put them in the oven at 225° for 45 minutes to slowly bring them back to temperature and it worked. They were amazing. We literally ordered one or two of every single empanada offering on the menu and they were all great. The vegetarians in the house preferred the simple cheese empanada to the veggie one with mushrooms but there were no leftovers! My favorite with the steak! We also ordered their Alfajores specialty cookies and they were amazing! Give them a chance if you want delicious freshly made South American food right here in Lafayette! Thank me later!

Yelp
Not a sitdown restaurant like former location but rather a commercial kitchen that takes online orders. Not knowing this we went to location but woman was nice enough to prepare our to go order.

Yelp
The La Cocina stand for May 2023 is this low-key vendor offering South American treats. The lady were kind and cheerful, like talking to your aunt, in explaining what they had for sale. After studying the menu, I decided to try to items which I brought home. I snacked on the alfajores (https://www.yelp.com/user_local_photos?select=b9WHsVqYu9RCUOOZAzBosw&userid=saJuyv784apZzH--psHZ3Q) which I later learned was mentioned by several other reviewers. This lived up to the complimentary remarks as it was a good mix of buttery yet not overly rich and definitely not dry. The filling paired really well, the sweetness was perfect. A few days later, I reheated the veggie empanada (https://www.yelp.com/user_local_photos?select=Wi3yjjRMZvY_9b0wr16o5g&userid=saJuyv784apZzH--psHZ3Q) for breakfast; the auntie told me that it was filled with spinach and mushrooms (somebody say shroooms?!). Unlike the stand inside the Ferry Building, these are not as flaky and crispy, leaning towards the drier side. The empanada was generously filled (https://www.yelp.com/user_local_photos?select=M5RQmAnqhMYqDOBkYwyc1A&userid=saJuyv784apZzH--psHZ3Q). This is definitely a healthier version of empanada. I will look at the menu again this Saturday and likely get another alfajores (yes, it was that good) and try another flavor for the empanada. Stop by before June as they are only here for a few more Saturdays.

Yelp
The most delicious alfajores I've ever eaten! The shortbread is flaky without being crunchy or crispy, and the dulce de leche caramel is indulgently sweet. My friend found this place and brought me a box of their alfajores, and I'll be forever grateful. They operate out of a small shared kitchen so they only have limited hours and you must order ahead (same-day). It sounds more complicated than it is, but it's actually quite easy. Just order in the morning and pick up from their Lafayette Circle location between 11a-2p on Thursdays through Saturdays.

Yelp
Their food is amazing and the service is great. The best time to visit there is during the Chilean Independence Day in September which falls between the 18th-20th. They have had presentations and other fun activities going on. It is a lot of fun whether or not you visit in September.

Yelp
For 10 years I had been consuming this alfajores cookies. Since I first discovered them in whole Foods oakland. I promoted them and loved them. Then I made an order and wasn't able to pick it up at the time I had place 1 pm. I call several times no answer. I wanted to see if they could just leave my order outside and no answer. I got there at 2:05 and everything was closed. Didn't even get a call or anything from them I send them an email and receive no answer then finally I went back and they told me that I had compete lost my order with no chance or order or refund. I try speaking to the owner and she was really rude. I didn't even want the whole order I had place I just wanted them cookies. I had order a whole order of large alfajores cookies and two empanadas. She said she wasn't going to loose money. I just don't understand why she would not answer her phone. It could all have been resolve with a simple phone call.

Yelp
The best empanadas this side of Argentina and Chile - they are baked not fried so much healthier for you.. my favorite is the chicken, they are twice the size of other empanadas I have had at other locations.... lets support this great empanada maker. my friend and I only will go here. place your order and go pick it up on one of the three days they are open.
