I have flown in and out of some of the largest airports in the world, and some of the smallest in the world, and there's a lot to be said for the Sacramento International Airport.
When they say there's no place like home, it's definitely in reference to this airport. It's incredibly well organized from the moment you enter the airport street and you have to decide between building A or building B. It's that simple. The airline names are posted, and there are adjacent parking structures for each of the buildings, that offer short term or long-term parking, depending on your needs. Yes, it can be costly, but not as expensive as some of the other parking garages at other airports.
As you make your way through TSA, the airport is kept very clean, and the biggest highlight is that there are plenty of restaurants and other services that are open from early in the morning until into the evening. This is not a common practice at all airports , even within California.
You won't feel lost, and you won't hear muffled voices over the loudspeaker. Again, this is a very well organized airport. You'll easily be able to find your way to your gate, and you'll clearly hear the announcements so you won't miss your departure time.
While airline staff works at their respective gates, my interaction with various airlines has always been super positive, and I have found that the customer service has been consistent across the board.
We have a great airport that we can be proud of!
