A true farmers market. No food trucks. It's under the fwy and in the shade. Can be a little dark and breezy. Get there early as parking fills up quickly. Great selection of vegetables and fruit. Some bakery stands. On fish vendor.

Emily Wong

Google
It's the most amazing farmer's market with such a great spread of fresh produce and fruit. Also love that there are so many herbs and a vendor that sold meat products in portable refrigerators. Prices are insanely low and the produce quality is amazing

Google
Best farmers market in greater Sac. I drive down from Cameron Park every week. The star is the R Farm nursery located closest to the overpass’ parking lot. NO WHERE will you find a better selection of pepper plants. The kind proprietor grows all of the Top 20 hottest peppers and we’ve been buying from him for years. His soil is a cut above, and you’ll see it in your pepper output. Yes - he’s got Carolina Reaper. Very cool!

Google
Always a great place to meet the farmers and know where your food comes from. There are multiple different Farmers with all kinds of options of what you'll need everything from eggs and meat to bread and all the fruits and vegetables you can imagine. Even fresh cut flowers service animals okay no pets allowed. No smoking under the freeway during the time of the market it's just rude. If you get CalFresh you can go to the market manager's booth and double your money up to 1 5. Which means if you spend 15 you get 30

Google
This farmers market is under the over pass, no direct sun light. Lot's of fruit/produce vendors to choose from, egg vendors, flowers, fresh baked bread and there's a meat/cheese vendors too. This market gets busy early so I recommend getting there between 7:45am-8am. Parking is good, there is a large lot but it fills up so again closer to 8am is a good idea. Check out the Beals fruit stand for great organic stone fruit! A little plug for them because they are so nice and have great quality fruit!

Google
My girlfriends and I decided to check out this farmer's market today and we had a great time! It's just fun to walk around and see what different vendors have to offer. I am definitely going to be stopping by as many times as I can when I'm in the area.

Google
One of the best Farmers Markets in Sacramento, open year around, located under freeway so it's protected from rains in winter and heat in summer, hundreds of vendors, tons of fresh healthy food from farms to your table....

Dan Lewis

Google
Been going there for decades. We now drive 4.5 hours each way three times a year for stone fruit from Ferrari Farms. Our max load in our Suburban was 660 lb of peaches and nectarines!

Yelp
Sunday Farmers' Market has a very different vibe than the larger, Midtown one, and I can definitely appreciate the more laid back feel. Sunday Farmers' Market is located under the Highway 50 overpass, and I was pleasantly surprised to see that they have designated parking! There's a fair amount of vendors selling everything from fresh fruits and vegetables to flowers and even some refrigerated/ freezer meats and cheeses. I like the selection and the option to visit the farmers' market on Sunday morning. There's no vendors offering home goods or hot foods, so the crowd is definitely more interested in grocery shopping. It's less crowded and the overpass offers nice shade. Vendors are friendly, and I picked up some fresh cheese, spinach, apricots, and cherries. All delicious! I'd highly recommend visiting to meet your grocery needs.

Yelp
Great assortment of vendors! There is something for everyone here~ Seasonal vegetables and fruit, local honey, flowers, plants, breads, pastries, meats, local eggs, olive oil and nuts! I never get excited over cauliflower but seriously the most beautiful cauliflowers make the trip so worth it! Located under the freeway which would seem sketchy but seriously the best location as it's hidden from the elements. Parking is ample and easily accessible. Different vendors take different forms of payment but make sure to bring some cash for the cash only vendors. Recommend 100%

Yelp
Love love love these darn danishes from the bakery from Berkeley. And.... Love love love the sunflower sprouts. And.... The mountain grown stand has the most amazing fruit - year round but right now peaches and pluots galore. And ask if you can sample! Try something new! Soooo good! Lastly there is a vendor close to the parking lot that has the most beautiful heirloom tomatoes and gorgeous carrots. Be patient with parking and getting there. Also - No dogs

Yelp
This is the former "under the freeway" Sunday market. Although large and with a wide variety of cheaper produce, this market isn't nearly as diverse or fun as the Saturday farmers market in mid town (minimal food vendors, no live entertainment and few non produce vendors). It's worth going for the cheap produce but that's about all you'll get here
google avatar

Yelp
So glad the Market hasn't relocated yet, absolutely love having one close to home. Large selection of vendors. Do a lap first and take note of prices, you can find some really great deals. Many farmer's discount items at closing time. You can buy herb, flower and veggie starts to grow your own. Fresh cut flowers, micro-greens, cheese, fresh meat, produce, nuts, local honey... the options are endless. Only downside is there are no ready-made food vendors (i.e. food truck). I definitely suggest eating a big meal before you come to shop.

Yelp
This is my favorite farmers market ever. Produce and stands rotate occasionally but there are usually the same vendors there. Must try: - apple cider from that one apple stand on the south end of the market. - Upper Crust Bakery's pastries (I get myself out of bed on the weekends just to grab a croissant now) - Melon sprouts in your smoothie! (just got them today from one of the awesome sprout guys) I am a student who uses snap/ebt and most sellers will take it, some of them don't but will try to accommodate you still. They do a market match thing where if you withdraw $15 worth of your ebt balance, they'll give you an extra $15 to spend on produce, so if you're on the program, this can be cheaper (and healthier) than getting produce at the grocery store.

Yelp
We have never actually gone to this farmers market under the freeway before so we stopped by yesterday. It's definitely the biggest one we have been to in the area, but I'd say about 90% of the vendors are for produce. I can't knock the Yelp rating for that, because that's what a true farmers market is, right?! But if you're looking for a market that also has local vendors for snacks, pastries, clothing, and handmade goods (think: Midtown Farmers Market), this is not the one for you. We ended up just trying a pastry from one of the few bakers there from Davis. I had a strawberry cream cheese croissant which was super yummy! I was also impressed that many of the vendors here were adjusting to current times and accepting payments via Venmo, making the entire transaction contactless! If all you are looking for is produce, then this market is perfect. There were a lot of people but we were able to find parking just one block away, and people are always coming and going so you're bound to get a pretty close parking spot.

Yelp
The Sunday Farmer's Market (aka the one under the freeway) has been on my to-do list for Sacramento since, well, I don't even know when because it's been that long! It's a trek from my neck of the woods, but it's definitely worth it. It's almost entirely food-oriented, so this is not the market for crafts or bath & body products. You can, however, find houseplants and flowers at this one. This farmer's market is large and diverse in the produce, with a handful of specialty vendors that I don't see at my usual one. Parking is easy and free and the layout is organized well. I definitely see myself coming back on occasion to check out the different seasonal produce.

Yelp
Wonderful market. Just the right size to have all you need and be an efficient stop. Really nice vendors and great fresh items.

Yelp
I can't believe the selection or should I say competition between the different vendors. I have been to different farmers markets all over the Bay, and I have to say that this particular farmer's market is quite huuuuuge, it's really nice! It's clean, spacious, organized and again, there is a lot of selection... how do you decide who you're going to buy from? Lol. Everything from fresh veggies, produce, fruits, plants, grass-fed beef, farm fresh eggs, fresh cut flowers....you name it, it's all here! Everything looked so delicious - I highly recommend making a grocery/shopping list because you will overbuy! Everyone was practicing social distancing, which is a plus. There's tons of parking surrounding the market, huge plus. It's a lively farmer's market that I would highly recommend to everyone. I can't wait to go back for my next visit, next Sunday! Buy local; Support local farmer's, cheers!

Yelp
I didn't revisit my original review but I'll say I'm still a fan. Don't arrive late or you'll miss out. A lot of variety but generally speaking, don't expect to find everything on your produce or grocery list. For instance, I often find yellow or red onions, not always white. Although if you do hit them up late, you might get lucky and score a good deal at one or more booths. Perhaps you might score 2 or 3 melons for $5. That's awesome. Or bags of the same produce item for a bargain price. Just because they have surplus, not because they're rejects. Good deals! BTW, since we are in nonsense times... July 12, 2020 middle of nonsense covid19 fears, this market is open. We all have to play the game of wear a face mask while everyone was up in each other's grills. Idiocracy.

Yelp
When u want it fresh u need to go under I-80 / U.S 50. Its like a whole different world under the freeway, flowers, fruits, nuts, veggies, breads, local honey and lots of more stuff. This place is great. When I was a kid I remember coming here with my parents. I remember there was live chickens for sale and also live fish too. The market seems to have gotten smaller and some vendors and a majority of the shoppers seem to be hipsters, SMH!!! But ehh who am I to judge? One thing that I disliked about my most recent visit here was that they had booths of political campaigns. Farmer markets are for shopping and having fun time, not for politics and such. Give that a rest or do it elsewhere. I had a great time even tho I was here at the end of December, I bet this place is better during summer when theres more fruits and veggies in season. There was plenty of free parking and the crowd wasn't bad, give this place a go, you might enjoy it.

Yelp
This farmer's market is not like any other. It's HUGE! lol So much variety, so definitely look around before purchasing. They have flowers, plants, and lots of fresh produce! The flowers are such a good price that it reminded me of the prices and quality of the flower stands in Seattle. There is parking! Free parking! That's a plus. Also, free 2h parking is available on the street. Not too much pastries at this market, but do you see the pastry photo? ITS HUGE! Looks so yum. Def a must go if you have free time Sunday AM.

Yelp

Yelp
- FREE PARKING ON SUNDAYS (WITH A SPACIOUS LOT) - Takes EBT/Calfresh - Open year round Just so many perks for this lovely little farmers market in downtown. It's more of a business/ grab what you need and go type of market, in contrast to the relaxing and family-friendly vibes I'm used to in Davis. However, this place has so much more vendors for all types of items you would want or need for cooking. Highlight: - Honey (not organic) - Flowers! Lots of them! Pick your own & build a bouquet or buy a pre-made bouquet - Lots of potted plants: micro greens, peppers, tomatoes, herbs - Succulents - Fish - Fresh Asian veggies -Walnuts Tip: lots of the vendors sell the same veggies so make a loop and look for the better deal!

Yelp
This year-round Sunday Farmer's Market has a fantastic variety of vendors! Located beneath the I-80 Freeway between W St and X St, 7th St and 8th St, you will find fruits, vegetables, cut flowers, honey, eggs, organic meats, fish, oysters, cheeses, olive oil, bread, baked goods, potted plants, and so forth! Prices aren't necessarily cheaper than what you find at your nearby grocery stores but I love coming to the market for varieties of fruit that are hard to find elsewhere. I've been going to this Sunday Farmer's Market for years. A favorite vendor of mine is J&J Ramos. They always have ample samples of fruit at the entrance of their stand, their fruit tends to be sweeter compared to others, they're fast and friendly, plus they sell $3 bags of overripe fruit towards the end of the day! In the months of Aug-Oct, they carry white nectarines, plums, and pluots - which are among my favorite summer fruits. During my most recent visits, I took advantage of the very short season for figs! The mission and celeste figs from The Cloverleaf Farm were to-die-for. They're delicious when ripe on their own but they're sublime when grilled and drizzled with aged balsamic vinegar! There is ample parking underneath the freeway but it's much easier to get in and out if you can find parking on W St or a couple of blocks further away. The Sunday Farmer's Market is a great way to spend an hour getting some fresh air and fresh fruits and vegetables!

Yelp
This is the best farmers' market I've ever visited. You like the Thursday night farmer's market in San Luis Obispo? So do I. But this market is better. This market is not about selling you pizza or BBQ or other prepared or cooked foods. This market is about selling you, at incredible prices, the freshest of the fresh, vegetables, fruits, breads, honey, meats, seafood, cheeses, nuts, flowers, etc. This is a pure farmers' market. Lots of samples and they aren't stingy, either. There's amazing meat and seafood and live crawfish at one end, too. Yes, it's located underneath a freeway. It sounds a little weird, but it isn't. If anything, it protects you from the sun. Lots of free parking in lots and on the street all around. You can't beat that. If I lived in the area, I would be here every Sunday. Great quality, tons of choices, and terrific value. There are lots of great farmers' markets. This is one of the pure, great ones.

Yelp
*This market has a lot of different selections on many essential food items like vegetables, eggs, grass-fed meat. *Quality? Everything looked so fresh like it was picked that morning. *Pricing? Be sure to walk around and window shop before you commit. While a lot of the items are very similar, pricing can be different by a dollar or two. *Organization? It's a big circle/square layout and there are a few vendors in the center. My wife and I were able to walk around the entire market in les than 45 minutes. She likes to really examine everything she buys. *No Dogs, unfortunately tris market does not allow dogs - I have been to other markets and they do, just not this market. *Parking? There is plenty adjacent to the market, under the freeway or there is also street/metered parking walkable distance to the market. It's a safe area.

Yelp
This is a fun place to grab veggies, fruits and eggs. Veggies and fruits were reasonably priced, veggies and fruits ranged from $1-$6 a bundle/lb. I need to learn to pick my fruits better because the tray of strawberries I picked out were rotting the next day. They looked beautiful but the ones under were not great. The price of meat ranging from $12-$35/lb is low key crazy lol But wandering around, meeting people from different farms was great. Everyone's really nice. Lots of vendors to choose goods from.

Tim R.

Yelp
Bigger and better under the freeway. Parking not so great wish they would open a second venue at Arden fair
google avatar

Jess L.

Yelp
This farmers market is pretty epic! I wouldn't say I have seen killer prices, but it's still fun to walk up and down the aisles and find so many different types of produce and other local goods. Unlike the midtown farmers market, this one is much more produce-forward, and you'll find more vendors selling some of the same items if you want to compare prices. Besides mostly produce, I noticed some fish/meat, flower, nut, and honey vendors. If you come by during the tail end, there are also some vendors giving away pieces of produce or lowering prices. I wish there were more places to hang out and maybe get a snack, but the people watching is pretty fun, and you can tell many people visit the market as a weekly errand and pleasure.

Jill M.

Yelp
A little dark with the center filled in above, but tons of friendly farmers and their wares...from eggs and nuts to flowers and potted plants. @NeveBrothers @AysonNursery

Susan C.

Yelp
First time to this Farmer Market. Produce looks good and will be back. One of the baked goods vendors sold us a day old scone at full price. Guess not everything at the Farmers Market is fresh. Do better.
google avatar

Lillian H.

Yelp
I love this farmers' market! It's huge and there's rows and rows of vendors. There's everything from produce, plants, cheese, to seafood! There are multiple vendors selling the same thing which is nice because I like to stroll around and compare prices before I make my purchase. The cheaper stands tend to be in the middle or the sides away from the entrance. Prices: The prices here are very competitive with what you can find at the grocery store and they're all local! Some produce are a lot cheaper here too. Just look at my farmers' market haul last Sunday: Lettuce head: $1 Mint plant: $1 Bag of peaches: $5 Cauliflower: $2 Parking: There's street parking and there is also a parking lot next to the farmers' market. The parking lot is free during the hours of the farmers' market. Bring cash! Some vendors accept credit card but 90% is cash only. This Farmer's Market is located under a bridge which is great for those sunny or rainy days.
google avatar

Bonnie N.

Yelp
Today was my first time here and this farmers' market is huge! You can buy everything to make a meal here - there's rice, noodles, seafood, meat, lots of vegetables, olive oil, nuts, mushrooms, bread, pastries, coffee, lots of fruit... everything! Prices are reasonable here.. I would say it is comparable to the organic products in supermarkets, although some vendors here are actually cheaper than the market. I would recommend making a round through the market to compare prices, and then making your selection on the second round.. unless you've been here before and know which vendor you like. There is a large parking lot next to this farmers' market, but I would suggest finding parking one or two blocks away and walking to the market, since you'll likely be in a traffic jam if you enter the parking lot vicinity. I parked on 10th street and walked down and it wasn't bad at all. I came around 11am and towards the end of the market's closing time (12pm) a lot of vendors mark down their prices so they can try to sell out of their products. I found peaches and nectarines for $1/lb (originally $1.50), $1 lettuce heads (originally $1.50), and $4 for a flower bouquet (which was originally $5 haha). Some vendors take credit card, others are cash only. But to be safe, make sure to bring sufficient cash to fit your shopping needs! There is a bread, pastry, and coffee section on one part of the market so you can wake up, go to the market, eat breakfast there and do your grocery shopping! Maybe I can try that next time because this time I already ate breakfast. Overall, I'm a fan and I would definitely come back! I'll probably come back earlier because I saw people holding beautiful sunflowers and lilies, and by the time I got there, I feel like the prettier flower selection was sold out. P.S. I saw gigantic brussel sprouts at one vendor station. For an organic product, that must be some great soil! haha

Yelp
Love this farmers market!!!! Straight forward with great vendors that have amazing produce. One of my favorite farmers markets in the area. We go at least twice a month to replenish our fridge. The vendors are nice, some more personable than others. Some stands take debit. But of course it's mainly CASH only at the market. Great Sunday morning routine, outdoors in the mall parking lot, outside getting fresh air.
google avatar

Amy L.

Yelp
Wonderful market! Temporarily located at the Sears parking lot at Arden Fair mall while construction going on by regular location under the freeway. Still lots of vendors!
google avatar

Megan H.

Yelp
This is a Sunday morning ritual for me. I love going to the Farmers' Market for fresh produce! The locally grown veggies and fruits far surpass what you'll find at your neighborhood grocery store and for the same price or less! If you're making something that requires very specific, out-of-season produce, then you may be disappointed. I've learned a lot from the Farmers' Market, especially when it comes to seasonal fruits and veggies. Nothing beats the satisfaction of buying your produce straight from its source and using it to make your meal! That being said, the market has fresh meat, dairy, and baked goods as well! The bread is heavenly and you can grab a cup of coffee and/or pastry to munch on while you shop! Parking can be a bit tricky, but it's definitely doable. My advice is to avoid the parking lot. You can find street parking (time it so that you aren't fighting for spots with church-goers). Better yet, use a Jump Bike! :)

Yelp
I've been coming to this FM for years, but not since the pandemic. It's no longer there! Where did it go? Is it returning?

Yelp
Love this farmer's market ‍ I love the hustle and bustle of it all, there are TONS of vendors and the variety is awesome, for the size of the market. It's located underneath the W and there is endless parking spots, no matter what time of the day that you go. I've been coming here since I was a child and it has not changed. There's everything from fruits and veggies, to beef, pork, lamp, chicken, fish, and bison. There are fresh cut flowers, rooted herbs, rooted veggies and fruit. I come here specifically for the REAL strawberries. Real as in, not the kind you find at the grocery store, that are dyed red and picked too early, so when you cut them up they're still sour and white. I'm talking real deal, cut them up, red inside and sweet. You will also find local honey, fresh cheeses, nuts, herbs, fresh baked goods, coffee and pastries to eat while shopping, succulents and more. From 11:30a to 12p most of the vendors sell their produce for a $1, for each piece of produce, you will also find vendors selling bags for a couple dollars and sometimes $1 for a bag of produce. Love this place and I do a majority of my weekly shopping at this market.
google avatar

Tracy B.

Yelp
This placed was packed! So many delicious looking fruits and vegetables at all the various stands. Plenty of samples, which are always appreciated. It was cool seeing presidential campaigns present, and since the Democratic process is so important, I'm glad they came out to meet the people. There definitely could have been more vendors with coffee and breakfast options. A food truck with some sort of egg offerings would be wonderful. Also, both pastry vendors only had "room-temperature" options. On that cold November Sunday, a hot pastry would have been magical.

Yelp
4 stars because I never see any fresh meat. What's the world coming to when a man can't go to the local market and get a chicken's head chopped off right before his eyes? lol LOCATION: This farmer's market is called the Sunday Central Farmer's Market and is located at 8th and W st under highway business 80 which is the best part about it. No walking around in the blazing sun cooking before your food does. The light breeze is enough to keep you there all day. The parking lot has plenty of parking available and is easy to enter and exit. There are about 4 entrances to there parking lot. FOOD: There is quite the variety of produce out there. Apples, cactus, coffee, honey, olive oil, spinach, bread, pastries, eggs, wheat grass and so much more. However, I would have liked to have seen fresh meat out there. I don't want to do my shopping at 3 different places. The only protein other than vegetable sources like spinach was eggs, which I excited and upset about. PRICE: This is the reason I was upset about those eggs. 3 times the price of any eggs I had ever seen and I have seen them all. I eat eggs everyday. It's never a question of what's for breakfast. It's eggs and whatever else I decide to put with it. I have bought packs of 60 eggs that were less than the dozen I saw. Everything else out there was more than reasonably priced. Well worth coming to the farmer's market every Sunday. Spinach was $2 a bundle. Apples were a bit more expensive than trader joes, but you know how fresh these apples are. I'll pay a bit extra for that. EXPERIENCE: It's always a good time under the bridge. There is always live music. Someone playing the drums and another playing some wind instrument that I can't remember. Everyone attending is courteous for the most part. Some people have severe tunnel vision. I mean lady, I was literally talking to the farmer you're now standing in front of. Good thing he and I were much taller than she. Our conversation continued, but it was the principle of the matter. A simple excuse me would suffice. Anyway, I always leave the farmer's market with a great Snapchat story that has my entire audience abroad trying to come to Sacramento. I don't expect nothing less than the freshest food and the best farmer's markets in the farm to fork Capitol of America.

Yelp
One of the best things about living in Sac. This farmers market is legit! It's the real deal! REAL farmers. REAL fruits and veggies and meat and eggs and flowers and pastries and fish and fresh mushrooms and honey.... This isn't a "cutsie" arts and crafts type market, but real farmers, with real food! It's pretty cool bumping in some of the 'famous' local chefs, who also shop at the Farmers Market on Sunday-- Selland, Majka bakes, etc... It's fun to find your favorite vendors and then get to know them by name. We love the Asian stone fruit farmer on the left side, only there in the summer. I like the sweet lady that sells potatoes. She has the creamiest potatoes! Love that you're supporting local farmers. Prices are beyond reasonable. There's even a vendor who has things for $1. There's also an Asian herb place-- another favorite. So many great things! Come discover it for yourself! I believe it's open every Sunday, rain or shine! Ample free parking under the freeway. Bring cash-- lots of smaller amounts, if possible. Bring a few large bags (the IKEA blue bags are great!). Go early for best selection, as it gets picked over pretty fast (8 am - noon). Or, if you want bargains, go later, but there's a real risk of things being sold out. Enjoy!

Yelp
Sunday is for the fruit and veggies, and maybe a few plants. Want to literally do all of your produce and meat shopping outdoors? Want to support local farmers? Want to eat really fresh food? Then you've obviously come to the right place! Just look for the white topped tents and all the people carrying bags of green stuff! The Sunday Market has all varieties of fruits and veggies in season. From mushrooms to apples to kale to nuts to meats to favs beans. Need a purple cauliflower? How about avocados or a back of colored carrots? The Sunday Market has it! Sunday mornings I get to the market grab a coffee and a pastry. Shop for a few hours. And leave with a smile. Highly suggest this place. It makes shopping fun and enjoyable to mingle with the crowd and see all the colored foods. The possibilities!

Yelp
This is the Farmer's Market that dreams of made of! You can find a wide variety of produce and flowers here. Do be prepared to walk around quit a bit. A lot of the vendors do sell the same thing, so, you want to look around for the best prices! Also, don't forget to walk with a reusable bag or three. I promise you, you will not leave empty hand and will need something to carry everything in. You can park in the parking lot under the freeway, or at Southside park across the street (great for getting some steps in!) There's live music played, which makes it a nice adventure while shopping. You should come to this farmer's market at least once to explore and support local growers.

Yelp
Driving through the beautiful tree-lined streets of downtown Sacramento, we wondered, where are all the people? Here. Apparently all the people in Sacramento are here, at the Sunday Farmers' Market. Even though it is stuck in the noisy shade under the freeway, it is vast, crowded, cheerful, and thriving. We ended up with a handful of pastries (the pretzels were actually the best), some nice-looking artichokes and apples, and sampled enough strawberries to conclude that they just weren't in season yet -- no fault of the vendors. This isn't the kind of high-end farmers market you'll find in Palo Alto, Lincoln Park, Dupont Circle, or any similar real estate market where I've spent some time. It is large, cheap, and commercial, in the best of ways. It reminded me of a cross between San Francisco's Alemany Farmers' Market and some markets in Mexico City. In other words, it was great.

Yelp
If it isn't the MOAFMs (that's, Mother Of All Farmers' Markets), the Sunday Farmers' Market under the freeway at 8th & W streets has got to at least claim the title of Your Great-Aunt of All Farmers' Markets. Open 8 am - noon, every Sunday of the year, rain, shine, typhoon or paper cut, come on down and bring some of your favorite TJ's shopping bags to stuff full of good stuff grown up and down our beautifully bounteous Central Valley. Schlepping down the aisles, you'll find the freshest and best of what's in season. In winter, it might be cara-cara oranges, brussel sprouts on the stalk, or an unusual squash. Spring brings cherries, later the blueberries and strawberries, and moving into summer you'll have your pick of watermelons, corn, blackberry varieties like marionberry, olallieberry, tayberry and boysenberry. Peaches, nectarines, heirloom tomatoes by the truckload. Crayfish guy next to the fishmonger (check, most are frozen asian-farmed). Next to Little Fish Co. with the freshest halibut, salmon, cod, hot smoked too. Oysters (license doesn't allow tasting, bummer), locally produced pork, beef, chicken, it goes on and on. Pro tips: 1. Go early! Especially if you want the best selection. by 9 it's usually packed. 2. No dogs. It's way too crowded for the pooches. 3. Shop around prior to purchase - prices can vary by 50%. 4. Note that not all vendors are "Certified Organic." It's worth asking, if you don't see the emblem displayed, as some farmers just can't afford the extra expense of certification, but still produce organically. 5. Try something you've never tried before! you'd be amazed at what you'll discover. 6. Kids love the activity! Tots in strollers can be a challenge however.

Yelp
Great place to get some goods from locals farms. There are also plenty of parking spaces so don't fret about street parking at all! This is the farmers market to go to to actually get some shopping done. There aren't too many food venders at all, but plenty of beautiful flowers/bouquets to buy! Great place to go with the mums is say :)

Yelp
This one is nice, more expensive then the Chinese one down the street. This is great for one stop shopping. You can get fresh fish here and cheese. This market also sells lots of cut flowers, trees, and other potted items to put in your garden. They also have several strawberry sellers. They sell both organic and NOT organic. They also sell seconds when it comes to apples. They are still edible, but very blemished. Kale and mushrooms are also additions that aren't had in the Chinese market. This is a huge market that draws a huge crowd. We parked 3 blocks away, parking is tough, but not an issue for this crowd. This is not in conjunction with the antique fair, something I originally thought. This is a standalone weekly event under the freeway, sheltered from rain. They also have a brand new mural, just look up. It's very nice.

Yelp
Haven't been here this year and decided to grab some Rainer cherries. Of course I had to stumble across some other produce. The prices of the fruits and vegetables were very reasonable. It hasn't got all the vendors they usually have but it's early in the season. And oh the flowers. Wanted to buy them all. They're lovely and smell so good. Definitely got to hit this more often.

Yelp
This is one of the most popular Farmer's Market in Sac as it's open all year round, centrally located, and everyone seems to know of it or have been to it. It's a great place to go on a Sunday morning to get out and have fun, support local farmers and the community, and pick up some produce/snacks for the upcoming week. Pros: 1. The Sunday Farmer's Market is huge and spacious! 2. They are the largest and have the widest variety of items compared to any other farmer's market in Sac. Various cool things they sell in addition to the standard fruits and veggies - fish, honey, bee pollen, pistachios, coffee & pastries, olive oil, plants, fruit trees, orchid plants, beautiful bouquets of flowers, avocados, and eggs. 3. They are open all year round! Thank you! Because people need great produce even in the winter! Cons: 1. They are located underneath the freeway, which can be very noisy and feels dangerous. 2. Prices - somewhat expensive. In general, and especially for the specialty items, it's a bit pricey. But to be fair, I have seen more expensive produce at other farmer's markets (weekdays downtown) and there were a couple vendors that did sell produce at relatively lower prices. You might be able to score deal when you buy in bulk or sometimes when they are about to pack up and leave (Of course this is not a guarantee and subject to vendor's discretion.) 3. There is street parking, but it would be nice if they had a parking lot. Sometimes it's hard to find a close spot or parallel park with all the cars getting off the freeway and driving down the street. I haven't seen food trucks/restaurant vendors at the Sunday Farmer's Market as I've seen at many other farmer's market lately. Not really a pro or a con. Although this is a great place to go if you are looking for a Sunday morning activity, you'll likely still need to go to the grocery store, as the items purchased here are more supplemental to your weekly grocery needs.

Yelp
Arrived here at 9 am and it was already hard to find a parking spot! So come here as early as you can so you don't waste gas like I did going around and round trying to find a spot less than a mile away. On the plus side, I was finally able to find a spot 10 feet away from the entrance after circling around. SCORE. Bring your own bag for hauling goodies - I came prepared, but saw lots of others that were lugging 3 bags around each wrist. Save yourself wrist burn and bring either a large backpack or a larger recyclable bag that you can dump purchases into. What I saw on offer as of May - lots of cherries, navel oranges, mushrooms, fresh legumes and greens, nuts, flowers and plants and by the way.... NO DOGS NO DOGS NO DOGS NO DOGS NO DOGS.

Yelp
The BEST farmers market ever! There's a plant lady in the front and I love her. I've bought around 10 plants and they absolutely flourish in my apartment. There's also beautiful flower vendors, yummy honey, and the best fruits and vegetables from the Sacramento Valley. #shoplocal

Yelp
They got the best deals in town! Fresh, organic, and cheap produce can be found at the Sunday Farmers Market. Most people recommend to go early in the day, however I would suggest the opposite. The hour before close is when most of the shops rush to sell off all they got left. This means super price cuts and extreme bargains! There is always one stand to the far left corner in the back that has $1 goodie bags. They vary week to week, but they often have pretty good steals during markdown hour such as $1 for 3 heads of cabbages, 6 ears of corn, 5 red onions, 5 ripe tomatoes, 4 red bell peppers, and many more. It is always best to browse for the best deals before purchasing. Many cases where stands right next to each other would sell the same item for different prices. But hey, some farms produce better crops, eh? Do try the Strawberries from the first row tho, they are amazingly sweet! And only $10 for a half-flat!! Get your weekly fruits and veggies at the Sunday Farmers Market! The produce is cheaper and tastes better than the ones at your local supermarket :)

Yelp
Sureeeee under a freeway she says... It's got really good variety she said... parking is free on Sundays Mom was her last pitch for this Farmer's Market *wink wink. We made our way down early (they open at 8:00am) parked on the street as we had the Bro-Man truck YIKES! parking this thing is bit*&$!! Well I stocked up on Spring Hill Cheese which is my ultimate 'go-to' cheese, Bariani Olive Oil, Fresh breads and pastries OMG! I just about FELL OUT after I had a cream cheese danish... FELL OUT I TELL YOUUUUUUU!!! buttery flaky crust the cream cheese filling had a bit of lemon zest mmm hmmm bought some walnuts, heirloom tomatoes, fresh cherries (yesterday was the last day of their season apparently) I'm inclined to believe them as they ARE Farmers ya know. Goat cheese for our pretzel bagels, Corn, Capay Organic Strawberry Jams (not overly sweet), Lemon Curd from Glashoff Farms **Note it was a good thing that I didn't have any Grandmothers around or they would have been SLAPPED after the taste of that Lemon Curd!! Good Lawwwrrdd can I just scoop this into a pie crust and call it a DAY?!!! Lastly keep in mind that not all of the vendors at this Farmer's Market have 'four square' on their phones. So plan ahead and bring cash. I shall return! Respectfully Reviewed

Yelp
Where to start at this Farmer's Market?! We go here almost every Sunday to get local fruit and vegetables. Recently we've been getting a lot of strawberries and pluots. They're so sweet! Aside from fruits and vegetables, you can also get plants, seafood, meat, plants, and flowers to name a few. The attached bouquet was $10! On the other side of the entrance, there's a vendor that sells danishes that are next level! Highly recommend if you're free on Sunday morning! No dogs allowed.
