Saturday lunch with the family was phenomenal. The Kung Pao Pork Belly Burnt Ends are the best app I’ve had this year by far. The double smoked jalapeños takes jalapeño poppers to the next level, plus they are huge. The ribs are clean bite comp style; very well done. Brisket was awesome as were the brisket pinto beans and green chili mac n cheese. The setup is very family friendly, service is great, & the bbq is top notch. 100% worth the ride to Pocahontas.

I went for the first time for a book club meeting and was blown away! A friend recommended the brisket melt, green chili Mac n cheese, and Brussel sprouts. Everything was amazing! Already thinking when I can bring hubby here for a date night.

Sacred Ground BBQ is hands down the best BBQ in Mississippi! You absolutely have to try everything, but my personal favorites are the incredible TriTip and the mouthwatering Ribs. Their brisket is truly amazing and the closest thing you'll find to authentic Texas-style BBQ in the state, in my opinion. What sets Sacred Ground apart is that they sell their high-quality meats by the pound – this isn't your typical BBQ joint with pre-set sides. If you're just looking for a quick drive-through pulled pork sandwich, Full Moon BBQ might be your spot. But if you want BBQ prepared with passion by true craftsmen in a family-run business, then Sacred Ground BBQ is the place to be. I absolutely love the exceptional service and, most importantly, the outstanding food!

Brisket was a salt lick. Spent $70 on two people. Crazy. Far from the best in Mississippi. They serve fries from a frozen bag here! What!? Ketchup on the fries was the highlight of this meal. Atmosphere was cool but idk how the hell they got featured in a Michelin Guide based on my experience today. Employees didn’t seem to care too much about how I enjoyed my meal either. Would not return.

Really Amazing Place! Spectacular setup for great quick service. Excellent food! Awesome Menu!!! Brussels are Highly Recommended. Brisket Melt is Great! Sides are pretty much top shelf - Pinto Beans, Slaw,!! But don’t miss the Brussels.

This quaint establishment is just off Hwy 49, facing a RR track, which is cool for kids! Rustic interior, order @ the counter, with quick turn around although packed @ Sunday noon. Appetizer Brussels Sprouts was about 2# of wonderful, charted goodness with just a touch of mouth heat & the only thing that was piping hot. GPulled pork sandwich piled high with tender, smoky meat with some kind of cabbage relish - maybe pickled? I prefer finely chopped, fresh cole slaw. The sauces were a real ‘miss’ for us; peppery red (ketchup based - bland), Carolina which is usually a favorite, predominantly sweet but lacking, Alabama mostly vinegar. I passed on all & ate my sandwich sans sauce. Hand cut fries would have been stellar if they were still hot. Sitting halfway between the door & counter, our food was quickly cold on an exceptionally windy day. An air lock at the door would be really helpful. Great sweet tea! I bussed our table because I couldn’t determine if I needed to, seeing some customers do so, others trying to figure it out like me. Quite pricey but portions substantial! Ticket for two was $50 something 🫤 . Great family atmosphere!

good ole ms bbq joint that happen to have what i was looking for: burnt ends. everything was delish with no seasoning needed or added. service was very friendly and food came out at a decent rate! not sure when ill be back in flora, but this experience was one to remember! any joint that knows to add pickles with the meat gets a mario 1up!

counter service is one component i just don't enjoy when dining out. foid was great and portions were generous. lots of outdoor seating but the interior is pretty noisy,

Food, atmosphere & service were all great. Very nice outdoor area fenced off from parking and street with picnic tables for families who wish to let their kids run & play. We ate inside: brisket was awesome & even ordered extra to take home for another day! Fun to see freight and Amtrak passenger trains go past just outside the parking lot.

Everything we tried was delicious--brisket, pulled pork, ribs, fries, and mac and cheese. The barbecue sauce is different than other places we have around here, but it has great flavor and compliments the food well. I'm normally not a big fan of pulled pork, but theirs was delicious. Brisket is done right, and the sides are really good. Next time I'm hoping to try the nachos--they looked amazing! The atmosphere is really fun and much nicer and more fun than most places we have in the Jackson area. So many of our good barbecue restaurants are holes in the wall type. Sacred Ground is not like that; it's the perfect place for a gathering with friends, to watch a game, or eat while kids play. I loved the seating arrangements of both indoor and outdoor dining areas. We went right at opening, so people hadn't gotten seated yet. I anticipate this place will have a wait once word really gets out. We will be back!

It out of the way and a little pricey, but you'll have bragging rights. Sacred Ground offers a great venue for those in an area with few attractions. I definitely recommend their food even though we use fire and charcoal at home too. Fill the tank and be prepared to open your wallet. It is a place you don't want to miss.

Best bbq in the Jackson Metro area by far! Wish it was closer in, would eat there weekly. Good job Sacred Ground. The sides are great and the meats are incredible.

This place was great , the service was amazing! The ambiance was terrific.. FOOD was AMAZING !! I loved it , I'm stingy with my 5 star but this is a 5 star !!

We went there Sunday for lunch. My wife wanted to sample a few different meats. I didn't see a 2 or 3 meat option on the menu which are typical at most BBQ. I asked the young lady taking my order if they had one and she asked a coworker and she said they could make me one. So, I got a piece of jalapeño sausage, four ribs, and small tray of pulled pork and two sides plus one drink. My total was $43. I was shocked. Now the barbecue and sides tasted good, but not worth the price I paid. I stood at the ice / drink machine waiting for the ice to be refilled for at least 5 minutes.my two sides were brought to our table about 5-10 minutes later. I might try them one more time. The building and outside areas are nicely decorated. I hope they get better managed and prices more reasonable.

Lost our order but gave us banana pudding for being late. Burnt ends, corn salad were great. Brisket melt was good. Big sandwich so bring appetite.

Yup! Good enough to stop a train BBQ is back in Pocahontas! Great q with a nice outdoor eating area and indoor dining. (The menu is NOT vegetarian friendly, has no chicken, and no kids/senior menu.) But the meat eaters are lining up for good reason. Please note - Google and Apple Maps both had their address wrong and routed us to some random driveway in Flora. They are located directly across the street from the Indian mounds on 49, spitting distance from where Big D's was (now a dollar store.) Be sure to check out the sauces! The fried pie was meh. But overall - watch out for screeching trains, bbq is back, baby! And it is almost BIG D Delicious!

Not impressed. Food is so-so, price is high. Kid friendly if that's what you're looking for.

We had amazing brisket and had the most amazing brussel sprouts ! Even if you think you don't like, try them ! We highly recommend the food.

Best BBQ in MS. Hands down. Cool joint w/ indoor and outdoor seating, as well as some games (Cornhole, ping pong, etc).We went for an early-ish dinner to beat the crowds and found the service to be very friendly and fast. Our group tried the brisket (melt in your mouth with a beautiful smoke ring) and beef rib (best I've had outside of the top bbq joints in TX.) Also tried the brussels, green chili mac n cheese, beans, and smoked corn salad. All were fantastic! You could make a meal off of the sides alone! Even the sm sides were plenty enough for 2 or 3 to share w/ all the meats and fixins. The red and carolina mustard bbq sauces were great, as were the pickles & pickled onions. So excited to finally have a legit TX style bbq joint in town! The entire menu looks fantastic. Can't wait to go back and try a pile of new options.

Great bbq place with a great vibe. We built a plate trying, brisket, ribs, sausage, tri tip, and turkey. Everything was great but the standout was the brisket which was probably the best I have ever had. Sides were good also and we finished with a banana pudding which was great as well. Service was good and the girl taking order was nice and informative during ordering process. We will definitely be back and I would say this is the best bbq in the Jackson area we have tried them all.

The good: Nice vibe. Great outdoor area in nice weather. The not so good: Price. Two pulled pork sandwiches, two soft drinks, one medium side. With tax and tip, $58.00. Food. Taste is subjective, but their bbq doesn't work for me. The meat is fine, and the sandwiches are full of it, but they also load their sandwiches with a very vinegary slaw which I didn't care for. Only 3 bbq sauces to choose from. A yellow Carolina mustard sauce, Alabama white sauce, and a red sauce. Their red sauce had a smoky chipotle flavor. Didn't care for it. To their credit, the mac and cheese rocked! We probably won't be back.

After visiting the Petrified Forest, we stopped at Sacred Ground for early dinner. My husband ordered the smash burger with fries as the side. No complaints from him. I ordered the brisket potato. The brisket was perfectly cooked and seasoned. The pickled onions and jalapenos were soooo good. The service was excellent and the restaurant was clean and tastefully decorated.

I'm not sure whether to be thrilled that this new spot opened up not far from where I live because after two visits, I will attest that it is excellent and I'm gonna be tempted to visit often! We don't eat out a whole lot, but the meats at Sacred Ground are stellar. The tri-tip and the lean brisket are my favorites but everything we have drive has been smoky and delicious. We've also had the nachos in a can, burnt ends, brussels sprouts, and hatch mac & cheese. We enjoyed all of these! It was very busy each time we went, but I called ahead and picked up our food to go as we had a toddler staying with us who was in bed by the time we were ready to eat There's a separate line for takeout so it was quick and efficient. They have a condiment station with at least three kinds of barbecue sauce. Surprisingly we preferred the Carolina, which is kind of a golden colored vinegar sauce, but it had just enough sweetness. The regular and Alabama barbecue sauces were both very good too. I love that they have jalapeños, pickled red onion, and pickles also available on the station. Serving sizes are generous in my opinion. All the meat is sold by the half pound, and we found that a pound easily fed four of us with a few small sides. They have done a great job making it a fun place to dine in even though we haven't had a chance yet. It's bright and happy with many forms of entertainment for those that want to socialize with family and friends.

Hidden gem in Pocahontas ! Brisket and burgers are on point, and the smoked cream cheese is out of this world. Has a great vibe and really delicious BBQ. Highly recommend !

Brisket is great! Pulled pork is good. Sides are average. Prices for sides are too high. Sandwiches do not come with sides. There are no BBQ plates. $16 for a pulled pork sandwich should came with a side. Meat is sold by weight only. Everything is a la carte. Could be great place.

Great food. I don't know what they add to the Brussel sprouts and green beans but just fantastic. Pulled pork was good and the brisket sandwich is also great. Service was great and the atmosphere was nice. Heaters outside for cooler temperatures. Will be coming back for sure with family.
