Yelp
We are blessed to have this bright, colorful and unpretentious restaurant in the Cow Hollow neighborhood on Union Street. Have a seat at the bar or tables facing out the open windows overlooking Union Street. There is also covered outdoor seating in the patio in the back with its own bar. Private party anyone? The menu has your standard offerings of appetizers (fried pork belly and avocado balls!), soup (Burria ramen soup!) and salads, nachos, burritos, enchiladas, and quesadillas but the restaurant is called Sacred Taco so you probably want to try the tacos first. The protein options are typical but there are some standouts not from around the way such as duck confit, house made pork belly, octopus, and chapulines (crickets). They also have some veggie options such as fried avocados, poblano peppers, shiitake mushrooms, spinach, and artichoke hearts. I was not feeling adventurous this day and went for the staples such as seasoned shrimp, fried cod, carne asada, carnitas, and a yummy quesabirria lamb taco. All were stacked with plenty of protein. This is customary since each taco can range from $8 to $15 for each one. All were very good except for the fish taco which came off a bit bland (give the batter some of your shrimp or spicy chicken seasoning?). The not so secret hack is to come on Taco Tuesday where all tacos and margaritas ($15) are half off. What a deal, what a steal. Will definitely make our way back to this wonderful restaurant to try some of the off the beaten track proteins (crickets!?!) and appetizers like the fried avocados or crispy pork belly. Until then, bless these sacred tacos for all our weary pilgrims who seek good food and drink on Union Street.
