Hosted a baby shower on the back patio and had a great experience! We were having trouble finding a venue we liked and grateful our friend recommended this place! The taco bar and drinks were delicious, and the staff was very accommodating to our requests. We were able to bring outside dessert and we had different tables/stations set up. We had our own private bartender in the back room. The space was perfect, and everything went smoothly! I would definitely host another event here in the future!

We hosted our baby shower at Sacred Taco last month, and it was an amazing experience. Kristian and his team were incredibly supportive and helpful throughout the planning process. The hosting area is beautiful, filled with natural light, and versatile enough that it didn’t require much decoration. Our guests loved the tacos and drinks, and everyone had a great time!

For Wedding Reception @ Sacred Taco Kristian, the owner, was super flexible with us. From the amount of people, to dropping things off the day before to decorate. Staff was super friendly and helpful. I had a family member decorate the restaurant and the staff stepped in to help as well. They took care of cake cutting for us, and when it was time to dance they moved the tables to keep the party going! Food was great, we had 4 varieties of tacos and a nacho bar. Everyone was stuffed!

Took my lovely girlfriend for her bday to celebrate being 21! got an Old fashion, sangria, and another sweet drink that was recommend by the bar tender! If you arent into alcohol I RECOMMEND THE HORCHATA its super sweet and tasty for everyone to enjoy. food was great, I would say order something bigger like the burrito or enchiladas, my birria was only 2 for 19 dollars! but no hate because we ate a lil snack before coming, just wanted to come for the chill night and celebrate my girl's special day. Night time was small and they said we could choose anywhere to sit so we helped ourselves. thanks again for the awesome night.

We had our wedding welcome dinner here, and it couldn't have been a better experience!! Kristian was so helpful with the planning process, and made sure we had all the information we needed. Our bartender was fabulous and our guests had an amazing time! The speaker and microphone setup was excellent and we loved using the space for our event. Thank you again!!

I recently stumbled upon Sacred Taco in SF and was blown away by their impeccable interior design. But the real standout of this restaurant is their food. The tacos are truly a work of art, with creative and delicious combinations of flavors. It's evident that the owner has put their heart and soul into this place, and it shows in every bite. But what really made my experience even better was the service. My waitress Courtney was fantastic, even with a busy restaurant she took the time to make sure my experience was top-notch. She was knowledgeable about the menu and remembered every detail about my order, making the experience feel truly personalized. If you're looking for a place with delicious food and amazing service, look no further than Sacred Taco. I highly recommend giving them a try, you won't regret it!

Google
I have been here 4x now and really *want* to like it, but all 4 times there has been something wrong w my order, so I recommend avoiding if you're a picky eater Pros: cool vibe, location, when done correctly the food is tasty Last time I ordered a carne asada burrito, which their menu this is supposed to come with rice, black beans, sharp cheddar, avocado, and sour cream, plus of course the carne asada. I was very unpleasantly surprised that it came with some surprise pico de Gallo that was not disclosed on the menu or by the server. (It also was inexplicably missing sour cream.) The server comped our burrito (I hadn't directly asked for this though I had indicated the pico basically ruined the burrito for me) though I cared less about getting free meal and more about having the menu ingredients actually match the dish. Tonight I ordered a carne asada burrito bowl, so basically the exact same ingredients as above. I made a point to ask for no guacamole (the physical menu in restaurant doesn't match what's currently on their website; the one I received tonight also listed guac) as well as no pico. The server was happy to oblige my request but when I flagged to him how the menu calls out a ton of other specific ingredients but not pico his response was "oh it's a Mexican restaurant, you should expect pico snuck in" (which IMHO isn't really reasonable when you're listing out other ingredients). Anyway, what I actually received was not only not a burrito bowl but rather a salad, but also not the correct salad ingredients. It had lettuce, corn, black beans, carne asada, avocado, guac, and chipotle vinaigrette (which are part of the salad but not the bowl that I had ordered) instead of the rice, cheddar cheese, sour cream etc. Also, it was inexplicably missing cherry tomatoes and jalapenos, which are supposed to be on the salad. I realize to some this may seem pretty nit picky, but as someone with food allergies I don't think it's appropriate to have a menu that gives the impression of providing a comprehensive list of ingredients but then just to omit some items and add others arbitrarily.

Yelp
One of my go to spots anytime I'm in the city. Great service and the "Catch me Asada" and "Atilla the Hen" tacos are a must have.

Yelp
Came here with my friend the day of Union Street Festival for drinks and tacos. The savoury cocktails are great and Melanie was very sweet. :)

Bella P.

Yelp
Came here for happy hour which is 50% off all tacos and all margaritas (a steal of a deal) and it was delicious! Melanie was our server, super nice and attentive. Love the decor and music (which is not playing so loud that you can't hear, thank god). Overall, love this place for a happy hour and the prices really can't be beat.

Yelp
Sacred Taco is on a super vibrant street. We came in on a Friday evening with no wait, which was great because we were starving. I loved the decor in the restaurant with bright paintings and cute mini flower centerpieces on each table. We ordered a Sacred Chop Salad with carne asada to share. It tasted super fresh, and it was great that the protein add on came with the salad and wasn't an additional charge. I ordered the "You'll Remember Me Tomorrow" taco, which came with fried chicken, jalapeño, and chipotle aioli. It was advertised as very spicy but I personally didn't think it was spicy enough! Still tasty regardless. I also got the Baja Fish taco, which was a classic standard fish taco. One thing I really loved about these tacos was that the tortillas were perfectly cooked with a slight crisp on the outside. Our server was super attentive and came by to check on us multiple times. We ordered a pitcher of a margarita, and the server had made an extra large pitcher and gave us essentially an extra glass of margarita, which was really nice. A great spot! I'd recommend this place to others.

Yelp
Fun bar vibe! Crispy chips and salsa were complimentary. Yummy! Chicken quesadillas were tasty and cheesy. The birria tacos were not my cup of tea since it was made with lamb instead of beef. Patio was a nice open space. Bathroom had a cool design full of color.

Yelp
I LOVE Sacred Taco! Definitely my go-to spot for ALL DAY Happy Hour on Tuesday which includes 50% off all tacos and all margaritas!! Best deal in the city! Pictured is the Shrimp taco, shiitake mushroom taco, and Philly cheesesteak taco and they were all incredible! 10/10

Yelp
Stumbled across this spot when we were visiting the city for the day to get out of the heat, and boy this place was a delight! For a taco tuesdays, all tacos and margaritas are 50% off. Stephanie was very accommodating for our little one who was joining us as well, with a high chair & cup of water. Such a fun & authentic little spot, the decor is very cute & the food is unmatched. We got the philly cheesesteak, fish, quesabirria and spinach artichoke tacos; each one was so unique and very generous portions. Thank you to Nicole & Stephanie for a great experience, we will see you next time!

Yelp
I went to Sacred Taco specifically for the antelope, duck, and octopus tacos. I even called ahead to confirm they weren't out of anything. I was told they were only out of avocados/guacamole and shiitake mushrooms. That didn't deter me, so my wife and I arrived shortly after. The service was attentive and friendly. We started off with margaritas. Those were really good, and strong too. While submitting our food order, our waitress told me they were out of antelope and duck. I ended up ordering cheek meat, cheesesteak, pork belly, octopus, and shrimp tacos. My wife ordered a cheese quesadilla. The cheek meat taco was so flavorful and tender, and easily the best taco I tried. The shrimp taco was also flavorful. The octopus taco was good, but a bit spicy for my liking. Both the cheesesteak and pork belly tacos were dry and underwhelming. The cheese quesadilla was extremely bland and wasn't crispy. My wife requested sour cream, but they were out of it. After finishing our dinner, we wanted to order churros. Turns out, they were out of those, as well. I could understand being out of so many items if it were busy, but it wasn't at all. In short, my experience at Sacred Taco was a disappointing one.

Yelp
We are blessed to have this bright, colorful and unpretentious restaurant in the Cow Hollow neighborhood on Union Street. Have a seat at the bar or tables facing out the open windows overlooking Union Street. There is also covered outdoor seating in the patio in the back with its own bar. Private party anyone? The menu has your standard offerings of appetizers (fried pork belly and avocado balls!), soup (Burria ramen soup!) and salads, nachos, burritos, enchiladas, and quesadillas but the restaurant is called Sacred Taco so you probably want to try the tacos first. The protein options are typical but there are some standouts not from around the way such as duck confit, house made pork belly, octopus, and chapulines (crickets). They also have some veggie options such as fried avocados, poblano peppers, shiitake mushrooms, spinach, and artichoke hearts. I was not feeling adventurous this day and went for the staples such as seasoned shrimp, fried cod, carne asada, carnitas, and a yummy quesabirria lamb taco. All were stacked with plenty of protein. This is customary since each taco can range from $8 to $15 for each one. All were very good except for the fish taco which came off a bit bland (give the batter some of your shrimp or spicy chicken seasoning?). The not so secret hack is to come on Taco Tuesday where all tacos and margaritas ($15) are half off. What a deal, what a steal. Will definitely make our way back to this wonderful restaurant to try some of the off the beaten track proteins (crickets!?!) and appetizers like the fried avocados or crispy pork belly. Until then, bless these sacred tacos for all our weary pilgrims who seek good food and drink on Union Street.

Yelp
Came by for a late lunch on Saturday and it was relatively quiet. This spot was clean with cool interior design and I believe they had a back outdoor patio as well. While our food took a while to arrive, we weren't offered any complimentary chips that other reviews had mentioned. I got the burrito with a chipotle wrap (they also have spinach wraps) and it was alright. They went heavy on the beans and rice which overpowered any other ingredient in the burrito. The tacos were definitely a better option on the menu. The meats were perfectly seasoned though either the guac or salsa was incredibly salty. Portions were large and loaded with ingredients. The Al Pastor taco was interesting, it has marinated pineapples which added an almost funky sour flavor (not my favorite). This place satisfied our cravings for Mexican food though I'm not sure if I would crave this exact spot again. Service was friendly and prices are reasonable.

Yelp
LOVED trying sacred taco for the first time this weekend! Ambiance was casual, pretty busy and lively inside. Could be a great place for friends and parties! Service was super friendly too. You can tell everyone here loves being here. Food was delicious and super reasonably priced. They do not skimp on the fillings for tacos here. They are huge and absolutely delicious, range from $8-$13 I think. The chips were perfect and drinks were delicious too! Special shoutout to Christian for the free tequila shots and margarita pitcher! My friend and I had so much fun :) thanks for having us! ‍‍‍

Yelp
DO NOT EAT HERE!! They delivered the wrong meal to my table and I touched it with my hands and picked at the meat and I watched them walk it over to another table. That is so disgusting and weird. They then did not want to give me my change after paying which I wouldn't mind but they didn't even ask if it was okay. Very odd experience here and I don't recommend it. And to top it off the burrito was 18 and it didn't rock my world, just a standard burrito
google avatar

Yelp
I'm sad because this place used to be amazing but now it's terrible. The chips served were nasty crumbs and not the in house chips served before. The salsa also used to be my absolute favorite but now it's a watered down version. Don't even get me started on the queso. Yuck. It was just microwaved cheese. Got a burrito and it was flavorless ... yet $17. Unheard of. Definitely can get a better burrito and price in the Mission. Service was meh. Won't be back

Yelp
White washed Mexican restaurant LACKS FLAVOR The food is NOT great....... No flavor in the salsa The beans were probably canned Very white washed meals We ordered the Al pastor tacos and Egg taco thing? My mother ordered a burrito bowl.... Asked for limes and salt to add flavor to our food...they gave a cup of salt and sliced limes that go on rims! Margaritas were good and flavorful

Yelp
FRAUD ALERT!!!!!!!!!..... STEALS MONEY ON CC. PAY CASH ACTUALLY DONT GO Oh man where to start.... - walk in and no acknowledgment of presence for 1st few mins until I ask is it just sit anywhere, which yes. - get seated & wait 10mins for menu and water, which prompted me to actually start timing how long things took - we ordered and it's been just over 45mins. My soda and food are no where to be found - I ask for the chips and salsa they give to all tables to have something at least, although this added to my thirst while my water cup stays empty. We've seen about 3 tables get up and leave at this point after having ordered. I'm tempted but hungry. Oh the conundrum - okay we hit the 1hr mark, food and soda still hasn't arrived and water glass still empty. I ask waitress who was hiding behind a pillar for most of the time. Her response "well that would mean I have to go down to the kitchen and bar." ... ummm ya what in the world?! I ask her should I do it, which she said yes to. UNREAL - I go get my soda while she brings out my cold pork belly. Food was not good at all. Gave it back to her and sat hungry as I finished my soda and friend had her soggy salad - we go back to behind the pillar again to find our hiding waitress and get the bill. She then covers her hand over the price as she says $30 to my friend while putting cc up to the payment reader. My friend asked for the receipt, which showed $30. Then she gets a notification from her bank saying she was charged $90 - waitress giggles and says whoops! Big surprise she can't figure out how to make a refund, so we wait another 20 mins while she gets cash.... Complete scam artist and a bad one at that. Waste of time and money.

Yelp
Love love love this place! I've tried their catch me asada taco and carne asada burrito and both are delicious!! The service is always great and it's a cool weekday dinner spot. My fav taco/burrito place in cow hollow/marina

Yelp
Had an event planned with Sacred Taco for about 25 people and they graciously offered us their back room along with their roof access. The space provided was really spacious and the decor was beautiful. Service was pretty quick. We ordered items off the menu and it was more than enough food for 25-30 people. Some of the items ordered were the tater tots, chips and guacamole, wings, and (I think) taquitos. All the food was really delicious and the attendees really enjoyed the food and atmosphere.
google avatar

Yelp
This was incredibly disappointing. The place was clean enough but at immediate glance, food storage guidelines were not good as the tomatillos were in a box directly on the floor near the kitchen. Food safety guidelines mention this should be above the floor (at least 6 inches) when storing goods. Having worked in food service before, this was already a bad sign. I also wish I read the reviews better but was not expecting to pay $9 to 13 bucks for one taco! And I don't think it's homemade tortillas. Our service unfortunately was not great. We hadn't gotten our food checked until a party after us got their food. I'm typically very understanding but I tried to get the attention of the wait staff 2 to 3 times but to no avail. We never got the dip we ordered and had waited more than 30 minutes. When we mentioned this and just went to pay at the bar since our food took so long, we didn't get an apology or anything. I was shocked that it was only one taco. The octopus was cooked well but masked by all the sauce and the pico de gallo. It was mostly pico de gallo if you could see in my picture. Shouldn't the octopus be the star of the taco? The tortilla was thin. I don't think I'd come back here because of the service and the overpriced food. It was still a sticker shock and not as amazing as other taco places in the bay. Disappointing.

Yelp
OMG, amazing service, even more amazing nachos! Thank you our server Nicole was the bomb
google avatar

Jessica M.

Yelp
Came here for to try the tacos. On the website they mentioned using home made tortillas and high quality ingredients. I was shocked when the shrimp taco arrived. After reading the more recent reviews here and hearing from some other businesses in the area, they've changed chefs and/or management. I would not go here again.
google avatar

Donna M.

Yelp
Their hours of operation could be accurate. I was rudely turned around by the bartender at 10:36p with "we're closed"... they didn't even offer to serve/buy a drink, although there were patrons inside and out. If the kitchen or bar closes earlier than the posted hour of 11 PM, and neon open late sign, then it should be reflected in the advertisement, not the attitude. I was tired, hungry, and looking forward to something savory that would satiate my appetite and really looking forward to trying the food, as the pictures looked amazing...I was even planning to buy a drink or two while I wait, but alas, I was turned away. .... By the way, the hours were just updated by the owner 1 month ago... I only chose 1 star because I couldn't leave it blank.

Yelp
A neighborhood gem! Al Pastor taco and Birria Ramen were awesome as well as the Avocado balls and Flautas (not pictured here). The staff provided excellent, speedy and friendly service. The restaurant is very clean, inviting and had great ambience. Will definitely be back to try more items from the menu.

Yelp
Stopped by here as I wanted to try something new. Place had a great vibe and was relatively quiet for Sunday lunch time but it was also a little bit of a rainy day outside. My server was great and friendly and the food was great. I didn't expect such a large proportion but it was great and I will return to have it again. The drinks were great also. Thanks for the service.
google avatar

Rosa C.

Yelp
I stumbled upon this hidden gem in the marina, and I was greeted by their wonderful hostess Kim! I felt so welcomed as soon as I came in. Our waiter Fabricio was an absolute delight and so attentive to us. He took our orders recommended the pork to go along with the nachos as our protein and wow it was so good! The way the pork was seasoned, cooked perfectly, their chips were also well made and seasoned enough where it's not too much salt or too little salt. Their guacamole was delicious too. I'm so glad I stepped in here you guys will definitely be seeing me come back!! I also ordered the Catch Me Asada taco but forgot to take a pic, it was delicious! They have really good portions. Definitely give them a try if you're in the neighborhood, and they're open late!!
google avatar

Yelp
Love the food and drinks at this spot! The service is amazing as well. Definitely a fun place to bring a group of friends and share some tacos together.

Yelp
I visited this place on Saturday. Best part this place is open until 12pm. Ordered veggie Avocado taco, chips and gauc. The taste was just ok. I felt the chips and gauc was simply too expensive. Overall the place is clean and good vibes. Staff is friendly.
google avatar

Craig A.

Yelp
My prior post was fine too but I didn't add the extra star because I did not eat a Sacred Toco... but I will be back to do that in short order. Everything else about our experience demanded a higher rating.

Yelp
What a great find! We had a reservation at Colibri, but due to the storms, they lost power and closed before our reservation. I quickly pulled out my mobile device, and thanks to my fellow Yelpers, was referred to Sacred Taco. We happened in on a Sunday with 1/2 off tacos and margaritas. A couple of us ordered burritos, and everyone else ordered an array of tacos, more about that in a minute. We started with obligatory chips and salsa, but also ordered the Fried Avocado balls and the mesquite! Both were fantastic. The avocado balls were crispy and delicious, without the avocado inside being mush. The esquire was full of flavor and an excellent appetizer. The burritos were very flavorful. All of us burrito-ers chose the chicken tinga which had a great taste. Burritos are a nice size perfectly made and cut in half for ease of eating by hand. The tacos were many, and nothing was "typical". Everything from pork belly and egg, to cabeza and lengua, to vege/vegan offerings. The staff were efficient and friendly and our server kept checking back to make sure we had everything we needed/wanted. Definitely will be a place of return for us!
google avatar

Veronica J.

Yelp
T thankful this place was open late after watching a show. The esquite was my fave, wanted a little more crema but didn't complain. I still didn't want to share it. Avocado balls, weren't bald just deep fried pieces of avocado. The chorizo queso was good until it got cold. The gooey cheese was no longer there. I would suggest a hot plate or a way to keep it warm while dining. The tacos tho!!? The chicken tinga was delicious!! Lots of flavor, not overcooked. The pork belly had a sweet savory taste to it.. will definitely be back with a bigger appetite to try more food
google avatar

Andrea S.

Yelp
I wish I took photos. Very aesthetically pleasing look. I was definitely excited to be dining at this location. This is more of a more casual bar style restaurant. The service was great and the cocktails were all very good! I ordered the shrimp tacos and they came out pretty good, however this is more bar style food rather than actual restaurant dishes. Hope to return someday soon!
google avatar

Veronica G.

Yelp
Extremely disappointed with Sacred Taco. The taco, priced steeply at ten dollars, was underwhelming and did not live up to the hype. The bland salsa lacked any authentic spice, feeling more like ketchup than a proper Mexican condiment. The cultural mismatch reached its peak during a Taylor Swift-themed event, which felt entirely out of place and made the experience uncomfortable. It was so off-putting that I wanted to leave immediately. Overall, the visit was a letdown--overpriced, unauthentic, and culturally insensitive.
google avatar

K P.

Yelp
The service and food were great. Taco Tuesday they half price on tacos and guacamole. The music was great.
google avatar

Anashe B.

Yelp
Made me sick and the team completely got our order wrong after we confirmed twice. Unfortunately will not be returning again.
google avatar

Nick S.

Yelp
Great spot in cow hollow for tacos and margs. Deals for taco Tuesday which is great. Big fan of the michelada!

Ashleigh B.

Yelp
As a local to San Francisco, I can say that this spot is truly great! The staff, especially Melanie, was incredibly attentive, warm, and inviting. Her ability to help us during one of the busiest days of the year, the Union Street Festival, and still keep a genuine smile on her face was next level. We also thoroughly enjoyed the food! The carnitas tacos and crispy pork belly were a home run. If you find yourself on Union Street, be sure to check out this fantastic spot!
google avatar

Tiffany V.

Yelp
We were super excited to go here but were pretty disappointed. The michelada was seasoned well but had way too much of that and hardly any beer. It was wild. The food was.... Just ok. I love spicy food but everything had this deep intense spice that just kind of took over and made it less enjoyable. I was with 2 friends and they all felt the same way.... It was just too much, you couldn't taste the flavors of the food. I had the birria tacos, one chicken, one beef... the beef was cut into huge chunks that were hard to eat, plus they had gristle - ugh! The chicken one was fine. My friend got the ramen with salmon, it was the same birria sauce with seemingly standard ramen noodles (like dry pack from the grocery store) Our other friend had the mole enchiladas and they too were just ok, but the spice (cayenne?) was everywhere. We also got the guacamole and it was pricey and standard. Would not be eager to go back.
google avatar

Jillian Maree B.

Yelp
This spot was okay. They didnt serve chips and dip, but they did have a pitcher of margarita! We tried the Porn star margarita, it was okay! I also had the shrimp and carne asada taco, it doesn't come with rice and beans. You have to order the tacos separately. The man who served us recommended it and he was attentive, which was great ! The server was great, but some were not as welcoming. Overall this spot is good, but Ive tried better.

Yelp
Sacred Taco is a hidden gem and 'sacred' new spot in Cow Hollow! My boyfriend and I came around 8pm on Sunday and were able to be seated right away. We loved the fun decor inside. The interior is big, has a lot of TVs for sports and a huge patio in the back great for big parties! They also have $20 Bachata lessons every Wednesday! Our server Matthias was AWESOME, so kind, and gave great recommendations on the menu. He was definitely a fun vibe. Here's what we got: Esquite corn: corn off the cob covered in cotija cheese and spices. This was pretty standard esquite - I wish the corn was more fresh but I really enjoyed the seasoning. Make sure to mix it up before diggin in! Chicken Mole Enchiladas: braised chicken, mole sauce, black beans and Spanish rice. I saw someone else order this on yelp and boy oh boy was it DELICOUS. They could serve me the mole sauce on cardboard and I'd still eat it! The mole sauce was luscious, rich, and packed with flavor. According to Matthias they just made the mole sauce today, so it was great to have that fresh serving. The chicken enchilada was also delicious and I loved the toasty bottom of the enchilada. The Spanish rice was also great! I'm partial to refried beans vs. Regular so i didn't have much of it but it was definitely a generous portion. I only ate one of the enchiladas and took the rest to go. Antelope burrito: Spanish rice, black beans, sharp cheddar cheese, avocado, sour cream, and ANTELOPE. My boyfriend ordered this and can normally eat A LOT, but was so stuffed from the portion size. I've never had antelope before and it was definitely interesting for sure. Kind of reminded me of a lamb or pork texture. Margarita: standard marg with cimmaron tequila blanco, fresh lime juice, and agave. I got this with the Tajin rim and enjoyed it! Definitely felt buzzy buzzed afterward. My boyfriend and I definitely enjoyed Sacred Taco and are so glad it's close to home in Cow Hollow! We will definitely come back for the horchata frozen daiquiri and for Matthias' excellent service! Thanks Sacred Taco!

Julianne R.

Yelp
Everything we ate here was so delicious. We ordered the birria tacos and shrimp tacos -- both were really good. The guacamole appetizer is a really generous portion -- my friend and I couldn't even finish it. And when is guac ever left at the table?? The spicy margarita was also on point. It's a casual but trendy space. Highly recommend giving this place a try!

Dipali S.

Yelp
We popped in here for a quick taco and it was such a fun experience! We sat at the bar and the staff were super friendly, making sure to keep refilling our water and complimentary salsa/chips while we waited for the food. The taco itself was good, I wish it had a bit more flavor and slightly less onion though. Overall everything was good, with surprisingly great service even though it was so crowded inside. Next time I'll definitely be trying The Devil's Avocado!
google avatar

Yelp
Food is great! Infused tequilas are excellent! Restaurant is open and inviting! Service is the cherry on top!!!
google avatar

Andy W.

Yelp
Good and inventive tacos, but at $9-$11 each, very hard to recommend. They are street taco-size, so you need to order two or three. They give you strip chips and salsa, which is a nice touch. And, full bar makes the tacos go down easy. They were out of antelope and lamb the night we visited. Try as a novelty, but you'll probably appreciate your local taqueria more after experiencing taco-price-shock. Nice indoor and outdoor space.

Yelp
5 Tacos, 2 Cokes and Chips with Guac = $86. The math ain't mathing. GO SOMEWHERE ELSE! (Good house made tortillas. Nice ambiance) Hard pass---Over priced drinks too. Go to a bar instead.

Liliana L.

Yelp
Food subpar - service HORRIBLE!! We watched 5 groups of people leave the place after waiting 40+ minutes for food that never came. We should have left too, because everything was the worst. The table chips we had to beg to get were actually rancid. The waitress would stand and hide behind a pillar ignoring people until you came up to her. When we asked how long on the food (that was 45 minutes after ordering) she said "I'd have to go all the way to the kitchen to find out" - like that's not her job?!! Then she sneakily tried to overcharge us by $60 and was shocked when I noticed. It was a truly unreal experience, I NEVER review and this place just ruined my day so I had to warn others. 0 stars. Don't go.

Yelp
(3.5 rounded down to 3) Came to Sacred Taco on a Saturday evening with a group of 4 and were seated promptly without a reservation because it was pretty empty inside. Loved the free chips and salsa, thought the rest of the food was solid but overpriced. Service was good but slow. I'd hit up a different spot if ever in the mood for tacos while in the Marina again.

Yelp
Wow what a mess. Was glad I could easily book reservations on yelp on short notice. The restaurant actually has a huge backroom where the majority of the tables are located. We were seated in this hallway which connected the front bar area with that main back dining room. It looked empty from where we were sitting but the backroom was totally packed. Took forever to get served, and had to flag them down for water. Our server complained that they had sent staff home thinking the night was going to be slow and then it got packed. But this was a Friday night ! (Bad management?) My favorite thing I ate was the free nachos. These chips were probably made in house cuz they were super fresh, crunchy, came in long pieces, so they were super dippable and didn't get soggy with all the toppings and salsa. They were so good we ordered a nacho special plate for the table. We ordered a paloma pitcher and it wasn't very good. The sour from the grapefruit was not appropriately balanced. I ordered the antelope burrito in a salad tortilla bowl option. The antelope meat was so gamey and sooooo salty. They needed to do something else or cook the meat a different way to elevate it more. I tried some of my friends dishes and I thought everything was super salty. The salad option originally came with a chipotle vinaigrette. I asked for it to be on the side because it was pure oil and not good at all. It would have made the already pretty inedible antelope even more gross. I was slightly annoyed I had to flag down our waiter because he forgot the sauce on the side initially. My friend had a tooth issue so she ordered a taco with the lettuce option instead of a tortilla . She also doesn't eat cilantro so she told them to hold that. This taco was like $9 and it came out as just meat on top of a piece of lettuce. We asked the server, uh what happened to the egg and the sauce ? Then they said they ran out of eggs and the sauce has cilantro in it. These are all things that should have been disclosed when she was ordering. And they should have gave her another sauce option. It's like there was no quality checking at all. How are you going to charge these prices and allowing this to come out of the kitchen, calling some meat on top of lettuce a $9 taco ? The manager felt really bad and could tell we weren't happy so he came over later and comped us tequila shots for our whole party (6ppl) and also a free dessert. It was funny because we couldn't tell if it was flan or cheesecake because it looked like flan but the taste and texture was more like cheesecake. I asked the manager and he said it was the flan. We were all confused and suspected they just soak it in some caramel sauce on the same cheesecake and call it flan. Really wanted to give a better review as they had some really unique tacos. and I felt bad for our server but I was really unhappy with how they treated my friend. Not eating cilantro is not something new at all. The comped tequila was some topshelf stuff cuz it went down super smooth, but I don't like the idea of just throwing free stuff at people to try to make amends for bad business. Just get it right the first time!

Yelp
Arrived on a sunday afternoon, and the place was empty. Should've taken the hint and left but decided to stay and try the food. Once we arrived, we were seated and then they gave us chips and salsa. The chips were freshly made but it was so greasy as if it was drenched in oil. I was in a group of 5 people and we ordered the shrimp burrito bowl, birria taco, duck confit bowl, fried chicken quesadilla, a carne asasa taco, and the cheesesteak taco. The restaurant literally had us and another couple but it took over 30 min to get our food. Not sure as to why as all the food was so bland and so greasy. The birria tacos were the worst. The dipping was so greasy and lacked so much flavoring. The fried chicken quesadilla was so heavy and again does the restaurant not use spices. The two good things i will say about this place is that it is very nicely decorated and it serves bottomless mimosas. 100% come if you want to do bottomless mimosas but not for the food.

Yelp
Man, yelp really did me dirty with this one. Either we went on a particularly bad night or the standard for tacos in this neighborhood is very low. We sat at the bar and were ignored most of the time with long waits to order, get items, and get the check. Originally had planned on 2 rounds of drinks but never got asked (and pretty sure I was given the wrong cocktail the first time). We tried the cricket, antelope, and pork tacos. They were out of carne asada (it was still pretty early in the evening too?). Crickets by themselves were good, though I think they would be better as a bar snack - just a little bowl of them would be great! The taco as a whole didn't do the crickets any favors. The antelope was not good, we do not recommend at all. The pork was the best by far, but if I compared it to any number of other places it wouldn't hold a candle to them. If I'm spending 10+ dollars for one taco it should be amazing. Maybe a bunch of people had called out sick or something, but for a place to disappoint on every aspect is rare.

Yelp
Never come here! Used to come here every week but I think new ownership or management has taken over. Had to flag down the server for every little thing. I specifically asked before ordering anything if they still had "taco Tuesday for 50% off" and she said yes everything is 50% off. Then we waited for 45 min for the cold food which was awful (which is a bummer bc they had some of the best tacos in SF before). Then the bill came and it was full price so I asked and she actually said "I know I said that everything is half off but that's not the case anymore" Don't come here. Seriously. Don't.
