"Another long-standing Albuquerque institution, Sadie’s has been serving New Mexican food for over 60 years. Its food is regularly voted as a 'Best Of' winner for the Albuquerque Journal and its locations all boast regional classics. Try the sliders with sopaipillas for buns." - Asonta Benetti

Sadie’s is excellent. I am not from Albuquerque, but I have eaten Mexican food throughout the Southwest. Though I wouldn’t call Sadie’s the very best place I’ve ever eaten, I enjoyed the food a lot. They were accommodating to a vegan diet and sensitive about allergies. The service is pretty much the best I’ve had in a long time. We were checked on, but not too frequently, and the salsa slayed. Eat here, especially if you’re vegetarian or vegan. They’ll treat you well and try to make it work for you. Good job, Sadie’s.

Google
Great food, service, and atmosphere. Come here and taste the love put into every dish. We had a party of 14 of all ages and we were treated like family. Thank you for the great experience and for representing ABQ well.

Google
Sadies has always been our favorite for New Mexican food. The portions sizes are huge, and we always have leftovers. Food is always fresh, and they have the best sopapillas. Service is still good, but it used to be exceptional. Servers do seem to be a bit more frazzled of late, and it hard to get drink refills. Over all, still a great experience, and we will be back. Love the little on site store. A great place to pick up salsa, coffee, and some unique gift items.

Google
This is the place to stop in Albuquerque! So much history here and amazing food. The sopapillas are amazing- and they provide honey on the table- just amazing. Our server was so helpful, friendly, and patient as we asked a ton of questions. My chicken quesadilla was amazing. My husband loved the green chili stew. The stuffed sopapilla sliders were also amazing. The facility is enormous- would be a perfect place for parties, and it looked like they had a few banquet halls. Everything was simply amazing.

Google
I wanted to love this place since it was recommended to us by my in laws. Our plates were smothered in their signature sauces & they were just way too spicy. My husband was able to power through and eat half his plate while I was only able to handle a couple bites. The brisket sopalpillas were really good though, and didn’t have any spice so that’s what I stuck to. However, our waiter was very attentive and the atmosphere was great.

Google
Came on a recommendation from friends. We came out disappointed. Got the shredded chicken burrito, it had no flavor. Just boiled chicken with nothing else. The spicy beef was just hamburger meat. One kind of salsa, hot. Not for me. Don’t think we will be back.

Sadie’s has great lunch specials. Food was excellent. Service has been great. Portion sizes are great. We will definitely come back! Lots of indoor seating. Family friendly. Lots of parking. Handicap parking too. Sopapilas are outstanding!

During a visit to ABQ, my friend took me here for dinner. Vegetarian entree choices are a bit limited, but I opted for a frijoles burrito. It came with a side of potatoes and beans, and was supposed to be covered in their red and green (hatch) chili sauce. The potatoes were unfortunately stale and dried, and they appeared to overlook the red & green chili sauce. But, my simple refried bean burrito was delicious! FYI, the small portion was enough for two meals for me. I cannot imagine ordering a large portion, which the server said was 2x the small. Wow. We ordered their prickly pear margarita, but were disappointed at the lack of actual prickly pear flavoring. I'd rather get a regular margarita next time, since they appear to use a watered down prickly pear juice. Their chips and salsa... if I could have carried their 2 kg bottle of salsa home on the flight, I would have. Just simple delicious flavors with a wonderful kick! I would gladly return.

Yelp
Wow. A local recommended we give Sadie's a shot to get a taste of authentic New Mexican food. We arrived around 8 and they were still bust but were seated after a short wait. Plenty of parking and it was needed as the lot was full The chips and salsa are amazing. The salsa is spicy but delicious. The plates we ordered were "smalls". Not sure who could eat a large as my 19 yo didn't clean his plate and it wasn't because the food was bad. Delicious but spicy which is expected. Great service as we had to have multiple glasses of water. Great old school sit down restaurant with retro paintings. Love it.

Yelp
This review is really about service tonight. It begins and ends with Desiree. Sadie's is a North Valley staple. When family returns for visits it remains an accommodating space to gather. Admittedly not my favorite New Mexican food, but gosh dang, Desiree's ability to read a table with prompt service and the perfect amount of attention was brilliant. This table of eight had the ample time to reconnect as Desiree navigated needs and assured our enjoyment. People often note the lack of service as they venture out for dining experiences. Not at all the experience tonight. If we could rate Sadies for: Food: 1/2. Desiree:

Yelp
Preston was our waiter. He was very attentive and fast on his feet. Great service. I got the tamale. Delicious! Will be back.

Yelp
Sat alone at the bar to avoid a 20 minute wait. The chips and salsa were good. Salsa was pretty spicy. Someone said that the kind they sell in stores is not the same as what comes with the chips. Pozole was flavorful and I barely got to try my chili relleno because I was full. I had a sopapilla, too. Great place to sit and have a conversation with strangers.

Denise R.

Yelp
I must say, I have not been to Sadie's in a couple of years because I felt they got too "touristy" and the chile suffered for it being bland and not hot. That being said, I was in the area and decided to give them a shot. I ordered a stuffed sopapilla with red chile and no garnish. It came out pretty fast, The order was correct and it was nicely packaged in a foil pan with a plastic lid. Very sturdy. It was a generous portion size and smelled good the whole way home. I live in Rio Rancho so it was a pretty good drive and much to my surprise it was still nice and hot! I was also very pleasantly surprised at the flavor of the red chile! It was awesome! Had great flavor and heat. Wow! I most certainly be a returning customer! (I was so surprised I forgot to take a picture lol)

Yelp
We were told by 3 people to check out Sadie's while in town. Thank goodness we did! Literally the best burrito I've ever had. Service was great, portions were huge and the price was so cheap. Would give 10 stars!

Kathy F.

Yelp
The host at our hotel recommended this place and even though it was a slight drive for us, we were so happy we made it there!! The food was truly phenomenal... we got the large plate with three different servings, one was Carne abocado (sp?), and then chili Reno and chicken enchilada and the sides that came with it were little potato bites and refried beans. The green salsa Verde and the red salsa and the chips and salsa and the bread they gave us were so outstanding. If I were local, I would go back here again and again!! Our waitress whose name I forgot but might be something like Nadalie was so helpful and sweet and generous. I'm real surprised in hindsight that the rating isn't 4.5 or higher!

Yelp
Sadie's was on our list of spots to visit during our Albuquerque sister trip. When arriving at Sadie's, we were surprised at how tiny the parking lot was. It cold only avcompdate a hand full of cars. The inside was just as small, good thing we went at a time when it wasn't busy! Our food was just ok, and surprisingly, very under seasoned. My sister got tacos and was disappointed in the taste. The portion sizes were huge! We could have shared the taco plate, but we had no idea it would be that much food. The restaurant gave mom and pop vibes. The red and green salsa was delicious, which was a plus, but everything else was just ok.

Ruben G.

Yelp
I came here for dinner thinking the food was as delicious as the salsa sold in grocery stores but sadly it wasn't. I ordered the chile relleno plate and ordered flour tortilla on the side. The red chile was dark in color and had an odd flavor (maybe burnt). The beans weren't that great either. Perhaps I just ordered the wrong thing cause everyone else's dishes looked pretty good. Our waitress was wonderful and kept our drinks full. I won't be rushing back anytime soon.

Yelp
Sat at bar for lunch, huge and plenty of seating inside. Bartneder was very friendly but not a good server. He never checked on us and was too busy trying to be funny and visiting with the locals. Not sure what he was doing but he wasn't helping us. Chips tasted very stale (bartender admitted they weren;t good but insisted they were fresh) Salsa was very spicy as was most of the food. Enchilada plate was a mess, i couldn't tell where the enchilada was, it was like a mixed plate. Pozole was not good. See picture but it was meat and a little hominy. No cabbage, radishes, oregano etc. on the side as all mexican restaurants do. We did ask the bartender, he said "oh, you should have had it". Thanks Bartender. Red chile cup was ok. Sopapillas were delicious. We did tell the cocky bartender it just wasn't good food when he finally asked as he was waiting for his tip. We won't be back. I got the impression they are too big for their britches.

Yelp
First of all - Frozen Strawberry Margarita! I always order one. Not a traditional margarita, but in the wonderful cool relaxed atmosphere of Sadie's nothing is better to start your meal. I love meeting friends here for a mid-afternoon lunch, early dinner. We can just sit back and enjoy the great food (and the margaritas) and catch-up on life's adventures. Sadie's makes you feel at home. Service is outstanding . . . and the food? OMG! Typical New Mexican, but great homemade taste. Only complaint I have is when I leave I am too full and the only thing on my mind is a . . . NAP! (Hopefully, you will be able to control your appetite and take leftovers home.) My extended family loves to meet here. This location on 4th Street is centrally located for us. Someday I will have to try the East location . . . to see if it is as good as 4th Street. Someday.

Trae G.

Yelp
Came here on business from out of town we decided to give Sadie a shot. I came here 20 years ago, and wanted to see if it was the same. I had the small dinner burrito, which is huge with Carne Adovada. It needed salt. Other than that it was pretty good chips and salsa are good. The salsa is pretty spicy was excellent and the decor has not changed in the 20 years that has passed.

Denise C.

Yelp
The ambiance is nice enough but the food was HORRIBLE!!! The papitas were like little rocks on my plate. The chicken on my enchilada plate was so very dry. It was way too expensive for the quality of food they served. In short, DO NOT EAT HERE!!!

Chelsea W.

Yelp
I hadn't stopped into this Albuquerque treasure for years. I tried a few times before this day, but I'm An impatient customer and don't like wait lines. Today there wasn't any. I ordered the carne adovado plate , my husband had a burrito. These servings were delicious and HUGE! Served with beans/potatoes (or rice) , My dish could have fed three people for sure. I took most of it home. We had quick service, chips and salsa come with your order and Sopapillas, too! Don't miss this if you're visiting ABQ!

Rod C.

Yelp
Carne Adovada enchiladas with green chile, I miss you. We moved to Fort Worth several years ago, but come back to NM yearly for a week in Santa Fe and a trip to Sadies (and maybe El Pinto ).

Rod F.

Yelp
Sadie's is without doubt the best Mexican restaurant in the Albuquerque area, if not the entire state! My wife and I went there recently. It has been some years since we've been at Sadie's. Unfortunately, Sadie's is not close to our home. Anyway, they treat you very well. The food is second to none. The enchilada plate I had was so delicious and big!! The red and green chili is spicy. To me, this isn't a place to take your relatives from back East who aren't acclimated to spicy food. But if you're a New Mexican or someone whose been here a long time, dang is this good and hot! I love it. Sadie's is a large establishment, so they can accommodate several people. This is a great place to come to. I only wish I lived closer.

Alisha B.

Yelp
Came here for breakfast. Everything was so delicious! Customer service was great. Everyone here seemed busy working, it was a busy morning for them and they were handling everything very well. I can't wait to come back for some more good meals.

Brad H.

Yelp
We had two combination platters. That's the Small two items platter, but still, it's Huge. Lost of beans and hash brown potatoes covered in cheese. Plus we asked for the chili on the side and you get a good sized bowl of chili. We did the Classic Margaritas... good, but maybe a bit more ice would props bit more drink. Great waiter... I gave him a 200% tip. He made the night with his personality. Huge meal... go there hungry.

McKenzie Z.

Yelp
Definitely a nice restaurant. Food is decent. Pricing is extremely reasonable and great for portion sizes for what they give you. Service is fast. Seems busy often which to me is a good sign. Chips and salsa are free and very yummy with constant refills of chips which is great. Salsa is pretty spicy.

Scott K.

Yelp
It had been a number of years since I had been to Sadie's, but work brought me back to NM yet again. This place is huge by the way - we were told a table would take 20+ minutes but within 2-3 the hostess had found us a table - which seemed like in another whole restaurant as we walked through at least 3 rooms to get to ours. Room was big and airy and not too loud despite the decent crowd this evening. My party all ordered different dinner meals - and all were great - and humongous. I had a "small" burrito (Xmas style chili's - that's both red and green for those new to NM)! It arrived on an oval place about 15inches wide or more and full of food. They had a large on the menu I don't know how or what size plate that would have arrived on. All of us barely ate 1/3 to 1/2 of our meals - not because we didn't enjoy but just so big. Also the beer list was pretty decent and varied and the chips and salsa was as good as it gets. You can't go wrong with Sadie's if you are craving NM food (and you're hungry)!

Dan A.

Yelp
Was recommended by no less than 5 locals to try this place. Here's why I rated 3 stars. The restaurant has a nice feel to it. Great atmosphere and looked well decorated and well kept. The staff was really friendly and I was seated immediately. There is a small gift shop at the front of the store, insinuating a famous place in Albuquerque. The server was immediately at my table taking my order for a drink. She had a smile the whole time and knew the menu well. Chips and salsa arrived immediately and so did the golden margarita. The chips were crunchy and fresh, but the first disappointment was the salsa was too hot! I could only dip about 5 chips in it before I started sweating and had to stop. The Margarita was smaller than I expected for $13 but was still good I ordered a combination plate of ground beef taco, Chile relleno and a tamale with green sauce on top. The taco was good, the shell was crunchy but not crispy, the taco still fell open but did not break on the plate. Not a bad taco. The Chile relleno and tamale were tasty but also too hot to eat. The server refilled my water 4 times and asked if it was too hot? I said yes, and she said some days the chilis they use are hotter than others and the longer they sit in the pot, the hotter it gets. Now, I saw plenty of happy people eating, including kids and wondered why I was having an issue. But none the less I could not continue. I finally admitted defeat and had to ordere a cheeseburger. I have never had to do that before. I felt shame. However, I have been to Thailand and eaten extremely hot curry and other dishes. I've accidentally over spiced my own food to where I was coughing. But never was I not able to finish the meal. This was HOT The cheeseburger was super delicious and was a classic cheeseburger with lettuce and tomato and the bun was big and buttery and well toasted. I realize I may have ordered the wrong thing or went on an odd day. But not sure I'd risk going in again. The server said next time to get the sauce on the side, but even the beans without any sauce were spicy . In the pics below you can see how little of the salsa I was able to eat by the time my cheeseburger arrived.

Tynisha M.

Yelp
Their salsa is unbeatable. Anytime I visit NM I make sure to go to Sadie's for chips and salsa! I don't like my salsa chunky so it's perfect consistency for me. This last time I visited I got a chile relleno plate. I hadn't had good chile in awhile so this was the perfect way to scratch that craving! my waiter was very nice. The atmosphere isn't amazing. It's very old and outdated but the food is good!

John P.

Yelp
I have eaten at another Sadies in the past and had a great experience. This visit at this location the service was good and food good but the green chille on the dishes just wasn't the best we have had in New Mexico. Overall, a good dining experience with large portions.

Trina M.

Yelp
The food was served fast and was so delicious. The server is so nice and informative. The restaurant is so beautiful and has several different dining areas. The food was so good and affordable.

Brooke J.

Yelp
The service, the food, the atmosphere...all 10/10! We went on a Friday night and it was certainly busy, but our service was above and beyond and the food was insanely good! I highly recommend this authentic New Mexican spot to anyone who finds themselves in Albuquerque!

Daniel C.

Yelp
Reliable good food and service. Green chili and sopapillas are great. Huge serving best shared.

Joshua H.

Yelp
Great place for dinner in Old Town. Carla the manager is awesome. Super kind and welcoming. The staff are great here as well. My double patty Buffalo burger lettuce wrap was on point. Cooked to a perfect medium. The house wine was also a good pairing for the entree. My wife said her combo plate was about average. Not great but not bad. She has a very high bar for Mexican food mind you. Prices are good, portions large, and service is fast. Neat interior space as well. Building is built in 1785 and has been renovated a few times since with additions added. Said to be haunted by the manger herself. How cool is that!

John D.

Yelp
Our very first exposure to New Mexican was Sadie's. But this is our first time at this location. Walking in I could tell I was going to like this place. The decor gave it an *old* feel. Seated after a short wait, and followed by a visit from our server. Order placed - a lunch combination and the Roberto Special. The combination consisted of a taco in what looked to be a home fried style taco shell. The Chile Rellaño was stuffed with cheese and the meat enchilada also smothered with cheese. The taco was good as was the rellaño - not overly fried. The enchilada was bland. The beef patty used on the Roberto Special was bland but helped by the chile and chili con queso topping. Our server had a significant "blond moment" that brought a lot of laughter. A middle of the road meal served up New Mexican Style - read: a lot of food.

Michaelene K.

Yelp
Sadie's has always been a solid choice for NM food. Their chips and salsa are delicious, the salsa has a nice kick to it. We dove right in and made short work of the basket. Sadie's has a full bar and it's a fun, social place. I usually dine there but we were seated in the restaurant. I was surprised how much the sound did not travel in the space, because it's pretty open but it was easy for me to hear my friend talk and not get drowned out with restaurant noise. We shared a brisket quesadilla. My friend isn't a chile fan so this was a perfect compromise as the quesadilla says it's designed for dipping in chile, which comes on the side. It's served with diced potatoes (pappas) and beans. I'm a little confused by the chile because I asked for green (the last page of the menu highlights that they have a special green chile) and when I asked if it was the same the waiter said something like yes it's in the sauce. It was kind of like a warm salsa with very finely ground beef in it. It is hard to explain. It's not what I was hoping for but I sure did eat every bite! I could have asked for a side of just regular green chile but didn't. Our server was wonderful. He was attentive without being overbearing; a balance I so appreciate when dining and it's a skill! Friendly and just the perfect level of engaging. Sadie's has a gift shop (FYI if you are looking for presents. They have a "The North Valley" shirt that staff wear and it's pretty cool!) that I didn't look at. I assume they sell at least their salsa because it's available in most grocery stores in town (or by the jug at Costco). We needed tortillas, which I was able to buy with dinner in a sealed package and that was just so incredibly convenient! They have a small and large size. The large is quite large! So obviously I like Sadie's. I have never had a bad or even mediocre experience there and I have been going for as long as I can remember. My friend had never been before and he also enjoyed it. There are a lot of New Mexican restaurants to choose from, and many of the old classics have gone downhill. Sadie's remains a solid choice, and I hope to go back soon to check out some classic NM dishes with chile when I am not sharing with a non-chile eater.

Sabrina F.

Yelp
Was in town for the Balloon Fiesta last weekend. Wanted good Mexican and stopped by Sadie's. We ordered cheese dip to go with our chips and salsa. I ordered cheese enchiladas and the BF ordered a beef burrito with spicy beef and covered in red sauce. First, the salsa and cheese dip were both fantastic. I made the mistake of eating some chips and salsa before I got my drink. Wooo it was spicy. Delicious but spicy. Everything was so delicious. The worst thing is I can't have it again until next balloon fiesta. Oh and save room for the sopapillas. Finally, we had Ryder for our server and he was top notch. Can't wait until we go back!!! In the meantime we're planning to order some salsa for home delivery.

Johnny K.

Yelp
Always good food and large portions! The green chile has a nice kick and drinks aren't watered down. Nice attentive service as well.

N L.

Yelp
Great salsa, good ambiance, decent service, and terrible food. Wouldn't eat here again. It was really bad. Red chile was bitter, chicken was dry and inedible, pepitas were soggy and dry at the same time. Salsa was hot and had good flavor.

Raymond G.

Yelp
Celebrated a 66th birthday here, Friday night. There were eight of us, who had a broad array of samplings from the menu. Everyone was happy. I had the appetizer quesadilla with Carne Adovada. This is my go to because I love their adovada. I always order extra red chile on the side because I don't feel it has enough in the quesadilla. I like it wet and wild. The drinks are good. The prices are reasonable. We sat in the inside patio dining room, which was great. We usually sit in the bar when it's the two of us but we enjoyed the inside patio, because this dining room is spacious, comfortable and not too noisy. Service is usually good, but this past Friday, our waiter was I don't know what to say. He was pleasant, but not particularly attentive. I pretty much cleared the the table of the dinner dishes, stacking them in the one corner of the table because we sat for quite some time after we were all finished just chatting and talking without any attention from the waiter. He did, eventually, bring a fried ice cream for the birthday girl, but never offered dessert to the table. As far as I could tell, we were one of five tables so I'm guessing he had his hands full but he seemed to move around the dining room at one speed... Something I would call a swagger. All in all, I was disappointed with the quality of the service, though, as I said, our waiter was not at all unpleasant. Given all of this, we had a great time, and wouldn't hesitate to come back.

Aida P.

Yelp
Salsa was great! Food was bland. Margarita was not very good. Had to ask someone to find our waitress after being seated for 10 minutes. Four of the waitresses were too busy chatting with a local customer near the bar. Will not return.

Michael S.

Yelp
I just didn't get it. This came recommended to us from someone who used to live in ABQ but it didn't measure up to what I'd expect for quality NM food. When I order "Christmas" style enchiladas I expect not to get two red sauces. When we asked to change out the order they said "our green chili sauce just looks very red." While that may be true it's not something I've seen before from Las Cruces to Santa Fe. I'm from upstate New York and the food we received was akin to the garbage plate from Rochester. It was a mess that is the right choice for after a night of heavy drinking to help you sober up. It was a lot of substance with less than amazing flavor. The difference is that a garbage plate is cheap. The venue was very much that of a family style open chain restaurant. Pretty unremarkable with tables fit in as best they could be to leave space for servers and accommodate people. Honestly not much more to say. The silver lining was the chips and salsa and sopasillas. These were both good and come free with the meal. I don't see myself going back but were I to I'd order light and enjoy these items.

Marissa X.

Yelp
RAW Chicken, Rotten Brown guac, missing items! I keep giving Sadie's chances after the service and quality has gone significantly down for the last 12 months. I've been receiving wrong orders pretty much every time. Tonight was the final straw. Not only half of the items missing completely, but the chicken on the chicken salad was cold slimey and as I discovered partially RAW!!! The guac was completely brown. I'm not sure how someone thought that was okay to pack and send out for delivery. Portion sizes are different every single time and the papitas were undercooked but came in a bath of cold grease. Every time I've dealt with the on-shift manager, she has been incredibly rude and unprofessional. Someone please step in and improve what was once many of our favorite Mexican restaurant! Everyone has been talking about how far the quality has fallen. This was the Academy location!

Jesus A.

Yelp
What a terrible way to end the year had a family of 15, 10 adults and 5 kids service was slow only one person ( really ) a regular table top of 15 should have two waiters and one busboy. Food came out cold from sitting in the kitchen went to complain to the manager and she said complain to the waitress have her fix it. Paid $320.00 for bad food and lack of service. I don't recommend this place if you want quality food and good service. I would give it a 1/4 star if it offered it ambience was cold and unwelcoming

Ashley Y.

Yelp
Sadie's is a classic, we had a large unexpected party and they did their best to accommodate us as soon as possible. The environment was friendly and the had the TVs on so we could watch the game. We were tended to quickly, and my lavender moon drink was delicious although it wasn't very strong. For myself I ordered the green chile stew, the waitress said it was extremely hot, so I opted for a cup, but I didn't find it hot at all. It was perfect for me. My guests ordered brisket burritos that were extremely SALTY. He wasn't able to eat it. One thing I will note is that the portion sizes are HUGE so come with your appetite! These are my favorite sopapillas! Fluffy and fresh!

Alex F.

Yelp
Food is good, portion sizes are way too big. Service needs work, ordered 3 menu items only got 2. Especially disappointing since i have to drive 30 minutes across ABQ to get it. They were polite when asking for a refund and got it back to me instantly, Unfortunately though i am a no tolerance kind of person so i don't think i will be visiting Sadie's again anytime soon.

Marty S.

Yelp
I stopped in here to purchase some takeout salsa and chips. My brother had recently purchased some here and the quality was horrible. The salsa that he purchased had tons of stems from the jalapeños throughout the salsa. It just got thrown away. Today the salsa had a great taste and is much better than the jarred version. If you live in Albuquerque or near one of the restaurants it's best to pick up salsa to go. A bit pricey $19 for a quart.

Deborah V.

Yelp
If you are in the area you must stop here! Great food, huge portions and excellent service. This restaurant is always packed but they really hustle. We waited not even 5 minutes on a busy weekend with the balloon festival. We ordered taquitos, 3 tacos and my son ordered the Duke City Dip. Their brisket is amazing. Everything fresh and cooked to order. Our waitress was kind and attentive. We finished with fried ice cream and it was amazing. We will be back the next time we are in town!!

Ryan D.

Yelp
I tried Sadie's for the first time and I was really impressed! First, I have to mention I love the chips and salsa they bring out for the table. The salsa was spicy without being overpowering, and seemed fresh. I got the combination plate with carne adovada, chile relleno, and a tamale topped with Christmas chiles. My favorite of the three was the carne adovada. The meat was so tender and flavorful and went great with the red and green chiles. The Chile relleno was very good too, filled with warm empty cheese and a batter that didn't get soggy even with all the sauce. The tamale was well made too. Our server was great; she was knowledgeable about the menu and was quick to come back to the table if we were in need of a refill or more salsa. The restaurant was clean with plenty of seating. I liked the vibe with lots of old school Albuquerque scenes. Overall I loved my experience at Sadie's and will definitely be coming back.

Yelp
In the words of my colleague who joined me for dinner, "I'm miserable." We so thoroughly enjoyed ourself that my poor friend was physically uncomfortable! We arrived at 5:00 and had to wait about 15 minutes for a table of 5. Which was fine. Chips and water arrived immediately and drinks orders were taken promptly. When drinks came out we ordered our food (and asked an abundance of questions!). I ordered the 3 combo plate - enchilada Chile relleno, and carne adovada. The enchilada seemed like it might have been swapped with a taco but I was still delighted! We feasted and we were pleased!

Yelp
Excellent food and fantastic margaritas! Service was great and the dining room was a bit upscale but still quite comfortable for a casual dinner. Loved their chips and salsa, stacked enchiladas and tamales.

Yelp
This is not a spot for foodies looking for delicate flavors and inventive dishes. Sadie's is for those of us who carry turquoise in our hearts, who know which day it rained tortillas and think green chili might bring world peace. Sadie's is as New Mexico as they come. I never miss a visit to Sadie's when I visit the land of enchantment. The jarred salsa is not the same as what they serve. The table salsa of hot AF and delicious. Oh salsa, I love thee. Don't leave without filling the air bubbles of your piping hot sopapilla with honey. That's what love tastes like.

Yelp
I'm going to be perfectly honest: this review is personal! A few college friends of mine were traveling through Albuquerque. They spent the night. We also went to dinner. Beforehand, I asked my aunt about good new mexican restaurants. My aunt suggested Sadie's, but it turns out she's been out of the loop for a while! Anyway, me and my guests arrive at Sadie's and the experience goes from bad to worse. The wait is bad. The staff is bad. The worst is the ambience. This restaurant was full of loud, crying, out-of-control children. I suppose I'm old school, "children should be seen, and not heard." At least that's how I was raised. Certainly, children should not ruin an adult's meal. There was food all over the floor. I felt like a cow in a cattle-feed. I was so embarrassed in front of my friends. I should mention that both my guests were female and, one of them, in particular, was a young lady that I had my heart set on. I won't claim that this experience completely ruined any romantic opportunity that i had with her, but it certainly didn't help! Anyway, for better new mexican food, and an ambience geared more towards adults, look towards "los padillas" and "los cuates" new mexican restaurants. Otherwise, if you have spoiled, entitled, out-of-control children, they'll be welcomed at Sadie's. Whew! Now that i've got that off my chest, I feel better!

Yelp
I am so glad I was able to try Sadie's as it came highly recommended. Everything was excellent and the staff were super helpful. Everything on the menu looked amazing. 12/10 tamales!

Yelp
Food is nasty and tasteless, they gave us the wrong order three times even after repeatedly telling them exactly what we wanted on our food. Food was undercooked, overcooked and dripping in oil and smothered in a gross amount of cheese. Our waitress was nice but our server who brought out our food just did not listen to anything we asked. Extremely disappointed in the fact that this restaurant is still in business. Will not be returning ever and if you want excellent Mexican food DO NOT come here.

Yelp
Drove from SF to go here. Sopaphilla was flat and soggy (I intentionally came here to eat those!). Service just didn't seem friendly, not rude, but not friendly...kinda robotic. Salsa was good but food was meh. During roadtrip found other places for sopaphillas that were pillowy and warm.
