"Though Korean star chef Paik Jong-won is no stranger to the Korean food scene in Buena Park (he owns Paik’s Noodles in Irvine), Saemaeul brings to life his vision for Korean barbecue. The grillhouse offers multiple different combo options for beef and portions. Yeoltan bulgogi — tender, marinated, thinly sliced pork — is worth adding on a la carte. Don’t forget to pair the meat with the kimchi stew and indulge in the yetnal dosirak, an old-school Korean lunch box that shakes up rice, sausage, egg, kimchi, and stir-fried anchovies." - Cathy Park

I was really excited to try this place because I had an amazing experience at Saemaeul restaurant in Seoul, South Korea. However, this location didn’t quite live up to the original. While the kimchi jjigae was delicious and flavorful, the meat was disappointing and didn’t meet my expectations.

Karen Liao

Google
We ordered the small mixed combo which was just the perfect amount for our family of 4 because we also ordered the lunch box, steamed egg, and cold noodles. The meats were all high quality, and my favorite part is that they cook it for you at the table. It never tastes as good when we do it ourselves.

Google
I had an absolutely fantastic dining experience at the Korean BBQ restaurant! From the moment we walked in, the warm and inviting ambiance set the perfect mood. The staff were attentive and friendly, making us feel right at home. The highlight, of course, was the food. The selection of marinated meats was incredible, and grilling them at the table was a fun and interactive experience. Each bite was bursting with mouthwatering flavors, perfectly complemented by the various side dishes and dipping sauces provided. The quality of the ingredients was top-notch, and the portions were generous. The metal box is a must try. Overall experience is great! Will be back again!

Google
I had an incredible dining experience at Saemaul Restaurant in Buena Park. The Korean BBQ concept, where they cook meats right in front of you, adds a delightful touch to the meal. The selection of meats was impressively fresh and of top-notch quality, making each bite truly enjoyable. The kimchi stew was a highlight - bursting with flavor and authenticity. Our server today was exceptional, providing attentive and friendly service throughout our meal. Overall, it was a fantastic dining experience, and I highly recommend Saemaul Restaurant for anyone craving delicious Korean cuisine.

Google
The useful spot across the street closed down. Found this place with pretty good rating on Google maps. Aren't we glad we got there early. By the time we sat down, a wave of crowd was already lining up. We tried the BBQ combo beef/pork with a side order of seafood green scallion pancake. The beef tongues were so tender and thick cut. Server's on site cooking skill was on point, just right! The pork belly was tasty with the mixed greens. Overall, great new discovery for us. Will come back again. Awesome vibe too!

Google
Came in on Sunday night about an hour before they closed. The servers were fantastic and cooked the meet for us perfectly. All the starters/ appetizers were delicious. One of our friends suggested putting sesame oil on the salt for dipping that was a nice touch. Come hungry, it’s a lot of food, and a nice quality.

Google
This place is a notch up in service and experience I’ve had in Korean bbq spots. They change the grills after every meat they cook for you. 👍 The egg and cheese soufflé is dense and good. And the seafood pancake is 🔥!!!!

Google
Better quality meat with it being not AYCE, great side dishes and nice friendly service, you barely have to grill yourself (almost a negative for me, but most people like that). Nice decor, nice little touches like a metal can for water to keep it ice cold. 4.3 seems a bit low.

Yelp
Food Family and I came here after finding out this was Paik's restaurant(a judge from Culinary Class Wars). We've had our fair share of kbbq and this place really stood out on top for me. It's not an unlimited kbbq place, so we ordered the XL beef Special combo for our party of 6 and a green onion pancake. I believe that it was just the right portion for us wherein we were stuffed but not too full. The quality of the meat was top notch and we got pretty thick cuts and one of the servers cooked the meat for us. The green onion pancake was a fluffy pancake that just melted in my mouth accompanied by flavorful sauces. Overall, it's a bit more a premium place to go to but pretty worth it in my opinion. Service/Ambiance On Saturday lunch, we were surprised that there were barely any people inside. The vibe of the place was a bit more of an upscale casual kbbq place. The staff were nice and cooked the meat for us in our special combo.

Rachelle L.

Yelp
Came to Saemaeul for dinner and absolutely loved the experience! I always prefer KBBQ that isn't AYCE and the small beef combo was perfect for 3 of us, we even had leftover to take home. I really appreciate that non of the meats were marinated compared to similar KBBQ restaurant combos. The service was amazing and our waiter cooked our beef to perfection, changing out the grill after every type. We came on the early side and didn't have to wait, but the restaurant started getting busy closer to 6! I regret not getting the cheesy steamed egg and will definitely be back again to try it. Food: 5/5 Price: 4.5/5 Service: 5/5 Ambience: 4/5

Yelp
It is a typical Korean BBQ decorations inside. They have big party rooms available for dinner only. ( yes we asked one time when we were there for a Sunday lunch with a big group) We came here many times , including the celebration for my husband's 50th birthday. Food is always great and service is usually fast. If you like KBBQ, this is the place to be at. They cook for you right the perfect meat!

Pam L.

Yelp
Saemaeul is a kbbq opened by Korean celebrity chef Paik Jong Won. I was excited to visit this place since watching him on Culinary class wars on Netflix. The food was really good and the meat was great quality. What stood out the most to me was the exceptional service. The waiters changed our grill after each meat cooked and we never had a smoking grill just sitting there for very long. They were super nice and even when it was busy they were super attentive. We went on a weekday so it wasn't too busy but I hear on weekends it's super busy

Timothy T.

Yelp
Of course we had to visit after watching Culinary Class Wars on Netflix! The restaurant is located off Beach Blvd in Buena Park, where a number of other well-established Korean restaurants are located. The place was quite empty on a Wednesday night for dinner but service was really good. All the servers were very attentive, seriously like a hawk watching your every move (and plate). Dishes came out quick and the servers assisted in cooking your meats. Overall, I thought the quality and items were relatively similar to other 'higher-end' Korean BBQ spots in the area. My group thought it was a little better, but not by much. I'd say my favorite items were the Yeoltan Bulgogi (which you can also get $0.01 soju if ordered) and the Rice Balls. The restroom is a bit run down. Things are kind of rusty and moldy. I don't know how effective the ventilation is since there were times when each table had plumes of smoke. The vents didnt seem to work too well.

Yelp
I could go lengthy into this restaurant, but a lot of what I'll mention will be easily experienced just by coming in yourself. Saemaeul is a Korean BBQ restaurant with some of the highest quality meats you can desire. Before even walking in you might notice the people who come here: they're almost all Korean. Just from the clientele you can tell this is going to be authentic AF. The staff are very kind. Obviously, if you speak Korean it'll be easier to order, but they do speak English and they are helpful. Because this is more traditional Korean BBQ and not an AYCE they will be cooking the meat for you, perfect for anyone who doesn't want to cook their own food. This means you benefit from their expertise and everything will be cooked perfectly for you to enjoy without the stress. The food is incredible in quality. For Korean cuisine it isn't just about the main dishes that make a meal. It also involves the quality of the side dishes and the ban chan here is incredibly fresh and vibrant in flavors. Saemaeul serves one of the best 된장찌개 I've had in America. A lot of places this fermented bean soup is either too watery or too salty, but here it is perfect and accentuates all the adjacent flavors. The meat is high quality with a butcher in the kitchen actually cutting the meats presented to you. Just writing this is making my mouth water. The price will be a bit higher. We got a beef combo that costs $138 but it was meant for 3 people so it made sense. Not to mention the quality is worth that much. Considering the high quality ingredients, the stress free eating experience, and an ambiance that would easily fit in any big city in South Korea Saemaeul is a perfect place to eat Korean BBQ where you'll leave not only full, but satisfied.

Yelp
It was my husband's birthday lunch with the family and all 7 of us were very satisfied with the service, ambiance and food as usual. It was over 1pm on Sunday, there weren't any parking spot and the restaurant was busy but it felt everything was in control and calm, which was so nice. We were seated and served immediately. Unfortunately, we only had one grill but we didn't feel any inconvenience due to our server being with us the whole time not only serving the food but also cooking the meat. He worked really hard and never lost his smile. We ordered two large beef special, two pork dishes, two cheese egg bombs, rice and cold noodles, which was plenty. This place will always have a special place in my heart and be my #1 Korean BBQ place.

Ramonna B.

Yelp
This was my first time trying to location with my friend. We went here for my brother's birthday. It was 7pm on a Monday evening. It wasn't busy and we were seating right away. When we were first escorted to our table, we thought the table and grill was pretty small for a table of 6 people. It felt like everything was crammed onto the table. We ordered the large order of the beef special. We ended up ordering extra brisket, beef tongue, and boneless short rib. We were very full at the end! Some of the meat quality was very good, and others were just okay. Service was good! All of the servers continuously checked in on us, and they changed the grill regularly. I thought they cooked the food really fast though. I felt a little rushed at some points. I'm not sure the price matches the quality of the meat.

Mandi T.

Yelp
After a messy altercation with Xfish, we decided on dinner here. The service was awesome, shout out to William who turned our night around. He was patient and helpful, super attentive. We ordered the beef combo (L), dot soot bibimpap, and mango makoli. Everything was delicious, and cooked well, we are happy campers. My fave was the short rib and marinated meat. Parking can be a challenge tho. Ever since X fish opened, the parking lot is super full.

Jessica Y.

Yelp
Stopped by here in a Saturday around 4:45pm. We just came before the dinner rush, as the line quickly became long with families after us. Originally came for X Fish but we didn't pre add ourselves to the yelp waitlist which was almost 2 hours. For two people we got the beef set for 2. The servicer saved us a lot of wasted money when we almost ordered the set for 4+ people (make sure you pick the right size for your party). The meats were delicious, and well portioned. They were cooking the meat quite fast so I did feel a little pressured to eat quickly. I like my meat (pretty crispy) so because of the pace we were being served I couldn't get that. The banchan was yummy as well. They continuously filled our rice paper refills because we went through over 4 lol. I do wish they had potato salad, fish cake and corn included though. Interior was spacious bright and clean. Was giving modern traditional Korean. Food: 4/5 Service: 4.5/5 Ambience: 4.5/5

Max S.

Yelp
Another Korean bbq. I'm giving it 4 stars because of the consistently great service. Staff cooked the meat and changed the grill multiple times. I was a part of a large group of 13. No reservations, but we were seated fairly quickly. The restaurant is not set up for large groups, so we were split up into 3 small round tables. It's a lot of food. The side dishes are a little bit on the boring side, so I mostly stuck to the salad. The meat was okay.

Scott S.

Yelp
If you are looking for a truly unique experience, while enjoying Korean cuisine food, this is the restaurant for you. I will start out by saying that what this restaurant does is that it brings all the various meats, pork, vegetables, salads, and all that good stuff that is brought to your table in any good Korean restaurant, but instead of cooking your meat yourself, they do it for you. Making for a truly great experience. They have a large staff here. So, every table is very well watched over and taken care of. Thus, you never have to worry about whether your meats are going to be overcooked or under cooked or anything like that. The staff is very attentive and well-versed at what they do. That do a great job! This is medium sized restaurant that is very well designed. The tables are all well spaced so you can really enjoy your meal without feeling crowded. This restaurant has all of the food and drink you would expect from a modern restaurant focusing on Korean cuisine. Mostly, the staff here is great at their jobs. Great place to eat!

Brenda N.

Yelp
I came here on a weekday and the restaurant was pretty busy but we were lucky to be seated quickly. We decided to try our the beef special combo with a side of KimchiJjigae and lunch box and all the food came out amazing. I was worried if the food would be enough for 2 people, but it was perfect. The meat was high quality and because the attentive staff was helping us cook, everything came out amazing and delicious. The meal was even better with a mango Makgeolli which felt like it was made with real mango or something because it was soooo good. I felt like the ventilation was also very good ! I would definitely come again !!

Andrew K.

Yelp
The meat is so dang good here. The server cooks at your table and is readily available when you need more banchan. The rice is free, unlike most restaurants nowadays. This is my new favorite Kbbq spot, hands down.

Sam G.

Yelp
Baekjong's line was too long so I opted for this place. I had high expectations for this restaurant due to the owner's appearance on a Netflix show, but unfortunately, the experience fell short. Most of the side dishes had an overly sour taste, and the kimchi soup resembled a strong rice vinegar flavor, which was not to my liking. Even the dipping sauce was sour, I don't know how they can messed up the sauce. The meat quality was also disappointing and it lacked tenderness and didn't seem fresh, even though it was cooked to medium rare. Service was great and fast. The price did not justify the quality. I felt the experience didn't justify the hype.

Eddie T.

Yelp
ITS THE CUSTOMER SERVICE FOR ME!!! We walked in and it on a Wednesday I think, and it was pretty nice on the inside. I love the statues in the front, it gives it a cute vibe. I am not sure what we got on the menu as our director ordered, but i love how they come and cut it up and somewhat cook it for you. It is super duper fancy and I would love to do it again!! I enjoyed all the meats, the cucumbers and the soup that comes in the beginning. I am sorry I dont know all the names, but if we had to go back, I WOULD GO TODAY!!! FOOD IS AWESOME AND STAFF IS GREAT!!

Jin K.

Yelp
Food : Quality of the meat is very low. The pork jowl which costs 20+ did not have any taste. We ordered combo and both beef and pork did not taste good. Service : was okay. Servers were friendly and nice We were guided to the inside room, but the room was just full of smoke and A/C was way too cold, blasting right to our faces and food, making all our food cold. It seemed like their giant vents don't even work. Overall, not worth your money. I recommend going somewhere else.

Angela W.

Yelp
It's a casual kbbq spot with pretty good quality meats and decent service - we got a beef combo for two and it was around $80. They come and cook the meats for you, so there isn't any work involved on your part. And they swap out the grill quite often, which is a plus.

Nico C.

Yelp
Really great good with amazing service. We came in on a Tuesday afternoon and there wasnt a lot of people there. Our server Seungmin was fast and super attentive if we needed anything. The meats were great and the other dishes were all seasoned very well. I would definitely come here again in the future.

Emily C.

Yelp
This has been our go to place for Korean bbq lately because the meat quality is good and you get what you pay for. We haven't had to wait normally, but the parking in this area is hard because X-fish Izakaya is next to it and there are also a lot of restaurants in the same plaza. My favorite thing about this place is that you get a hot bowl of seaweed soup once you order and you can ask for more. The banchan here isn't that special however compared to other places. It's just your basic ones. If the banchan was better, I would give it 5 stars. Their seafood pancake is more eggy than crispy and we tried it a few times but I don't think we'll order it again. We always get the beef combo and their short rib is really good quality. The air quality inside isn't good because it's bbq so we try to go earlier in the day before it gets even smokier. I wish they would improve the ventilation more. Service is usually good, but there was once when the waiter lagged because they were so busy and our meat was a little burnt.

Amy L.

Yelp
Came with a group of 5 and we got seated in the back room. That room has a table that can fit 14 people and also has 4 tables of 6. So if you have an extra large group. They can accommodate. Service was amazing. They cook everything for you and when you need them, they come right away. Only down side is the grill is at the corner so your friends will have to pass you the meats. Soju here is probably the cheapest at $10 each compared to any other place that sells it for $16. 5/5 They give you seaweed soup as a banchan. We ordered the large beef set. I was not a fan of the brisket. Not sure if we went on a bad day, but it was super dry and had no flavor. 2/5 The 2nd and 3rd meat that came out was alot better 3.5/5 We also got 2 steamed eggs and seafood pancake. The egg comes with cheese and corn. But if we had known that the seafood pancake was made wit alot of eggs we would've just gotten 1 steam egg. I never had eggy seafood pancake before but it was good and crispy. Can't go wrong with eggs. 4.5/5 Also got a pork belly to try and it feels like we should've got the pork combo instead. Next time I will try the pork combo.

Janet K.

Yelp
I can't remember leaving this place regretting it. Something has definitely changed. The food quality and the service was so bad that for sure I'm not coming back. For Saturday dinner time it was pretty not packed and for sure not busy. It's spacious but for sure it wasn't as clean as I remember this place. For the price, food quality and service I say skip this spot. There's so many great Korean bbq that for sure you'll love. Save your money and your stomach for a quality bbq somewhere else. You're welcome

Troy B.

Yelp
There is no shortage of good KBBQ in OC but this might just be one of my favorite spots. Came here on a Sunday evening for dinner, and it wasn't too crowded but just lively enough. I dined with two others got the Beef Combo with an order of the Yeoltan Bulgogi, which is like their specialty pork bulgogi. We also got the Yetnal Dosirak, another one of their must-order dishes. I absolutely LOVED this and really think this is what sets Saemaeul apart from other KBBQ spots. The lunch box is a nod to oldschool Korean lunch boxes and is rice and banchans shaken up in a box. So so good. As for the meat, every single item was delicious. The combos are definitely the way to go. From the Beef Combo, my favorite cut was the Kkotsal (short rib) but the Chadolbaegi (brisket) was a close second. I'd also highly recommend adding an order of the Yeoltan Bulgogi if you want another cut to try. This was so flavorful, tender, and the perfect cut of meat to end the meal on. Sides like the Steamed Egg (the cheese!!) and the Kimchi and Soybean Stews were also great, and made for such a great overall meal. Service was fantastic throughout, and they really cooked the meat so well for us. Definitely a spot I think I'll be back to!

Hoonie K.

Yelp
A group of 6 of us had lunch here last Friday. The ambience is nice, fashioned after old-school Korean restaurant. The service was good. For a party of 6, they seated us at the largest table they had available (which only had one cooking surface which is not typical for a table of this size). They don't have any larger tables, so if you have more than 6 in your group, they have to separate you into separate tables. We had the large beef combo, and added an extra order of the boneless short rib. Overall, the meats were good (not great). I thought all the meats were pretty bland. Boneless shortrib (3.5/5), Sirloin (3.5/5), brisket (3.5/5) and marinated boneless shortrib (3.5). The combo came with a side of soybean paste stew (very good - 4.5/5). The accompanying banchans were a bit less varied than you get at other Korean BBQ restaurants. The restaurant deserves a 3.5/5. Rounding down as there are so many better options to have.

Vy D.

Yelp
Discovered another great Korean BBQ restaurant makes me so happy! Come with me. Highlights of the menu: 1. Doshirak - shaken rice 2. Steamed egg 3. Seaweed soup 4. Useol - beef tongue Beef special combo: 5. Kkotsal - prime short rib center 6. Sogalbisal - beef finger rib 7. Chadolbagi - cab beef brisket 8. Combo kimchi jjigae They grill the meat for customers which is amazing service. Casual ambiance.

Hannah N.

Yelp
Great kbbq spot, good pork and beef combo selection. The workers cook and cut the meat for you. The banchan is pretty good, but it was missing a couple of typical dishes like the fish cake strips. There were 4 of us at a circular table, and even then, our table was pretty full of dishes. I like their steamed egg a lot! We went right before 5pm, so it was only about half full. One issue I had was the air vent because from where I was sitting, the air from outside would blow the smoke in my face. The vent wasn't close to the grill, so it was ineffective whenever someone opened the doors. My friends didn't have that issue from where they were sitting. Other than that, I'd come here again!

John H.

Yelp
My co-workers/friends and I were craving kbbq so we decided to come to saemaeul in Buena park. I chose this place because I do not like cooking my own food; I'm one of those who wants to sit down and enjoy myself while the staff cooks the food for you. Now, this is not AYCE place; they have certain sets menu, which i love. we got their famous little lunch bento box where you have to shake the box in order for the food to get mixed real good. pretty much it's a little bimbimbap in a box.. The staff here is very welcoming and friendly. I'm guessing that it gets busy during dinner, we came here for early lunch. I wouldn't mind coming back here again

Victoria N.

Yelp
FOOD IG: @northtx.gemz **** WHAT THEY'RE KNOWN FOR: a fancy version of Korean bbq that is SO worth it. Created by celebrity chef Jong Won Paik. Portions are huge and tbh it's not that much more expensive than a typical AYCE Korean bbq. Rice cakes and japchae THE VIBE: pretty intimate, would recommend a group of less than 4 only because I'm not sure how they would have the vents work with pushing tables together. PRICE: gifted WOULD I COME BACK? Yes!!! **** Overall Rating: 12/10 - Yes, this is probably my highest rating on a restaurant yet!!! The food was THAT good. The quality of the meat, the servers were so sweet and attentive, and just the quality of the side dishes too blew me out of the water. - The beef finger meat was the only thing that was marinated in a little bit of sauce but the other meats were such good quality they were left on their own and you can dip it in their sauces or add a sprinkle of flaky salt. I was obsessed with the beef quality. - The japchae has so many high quality ingredients which you could tell by the mushrooms and I believe really thinly sliced egg on top. This was the best japchae I've ever had. There's so much detail that goes into their food. - The amount of food we got was probably good for 3-4 people because of the Tteokbokki. It was a huge portion and everything about this was perfectly. It had two eggs and was perfectly spicy and slightly sweet. - I can't stop raving about this place it truly was a great experience.

Forest L.

Yelp
Cold noodle n 7 minutes kimchi stew not recommended. When I first eat, thought "WHAT THE...." Also some pice of plastic in the rice. Asked what is this? No answer No sorry hmmmmmm Finally no charged.

Sammie -.

Yelp
English speaking staff. They cook the meat for you. They actually check to see if youre doing okay and if you are missing any sides that need a refill. Required to have a order for each person.

Christopher C.

Yelp
I came here for lunch on the weekend and got really lucky with a parking space. It's shared between X-fish, so parking might be a challenge. I was actually on the waitlist for X-Fish but came here instead because their wait was way too long. Saemaeul didn't have a line and I was seated right away. We got the small pork+beef combination and it was great! Meal started off with complimentary seaweed soup which was nice. Meats were great quality and fresh. I think the portions here are a bit smaller in comparison to other kbbq spots in my opinion, but it was perfect content for us. The downside is that the combination doesn't include a steamed egg! Service is pretty quick and attentive. When I came it wasn't too loud either, which was nice. I'll probably return to this place when I get the chance to try their Yeoltan meats.

Lucia L.

Yelp
Hey @saemaeul.us , nice to MEAT you! If you've been looking for the MOST AUTHENTIC Korean BBQ, you definitely have to check them out! @saemaeul.us is a KBBQ chain owned by Korean celebrity chef Paik Jong Won (who's basically the Korean equivalent of Gordon Ramsay), and they're known for his signature dishes such as yeoltan bulgogi and pork kimchi. I was impressed with how quick and efficient their table side service was- the waiters literally have their cooking times and check-in's down to a science, and you'll definitely never have a shortage of freshly cooked meat. Equally impressive was their selection of meats and side dishes- my favorites were the beef special combo (which comes with kkotsal, sogalbisal, and Chadolbagi), kimchi jjigae, and dosirak (lunch box with rice, kimchi, anchovies, spam and fried egg). If you're in the Buena Park area and craving KBBQ, this would definitely be my pick for higher end + incredibly authentic KBBQ spot to check out! Featured here: beef special combo steamed egg kimchi jjigae dosirak

Jharvis L.

Yelp
Service and offerings here are substandard. I asked for iced green tea, and they only have hot green tea. I take it that this place doesn't have ice. The offerings for the sides are lacking. The staff here cuts and cooks the meat for you, but near the end we had to ask our person to come back. We were willing to cook ourselves, but they set the expectation. Near the end of our stay, person was gone for about 10-15 minutes, and we had to flag him down. I'll acknowledge that it was busy, but looking around, other tables looked like they experienced more consistency. Lastly, while cooking the last set of meat, we asked our person for more rice paper. He left, came back finished cooking the meat, said we were good to go, and left. There was no interest at this point to repeat asking him for the rice paper, and we ended up eating the meat with our salad. There's a reason King Chang is ranked higher with an average 4.8 score. We wanted to try this place for something different, but it fell way short. King Chang offers more variety in terms of its sides as well. We had the combo package which was two beef and two pork. The pork belly and one of the beef were okay. The other two were average. This place isn't even worth a second shot in my estimation, and we'll be going back to King Chang to make up for the experience. Hard pass on this spot.

Linda N.

Yelp
Food was ok and We ordered pork skin came out super spicy and tasted like MSG . Am I coming back here ?!!! Absolutely no . Nothing special here for sure !!

Aaron P.

Yelp
They close at 10 PM but turn people away at 8:49PM. Extremely unprofessional. We drove 40 minutes. The owner should deal with his staff or close at 9PM Instead of close at 10PM and turn people away at 8:49PM. That said, we called KING CHANG across the street, they had a table ready for us the food was excellent and most importantly they're staff was extremely professional. Goes to show, employess can make a business or kill a business.

Cindy T.

Yelp
Came here last Saturday with my bf and we waited for about 30 minutes to get a table. The parking is very difficult, but it's nice that they have benches for you to wait at. We got the small beef combo and I thought it was pretty good but nothing outstanding. I also thought some of the meats were kind of dry. My favorite was the short rib. However, the steamed egg here is definitely the star of the show. It was very unique and I always crave it!

Yelp
10/10 customer service! the servers consistently checked up on us and would ask if we needed anything. the meats were cooked very well. i ordered the beef combo & wasn't a fan of the brisket and beef finger meat. both the banchan and steamed egg were just okay. my favorite side was probably the seaweed soup they served. would not come back here since there's better options.

Yelp
I tried the beef combo for the first time! With the mixed rice where they shake for you! Everything was delicious but the music was a little too loud for me! Service was quick and fast!

Yelp
My first time here trying their beef special combo was a really good experience! The meat quality is very good, and the waiters will help you cook everything. I also really like their cheese steamed eggs, which isn't commonly found in other KBBQ restaurant. It's like a combination of corn cheese and steamed eggs in one dish (so good)!!

Yelp
Worth your time & money. Perfect amount of serving. The dude who was serving us was the best! I think he was the only server there & there were 3 other parties eating. He even cooked for us . I'm sorry we didn't get your name. The beef was so tender & yummy & satisfied our kbbq cravings! BUT THE STEAMED EGG WITH CHEESE WAS THE STAR OF THE SHOW OOOO SO GOOD!! Literally I would come back here just for that. The complimentary seaweed soup was very warm & homey. Oh the rice is unli & free!!

Yelp
Quality of the meats here are spectacular and definitely worth a visit! What prompted my visit though was their unique steamed egg with cheese which was pretty solid. Their menu is a la carte and they have combo options available. My party of 2 came on a Saturday late afternoon and there was no wait with plenty of tables available. We ordered the small beef combo and the steamed egg with cheese. The beef combo comes with brisket, rib fingers, beef short rib, and a choice of kimchi or soybean stew which we chose kimchi. All 3 meats were of great quality and only got better as we ate. The brisket was good, the rib fingers were great, and the beef short ribs were spectacular all with just a dab of salt. The waiters cooked for us, but the only issue was that we felt a bit rushed in eating since the next meat was cooked right after the previous one was cooked and pushed to the side. The grill was changed between every meat though which was nice. The steamed egg with cheese has corn cheese mixed with the steamed egg and topped with a layer of mozzarella cheese and cheddar. I'm a huge fan of melted cheese so this was heavenly to me. However, the steamed egg itself wasn't that great since i felt it was too dense and not as fluffed as I liked. Overall I enjoyed my meal here and found the price to be quite reasonable for the quality you get. It is on par with more of an upscale restaurant like Baekjeong and I think their cheesy steamed egg was worth trying. Quality of the food and service of the staff were great.

Yelp
Quality of meat is below average for the high price you pay for. The meat was not tender and extremely chewy. What's sad is that you can get Ayce for better quality meats than this place. If the high price delivered with the quality I would not have any issues but this place was not it.

Yelp
I celebrated chuseok in 2023 here! apparently is a well known restaurant in Korea. the service is good and meat was good too. my favorite part of the meal tho was actually the pa-muchim. I'm not in Buena Park often but I look forward to coming back here someday!

Yelp
Ok so the food here looked and tasted great. Location has decent parking and the service was excellent. The waiters had out dishes cooked as we ate and the kimchi was good. There was one salad that looked really old so we didn't touch it. Why the 2 stars? Because I've never had such an upset stomach after eating something before. I don't know what it was but I would not recommend because of how immediate my body reacted to this food. Not even AYCE makes my stomach upset the way this food did so unfortunately won't be coming back.

Yelp
We got the special mix combo with the combo kimchi Jjigae and all the meat was very good and high quality! It was nice that there was people that cooked for us but i definitely felt a little rushed while eating. All the sides were yummy! Although the steamed egg was mid because the egg was dry. It was a good portion size and the service was really quick! My favorite was Yangnyeom Kkotsal meat but all of the meat was great

Yelp
Overall a very good KBBQ place. It is not AYCE and on the pricier side, but for four people we ordered a Small Beef Combo with a pork belly and steamed egg and it was just enough. They also cook for you here, which is nice. The best meet was the kkotsal. It was so tender, flavorful, and melted in your mouth. T_T. The steamed egg was something different and I liked that it had cheese and corn. But it was suuuper overcooked and on the firmer side. I don't think I have had one this cooked before and would rather have it soft. Service was overall fine but when the server came out with our tofu soup it was dripping all over the grill but he did not seem to notice and just asked if we wanted rice. We told him, the soup is spilling, but he ignored us and asked again if we wanted rice as it continued to spill. Didn't place it down until we said No Rice. So we did lose some soup there :/ .

Yelp
went here for father's day and it honestly blew us away. the meats were incredibly good and tender. we got their seafood pancake as well and it was so good and a huge portion as well!!! 6 people came out to be $175 which is not bad at all! meat was amazing and our server was on top of his game!! he was making sure we never ran out of side dishes and made sure we felt at home. he was amazing i felt so bad because he was sweating so badly, but nonetheless it was so good! will come back :)

Yelp
I came here a few weeks ago with two friends. When we got there, they said there would be a 40 min wait, but it was actually 20 min. We ordered the small beef combo which came with 3 meats - short rib, finger rib, and beef belly. It also came with a soup - kimchi or soybean paste. We picked the kimchi soup which tasted like normal kimchi soup. Like always, it came with a lot of side dishes. We didn't ask for any refills except for the rice paper. I notice that whenever I get Korean bbq, they always put a little bit of rice paper and when you ask for more they give a lot more. We also ordered the steamed egg with cheese. The reviews said it was not smooth and they were very accurate. I liked the cheese in the steamed egg, but it wasn't creamy enough. We were done with our food including waiting time in an hour, so it's pretty fast. The servers cooked the food for us.

Yelp
We were invited to try out this very delicious Korean bbq spot that is of the OG spots in Buena Park. You know it's good when it was super packed on a Tuesday night! We got the small beef combo for two people with kimchi soup and the steamed egg. Please get the cheese on your steamed egg, it is definitely a game changer. The service was attentive and they cook all the meats to perfection. I definitely can't wait to come back!
