The store itself is nice I frequent it every now and then. They will have some good sales. Periodically although I find safe way to be quite pricey when it comes to organic vegetables otherwise they do have most mainstream items that you'll be looking for.

“I visited a Safeway in Hayward, California. It’s a huge store—nice and clean. I ordered a warm fruit, and the process was very quick. The food was okay, not bad. The associate who assisted me was very helpful, nice, and respectful. She did a great job, and I gave her a shout-out for her excellent service.”

Google
Went back regretting it every second. The guy in self checkout on this day completely rude and not wanting to help. I waited for over 5mins until another associate I knew that works here ended up asking her. Wish the guy in self checkout could've just called the manager like I asked but instead he called for a department that had already left. Not sure why this location has so many issues with people not wanting to work that's literally what they're paid for not to treat people like they're a bother for asking for help. I would give this store 0 stars I'm thinking maybe management is the issue in location tbh!! Do better Safeway!!!

Google
The only reason for 2 stars is the store is clean. The check out was beyond horrible. I was buying beer, so in California you can't go to the self checkout. They only had one standard line open, which isn't a big deal. But the cashier was inept to say the least. Not only was she slow, she couldn't operate the barcode scanner. She was removing the produce from the bags and inputting the code manually. And yes, the code reader worked fine for the other items. She would scan 2 or 3 items then stop to put them in a bag. Her pace was like a disgruntled employee that was angry and didn't even want to be there. I was in line for approximately 23 minutes. I know this because I received a call while in line and I checked the time when I hung up and got to the cashier. There were only 2 people in front of me. But by the time I arrived at the cashier there was 7 people behind me. You would think that they would open up another line but that didn't happen.

I placed an order for a birthday cake to be picked up today at 3pm, during my break. When I arrived at the bakery, there was no one there. I called for help multiple times, I even asked another department to call for assistance twice. After waiting 20 mins, someone finally showed up. I spent another 10 mins with this gentleman while he searched for my cake, the box to put in, and find a working register to ring me up. Not only was the cake disappointing in appearance, the colors I asked for were completely off. The writing was unacceptable as well. I explained to the person on the phone that the cake was for a 25th birthday, yet this cake looks like it was made for a child. I will NEVER order from this bakery again! Definitely not worth my time, or the price I paid! Also… the deli never has the French rolls for sandwiches. Every time I go for my lunch, I have to get my sandwich meat on flat white bread.

Nyo M.

Google
This location is improving with having items in stock. A lot of times I've gone in or ordered on Ubereats and items will be out of stock according to the shopper. Today I was able to pick up everything I needed, no items were out of stock.

Nice shopping experience. Large layout clean and easy to navigate

Google
I went to the Deli to get some ham. There was 1 person making sandwiches and had a line of 3 people. I was on the side where u get ure ham or turkey cut. I seen a hispanic employee with glasses walking around I think training someone. He didnt make eye contact or asked if I needed help. I said excuse me. I got ignored because the person he was training told him I had a question. I just wanted to know if they had what I wanted was in the back because it was not displayed. I wanted to know if I should wate until the 3 people in line for the sandwich was worth it or not. Worst customer service. Its always no eye contact with the deli people or wate for at least 10minutes or more

Yelp
Moldy pizzas, spider webs where food is stored and a super dirty deli with numerous flies flying around the "FRESH" bread how is this location open PISSED OFF is a understatement of how disgusted i was and even more irritated that i wasted my time driving to this location

Yelp
Mid January Safeway never fails great selection of frozen Shrimp, Produce Green Onions, Perfect Firm Eggplants, Snow Peas, Cilantro, Lemon Grass Paste, Thai Chili's, Organic Mini Peppers, nice size on the Kale. Displays were on point. Observed a Senior employee coaching new team members, nice to see core values being taught. Scored on finding eggs, pricey better to have then not have. Bakery always looks good at Jackson. Dairy Lucerne Ricotta if you haven't tried it your missing out, it's better then national labels. Store is a little dated, my favorite is Decoto it's larger, then Foothill.

Yelp
I got some flowers the very next day flowers were dead , called customer service and they told me to do a refund or exchange, went to the store they denied the exchange or refund , waste of time and money

Yelp
One of the oldest Safeway's around. By old I mean in need of a facelift. Went in today. This isn't my normal Safeway. And its been a while since I've seen this style of store. Usually I'm more used to the trendy floors and upscale overall look. Everything here is from 20 or 30 years ago. Lots of security here. That is the first thing you notice as you walk in. Most all Safeways are like that now no matter the neighborhood. Overall it isn't a pleasant experience. I don't ever look forward to grocery shopping and don't ever look forward to going to Safeway. Too many crazy coupons and you have to use the store app in order to get any kind of deal. You could spend lots and lots of time planning your shopping and coupons. Unless you have a large family I don't think its worth it. Time is money and even looking through those ads - the time invested into this place starts increasing. Tic Tok. Usually for me the quickest thing is to go to TJs. Save so much time since the footprint of the store is smaller and there is never a wait at the register. Furthermore no copons to find (costs time) and no weekly ads to read (takes more time). I came here to buy some vegetables. Thats my new years resolution. "Eat more vegetables." More vegetables I did buy. And they were great deals. Cabbage was a steal and the house brand O organics had a special deal too. After many visits to my local post office I finally got these Safeway ads to stop stuffing up my mailbox. I really don't like that. But I still get the emails and IDK its such a frustrating headache this store.

Emiliano H.

Yelp
Worst experience I've ever had with Safeway. I came in at 11:00 hoping to buy a Roblox gift card for $25 when I arrived at self checkout out Christofer was the worker working at self checkout and help me purchase my gift card and did not tell me that gift cards sold past 11:00 pm would not put the funds on the card. I was not aware of this and subsequently I had no clue what was happening when I tried to redeem it. I called them and told them what had happened and they explained to me that all sales were final and no refunds even tho I was not the one at fault. They need to train their employees better because i am sure Christofer was not know if this very bad service and costumer service!

Ronald S.

Yelp
Special thanks to Antonio at Self Checkout. Outstanding customer service. So pleased.

Yelp
I come to this Safeway when I want to buy organic vegetables mainly but I went in today to get some seasoned wings and they didn't have any. Luckily David helped me out when the butcher was out to lunch and opened up a wing packet and prepped it for me without hesitation even after I mentioned I needed two of them. He works in the meat department and also still checked if they had Twister juice in the back for me as well! Great customer service! Keep up the great work sir!

B Y.

Yelp
This is the grocery store closest to my house and I avoid coming here, if I can. It is one of the sorriest Safeways I have ever set foot in. Run down, dated, poor customer service (special shoutout to mean Jerline, who gives me attitude every time I ask her a question - like duh if I knew the answer, I wouldn't be asking you). But, it is close, and has a lot of the basics I need for cooking. Not as well stocked as some of the other Safeways in the area.

Ally R.

Yelp
The manager is so rude here. I've gone to the other Safeway on foothill and seen employees that used to work here move over there bc of the manager. She seems like she never wants to be bothered. I've had to talk to her on several occasions and it's always the same attitude every time. Her staff has even said she's a horrible manager bc she comes to work when she wants and works when she's at the store when she wants. And they say she's never happy. The store is almost never stocked and the price tags that are expired are still on the shelves. I hate coming here but it's more convenient bc it's closer to my house. Otherwise I have to go to the one on foothill
google avatar

Thomas H.

Yelp
The worst service I have ever received from any Safeway! The older woman at self checkout is very rude and so is the manager who lacks professionalism. Also management in the deli needs customer relations training. I will never come back to Safeway again as a whole. These people made our experience an unpleasant one!!!! Don't waste your time on Safeway or this location!!!!

Ty H.

Yelp
Save yourself from food poisoning and shop somewhere else. This store sells expired and stale food. Today I stopped in with my children and purchased some hummus and also picked up some potato wedges and tenders from the deli. The hummus expires on 2/3/2025 which I did not know until we started eating it and it tasted sour. Both the wedges and chicken tenders were dry and tasted stale as if they were sitting there for a week. This location is not worthy of the corporate name.

Yelp
Ugh (sad face) customer service is lacking here. Feels understaffed and understocked

Ireene M.

Yelp
Customer service area was closed in the day, was told to come back after 3pm. Not only once it's always they being closed. The lady who was managing that area said the employees are hiding that's y we have to have that area closed Very poor abs customer service

Johana G.

Yelp
The customer service on this place it's the worst I went today to Hayward Safeway and I was doing the line for paying and the lady who works there she started complaining about her job and saying she hastes the job and at the same time she was throwing away my stuff and everything went all over the place I got dissatisfied and upset and I asked to talk with the manager cause this is unacceptable I'll never come back again to that Safeway and it's not the first time that this happen. The worst customer service
google avatar

Shaq S.

Yelp
Most disgusting store I've been to. All the refrigerator shelves have heavy mold build up and they keep putting food items in it. Also now they only have 1 register open and force you to go to self checkout where 3 employees stand around and make small talk rather then helping customers out. What a joke.

Yingying L.

Yelp
The Safeway manager, Vita Vasquez, was very rude and provided no customer service. I was there to exchange an order, but he refused to let me do so and only accepted a return. It was a total waste of my time. I had called customer service before coming, and they clearly told me that I could do an exchange.

Yelp
No self check out always a line at this store. Only two check stands open. No one ever on the sales floor I try to avoid coming to this Safeway

Yelp
On SATURDAY FEBRUARY 1,2025 approximately 4:30 PM My mother and I entered Safeway on JACKSON #1201 231 w Jackson street Hayward ca , to do a little shopping as normal when I arrived at the checkout, the cashier rang up our groceries. She was very pleasant when it was time to pay for my groceries. I put my phone out to use my E gift card I purchased that's in my Apple wallet. It as the QR code as well as the numbers. The cashier said she was not aware of how to use it and that she needs to go get her manager for help. When the front line in manager came VITA V she went on to explain that if you don't have a physical copy of a card, then she can not help,I expressed to her that it is a E gift card meaning it was purchased online and that I only have a email in the card in my wallet and Apple. She was a bit rude so I asked her if there was a manager over her. She told me to walk over there with her and that her manager was by the exit door When we got to the exit door, that's when I was introduced to the manager Jennifer I asked Jennifer if she can go and assist us at the cash register with my E gift card because I can use my E gift card at the store Jennifer said no, you have to have a physical copy I asked her if she knew what a e gift card was? She said yes, and that she was not willing to help me or her workers, I asked her why she said it was a scam . I told her it wasn't a scam and I would just go to self check out and help myself. She told me no that I am a scammer and she will not allow my authorization to go through at self check out , I expressed it Jennifer that I was no scammer and this was no scam. I put my phone up to her so she can see my emails that I have purchased this Myself online and that it comes with instructions on how to use it at checkout she said again we're not helping you you can leave as I was walking away to leave the store like I was told . She also said you "miserable black bitch" ,that's when I turned back around and asked her to repeat herself and she did. She said you're miserable for taking picture of my name tag. As I was walking out again I heard stupid nigga coming from the front end lady. Vita . we exit the store at approximately 5:14 PM After this incident, I went straight to the next Safeway store, 972 22280 foothill blvd Hayward,ca , I grabbed some groceries. I went to self checkout. I asked a Safeway helper before I started scanning my groceries if I could use my E gift card I was told yes allow me to help you. The ladies at the Safeway helped me. Everything went well. Everything worked out at that Safeway the manager was in front so I expressed to her my experience at the Safeway that I just left and told her how I was humiliated. She expressed to me that not how a manager should have handled things And gave me numbers and emails that I can call and report this to. She was so nice and sorry for the outcome I walked away with tears.

Yelp
Wondering way here is different that in San Jose In San Jose the fix your roses for free when you buy them and here they charge you $3 dollars It is not the money it it the inconsistency It should be the same across the company loteta help me she was very nice At the end it was only $2 because I chose reg paper lol

Yelp
This safeway has 15% less selection, especially when it comes to organic fruit and veg, no semi freddies, but the whole store is just less. They clearly have some external issues too. They have lots of stuff locked up, got to go to the counter to get some of the laundry detergents, not many carts. I haven't had any issues with customer service, but I have seen a manager (assistant?) be less than helpful for another customer.

Yelp
Demand for Self Checkout stations at Safeway 231 W Jackson St in Hayward, CA 94544: Out of the top 50 reviews on Google from the last 2 years, a full 11 complained about long checkout lines, more than 5 of them quoting only 2 cashiers for 30 customers waiting in line. Every Safeway from the one in San Leandro to San Jose, and every Safeway on the Peninsula, has self-checkout except this one on W Jackson St in Hayward. As a local who shops at Safeway often, most of the staff are nice and obviously overworked. The onus of this store being poorly run, especially due to the lack of self-checkout, falls on the manager/owner and Safeway corporate for not providing an easy solution, self-checkout, that has been implemented in many stores around this one. A minimum of a few reviews per store can be found on Google citing how great the option of self-checkout is, even if there are areas of improvement. It's obvious this store is not going to properly staff itself, the way that the Hesperian Smart & Final actually did recently. Self Checkout implementation is a long term investment that will greatly benefit the customer experience and operations at this store: 1. Some customers, like myself, can speedily checkout instead of waiting for slow cashier lanes 2. Customers will put Safeway back on the same pedestal when it comes to the checkout experience as the local competition: Smart & Final, Target, Cardenas, and Lucky - all of which have self-checkout 3. One staff, once well trained, can manage and enhance the experience of multiple customers without having to do all the work of every checkout 4. Once streamlined, cost of implementing this new technology will be outweighed by the benefits of improved customer experience and lower operation costs @Safeway corporate, you need to address the following simple question: WHEN, not if, but WHEN are you going to install the self-checkout stations at W Jackson St Safeway in Hayward? And WHEN will they be available for use by the public? This will be posted on Yelp, Google, Twitter, and Nextdoor for circulation and sent to your Contact us page until you provide a proper answer and we see the self-checkout delivered to this store. Sincerely, Your Customers

Yelp
I'm giving them 3 stars not for their fine shopping establishment ( lol ) but for the deli . The building is old and tired it hasn't been remodeled since I was in high school ( 12 years ago ) it's always slow in there always short staffed . I never came or come for shopping , just the deli . And I've never been dissatisfied with my sandwich. Come for deli only . Go shopping somewhere else lol .

Yelp
This Safeway is a disgrace. Everything I seen was moldy, I only took pictures of 3 items and I just left. Such a disgusting grocery store. Does James not check the floor to see that the food is not moldy? Literally this is so nasty. Also all the young cashiers are unprofessional too. Look at the pics I attached. So disgusting. I will never come back, I am going to the Safeway on foothill from now on.

Yelp
First time in the Jackson Safeway in quite a while. The employees are terrible, customer service non-existent. Things have really changed at this store.
google avatar

Lisa L.

Yelp
This place is horrible. Specifically chose this store because it had an option to bring groceries out to the car. I ordered it at 4 am for pick up at 4 pm They texted at 230 saying it was ready. Headed over there with my kids around 4. Used the app to say where I was and waited 20 mins. Called over 10 times and no one would answer . I had to have someone come and sit in my car since both kids were sleeping for me to go inside and ask where the groceries were. Waited another 10 mins and got them myself. Save your time and money and don't frequent this place .
google avatar

Yelp
I made two separate orders for the drive up + go (not recommended) for same day. so I check in on the app and it only let me check in for one order so I called and Right away someone picked up!! I was surprised and i informed her of my issue and she said no worries she will grab both orders. She came out and had everything!!! Originally i bought two and get three free for the sodas but whoever did my drive up and go shopping did not include the additional set to complete that offer. As Samantha was loading up my car I brought up my concern to her. and she told me yes i am missing one set of sodas but I told her i selected the right amount but they ran out of sprite so i got charged for the nonsale amount for not completing the special order. but OMG talk about Customer service she offered to do a refund and charge me for the additional set of soda to complete my sale offer. She was soo sweet, kind and brought it outside for me again! Someone please give this girl a raise. She took the time listened to my concern and address it. As im a customer that uses the drive up + Go frequently so thank you, Samantha you are awesome!

Rene Z.

Yelp
One of things in this store is people with bad attitude at the deli and at customer service take for ever to come out from little office with mirror glass!

Yelp
Came here after work to buy a bottle of liquor and I pushed the button waiting for assistance. Waited about 10 mins and no one arrived so I walked off to customer service and the lovely lady put in a call for me. However, when I walked back to select my bottle the girl who was there had the audacity to mention, "next time stay here when you push the button." Like really, I had to go find help and you want to place blame on me?! I took the initiative. I don't like posting bad reviews but that one encounter changed my perspective of this store.
google avatar

Jason C.

Yelp
2022 Update , I decided to order combo meals from their deli on Door Dash. One meal was to have a Breast And Wing, Coleslaw and Potato Salad , the other meal 2 tenders and potato wedges plus cole slaw. Within 5 minutes Safeway cancelled the order. Why advertise something on Door Dash if you don't want to fulfill the order? Now I have a pending hold on my debit card which who knows how long it's going to take to get back. This store is even more horrible now than the experience I had before.

Yelp
This Safeway location is so bad, it might just be an experiment. How substandard can a grocery store get before people stop shopping there? Where to start; The store is old. It appears that it has had zero attention since it was opened. The floors are dirty, the lighting is dim, the shelves are falling apart etc. The parking lot is a mess and appears to have no attentiveness. The real main problem here is the customer service. Simply put, there is none. It's laughably bad. The employees are just don't care about their occupation, the customer and the store. Most employees are just randomly talking to each other without any concern for the customer in front of them. I felt like I was standing in their living room during a gathering. This location is on a very major street (Jackson) and right off a busy highway (880) yet the store was empty. This place should be slammed with customers. But it's not. After my recent visit, now I know why. I will make it a point to go out of my way to a better Safeway or other supermarket. Whoever manages this area must be aware of this locations poor performance. A good new general manager is needed to clean the place up and get it back into shape. Haywards demographic is changing. It's attracting more affluent individuals to the area. If the existing shops don't step up to the plate, they will be left in the dust.
google avatar

Sadaf Z.

Yelp
Rude staff. Came to get a cake from the bakery at 5pm and nobody was on site. Asked the female employee to page someone so that I can have a cake that's already made and on display to be boxed for me. She told me to come back tomorrow?! Worst customer service. Wouldn't even rate it a 1 star.

Yelp
Just your typical Safeway grocery store. Arrived here late night due to some major jerky cravings. Walked in and was greeted by a security guard absolutely hating his life. LMAO, who could blame him. There is no doubt that his night was boring AF. I made my way around the whole store trying to navigate the jerky section and can honestly say that the grocery store is tidy. Everything seemed pretty well stocked and the produce department was in tip top shape. Customer service was non existent but I can't hold that against Safeway. The store was a ghost town during my visit so I was already expecting for that to happen. As an added bonus, parking lot is huge so pick your poison. 4 stars overall.

Yelp
This grocery store is as convenient as it can get - right smack off the 880/92 interchange, walking distance from the county / school district offices (which makes it easy for those during the week to pick up something during their breaks and lunches), as well as being a neighborhood staple for the so-called 'Jackson Triangle' , which also borders the Santa Clara & Burbank neighborhoods, in this part of the Heart of the Bay - Hayward! Don't let the kinda sketchy location, and dingy/old/not modern storefront fool you - as it is a full-service supermarket! I personally won't make it my first choice to get groceries at this particular Safeway - but it does its job for being within walking distance during the 5 days during the week that I am working at the nearby county offices, which is about a quick 5-7 minute walk away! I run into many of my co-workers, including some of the clients we service at the county offices - yet alone, a lot of neighborhood kids that come here either by themselves or with their parents, as they pick up some after-school munchies & go about their day! This store is pretty well-stocked, in my opinion, and they always have great finds when you look at their clearance/marked down items by their restrooms - in addition, there are also marked down frozen items in the very back aisle, the freezer that faces the back! I've always gotten lucky with 50% off Talenti gelato pints!! (they're usually $4.99+ and with the extra discount, they're only about $2.50 - can't complain!) Ayeee!! On the other hand, this Safeway is the main anchor of the Jackson Square strip mall, with CVS Pharmacy next door, and several eateries (Starbucks, Baskin Robbins, a Taco Bell parcel restaurant with a drive-thru, etc.) & local businesses that make their home for the neighborhood! Parking is a-plenty, and you can almost always snag a spot right to the front doors! Just make sure to look to your left & right as you cross that busy thoroughfare! (there's speedbumps, though!) - and don't forget to make sure to bring your own reusable bag! Highly recommended if you're in the area, itching for a Safeway run and/or needing to pick up something before heading your way towards the hustle & bustle of the Nimitz! Glad to have this full-service Safeway right down the street from work!

Yelp
Service at the Jackson location is terrible. Associates are more concerned talking about their plans than assisting customers. I understand that getting quality workers is an ongoing problem. But how about cross training individuals to do more than gather carts and talk about their personal lives. I guess cashiers are only trained trying customers that come to their lines and screw everyone else. All I wanted to do was send money using their western Union and that was too much too ask for Safeway at this location.

Yelp
I'm not from around here, but stopped in for a few things including cookies for my pup. I got home and after opening the box I noticed a cluster of black specs. Ugh. Bugs! I wasn't planning to drive back to return them, but I thought I'd let them know. A nice woman answered the phone and took all the information of what I bought. She told me go to any Safeway and return it for my money back or exchange. Tossed them into a zip lock, bugs and all. Ugh. Fair enough!

Cynthia D.

Yelp
Just wanted some Potato Wedges and Mac n cheese, was told nobody is working and therefore I'm not able to have the food that is on display. I usually don't care, but I'm hangry and seeing that on display for me to request, but not able to have really frustrated me. I even offered to grab it myself. Not sure what the big deal is. I sound like a Karen but I swear I go above and beyond for customers. Wish people did the same for me.

Yelp
Overall, this place does its job with providing fresh produce, meats, frozen food and bakery items...my issue is the cashiers work at a pretty slow pace...some just need to find a job that meet their level and being a checker is just not it! Bakery dept (this location) not very helpful with cake orders or at least the older, Asian lady when asking for fruit along with custard in a cake...'fruit?' Yes something seasonal (like that's so unusual!) as we've ordered them before whether it be strawberry, kiwi, mandarin oranges, etc so when I pick up the cake it's just white cake with a custard... In general Safeway/Nob Hill/Raleys have great cakes and but when you special order (celebrating family August beats!) and don't get what you asked it's a little annoying...so it basically tastes like a Sara Lee pound cake with whipped cream and some custard. Sure would've been better with that fruit...

Yelp
If I can state zero stars I would. I shopped your store yesterday and was not greeted by your cashier Roberto. He didn't say Hello how are you nor Thank you and goodbye. Roberto continued to chit chat with another employee bagger. I observed and noticed not once did he engage in a simple conversation with his customers. That is terrible customer service and reflection of your store. I suggest that your employees continue training to help their customer service skills.

Yelp
Horrible Safeway. Hella janky. No carts. Long lines. Go somewhere else if you want something nice.
google avatar

Scott N.

Yelp
Since moving to Hayward, we've always shopped at the Foothill Safeway. I never realized the Jackson Street Safeway was so much closer! Because it's so close, it is also my default Amazon locker location. I still remember my first visit. The plastic checkout lights are melted and the light blue color takes me back to the 60s. I was not too excited about shopping here in the future. It turns out, however, this Safeway is perfect for a quick stop. I don't do my weekly shopping here, but I do find myself checking in often. In general, the selection of products is limited compared to other Safeways. That said, they have an amazing selection of prepped veggies. Other stores seem to have cut back on the veggies they prepare, but the Safeway on Jackson has everything... and then some. Convenience is key and for that reason I will continue to shop at this Safeway.

Yelp
This Safeway location is about as bad as it can get, in every way possible. The building is old, hasn't been remodeled ... it doesn't look anything like the Safeways in the surrounding area. From the floors, to the shelves, and even the freezer doors, its all grungy and in disrepair. The freezer doors don't quite seal all the way, and most frozen items are covered in a layer of ice. The meat and produce is horrible. It usually spoils very quickly, and its quite common to find mold in fruit and veggies if you look for it. I've opened up meat packages that have a few days until their sell by date, and they smell rotten. You should also be sure to check for expiration dates in general, as I have found expired items frequently. Stocking is also an issue. I've walked back to get some milk, only to find a gaping hole where the milk should have been. They were 100% out, unless I wanted to settle for some Lact-aid or insanely expensive organic stuff. This is true for pretty much any popular item - their ordering is really sporadic. Finally, staffing. It doesn't matter when I've gone in, there's always a line, customers are always unhappy, and employees are often stressed, and sometimes they express that with the customers. The last time I was in there, (8pm on a Friday) there was only two lines open, and both lines stretched back through the meat section. Whenever a customer would express their displeasure, the frustrated cashier would announce to the line that if we thought their service was too slow, we should go online and apply to work there, as they obviously need the help. I live 2 minutes from this location, but I make the effort to go to the Safeway 15 minutes down the freeway in San Leandro, this one is so bad. Don't waste your time or money.

Yelp
This Safeway is unprofessional. I ordered a Holiday Dinner from them 5 days ago. Today they sent me a Email canceling my order. Called this Safeway location and no one answered their customer service line. Tried to talk to the Deli and the lady can only tell me is that the manager is canceling orders. I asked to talk to a manager and was left on hold for 10 minutes. Finally just gave up. Now I have to find Thanksgiving Dinner Roast with 3 days before thanksgiving. Thanks Safeway, you guys suck!

Yelp
This Safeway is frequently severely understaffed compared to the other local Safeways. Often, I'll drop by to pick up a few essentials after Zumba next door, and the express lane is 10 people deep. No self checkout available. I have to wonder if the understaffing is intentional, since it is so consistent and long term. It seems like an obvious and addressable problem. Does corporate allocate fewer resources because the neighborhood is less affluent? The staff that's there is typically friendly and competent.

Yelp
Ummm where are all the employees?!? This place needs to have a hiring event because the line here was longer then the line at Disney Land! I'm a very patient person but 32 minutes in line? Yikes. Other safeway's open extra lanes when there are 3 more people in line. 3 stars for everything being stocked nice.

Yelp
be careful when you shop here. My card has been skimmed 2 times. One at the new self check-out and another time at the registers. Wiped me out. I have to support my grandchild and I, unfortunately, have food stamps. I just started with this and 1st card got wiped out beginning of last month. New card got wiped out beginning of this month. Only used card 1 time at this Safeway. Everyone be careful.

Yelp
Worst Safeway I've ever been to by far. Gross, no selection, and the drive up and go at this location is beyond terrible.

Yelp
This week Safeway has a promotion on Signature Farm 80% Lean Ground Beef for $1.99/pound with a limit of 2 packages. The picture they used on the advertisement was a picture of a hamburger. I went there and found packages that matched the description Signature Farm 80% Lean Ground Beef. I got 2 packages only to find out at the check-out that they were not the right ones that are on sale. On my way home, thinking about the picture of a hamburger so I was thinking maybe they meant the meat patties instead. I went back and got 2 packages of the meat patties. Just to make sure I got the correct one, I asked the cashier to check it out for me but she said she has to run it through the system to find out. Turn out these 2 packages of Signature Farm 80% Lean Ground Beef Patties are not on sale neither. I think this Safeway store put this ad just to trick people into going there. Such a deceptive method!
