Huge shout out to the bakery team at Safeway @ Rivermark for an amazing job on my daughter’s 5th birthday cake and cupcakes. They were beautiful, delicious, and a huge hit with everyone. Thank you for helping make her birthday so special. Highly recommend.

I have found the milk shelf empty multiple times in the last 3 years. Basically I can never depend on Safeway to have the milk that I want. And when I ask them the replies I have got is that there is no one working to restock right now or that the load is delayed. Never experienced this at any of the other brand stores like Trader Joe’s

this guy for the self check is so rude. He overcharged your money. Pointing at the customer with his finger. His behavior was so disgusting. He shouldn't be here to face customers. He is not service to customers, he is impertinent limited customers to checkout, and brings so bad shopping experiences to the customers.

5 stars for usually carrying Oriental Lily bouquets. I try to buy a couple of bouquets every 2 weeks as their fragrance is so beautiful and intoxicating unlike Asiatic Lilies, which have no fragrance, and the lilies last about 2 weeks. Spring and Summer they also sell Hydrangeas sometimes. Roses don't really last so I tend to avoid buying them, and if I do, I get them from Costco (the 2 dozen counts). I'm a flower loving girl!

April 2025: Review on Safeway pick up order. The pick up time was faster and earlier than what was promised. However, the person didn’t even helped me put my groceries in the trunk just because I helped her. I have to asked her to at least hand me over one of the bags because she is just standing there. I’m not body shaming, but girl, at least move your body to help customers put their grocery bags in the trunk in order to get rid some of the body fat. Anyways, I won’t dare to help next time and I’ll let the person take the groceries for them to put it on my trunk because if I do give a hand, they would just stand there and let me do it instead without any help. This is the first time that someone just stand there without any help at all, all of the associates helped me before. Perhaps I won’t just use their pick up service next time and just shop in person. Minus 1 star. I’ll give it a three star now. September 2024 Update Review: Wow!! Their cakes look sooo good and very nicely decorated compared to how it was before. I can’t help but take pictures of all of them. I’d love to buy one someday when I’m craving for sweets. But yeah, big difference. Whoever is currently decorating it is good. I know because I remember I used to criticize their cakes because it was so sloppy on how it looks like and I didn’t even take a look at them to buy one for birthdays. However now, I’m thinking of getting one in here if it’s good. Either way, I’ll try their small cakes.. looks good and yummy! 😋 I really like this store, it’s very convenient especially their pick up service. I have a hard time finding items at the grocery store and there was even a time where I went twice and couldn’t find it, however, when I ordered online, they found it and I got what I needed. So that’s one of the pros of ordering and picking it up at the store instead. Saves lots of time and hustle. Overall, I’m a happy customer. 🥰💕 2023 Update Review: Sometimes they put foods that are about to expire. I had to exchange the cake I ordered online because it’s going to expire 2 days after ordering. Instead of the new one, the shopper just took the one that’s going to expire soon. I think this is the problem I have when ordering online coz I can’t get to check the expiration date of the products and the shopper just grab whatever that’s on the shelf without considering the expiration date. But I can’t blame them because they need to do their job fast. Update: I never had another problem picking up my order from then on. So great service overall. They cancelled my order even though they said to the customer representative that I will be able to pick it up. I was not even given a confirmation that my order is good to pick up and had to call customer service and said everything was good he had to call the store and the store said my order is ready but it’s already 7:30pm yesterday night, so I decided to pick it up today and said it’s gonna be okay, however they cancelled it. So the $10 points that was redeemed has gone to waste. Bad customer service. I don’t know whether it’s the system or it’s in the hands of the employees to either send a confirmation or not for the order to be picked up, but I never got one.

I love this Safeway. Trader Joe’s is still my favorite but due to convenience and acceptance of WIC and EBT This is my main place I shop overall. Parking is horrible mostly because for some reason the drivers are lackluster and unsafe.My go to shopping spot in the Montague area.

Safeway@Rivermark plaza is nice. Has a wide selection of dairy, fresh produce, ready to eat fruits/salads. I love their decor with fresh flowers on sale for every occasion. Safeways are great convenience store at every 2 mile of residential areas but on a pricier side. Has the north park library and a playground in adjoining plaza. It sells balloons, cakes, pastries and houses a Starbucks inside.

This is a neighborhood Safeway . Today we visit the flower and stuffed animals sections. They have some beautiful pre made bouquets. The flowers are so fresh and colorful! Their florist did wonderful job in mix and match the flowers together. Stuffed animals are cute and we even found a Hawaiian State Fish plushie. Halloween decorations are up . The whole store is festive with fun theme.

This Safeway is really nice. They redid the floors and revamped the bakery in the last couple of years. I bought two small bundles of flowers here yesterday and then put them together at home to make a really nice bouquet! The flower selection at this Safeway is pretty diverse, so I found some good flowers that I liked.

This is a great location!!! Store is clean & many, many things 2 choose from!!! The deli counter service was friendly & immediate!!! The produce section is huge & had items I've never seen before!!! The main complaint I have was that they only had 2 check stands open during the dinner time!!! We had 2 stand in line for a good 10-15 minutes!!! U should have many lanes open when it's busy!!!

I go to the store on regular basis, and has convinced myself to give the store another chance. But now after my final encounter with the store manager Jennifer, I have decided NEVER go back to the store again. The stores are always crowded and short staffed. So the staff members are not there to help at all. Just pure rudeness. This is from the top manager Jennifer down to cashiers. The store was not managed by qualified manager and the business will have to suffer at the end of the day. I will give a ZERO star.

It's a clean store, but I come here for only emergencies. Prices are high. Download the Safeway app to get it back down to "normally high prices" The clientele. You get people cutting at the self checkout. You have old ladies stealing electricity outside with those battery backup devices. Kids messing around in the isles. There is a reason why this Safeway needs a security guard. Ice cream is sometimes frozen over if you know what I mean. Like it once defrosted and then froze again. Detergents are now locked up. I'm surprised but not surprised at all. Sometimes the prices are marked wrong. Like right now, the Christmas cards are marked 75% off but will ring up full price when you checkout. Sometimes prices are straight up price gouging. Don't buy flowers here on Valentine's Day. Don't buy water here on a game day. Parking is awful here. Like I said, only come here for emergency needs.

Very costly for the quality. Organic chicken is not of better quality than Trader Joe's. But i get my Clover and bread from here. Most of the Checkout counters are closed. Self check out doesnt allow buying Alcohol and they send you back to counters which is a straight 20 min waiting.

I've always liked this Safeway. But, the parking is always terrible! There are a lot of restaurants and other businesses in this plaza. It's been a while since I've shopped here, but it seems like they are remodeling, so you can tell part of the floor has been scraped up, etc. The bathrooms are out of order. But some are in the customer service area. Standard fare, delicatessen, sushi, chicken wings, wedge cut potatoes, etc.

I absolutely love Safeway great quality iteam fully stocked and good customer service. But I went in to get a sandwich and the girl at the deli is trying to charge me $1 for 3 pieces of artichokes. I asked when did you guys start charging. She stated we always have and it on the screen. We'll it's not on the screen and you have not always charged for artichokes on my sandwiches. I was afraid to ask for aoli. It would be nice if this was up on the board that way we don't get a sticker shock for artichokes on my sandwich.

I don't make frequent trips to this particular Safeway but have found myself here more and more within the past two months. Parking typically isn't bad but there have been a time or two where I am forced to do quite a bit of walking. Foot traffic here can be bananas. Not a deal breaker but worth noting. Lmao. Aisles seem to be a lot better stocked than the Safeway located near home. This makes for enjoyable walks with my little 4yo, up and down through each lane. Would have been 4 stars but I deducted one due to the cashier/registers not picking up one certain sales. There have been many occasions where the sales/deductions weren't provided and were missed out on due to us already heading home. PAY CLOSE ATTENTION WHEN GETTING RUN UP.

This review is for the bakery I went Yesterday Saturday I got a cake on Friday went back to tell him the manger that day he was rude no customer service he sucks he sucks I am a good customer there so I don't know if I will a cake again I buy cakes all the time the guy gave a hard time ass .... The guy on Saturday has no customer service get rid him

I always come here to drop off or deposit my bottles, but last week I had two big plastic bags full of small bottles. I politely asked for a sticker since I had two bags to drop off, but the lady at Customer Service was terrible. When I asked her about the sticker, she just pointed at the machine "Use the machine." and ignored me. Wow she's really bad at customer service. I wasn't even rude, but every time I asked her for a sticker, she gave me a rude gesture. Also, the Olyns machine wasn't taking both of my bags of empty bottles, which is why I asked for the sticker in the first place so I could just drop them off. Instead, I had to bring them all the way back home after walking 25 minutes to get there. Honestly, if you don't want to help people, don't work in customer service. She's horrible at her job. I've given her plenty of chances, but she's always so bad.

Racist staff, Immelda, Rosemarie, black women with dreads who covered her name, and Joseph I have been shopping at this location for over 10 years. I come in with my own cart, I do my shopping and leave. I am always harassed, followed or being starred at and stood over while going thru self check out, and accused of stealing. Rosemarie lied and stated I assaulted her after she came into my personal space to void my transaction twice for no reason. She was upset trying to assert her authority through discriminatory actions & words and I wasn't going for it. I've had several conversations with the store manager Robert regarding the harassment, false accusations and the discriminatory behavior and actions and nothing has changed. I'm banned for being difficult according to Joseph the night manager, not stealing but speaking out against discrimination and harassment from their staff.

They charge 5$ to make a flower bouquet, another 5$ for paper, and 10$ for tips. At the end ended up paying 100$ for 4 flowers, just a rip off never buy flower here

Fire Safeway! Quiet, not too many people, ample parking, late hours nice workers, good deals! Nothing bad.

They just did a remodel but the flow of the store is terrible. I don't know why they had to rearrange every aisle & change it up. The bakery is better now more selections. It's really disappointing though because there is a security guard at the door & they let in a big hairy dog. I don't know why grocery or any food establishments would allow animals in the store. Totally understandable if it a service dog, that is not an issue. But there was a guy w/ a huge dog & this dog shook itself right near the open containers of chicken wings. Who ever bought that stuff got dog hair on it & it was just disgusting. People need to be held accountable for there behaviors & this is unacceptable! I have a picture of the loser & his hairy big dog! Do better Safeway!

This is funny, but ... I'm an unhappy camper right now. I go to the store at Rivermark a lot. Sometimes for lunch, sometimes on my way home from work. Today I stopped for lunch. I really like the sandwiches. :-) I wanted to get a bottle of Single Barrel Jack Daniels. But it's locked up. So I pressed the button, and no one came (on the right in the picture). I pressed it again, and still no one came. So I went to go get my sandwich. I came back, and tried again, twice again, and no one came. There is a special price for two bottles, so that's revenue they just lost. At least $70 is a good estimate. How do I fix this? Go to customer service next time? Oh yeah, and *then* I tried to submit feedback on Safeway's website, this page: https://www.safeway.com/inquiry/contact-us.html I fill everything out, I click on the Submit button: AND ABSOLUTELY NOTHING HAPPENED. Maybe it got submitted, maybe it didn't, but nothing happened. No feedback whatsoever. Funny. Not really.

CUSTOMER SERVICE , l just used the self checkout, and there is a very mean and rude lady. l ask for help and she was claiming that it was my Safeway card that didn't work and. She started to complain about it. And she was offering help to another person when she's wasn't not even done with me. I ended asking her to remove the product,because I was on the mood to argue with her.

Amazon lockers are conveniently located at this Safeway. It's hidden on the side closest to the donuts and bagels. With all the porch thefts happening in our neighborhoods, I think it's best to be on the safe side. Placed my order on Sunday and picked up my order here yesterday with no issues. Then, went grocery shopping right after. It's a win-win!

I was Rolling by this Safeway and I had to Stop and Check it out!!!! It's one of the Biggest Safeways I have ever seen!!! It's pretty impressive!!!! You name it they probably have it!!! Lucky for me it was Baller On A Budget Friday!!!! I went to the Deli and a 8 Piece Fried Chicken Dinner was on Sale for $5 and Sushi Rolls your Choice $5 !!!! So I bought 2 Sushi Rolls and a 8 Piece Fried Chicken for under $20 !!!! That's a Baller On A Budget Approved Dinner Deal!!! I even had the Deli SERVER Ring me out at the Deli to avoid the Long Lines out Front lol !!!! Service was Friendly and Efficient!!! The Food was Fresh and Delicious!!! This Safeway is a Baller On A Budget Approved Establishment!!

This review is for the Safeway Bakery. Two stars for the cake because it did taste decent. It is not as fluffy and more on the sweeter side. I took three stars away because they did not follow directions on how I wanted the print to be large, they put the "Happy Birthday" on the wrong cake, and was late for the pick up time. Today is the Marines Birthday so in celebration, my department placed an order for two cakes for the cutting celebration. There is a tradition where the oldest Marine cuts a piece of cake with his sword and passes the slice to the youngest Marine. It is a way to celebrate the past, present, and future. The oldest is passing his experience and history to the younger generations from my understanding. A chocolate and white cake was ordered. My coworker placed the order a week before the event and was very thorough on what design and print. The day of the bakery called saying that the cake wasn't ready at 9am, the pick up time requested. The bakery didn't have rice paper for the print, so we had to pick up the cake a hour later. Luckily, we weren't doing the cake ceremony not until noon but someone else had to pick up the cake since the time changed. When the cake was picked up the writing was on the wrong cake and the design on the rice paper should have been larger for the branches. We scrambled to find someone to write "Happy Birthday" on the cake cake. Someone did it but it was so sloppy and definitely looked last minute.

The shelves are full, and the cashier lines aren't so long. The produce is fresh. They can improve customer service. There's a Starbucks inside, which is nice. Overall, it's an okay Safeway in a nice location with many restaurants and shops nearby.

Did anyone else buy donuts here on Christmas Eve and find themselves sick with food poisoning after eating the donuts on Christmas morning? My husband, son, and I all ate the Safeway bakery donuts on Christmas morning. About 2 hours later, I threw up. My husband didn't, but mentioned he felt like the donuts made his stomach hurt a little. About 15 hours after that, all 3 of us simultaneously were on the toilet.......the only thing we all ate was donuts. Everyone we spent the holidays with is fine. Just throwing it out there to let people know in case they experienced something similar.

This is the second time in 3 weeks I've had Christina as my cashier. I asked her nicely to push my groceries down. I had rotator cuff surgery a few weeks ago and she refused to push the groceries down to me. She had a terrible attitude and said, we don't have conveyor belts anymore. What an incredible opportunity to push the groceries down!! She ruins my experience and should get demoted!!

I stop by here at least twice a week before work, right at 5AM-5:10AM. They're always open on time and the employees are all busy at work. Some have their airpods on and keep to themselves and you can tell which ones are the social ones just talking about random stuff. The employees are very diverse and the age gap is pretty big. They're always stocking up in every department and keeping everything clean and organized. Of course during the morning there's plenty of parking but I still imagine even during the rush hour Rivermark Plaza still has plenty of parking. It's shared with a ton of businesses so it can accommodate that. One little hiccup is when I went to buy a couple quest bars the cashier immediately said we don't have enough cash for cashback. I didn't want any cash but it didn't really matter. Just caught me off guard. There's also a Wells Fargo just a stone throw away anyways. Overall very clean, bigger than normal selection and everything is organized. Props to the Director and Managers.

I like this Safeway; it's quiet, with a bit of music playing in the background. The service is phenomenal. It's never out of stock, and the produce and meats are always fresh. The sushi is fresh, and there's a wide selection too. My 12-pack of caffeine-free cola is always here! If you are a trail mix person, this is the place. You can build your own bag to your liking.

Horrible customer service Wednesday night from lady wearing a blue t shirt ( working self checkout) We wanted to pay half EBT & half cash but their system wasn't accepting our EBT for some reason We left . 2 mins later I came back to try to pay for it & she said someone took our bags and started putting it back on the shelf already . I then asked her to call them on the intercom and ask them to bring it back . She said "everything is probably already back on the self" SHE DIDN'T EVEN TRY TO HELP ME GET MY THINGS BACK 0 stars for this store from me for poor customer service . It's like they don't want to make sales .

Customer service ... poor... Cashier Cristina needs to go back to training and be taught manners. Sorry not sorry that we had to remind her that there is a line back to timbucktoo in this already high traffic Location to turn her ass around and check out items for us instead her talking to other employees about how she wants to go home and take a break and then reminding everyone it's the start of her shift... better off staying home and calling out instead of showing up piss ass FML attitude like she doesn't have one care to give. Rating is not due to store but employee... store itself is not bad at all but experience is what matters.

Store is clean and well stocked. Easy to find things. Get the app for extra savings. I got a bag of shredded cheese for free. Parking Can be a nightmare. Lots of restaurants in the strip mall.

This isn't the first time that this has happened, so I'm taking the time to write a review. I'm disabled and ordered groceries for pickup. These are the pears they picked out for us. That's not good business.

This Safeway is probably the cleanest one I've been to. It is within walking distance from my house so I continue coming here. The self-check out is what keeps me in and out of the store really fast. The machines are out of order from time to time but it's a quick way of grabbing what I need. Too bad when I'm buying alcohol it'll take a little longer because they're not allowed at the self check out. Overall this Safeway is convenient and tidy.

This is about store manager and his assistants working at the self checkout. This incident happened at 9.20pm on 11/29/2024 at Rivermark plaza. I and my husband have been regulars here for the last 10 years. we both went to grab a dessert and got a mini cheesecake from the glass. enclosure as it was not locked and we took it to the self checkout where the lady clerk overseeing the checkouts started blaming us for taking it from enclosed glass display. There was absolutely no sign there we can't self serve or we need to call for assistance. We were very upset the way she was blaming and asked for the manager to complain about her behaviour. But the manager turned to be worse than the clerk and showed us the door literally to get out of the store as if we did some blunder or we are stealing something. Is this what your customer service at safeway and is this the way you train your store managers to insult customers? Nobody should go thru this experience what we went thru on this day.

Awful service and rude for moms Firstly, cashiers there don't know how to use milk checks. We went through 3 lines all 3 cashiers don't know how to use milk checks. The end they asked us to go to the customer service desk. Secondly,They refused us to use the milk check in the store just because it titled as "valued Similac customer" which I got from my OB and is totally eligible. The lady worked at the customer service was super rude as we should've tried to buy. They also said even if there is a name there they only allow us to use one per day which is against on what describes on the check I got. Basically they made there own rules against all other stores.

This store is utterly disgusting. I have gotten sick from the food on 4 separate occasions all from different items they sell. From the sushi to the beef, to sweets like Madeline's and ice cream. I have gotten so utterly sick for two weeks straight with no reprieve. But it doesn't end there, The management is utterly awful. At one point I went into line to pay for my groceries and the checker was wandering around talking to people not doing their job. I asked if they were open, which they ignored my question and started hitting my back and told me to not skip the line like I was some kind of child. So I decided to go to the next line and found what I assume to be the manager and told him what happened. Not only did he support the checker for hitting me he threatened to ban me from the store as if I did something wrong. Now I feel as the store is not only selling expired foods well past the sell by date I also feel unsafe shopping there worried I will be attacked by the staff.

I love this Safeway! Super clean, great customer service, very helpful. I want to give a special shout out to Malena who helped us with the Safeway app as to how to get discounts & great deal. She was super friendly & very helpful. Safeway is very lucky to have such an amazing staff & a great employee like Malena.

Only 3 cashiers open during rush hour and one cashier took more than 20 minutes for one customers. They did slowly. Please improve cashier speed

Last Tuesday evening September 3,2024 my friends and I were visiting this store . The checker who was a male . It was around 11:30 pm he was quite rude and did not know how to ring out products properly. It was in a hurry and very dismissive. I am not sure I want to go back . He needs to be better trained. He could have been friendlier and had a smile on his face then the awkward encounter could have been different instead of traumatizing.

I like coming to this particular location since it's close to where I live but the customer service here can be tricky. It's usually hit or miss. Today I was given a very poor attitude by the black woman working in self checkout. Mam if you hate your job just say that. Not my fault okay. Your attitude sucks pretty bad. Hopefully things get better for you & you quit picking on innocent customers being a jerk for no apparent reason.

Usually had what I need though a uniformity of gift cards sold would be nice. The other day I had to go to four different stores to purchase my Amazon and Taco Bell cards. Also it would be nice if the gas points could be used immediately Ive had to delay gassing up once as my Safeway pints while immediately rewarded on my receipt but when I went to gas up they weren't updated. With the high gas prices currently. The gas rewards Is a reason I patronize your stores!

Do not buy gift cards at this Safeway. They are all frauds. I purchase 2 and I cannot get my money back from Safeway. Been talking to customer service for 2 months now. When you purchase a gift card, they give you a little receipt and tell you that you're verification, but it's not. They want the full receipt f. Y. I. They got my money. But when it comes to returning it, they keep telling me they're looking into it. Do not buy your gift cards at this Safeway. Customer service sucks they are not for customers they are only for themselves. Treating me as if I'm the one doing the fraud. And I am out not once but twice. customer service does not work in a timely manner And make you feel like you're the criminal.

Imeldo employee is the RUDEST person you will ever meet! If you need or want to be disrespected please stop by Safeway Rivermark and just look for Imeldo she will not only be verbally disrespectful, she clearly doesn't enjoy people or like to do her job!

There are some great employees like Melina , Paul , and the cart guy John. Worst one is Theresa she always is in a bad mood. I've literally never seen her help someone nicely. Runner up for rude is that Filipino dude with glasses.

I never been to this Safeway before and was wondering way the bad reviews...it looks clean and the area isn't bad...and then it clicked: bad service. I love my Safeway at S Winchester (campbell), so i guess not all locations can have nice staff.

This Safeway is located in a very popular spot, the reason I am giving it 3 stars and not more is because parking really sucks during the day. There are a lot of places to eat right by it and a Wells Fargo bank across from Safeway so it can get really stressful if you just need to run in for a quick pick up. I usually I go around 11 to avoid the crowd, the place is always clean and shelves stay stocked up with everything. I have never once seen any shelves empty. This location has so many food choices, they have a fresh sushi bar, fresh wings all different flavors, soups, salads, sandwich area where they make them for you even a dessert section. I never seen a Safeway have a big selection of Mochi or ice cream macaroons. I never tried them but hope to one day. I will say they can use a little more help at the registers, lines tend to get backed up. If you are looking for a quick snack or lunch I would give it a try.

Helpful checkout staff resolved issues with my account and made the checkout experience go smoothly. I clipped the digital coupon in the Safeway app. For some reasons, the coupon discount didn't appear when the item was scanned. The staff was able to look into a few things and finally got the digital coupon discount reflected to the transaction.

I was stuck at check out counter. Paul came to my help. The produce that I bought is should be $1.51/lb vs $3.99 but for some reason the check out counter did not recognize the change. And I left my phone at home. So that's no way to show evidence. I was about to leave and make another trip back with my phone. Paul at check out counter tried something and He was able to get the discounted price by keying in the code instead and he does not has to override the price. He got me the huge savings and save me another trip. Thank you Paul!
