Poorly run store with mostly unhelpful staff, although I am sure if you look at my account you would think I am super happy with the store because one of the female store managers of asain decent goes around the self check out marking the survery scores at 10 out of 10 for as many customers as she can and says something like " here let me set you up so you can enter your phone number" total scam to pad the scores which I am sure would be quite low as several of the cashiers are rude, managers are not eager to help with much, pharmacy tech gives false info and misses prescriptions often and their bags are broken at the handles but no one seems to care or get them replaced.I honestly try to never complain and I never leave bad scores because you have staff members like the ones at deli and hot food station who are ALWAYS amazing without fail and there is one blonde cashier who also has started helping out behind the customer service desk who is truly so sweet I have even seen her help people pay for their groceries but after yet another issue at the store where my $100 safeway egift card was not allowed to be used at the store because of new policies and the staff could truly not care less about helping me I have had enough and want all those fake 10 out of 10 reviews removed.

Spoke with manager over summer about how the understaffing at his store was making shopping there very unpleasant. He said he was taking steps to improve staffing. He has done nothing! Today I waited thirty minutes which is about average these days waiting in line. Due physical disabilities each time I ask the bagger to not make bags heavy. They ignore me. A perfect example from today is three 64 oz creamers and a carton of ice cream were put in the same bag. I could barely lift it. They don’t care or give a crap and just toss whatever in bag until full. Today was the last straw. After ten years shopping at the country club Safeway I am calling it quits. Management cares nothing about even the small things like spending an hour or two teaching employees how to bag properly. The constant and chronic under staffing continues on and on. Good riddance country club Safeway. There are not these problems at the other Safeway in town or at Savemart either. I will take my approximate $10,000 a year shopping dollars to a business that gives a crap about customer service. That store is a disgrace. I would like to give high props to Fatih who is a long time employee who has always been consistently kind and always helpful to me every single time I have been in the store. For her alone I would give a five star review. Thank you Faith.

I ordered online & picked up 7/23/24 brussel sprouts, avocados and broccoli. Safeway on Country club Blvd, Stockton. 7/24 (today) I went to make the sprouts as I was cutting the ends to open them. Tiny little worms and black eggs started coming out, as I observed the 2 lb I had purchased. All of them were contaminated. I called Safeway 7/24 @ 7:05 pm, and spoke to the night time manager. She assured me she was going to pull the brussel sprouts but because other products are exposed I told her she would need to pull all the produce next to the sprouts. Don't buy no produce. Check the produce before you leave. I had Safeway employees do my shopping. 🤮 12/24 bought the Safeway select seasoned fries. I took them out of freezer January 18th (3 weeks later) to make and several fries were covered in mildew.

I like the variety of food items. Dislike the one way in and one way out of the store. The self checkout is lousy. I always have a problem at self checkout due to invalid or wrong upc codes the time it takes to get a clerk to help fix a machine that needs an override.

Shop there often for as long as the store has been there. This morning I was there to pick up a few things, and also use the DMV kiosk. I made the mistake of parking at the door that has no exit, just an entrance in the handicap spot that I need to use. When finished I asked the employee who was attending the self-service checkout if he could possibly let me out the exit door there? After giving me a look like I just destroyed his whole day, he proceeded to lecture me about how they're nit supposed to do that, and I need to learn to go out the other door, to get to my car!! Excuse me?? S-MART is so much more friendly and helpful. I don't need to be lectured by a Safeway employee... I wonder if he has that same attitude and energy for people that walk out of the store with baskets of food they don't pay for?

I had a good experience Here at Safeway Safeway has so much good stuff a lot of good juices and Breads and soups and cakes and vegetables the store is very clean it's not too crowded at all it's very organized and very clean the employees are very kind and helpful to their customers always concerned if we found everything okay let's just say you want to take Grandma for a nice day of shopping and you want to get her some soup or bread or something whatever she likes Safeway will have it I guarantee it and the store is also very sanitary as soon as I walked in there was a little station cleaning station right there with hand sanitizers to wipe down the baskets and everything also paper towels. This place also has wheelchair accessible parking handicap parking curbside pickup and delivery right at your convenience thank you Safeway on Alpine Avenue I recommend this to every Shopper that is looking for good groceries and good produce I'm looking forward to coming here again with my family and friends for another good day of shopping thank you so so much I will post up photos to for you and I also have given you a 5-star review thank you for your kindness have a good day

Safeway is an upscale shopping experience. It is a beautiful store a little on the pricey side. There is a Starbucks conveniently located inside as well as a pharmacy and deli sandwich and hot food counters. Beware there is an abundance of shoppers now so the lines have been ridiculous lately. Best note: 5 dollar fridays! Always great deals! Oh also there is a Dmv registration automated system kiosk where you can pay your registration and get new tags. There is 2 Atms inside thr front. There is only one handicap buggy left so be prepared....And last but certainly not least wear your mask or be ejected.😷🤗👍

I haven't stopped Safeway in over a year now, I live about four blocks away, because of the many times that I went to purchase an item and it was priced wrong on the shelf, I was told by the clerk that I should look at the scan on the package and the scan on the shelf to make sure that they match [this is something that no shopper would ever do, is check every item] so after many times of mispriced items and no help from the management I had to give up on Safeway for I think that their only goal is to make profits and a lot of this profit is from mispriced items, that you 🤔 buy daily, I haven't had any problems with pricing at the new shopping center, Walmart.

I like this safe Way on the inside it is very air conditioned it is clean. I wish they would make it more convenient to get out of the store not just one way to go out. I would really like for them to redo the parking lot and put more shopping cart stations like in each lane. It would be nice if they had an awning to keep the heat off of the cars maybe customers would be courteous to putting the shopping carts back instead of in parking spots and in the handicap parking spots. Also getting tired of seeing homeless people hanging out.

This Safeway is basically like going to food4less, maybe even Walmart: the workers hate their job and are not shy on hiding it, just watch a lady ring up an old lady and gave attitude the entire time because she was " over it" it's a shame. I normally shop at sprouts but they were closed, I will no longer spend my money at this place. If I could score it would be -1 star. Even the security are in professional. As I walked in I hear him using profanity he on the phone. Just so uninviting. Safeway do better! It's real ghetto!

This is the worst grocery store on the planet! Ready to feel like a herd animal? Go to this grocery store! There's only one entrance for the public. Once inside you can expect the exorbitant prices from a high end grocery store and none of the freshness or quality! Only one human being works a register. That person is in the cosmetic/liquor section. The rest of the registers are in a central location where you'll self-service your checkout. Hopefully you aren't thinking of purchasing a bottle of wine for dinner. If you do, you'll have no choice but to wait in the only line operated by a human being to validate your identification. Once your hard earned money has been spent, plan to be herded like cattle to the opposite end of the store. Think you parked close to the entrance or exit? Think again. When you try to exit, you'll find that the exit is an emergency exit only. If you enjoy being made to feel like a second class citizen while you shop, go to the Safeway Grocery on Country Club Blvd. I promise you'll feel like a degenerate member of society and be charged at a premium for such treatment. The floral department ought to sell only bouquets of Richards, because that is what you can expect from your Safeway shopping experience time and time again.

I went just for fried chicken. The legs were very skimpy and the breast were HUGE!!!! Not sure if it was a real chicken or not. Didn't bother with anything else. You walk in the store on one end and have to leave out clearly on the other end of the store. I didn't like that at all.

This place is the worst. Will never be returning. They have a 4/20 different meat specials. You can mix and match. It's very obviously which ones are on sale. We checked out through the private section where you can purchase alcohol. The woman had some of the items not ring up as a discount. She sent her bagger over to check one and he CONFIRMED it was on sale. She just looked at us blankly and kept saying it's not ringing up. I don't work there. I can't fix your discounts. Then she goes back and forth like it just won't ring up. They are sending people around us the another line. She calls the meat Department. They don't pick go. It's been like 15 minutes by this time. And finally. I say. We don't want them anymore. I need to leave. NOW she needs a manager to come over and void the items. She gets one. He comes over. Clearly sees there's an issue. She's trying to make him take is to ANOTHER register to discount the items. I declined. I just. Didn't have time. Also. The bathrooms are pretty dirty. Other locations to go that would value your business.

I had a fantastic experience at Safeway thanks to Daniel, the manager. He goes above and beyond to discount customers' bills. If you ever need any assistance ask for Daniel.

The cake was decorated pretty but the taste in their cakes has really gone down. They dont taste as moist or flavorful they feel kind of dry and airy. Sometimes the bakers take a while to help you out, other than that its a cute cake for last minute birthdays!

Tried the curbside for the first time. I am having back issues and can't walk far. They Forgot my most important items. I called and got a refund, but now I have to reorder and go back and watch them to make sure I get what I need. This was not a good first start.

Never enough staff, long waiting in Line. The bakery has old cookies and baked goods. Today all they had were cookies that were packed on October 6!!! Get it together!

I've never been treated so rudely as a customer at a Safeway. As a former Store Manager and Supervisor I know that there is a way to talk to and treat customers. It doesn't matter what you going through, or experiencing at home, staff shortage, call ins, or anything else. I was so livid at the way the African American Closing Manager at the above aforementioned location that I forgot to get her name. *1/5 Stars - Extremely Disappointing Experience* I recently visited Safeway at [#2808 Country Club Blvd, Stockton, CA ] at approximately 10:57 pm and encountered some of the worst customer service I've ever experienced. Unfortunately, the Manager's unprofessional behavior, rudeness, and disrespect made my visit utterly unacceptable. From the moment I walked in, I was met with indifference and a lack of urgency. She seemed completely disinterested in assisting me, and when I asked a question, I was met with a dismissive tone and a roll of the eyes. I informed her that I was completing a Doordash order which she responded "Hurry up!" The issues only escalated from there. Despite my polite and patient demeanor, I was spoken to in a condescending manner, and my concerns were dismissed without any meaningful resolution. Upon completion of having a store associate assist me locating the only item shopped for, she said that, All the registers were closed. So you didn't keep a register opened knowing that I was only grabbing 1 item? Her response with an attitude was , I'm trying to be Nice! I also informed her that you don't treat customers that way. And that I write reviews for Google, Yelp Business, and I mystery shop. She asked me if I was threatening her. I said No, just stating facts. But I am calling the Corporate office which she responded and I quote, "I Don't Care!" I said really? She said... that's what I Said!" I said Wow! You really should find another line of work. I wouldn't want you representing my business. I'm almost positive that this isn't her first time acting this way. *Key Issues:* - Unprofessional behavior - Rudeness and disrespect - Lack of empathy or understanding - Ineffective communication - Poor conflict resolution *Recommendation:* Until Safeway addresses these systemic issues and prioritizes customer satisfaction, I would strongly advise others to avoid this location. This store has been my go to for almost 50 years including the old location, now Big lots. The security, self check and exit plan are a freaking disaster. I will be moving my trade to Safeway Pacific unless they have also adopted the new rules. A shame the thieves have pushed them into this.

Nice store in Stockton. Big. Clean. Nice wide aisles. Easy to read signage for someone not familiar with the store's layout. Convenient self checkout stands.

Worst Safeway I've ever been to. Customer service is a joke the three people I was in contact with were the rudest I've ever seen. They force everyone to use self-checkout. You're forced to come in through one side and then forced to go out through the self checkout and walk to the complete other side of the store.

There needs to be something done RIGHT AWAY by corporate. When Safeway was run by CALIFORNIANS in Pleasanton, CA. the stores were MUCH better...now they are run by Idaho people. It has made a huge difference. I am wondering WHY we have produce from South America when RIGHT HERE IN THIS VALLEY is the best and freshest produce? THAT IS a puzzle! If CountryClub Safeway fails this will area be a " food dessert". This is the Safeway store closest to my house and I mainly use home delivery so was I ever shocked when I went to actual store and found it was barracaded against the rampant crime/theft. There are no more checkers! WHY? Why only self service? I won't/can't do self service and they will help customers if they say they can't but it seems there would be MORE theft if all is self-service! The checkers have always been like friendly faces and a REASON to go into store! The staff who gathers home delivery orders together are really great but the store is a nightmare for people coming in from their cars. The one way entries and the exit are beyond belief. Years ago I remember more than once seeing people running out with big meat packages in their hands! I guess it grew and grew what with drugs in our society which can be traded for a roast beef or package of steaks? So I guess that kind of thing makes corporations decide to do things which are NOT customer friendly. The stupid theft law in CAL. is the reason . (Same in New York I have read and heard) PLEASE Safeway, STAY at the Countryclub location! The decent people here NEED a grocery store ! Please don't leave but PLEASE make this a better experience for shoppers. GET CHECKERS !

This used to be my second favorite grocery store to shop at but no more...it has become absolutely filthy. The parking lot is always full of trash, the restrooms are disgusting and there are always homeless people asking for money. I just cannot anymore...ugh! Safeway please fix this!

All the yogurt is expired. The prices are too high, period panties are $20 for seven pack in here but on Amazon it's seven dollars and some change for a seven pack.

Went in last night to grab a couple of last-minute stuff for dinner. I was helped at the checkstand by a older blonde woman. She was very rude and had a bad attitude. She was telling me and other customers what we were/ were not going to do. She was also yelling at this customer for "going the wrong" while trying to go to the bathroom. Not sure what her name was but she was working over by the alchool.

This Safeway has a nice selection. however their staff is very unprofessional and rude. The clerks up front didn't greet us nor were ever welcoming. The baristas in their Starbucks are very impatient, when taking your order. We felt rushed, as we were deciding, the barista rolled her eyes after explaining we wanted something else with our order. would not recommended this place.

Poor customer service. I've been coming here for years and the service has steadily declined. All the cashiers seem unhappy and they're usually distracted by visiting with co workers. Come on Safeway. Your prices are higher than other stores but your service doesn't support the prices. Put your customers first.

BAKERY! DO NOT ORDER FROM THIS BAKERY!!!!! My sister had paid for a FULL SHEET CAKE due to the amount of people that were attending the party, and sent me to pick it up. The day I went to pick up the cake which was SUNDAY, the girl at the bakery who was also the one who took the order ! Tried arguing back and forth with me that it was Saturday. We went back and forth until i pulled my phone out for her stupid ass to see that the day in fact WAS SUNDAY. Once she realized the day she knew she fucked up. And tried to blame it on others and said I can go to customer service because she doesn't know what's going on. Her name was "Aubrey" S/O to the customer service manager Lily who made things right with a full refund and a cake that they had already in the case. Which of course was still not enough for our guest. They never made the cake, didn't know where THEIR COPY of the receipt was either. The order was paid for and placed the day before. There is no excuse. I highly recommend to purchase your cake and baked goods else where. Perhaps the Safeway on Pacific will be best!!! Or even a fucking Costco cake. My family and i will never be ordering from here again. Do not waste your time or go though the same experience on the day of your event.

I am so pissed off my husband and I came in to shop my husband had to go to the restroom this security gaurd follow him in restroom and watch hIm pee and then follow out do you how awful that is treated him like he stole something this is so wrong I know you guys are not going do anything I am going to broadcast all over social media

I don't like this Safeway very much and since I was threatened by another customer right in front of the security guard- I hardly go back. This time I just used the gas station ans everything worked fine. The air pump was working for my tire that needed some love. Gas price was good compared to other stations near by. It was somewhat clean but you had a few panhandles and other people that might make some uncomfortable. Not a big deal for me.

I commend their customer service, Panchi for being helpful and patient. She explained and show how the clip coupon works. Definitely a plus to Safeway. I am completely and totally satisfied with her service.

Horrible customer service. Why have a phone if it's not being answered. Unfortunately I dropped my wallet and didn't realize it until I was home 1.5 hours away. Tried calling for three days straight and no answer. HORRIBLE. Will never shop here again, this Safeway is the dirtiest store in California. It's parking lot is filled with trash. Drive an extra 8 minutes and visit their Pacific Ave Store.

This review is specifically for the BAKERY. I went to the country club location to buy a small 8 inch cake for my mom. As soon as I walked up this short older girl with tattoos a little on the heavier side, I think she had green eyes and was either white or Mexican. She didn't have a name tag cause I sure would mention her name. Anyways, she had a HORRIBLE attitude right from the beginning. I said I was there to pay for a cake I that I already put in earlier that week and she just stared at me with a blank look and said "well I need a name!" I was like okay well I was waiting for you to respond. She starts half ass looking through the box and was even looking at all the orders with the toys on them and I said "just FYI you don't have to look at the orders with toys on them it's for my moms 54th" she said in return "well I'm looking at them anyways" omg I was appalled. THEN she said it's not here. I was like "are you sure I was here in person when they took my order". Then she said "YOU SEEN ME LOOK THROUGH IT DIDNT YOU" omg I almost asked for a manager. So then today I come back and thank god she wasn't there. I pick up my moms cake and this other lady says "we don't have the right size box but this should be fine" it was way too big. I was like "won't it slide around?" She insured me it would not. I put the cake in the front seat, drove extra careful. When I got home the whole top layer of the cake slid off smh... so I had to drive all the way back and have them do it again. The girl doing it said "well maybe if I don't put the jelly all the way to the edges" like what?! Shouldn't you have known that. She was nice it was an honest mistake but the girl who I had to deal with in the beginning makes me not want to ever go to that Safeway again. The nerve of her... "didn't you see me look through both those boxes" like if you hate your job girl then just get a different one. I couldn't believe it.

If I could give No star would be No star. I ordered a cake wanted It gold with red burgundy. Ask the girl taking order if possible she said yes. I ordered 1/4 TRES LECHES CAKE WITH WHIPPED CREAM.when I went to pick up today the cake was not gold nor yellow and it was PINK instead of RED BURGUNDY. I told girl oh no I can't take that for my son can you fix it for me I wanted red burgundy and yellow She gave me a very unpleasant attitude No I can't fix it we have no whipped cream and another associate added some sprinkles and blue ballons because THEY SAY IT COULD NOT BE FIXED. to top it off ITS BUTTERY CREAM. Very disappointed Nothing like We wanted. My son hates buttercream... THANK YOU SAFEWAY FOR MAKING WRONG FOR HIM. Worse experience ever.... safeway bakery on Countryclub Stockton California if I put bad review is because last Time I order my cake it wasn't made. They gave me what they had in counter for sale I had to choose one of those last time ...I should Never go to this store AGAIN....

Why aren't there any shopping carts. Been here 5 times and each time I had to hunt the parking lot for a cart. I don't think that i'll be coming back. And rarely are there carts out in the lot. You have to follow a shopper with a cart going to their car.

I'm not a regular here but when I have stopped by I have found what I needed. It's conveniently located off the freeway for me. I've stopped by mostly for the bakery and the flower shop departments. During the covid-19 pandemic the DMV and AAA are both closed. After a quick google search I realized this Safeway has a dmv machine. And I thought sweet!!! I was able to quickly renew my registration and get my tags right there and then.

Mind you my husband is a driver who worked the whole pandemic for Safeway! Went to the store today and was absolutely repulsed by Suzanna a checker and how rude she was. I have been coming to this store for years and the service by the checkers is always amazing but this lady wow it's one thing when a customer is trying to be friendly to you but when you respond in such a rude manor infront of other customers it's absolutely embarrassing.

WORST Safeway I have ever been to. Employees are rude and they follow you everywhere. They didn't even let me have the code to the bathroom like the Safeway on pacific does. I had to wait for somebody to open the door and when I asked the lady right by the restroom she told me she'll call someone, as if she couldn't open it for me. They are extremely rude here and I make it an effort to drive an extra 6 miles to the one on pacific just to avoid this location. Very horrible customer service, and it surprised me because I've never had an issue at any other Safeway, just this one. I advise to not go here and GOTO the one on pacific avenue. The watermelons and fruit here also are spoiled most of the time i go here and I have to return them, and they always give me an attitude when I return them as I'm trying to scam the store when all I want is fruit that is fresh. Will never go back to this location again.

What a horrible first impression. I've known Safeway for the courtesy and hospitality staff always shown for customers. This location shows if you don't have people who truly care, or know how to control their bad day, it all could go bad quickly. As a manager, I have an expectation from my staff. They all know it well because every Monday we have a staff meeting. "Our Round Table" Training and practice is a must. I also walk around and engage customers. I understand the time limitations but don't really believe it can not be done. Simple hello, did you find everything you need, or can I help with something is always good to hear. My bad first impression was truly a sad one because it shows "Books are still judged by its cover" . I was limping so to an injury on my left foot. Carts were all out in parking lot as I was in need of one. I was on the east side of the store, the lane where they keep the karts was empty with the exception of on kart at the other end. Jack pot! I headed down and right when I was going to grab it, Adrian was pushing in a stack of karts. I counted 9 and not only did he almost hit me with them, but left me no room to get to the other side. The saddest part, we made eye contact and he knew what he was doing. I wonder if I would have the same luck if I would have been a beautiful lady or simply wearing my suit? Didn't apologize, talking to him self as if he was complaining about what he was doing, and seemed upset. I just looked and for the most part he just walked away with out a word. The experience inside was that of an old New Deal or Market you find in some places that give you the feeling you are on your own. Walked around, got my stuff and went to pay. Nice gentleman but a little plushie with the rewards card. But that's ok. As I am walking out, Adrian sees me and I know the look from years of training and experience with staff. "Maybe if I look bz he won't see me or say anything". And you are right. The pain I had would have set off a wrong conversation and that I won't have. So here is my advise and this actually goes for everyone who works in customer service. I believe the customer has a right but is not always right. A right to ask, a right to question, complaint and freely present a case. A customers rep job is to listen, watch, be attentive to everyone because you never know who is walking by. Bad day, no problem, leave it at the door. Other team member not picking up the slack, no problem. Take care of their job, your job and do it with pride. Even if it kills you inside. The solution to everything is communication. Don't close the Chanel and don't treat any customer any different than the next. That alone, goes a long ways. I know tough days, I know bad days, I know situations, but a form of mistreatment and disrespect like that, not tolerated by me. Most important, it should not be tolerable by you. Last but not least, I am not from this area, I will not be coming back to the store to improve my rating. That needs to be considered in every aspect of business. Hope this helps for the future. Store inside looks very nice.

I'm a fan of Safeway in general, but this one is by far the worst I have been to. Understaffed in most all departments- such as check out, deli and bakery. Slow service each time I'm there, even when they are not busy. The bakery makes some delicious cakes but getting them to do exactly what you want never works out. You are better off picking a cake from the display and having them write what you want on it. As for the deli, don't go after 4pm expecting good fried chicken or good service. This is the place you stop by if you have lots of time and patience. Be warned...

How can you operate a grocery store without shopping carts for the customers to take their groceries to the car.

Well to start off , I had picked up my arangment in the fridge floral department. As I was going into the checkout line. I noticed that the left side flowers were "dying" I had asked the lady behind the cashier. If she knew where the florist person was (since it was empty) she had mentioned how she is covering their front department. She called her over and said for me. "The girl checking out does not like the flowers could you replace the welted ones"The florist replied "she doesn't have to take them. She can put them back" Such a snarky tone. i was soo confused because 1) how rude? And 2) just wow totally took everything out of context. Now angrily the florist / who is covering the front check out lane. Says " i cant personally pick out flowers to replace the one. Take it as it and walked off. I kept my composer in a professional tone. And said ok thanks. Again im at the supermarket. Trying to get some flowers for my great grandmothers birthday. So i excused her tone and never mind ill put these back myself. I Will not be getting made a fool of and. She was older than me. Im (30) but you get the point. She could of simply said no. And carry on with my purchase. But she went into a whole spiral conversation about the season's flowers. How she can not absolutely not replace the "dead ones". I walked out with my own separate purchases. I hope to never run into such unpleasant human. Not even a hey sorry about that. Just typical snooty older lady who has an "i hate my job" attitude. She walked passed me as i was leaving and nothing. I thought maybe she'll excuse her unprofessionalism? NOPE. Please dont ask for help from her. Didn't see a name tag. Tall older Hispanic woman with hair to her shoulders. Who works there.

This is the worst Safeway in the area, including Lodi. Especially the Bakery department, they never have toys for the cakes they offer. Even worse the bank transaction machine at the register, has been broken for over a year. So if you do get lucky and find a cake(good luck they didn't have the 3 I tried to order)you like and order it, they make you walk to the front of the store to pay for it, then you have to walk back to the Bakery to finish your order. Not sure what management is doing, but the obviously need Kiki Owens from the Pacific store, and Lodi before that, she clearly knows how to run and fix stores. Maybe they Should just make Kiki district manager, so all Safeway stores are awesome in the area. Just sayin!

I normally love coming to this starbucks location. Sometimes it can be a little bit of a wait but I feel like the employee are very nice and actually want to get to known you except one of the girls. Shes one of the newer girl i believe her name was angel. Not only was she rude to me but to the other employee she was working with. The whole time she had a nasty look on her face. I will probably be returning to this starbucks location if she is working. It's too bad because it was close to my house, was able to use my EBT, and do some grocery shopping as while.

This review is mainly for the Deli. I come to this Safeway only to get sandwiches and once in a while gas. I never bought anything other than the food from the deli. If you have a Safeway club card you can add chips , any size soda and a small soup for a dollar each. I've tried the sushi here, it's okay but a little to pricy for me. I'll get more only if they lower the price. But I don't see that happening anytime soon. I like the way the make the sandwiches here a lot. They are not stingy at all with the meat. The veggies are limited here. The bread they use is very good. I wish I could say more about the rest of the store. They do have a Starbucks inside and also a Redbox. They also have a gas station on the outside. So yes I'll be coming back only for the sandwiches :) Vincent D *VD* Enjoying the simple things in life

I am happy with Safeway delivery, and seeing some of the review comments about the in-store service I'm even happier with it. I use the Safeway app on my iPhone. It keeps a running $total of selected items, making grocery budgeting a breeze. I shop all week adding items as the need arises and dropping others to fit my budget. You can shop by searching, by aisle, or by previous order(s). It honors your club card, 2 for 1, and Just 4 U. I pay $4 service and $4 delivery fees (2 mi from store). I prefer it to Instacart which overall is for me more expensive. Last I looked, no other grocery delivery was available in Stockton. My deliveries are on time. You can give (terse) instructions to your shopper in case the item is unavailable, or just choose no substitutions, which is pretty safe as i find only 0-1-2 items out of stock on my orders of about 30. I'd like to see an option shop from a list of frequently ordered items, in addition to previous order and all orders, and I find the delivery receipt hard to decipher.

I love their delivery service, I like most of their checkers (except for Joseph who is a miserable, rude bastard who seems to hate his job), though they sometimes let the lines get far too long before opening another checkstand. Their deli is awesome, and if you stick to yellow tags, you can often beat the deals just about anywhere else. Their generic lines are also much better than Walmart, or Winco. Their pharmacy is also top-notch, and far better than Walmart. However, due to the extremely ghetto environment that Fontana crap-house court has become (my wife actually witnessed a person coming into the store trying to flee would be gangbangers who was beaten and kicked ghetto style by two people right inside the store!), rife with drug addict thieves and transient human garbage using the catwalk bridge to Monte Diablo next to the sewage facility; the liquor department at Safeway has become a debacle due to theft. Their deals are great, but they have even removed the call button, so they are not "annoyed" by customers hoping to make a purchase. Therefore, one must locate an employee with a key and this can be like going to the DMV! Awful. Their "customer service" department is also often closed and the wait is far too long to get help.

Clean the freaking bathroom. Seriously disgusting. Smells like literal feces. Store is fine but why can't the bathroom have a working fan or be cleaned. Not a bathroom you should expect when shopping at a "name brand" place like Safeway..

Called the bakery about a order for Halloween. The person who answered wasn't helpful whatsoever. Makes me sad that this store is closest to my house but I drive to the other one out north because they seem nicer and more competent.

Just did a home delivery grocery order from Safeway for the first time. Delivery driver (Troy) was professional and courteous and careful, everything arrived in good condition (I like that they have refrigerated section on truck for perishables). A few substitutions per our parameters, but definitely excellent shopping delivery experience, thank you!

I went to this Safeway and would have spent more money, but there were no grocery carts available. The store was not even quarter full. Personnel were professional, however, the shopping experience overall was not enjoyable.

It's always something with this Safeway not sure why their no t closed down, went in to pick up my 54 cupcakes and a petite cake and my order wasn't ready and the persons working the bakery needs to be retrained awful service and made me an hour late for my party.

I don't know about in-store shopping, but the delivery service was a flop. Granted, we ordered on July 3 for a July 4 (1 to 2 pm) delivery. Never got the groceries, never heard a thing from them. We followed up around 2:30 pm with a service representative, who was nice but could do nothing for us except report that the store was understaffed to handle the amount of orders for delivery. July 4 came and went, and today (July 5), upon calling the store directly, we found out that the order was not fulfilled, not charged, and should be considered canceled. Goodbye, Safeway Country Club delivery service. We will look elsewhere.

Friendly staff members, always ask how you are doing, see if you need anything. Produce and meats are great! Seafood counter nice and clean too! Have only been shopping here at this one since we moved here and discovered it. Only problem we have ever seen is that they are consistently short on cashiers and it does not seem fair to them that they do not have enough helpers.
