Saffire - Review - Franklin - Nashville - The Infatuation

"Like the prodigal son who returned, Saffire reopened its doors in The Factory after a six-year hiatus. Plenty of Franklinites have fond memories of celebrating anniversaries, birthdays, and their cousin Mary Beth’s cotillion graduation there, and it’s still the place to do exactly that. It’s calculatedly rustic, with the original factory windows, and a 300-year-old wooden bar that anchors the room. Tying it all together are the wood-fired Southern masterpieces, like the slow-smoked prime rib served alongside horseradish mashed potatoes and the pork chop slathered in a peach-chili glaze." - Jackie Gutierrez-Jones

This was our first time visiting Saffire. The menu has a combination of southern dishes with a few Cajun options thrown in. Being from southern Louisiana I am always hesitant to try Cajun food anywhere outside of my home state. I asked our server about the gumbo and he said the chef was from Baton Rouge so I gave it a try. It was a mistake. Gumbo is a soup made with a roux which thickens it but it shouldn’t be the consistency of gravy like this is. It was also way too spicy. I hate when people think Cajun food means overly peppery. The spice is for flavor not for heat. Also, tomatoes in gumbo is a big NO! Moving on….the truffle fries were amazing. I’m usually not a fan and most are just average but these are special. The burger was also really good. Lastly, the fried chicken over mac and cheese and greens was good but honestly not great. All in all the atmosphere was enjoyable and our service was good. We’ll be back.

Went to the farmers market and saw this place had opened recently. We went for brunch. Not a ton of options but everything was delicious. The gumbo was very flavorful with a little heat. Definitely recommend!!! The burger was delicious with plenty of toppings. Lots of blue cheese crumbles! The fried chicken was over mac and cheese with collard greens. It was amazing also highly recommend! I didn't know i liked collard greens. Definitely recommend this restaurant.

Great food, enjoyed the chicken fried chicken. It was flavorful inside out. Grate service. Our cups are always filled up. We were sat at a dim part of the restaurant so it was little less fun but it’s ok. Will come back for food.

My friend and I had lunch at Saffire earlier this week. We ordered the Ribbon Salad that the server recommended and the pasta to share. The candied pecans and veggie crips made the salad! The pasta was light and full of flavor. It wasn't too busy, so perfect for a lunch meeting. All in all, a great lunch and we can't wait to come back and check out the dinner menu.

What I got (the beet salad) was good and well-prepared but incredibly small for the price. The staff was super friendly. The entire salad, before the first bite was taken, in its entirety is pictured. Again, it was good, but the size was surprising for a lunch salad (it should have been marketed as a side salad). Only brunch for lunch on Saturdays and limited menu.

No longer a go-to brunch location with a broad menu, full bar, in a large, eclectic bistro setting. Service at the bar was poor. Our dessert order was not put in until we asked where it was. The Classic burger is good, can be customized and the serving of shoestring fries is large. The shrimp in the Créole Shrimp and grits are tail on, and really it was like warm salsa topping. The vanilla ice cream on the berry tart looks like it has finger marks. The wine list is sort , but diverse.

We ate at Safire for the first time, and loved it. We met friends for dinner & drinks before a show at Studio Tenn and highly recommend Saffire (and Studio Tenn). Against my better judgement, I ordered the Chicken Fried Chicken with collard greens & Mac & Cheese. This isn’t really my thing, but it was recommended by my friend and again by restaurant staff. It was outstanding, and I’ll probably get it again next time (although both the pork chop and the meatloaf look interesting. The pacing was relaxed, the staff & ownership friendly and the entire experience enjoyable. I look forward to returning.

Omg SAFFIRE IS BACK!! And better than ever I might add. The food and service were top notch! We started with the Steak Biscuits and these are a MUST. They must have a fairy in the back making the biscuits because they literally melt in your mouth and the steak is so flavorful and tender! The beet salad was sooooooooooo good. The contrast between the sweet beet and the salty cheese and the citrus was just the perfect combo. Also shared the calamari salad and that may have been one of my favorite things. So good I didn't get a pic! The fish sandwich was cooked PERFECTLY and loved the dip sandwich as well. Dessert was a treat! The cheesecake may have been the fluffiest cheesecake on earth and even turned a non-cheesecake fan into one, but the star of the sweets was definitely the blueberry cobbler. The atmosphere was fantastic and so were the cocktails. Service was amazing. Get to Saffire in the Factory ASAP!!!
