I treated my mom to this and she’s only eaten Indian food a few times but this one is her favorite. Highly recommend getting the bread bowl and just mixing and matching the breads with each dish, Kulcha was my favorite as an onion lover. The flavor with each dish was just so deep and complex too with big portions and good prices. Service was also really great they were attentive and everyone was nice. I’d definitely do pick up for a party as well since it’s very shareable. The menu is full of classic and unique dishes I left excited to try more menu items when I’m not full LOL.

Google
This was unfortunately the worst Chicken Tikka Masala I’ve ever had. Very oily & flavorless. Even the Naan bread was very basic. My wife’s dish was swimming in oily something & nothing looked appetizing.

Arif S.

Google
The food was really tasty, portions were also good and service was fast. Special thanks to Rocky if I remember his name correctly, as he allowed our group of 8 people with kids to seat as we reached there just before they stopped taking dine-in order. Will definitely visit again.

Google
Went here for the first time and was pretty impressed. The tandoori chicken and biryani were both some of the best I’ve ever tasted! The environment was nice and the design was fitting of the quality of food, though the lack of windows felt a bit claustrophobic. Everyone there was very nice and helpful! The only real negative was that it took nearly an hour for the food to arrive. They weren’t especially busy, but it was pretty early (around 4:30) so that could be why. Still, I wish they would have at least brought out bread as we waited, since my whole party was very hungry. Don’t take that as a reason not to come here, though. The food was well worth the wait! The bread assortment was fresh, well portioned and tasted amazing. The mango lassi was probably the best I’ve had… definitely the best in the area. I’ll definitely be returning and if you’re craving authentic Indian food, you should try Saffron!

Google
Saturday Night Score! My wife and I went to Saffron’s $20 Saturday buffet and WOW! Amazing value for incredible food. Top picks: - Chili Shrimp (spicy perfection!) - Butter Chicken (rich & creamy) - Free Naan (fresh & flavorful) - Palak Paneer (creamy spinach goodness) - Chicken Kadai (aromatic & savory) Service was top-notch too! Friendly staff, attentive & knowledgeable. 5/5 stars Definitely going back! Great spot for foodies, couples, families, or a Saturday night out! Highly recommended!

Google
No frills AYCE Indian buffet. We came for late lunch on a weekend and there was plenty of seating. We essentially sat ourselves and immediately hit the buffet line. Food seemed generally fresh and well kept. Favorites were Gobi Manchurian and Palak paneer. Dessert option (rice pudding?) was great, but fruit tray was not impressive. For $20, Saffron is authentic and has a good amount of variety. Parking is annoying during peak times. Only 1 entrance and the front fills up quickly while certain spots in the back are reserved for other stores.

Google
It was a takeout so I can’t judge the atmosphere. The food was delicious. They gave us generous portions. I’m especially happy with the amount of sauce they gave with the Samosa. Other places usually give you a small ketchup size container. Look at the pictures to see how much sauce we got. The butter chicken cause was creamy and thick unlike other places that serve you watered down sauce. All in all, I would order from here again.

Google
Finally an Indian restaurant who can really impress with their taste. Tried jackfruit biryani, panee lababdar, daal maharani and achari gobi. All of the dishes were outstanding. Paneer had a very enjoyable smoky flavor. This is a must try, will be coming back.

Yelp
Good Indian food. Been here multiple times in restaurant and takeout. Be careful, it can be extremely spicy if you request it. Enjoyed the curry lamb with spinach. Good chicken dishes. Solid food in a comfortable, unfancy, booth. The times we've been there, there were ballons on the ceiling from I presume earlier kids' birthday parties, so they seem family friendly.

Yelp
We've gotten take out as well as eaten here. The food is great, the restaurant is a bit small and I wish the buffet had more options. I found it weird that they don't serve chai during the buffet. The floor was also kind of very sticky when we came to eat in which was also strange. Service could be a bit more attentive We will probably stick to take out cause it's pretty good and I think that's what they are good at.

Yelp
This place is good. Everything is well seasoned. Valid Indian restaurant in the falls church area. I would go back regularly and that's all that needs to be said.

Yelp
My favorite Indian place hands down. Consistently delicious, and a fabulous lunch buffet. The vegetarian offerings are always perfect, I almost never save room for the meat and dessert dishes.

Taylor K.

Yelp
I love this place. It is my go-to Indian takeout in the area. The food is really spicy though and I don't handle lots of spice well. I love korma but it's so spicy here even on the lowest level of spice so that's the only downside for me.

Timothy E.

Yelp
I have eaten there about 5 times in the last two months, and brought take out home. It doesn't look like much from the outside, but the food is outstanding. Haven't found a dish I didn't like, but if they ask you what spice level you want, and you haven't been there before, go with mild.

Yelp
I've passed by this location so many times. After researching over 5 different Indian lunch buffets, I stumbled upon Saffron. The local Yelpers got it right! The food here was amazing. I loved the butter chicken, gobi manchurian, goat curry and the palak paneer. Flavors and service was on point. With over 10 dishes to choose from and the value under $25 for lunch in NOVA this was a steal. I arrived with my friend shortly after 1130 on a rainy Saturday and this place got packed quickly. The food was already ready to serve and the buffet station was really clean. Inside theres plenty of seating for all parties. The front can be a little tight with the buffet line and people waiting for their carry out orders. Parking is limited in the front, but theres plenty of spaces in the back. Just beware of the narrow spaces and theres no exit to the main road in the back. Highly recommend if you want quality Indian. I will definitely be back to try their other speciality dishes.

Yelp
We loved the food from here. We ordered takeout. We were surprised by their generous portions! It took us a few meals to completely devour their delicious food! -Ian loved their Biriyani. We opted for "mild" flavor and it was the right heat for him. -Humongous portions on their entree's -Entree's came with sides. Rice & Raita. -Chicken Biriyani had huge chunks of Chicken which was delicious marinated & tender! -Goat Biriyani had great flavor. -Goat Korma was cooked thoroughly. I scooped out all the Oil/Butter and it was healthy eats afterwards. I definitely recommend this Indian restaurant if you are in this neighborhood!

Yelp
Our current go-to for all the buffet needs Interior: I'll be honest, the interior is kinda small, a bit dingy. The parking is tough. But you're in for a treat Food: pretty good variety with mutton/goat curry; some sort of biryani, chicken tikka/butter chicken, fish, chick peas. The flavors are all on point and it's somewhat an open kitchen. Price: from what I remember, pretty reasonable in the $15-20 range for weekday Overall: 5/5

Yelp
Food was amazing. All you can eat for $20 what a deal. The staff was great and patient We didn't know protocol and they taught us how to eat their delicious food.

Yelp
Quality food. They did a good job with the lighting and tables. Servers are always very nice.

Yelp
D E L I C I O U S! We have always wanted to try this place for lunch for their buffet and it did not disappoint. The experience from the very catering and friendly service to the ambiance was great! Each dish was hot and freshly prepared and most importantly, was very tasty! Lunch time was busy around 1230 as each table was occupied. Make sure to check in on Yelp for a special treat! Will definitely be back! Enjoy!

Yelp
This restaurant is situated in a small strip mall. I would advise finding a way to make a right turn into the area vs left because the left turn is super hard when there is traffic. Lastly the parking lot and restaurant are both small so pre plan if your going to come during a rush hour. That being said I ordered the garlic nan, butter chicken, and paneer. Both tasted really good and comparable to other good Indian restaurants I've been to. Service was also good, and the waiter had great suggestions for appetizers. I definitely will consider coming back here, but probably on off hours.

Anna M.

Yelp
Food was amazing as always! Got the Josh Rogan, goat biryani and lamb vindaloo. Tasty

Larry L.

Yelp
Three of us had dinner at Saffron last night and enjoyed the best Indian food that we have experienced in Northern Virginia! The restaurant is in an unassuming strip mall in Falls Church that offers ample parking. We began the meal with palak chaat, and followed that with lamb rogan gosh, palak paneer, dal maharani, and chicken korma. We also had the mint paratha. All of the food was delicious, but the standout was the palak paneer which was so much more favorable than other restaurants. We had more than enough to eat, and the helpful staff provided sturdy containers for our leftovers! A wonderful evening at a wonderful restaurant!

L B.

Yelp
This restaurant is in an older strip mall near our house and my husband and I really tried it by chance as we were walking past one night, it's definitely not jumping out as a destination. We would now consider ourselves regulars. The food is really wonderful, generous portions, not salty at all which we are both sensitive to and reasonably priced. The service is lovely, we are always greeted warmly and they are very attentive. I need to try more on the menu, but am currently stuck on the butter chicken and yellow lentils (not the Indian name), and haven't been able to try anything else. The butter chicken is really the best I've ever had. Highly recommend!!

Yelp
Visited this past weekend for their lunch buffet. $20 a person can't be beat and the food was excellent. So excellent, I had to go home and take a 3 hour nap after because I was so stuffed. The buffet options were plentiful; my favorites were the butter chicken, the goat option, the samosas, and the mushroom & jackfruit. I'd never tried jackfruit cooked but I definitely understand now how it can be a meat substitute - so delicious! The eggplant option was also great and spicy. We ordered mango lassi which offset the heat and was my favorite. Naan was served and we ordered a second round which took a while, however, the waiter let us take this home because we were too full which was nice. Service was good; the only complaint I have is that the water glass I first received had lipstick on it. I asked to have them replace this and they brought two new glasses which were a lot cleaner. Parking is a little tricky as the lot fills up quick but they do have some options in the back. This is located right in falls church off the W&OD trail. A walk there after eating next time might help offset all the food! I'm glad I discovered this spot as it'll help my butter chicken cravings in the future. Highly recommend!

Yelp
Quick visit because I just had a taste for Indian food and I stumbled upon here! Came around 1pm so it was still lunch time and I didn't realize they only serve a lunch buffet. I was a bit hesitate since I do not eat red meats, but the employee went over each item at the buffet with me and boy was it delicious! Everything was piping hot and the taste was on point. The butter chicken and rice was melt in your mouth good. There was also a vegetable something with a puff pastry that I enjoyed just as much. I also ordered naan bread on the side that came as part of the buffet. In all it was $20 including a sprite that was $2/$3. The only thing I was sad about is I couldn't stuff myself to the brim since I had a 3 hour drive back! Thankfully I'll be moving to the area, so I will definitely visit here soon again.

Yelp
So sorry to update my very favorable review pre Covid however my hb and I had dinner in house recently and I was so unbelievably, surprisingly disappointed that I can no longer recommend....i am wondering if Covid had some role in the lazy, inventive dishes---just the really old same old, same tomato tasteless and tough lamb dish! Head over to Gallows Rd nr Merrifield ((forgot name) but is worth looking up!! Exciting flavors....

Yelp
The service at this restaurant is absolutely horrendous, even when the restaurant is completely empty. You could sit there all night with an empty glass of water and they won't fill it until you waive them down. Knowing that, if you choose to dine in, don't wait to flag them down like we did, or you'll thoroughly Not enjoy your meal. Why is the service so bad? Well I think because their focusing all their energy on the take out orders, for which there are many. I'll say, their food is excellent, highly flavored, and seriously HUGE portions! So, if I were you, I definitely wouldn't miss eating at this spot! Just learn our lesson (we've tried twice to eat in now) and skip straight to ordering your food take out.

Yelp
Food is flavorful and scrumptious. Smaller buffet but good options. The service is great. Folks are friendly. The atmosphere is casual. Looks like the restaurant interior was newly refreshed and updated. One of my favorite Indian buffets.

Yelp
OKAY. If your spice tolerance is low like mine, stick to a "1" spice level or "2" if you're feeing adventurous. Don't get a "3" thinking you'll be fine because you won't be. I was tearing up. The food was good, but I'm weak. Additionally, I prefer mild tasting food for the most part so I have no idea why I got a "3". I like that the entrees here come with basmati rice and naan. Most Indian places make you pay a few bucks for a small pieces of naan but this restaurant gives you a basket of deliciously soft (a bit chewy) and flavorful naan. I could literally eat the naan on its own and it'd be fine. CHICKEN KORMA - 17 So being the dummy that I am, I decided to go for "3" because why not? Well, it was too spicy for me so after a few bites, my eyes and nose started watering. The spice was overpowering the flavor of the curry so it was hard for me to truly enjoy it but I still thought it was good. The curry was creamy and it went well with both rice and naan. The naan definitely helps with the amount of spice more for sure. They give you a good amount of chicken which makes it worth. Overall, lots of food and more than enough for lunch the next day if you don't eat a lot like me. Again, next time I'll probably just stick to "1" to be safe, HAHA. Good food, good portions. Love the complementary naan here - also it's not too greasy which I like. Definitely will come back soon to try other options (and also get a milder spice level for myself, lol).

Yelp
I ordered the tomato based paneer dish and it was literally paneer in Campbell's tomato soup with cilantro. Not cool. I usually cook for my family but i got the flu and had to order in. So disappointing that a restaurant can get away with this.

Yelp
We came to check out Saffron for their lunch buffet, something that you see that is a bit rare these days due to uncertain times. They had a very modest spread, inclusive of goat vindaloo, butter chicken, Chili 65 fish, palak paneer, tandoori chicken, and aloo gobi. There is definitely more of a kick here as it was heavy on the heat. The chicken in the butter chicken was a bit dry, and the curry itself was a bit thin and more sweeter than I was used to. The palak paneer was savory and creamy, and the potatoes in the aloo gobi could have been cooked a little bit longer. I did like the Chili 65, as it was both sweet and spicy, and the fish was flaky and tasty. I really enjoyed their orange custard, as while it was thin, it was a great sweet finishing with chunks of citrus throughout - yum! I am thinking that ordering off of their menu a la carte is the better option, as it may be prepared differently? Service here was very kind and friendly; they checked-in on all the tables often, our waters were always refilled, and used plates were taken away promptly. The place is not too big, but intimate enough; I think the restaurant is conscientious of not mass producing, as there was a wait for some items on the buffet that was out; also, there was more priority for those who had placed their orders. Plenty of parking in the plaza lot. +currently offers lunch buffet +friendly staff +orange custard +parking in strip plaza lot

Yelp
It's a small restaurant that puts out solid Indian cuisine. We visited for dinner and returned for the buffet afterwards too. Most of the buffet entrees stay the same as far as I can tell. The options they offer are delicious. Service is very friendly and they'll check on you often to make sure you have what you need. Can't really ask for more. Lunch buffet is a great deal although they raised their prices recently, it's still a great deal for what you receive. Check it out if you're on the fence.

Luisa C.

Yelp
Favorite Indian restaurant in the area. Don't be fooled if the restaurant looks slow or empty. Their carry out and catering is delicious and generous portions. The Korma is excellent, all of the curries and breads are yummy and we love the samosas. Come here almost every week.
google avatar

Consumer E.

Yelp
Best vindaloo ever, amazing garlic naan and the nicest staff. We have a wide choice of great Indian restaurants in the Tyson's area, but even though prices have increased everywhere, this is still my reliable go-to for years.
google avatar

Sophia P.

Yelp
The food here never disappoints, the service is good and the people are nice! This will continue to be my favorite Indian restaurant!

S W.

Yelp
For me, it was a nightmare. My order was for Daal and Aalu Gobi. I came onto a piece of chicken, which was completely unexpected. I wanted to throw up. The worst slight to The most embarrassing thing about being the host was that my friend is a vegetarian. I want the "SAFFRON -Falls church" services to be discontinued, and I want everyone at Uber to act strictly. I plan to share my terrible experiences on all social media platforms, maybe saving others from going through what I went through. For myself, I demand a complete order return. and Uber Eats' counter-SaffRON-Fals church location action plan. It's a serious violation of food quality standards.
google avatar

Jueju W.

Yelp
Amazing place, I've been coming here for years. The service is great and staff is really nice. As someone who routinely went to India 4-5 times a year for 7 years, this is as close as it gets.
google avatar

L. M.

Yelp
Wow! Decided to give Saffron a try based on the reviews. Sooo glad we did! It's now a solid in our restaurant rotation! Outstanding flavors, good size portions, great prices and friendly staff. Don't hesitate! Only giving 4 stars because of the busy take-out line when you enter restaurant and visual from dining room.
google avatar

Madison B.

Yelp
This place is the best Indian food in the Arlington area! Both dal were absolutely fantastic as well as the chana masala. This will be my new go to Indian restaurant in the future.
google avatar

Tori L.

Yelp
We loved it, the food came out fast and hot very fresh which was nice. The naan was some of the best I've ever had. I would ask for the cilantro and green onions to be held off next time but can't wait to go back.
google avatar

Yelp
My hubby and I ordered a feast during Covid via DoorDash, the food arrived pipping hot in 45 min. Each curry dish came with a heaping bowl of Basmati rice! The food is mild/medium spicy and a bit cheaper than some local Indian delivery restaurants like Haandi and Sapphire. Methi Mutter Korma (5/5) - Stand-out dish and highlight of our meal! The creamy gravy (korma) was bursting with flavor and loaded with peas (mutter) and tender chunks of soft paneer. The restaurant wasn't skimpy with the paneer, there were about a dozen pieces. The Korma even beats my all time favorite at Spice 6. Palak Paneer (2/5) - Not my favorite. The palak spinach gravy is really runny and oily. While the spinach tasted fresh, it was too oily to enjoy. The soft chunks of paneer was the best part. Chicken Tikka (5/5) - My hubby enjoyed the tikka, the spices were spot on. I'll take his word on it! Garlic Naan & Plain Naan (3/5) - While the naan is ginormous and larger than the size of my head and hubby's combined, it's very dense and soggy. It's best when it's fresh! Samosas (5/5) - The crispy crunchy shell was tasty while the potatoes and pea had a nice spicy kick! The plump samosas were the size of my fist and quite filling. Perfect for dunking in the Korma! Whenever I'm craving some Korma, Saffron is my go-to!
google avatar

Vincent K.

Yelp
Best spot to go to if you're craving some Indian cuisine. We come here at lunch and get their lunch buffet and it's freaking amazing. Service is quick, naan is HOT and crispy. Ambiance nice.
google avatar

Tina S.

Yelp
The best lamb rogan Josh I've ever had...basmati was a bit dried out. And they were grinding/blending something loudly the entire meal so it was hard to have a conversation. I'll definitely be back for the lamb though, but maybe carry out.

A A.

Yelp
Surprisingly bland food. Ordered takeout, and the butter chicken and chicken tikka were dry and the sauces were almost flavorless. Pass on this place.

ella g.

Yelp
Went to Sunday lunch buffet and it was excellent, maybe the best I've found anywhere. Each dish was superbly flavored with a distinct flavor and spice, not too spicy though. It was also not greasy, which can be common. I highly recommend it.
google avatar

Van H.

Yelp
The selection is not that wide, but each dish is very good. There is also cool art on the walls.

Yelp
My work gave me an uber wats voucher. They are actually the homies!! I was tryna figure out what to order. As I was looking through the app I stumbled upon this indian place so decided to try it out. As soon as I picked up my delivery bag of food, I already smelled the waft of indian curry. MMMM delicious !! First I tried the Chicken Tikka Masala Curry. OMG CURRY IS BANGER! It's so creamy and flavor full. I could drink it up like a smoothie. The chicken was good but I have had better chicken in this dish before. Then I tried the chicken biryani. It was ALSO BANGER!! Especially with the raitha it had so much flavor. It also had the right amount of spice. Finally I tried the gulabjam. It was aighttt. My momma def makes it better. Overall I give this place an 8/10. Most of it was super banger. I am definitely going to check this place out in person when I get the chance to
google avatar

Austin M.

Yelp
Best food I've had in all of Virginia. It was extremely flavorful and the meat was all cooked to perfection and authenticity. Also you get ALOT of food for a decent price! The service was great, not too involved and did casual check ins. Ambiance was 10/10 because the music was not loud, and the decor was simple. Amazing! I'll be back!

Cindy R.

Yelp
If I could rate this a zero I would. Chana Masala very very mushy. Way way way overcooked Blah.......
google avatar

Jason G.

Yelp
I like the cuisine served here. I ordered delivery. Their large quantities astounded us! It took me many meals to finish their wonderful cuisine. I really enjoyed their Biriyani. I received the mild taste with just the appropriate amount of heat. Excellent work.
google avatar

Malak A.

Yelp
Amazing quality food!!! Don't hesitate to go. I will definitely be back. The staff were very friendly and specially with my child. They gave her free mango drinks. Also the service as fast and the food was hot and freshly made. The ambiance has lots of Indian culture which I definitely like. GO IMMEDIATELY
google avatar

Ron F.

Yelp
VERY TASTY Lamb Josh Rogan and vegetable samosas!! Just moved to the area and was craving Indian food. If you like Indian food, you will not be disappointed with SAFFRON. My goal is to eventually try everything on the menu. Need to get a gym membership to offset the extra pounds I'm going to gain at this place.
google avatar

Narisa P.

Yelp
Everything is delicious and the service is always wonderful. I always come eat here when I do crave of curry!! The corn nuggets is so delicious!!!
google avatar

Ellie D.

Yelp
Yum! I liked almost everything at the buffet. Even the Chicken Tikka which I usually pass over but decided to try. I did not love the Butter Chicken which surprised me because everything else was really good. (I have a theory that if a restaurant can't do a good Butter Chicken or Tikka Masala then they aren't worth my time.) So I'm glad I tried their other dishes in the buffet first. My favourite was probably the vegetable korma. If you're in the area, give them a try!

Quin Y.

Yelp
Best Indian food I've ever had highly recommend. Just go with an empty stomach and an open mind because you will be there eating for awhile

Tashi W.

Yelp
food ordered but kept me waiting for another 40 minutes after given time. the taste is good but the service pickup was delayed for two items ordered. there is a decline in services..... looking for better service
