We came to check out Saffron for their lunch buffet, something that you see that is a bit rare these days due to uncertain times.
They had a very modest spread, inclusive of goat vindaloo, butter chicken, Chili 65 fish, palak paneer, tandoori chicken, and aloo gobi. There is definitely more of a kick here as it was heavy on the heat. The chicken in the butter chicken was a bit dry, and the curry itself was a bit thin and more sweeter than I was used to. The palak paneer was savory and creamy, and the potatoes in the aloo gobi could have been cooked a little bit longer.
I did like the Chili 65, as it was both sweet and spicy, and the fish was flaky and tasty.
I really enjoyed their orange custard, as while it was thin, it was a great sweet finishing with chunks of citrus throughout - yum!
I am thinking that ordering off of their menu a la carte is the better option, as it may be prepared differently?
Service here was very kind and friendly; they checked-in on all the tables often, our waters were always refilled, and used plates were taken away promptly.
The place is not too big, but intimate enough; I think the restaurant is conscientious of not mass producing, as there was a wait for some items on the buffet that was out; also, there was more priority for those who had placed their orders.
Plenty of parking in the plaza lot.
