Surprising flavors and impeccable service. As frequent travellers to Thailand, we often find Thai food outside the kingdom to be generic and uninspired. However, our experience at Saffron was anything but ordinary. This restaurant has managed to elevate Thai cuisine with delightful surprises and creative twists, reaching a level that is difficult to find even in Thailand itself.
Our evening began with the men opting for the wine pairing, while the ladies enjoyed the mocktail pairing. The oyster and caviar starter set an exceptionally high standard for the night, and the dishes only continued to impress. The tender lobster pad Thai and the exquisite grilled Alaska King crab were standout highlights, and after indulging in several other wonderful dishes, we all felt we couldn't eat another bite. Yet, the dessert—a remarkable egg custard pumpkin—was so incredible that it left us all in awe.
The wine pairings were expertly chosen, and I was pleasantly surprised by a nicely balanced red that complemented the Thai flavors perfectly. The ladies couldn't stop raving about their non-alcoholic drinks, which were equally delightful. By the end of the meal, we were all full to the brim and thoroughly satisfied.
The quality of the food, the unexpected culinary surprises, the excellent service, and the beautiful ambiance of the restaurant all contributed to an unforgettable dining experience. Considering the high standard of the entire evening, I found the price to be extremely reasonable. I wholeheartedly recommend Saffron to all my friends planning a trip to Macau!
