Safir Mediterranean

I tried the Joojeh Kabab and Kabab Barg here. Unfortunately, Joojeh lacked flavor—I wouldn’t recommend it. Kabab Barg was tender but cut too thin. The hummus was overly salty. The salad was stale, and the lettuce had started to discolor. On the bright side, the staff was very respectful and courteous.

Im speechless, everything is great and they deserve way more people. It was worth the 15% music service fee. Great place for birthdays and you can bring your own birthday cake. They also sometimes have dancers.

This is undoubtedly the best Persian restaurant in the neighbourhood. The staff is exceptionally friendly and maintains a high level of professionalism, making every dining experience enjoyable. The menu boasts various authentic Persian dishes, all prepared with the finest ingredients that guarantee rich flavours and freshness, from fragrant saffron rice to tender kebabs. The inviting atmosphere adds to the overall experience, making it a perfect place for both casual meals and special occasions.

Great food and great service. The chicken koobideh is to die for. I have been coming here since this restaurant open 12 years ago. The owner of the staff are always smiling and helpful. I walked in to Safir for the 1st time this past weekend on my own and I'm so glad I did. This is authentic Persian food. Matt took care of my order and recommended Khoresh Bademjan because I was craving a stew since it was freezing outside. It came with a side of basmati rice. I also ordered a Chai and it was sooo delicious, bursting with cardamom! The bread seems to be stonefired and I loooved dunking it in the stew. I can't wait to come back and try the kabobs.

I love the Persian food here. Everything tastes so good. I enjoy dinner here a few times a month and I have used them for catering many times too.

As I write this review, I'm sitting in their dining room with a few other guests listening to jazz music in the background and enjoying one of the freshest salads I've had in a long time. The chicken wrap is very nicely prepared. Portions are hearty. Service very friendly. The flavors of everything here, including the tea are focused and a little intense, which I like. It's real character, nothing to hide, and brilliantly done. For you folks that live around here, you are fortunate. Wish I had something like this back home. Greg

As we were waiting for our car to be fixed, we were walking around and came across this place within a strip mall. They have a pretty large indoor seating area as well as a smaller outdoor area you can dine at. Just be careful of the raised flooring to the outdoor tables, tripped over it a couple of times. They have a pretty extensive menu. We received complimentary Naan bread with tzatziki sauce, as we were figuring out what we were gonna order. The bread is cooked well. Some char to it. And flaky at the periphery. The tzatziki sauce was good. You can really taste the herbs and mint in it. It was thick and creamy but also refreshing. They serve it with a half raw onion, which I've never seen before. But putting a small piece into the bread and tzatziki sauce really worked. It was pure genius. Just dont put too much because the raw onion becomes overpowering. It was pretty good, tho. I ordered their lamb shank with baghali polo. The actual shank of a lamb is quite huge!! The meat was tender, and fall off the bone. Flavors were ok. It was in this red sauce, some heat to it but no real flavors. The rice was cooked well. My friend ordered the koobideh which was really good. Well seasoned and soft. I wouldn't recommend taking the bread home as a leftover. Because once you wrap it up, it becomes soggy and limp and spongy. Quite weird. But the koobideh was still good the next day. Overall, it was good, but not great. Maybe because I was still full from eating prior. Or the atmosphere and vibe was just off.

This place is disaster, these are the pictures I took yesterday at 12:45, they don't clean the Resturant from a night before... all the food and dirty dishes, glasses full of liquid s and floors filled we food crumbs and dirt.. We were suppose to set up the place with chair covers and table clothes flowers and candles on all tables and stage with pictures and flowers.. Not only the manage who should up at 12:50 has not taking care of it, he started shouting and yelling at us that him and his crew can watch the Soccer game on a monitor, The manager( Baraani) I don't know where he received his managerial certificate but I can only tell you, this place is only one phone call a way to health department to shut down, they way this place is filthy I believe the kitchen is full of mice and Roaches... Be aware.

Came here the other day for lunch and was absolutely delicious! The service was quicker than I expected, my co worker and I were the only ones in there, but the guy that served us put on music to enjoy. The tzatziki and hummus were homemade there, and there were so many flavors. We got a side chicken kabob. It was juicy and not dry at all. I will definitely come back to eat here or even take out to enjoy at home.

The food is good just don't go for the buffet... is a small selection of items and they hardly serve any meat... they take a long time to refill them and only serve a little bit for everyone there, so by the time you go get it there isn't any... the price is too high for just lettuce and pita

We came here on a whim but jt turns out we love the place. As vegetarians there are some good options. We love the fresh baked pita with hummus and the vegetable plate. It comes with an eggplant dish that isn't the generic kind at every other Mediterranean place; possibly because this is Persian? Anyway we like that the flavors are unique. Also I loke their minty ice tea. And the service is always great.

We had the best time celebrating my mom's birthday there last night. Great food, wonderful and warm ambiance and the bast dancing music! The singer Mr. Mahmood Ghorbani did a great job with his songs and we danced the night away! The price was very reasonable as well. Just loved it. Highly recommend.

Amazing! My favorite middle eastern restaurant in the valley! The ambiance of this restaurant is very nice. It's the perfect place to enjoy a nice dinner on ! Food is absolutely delicious. It's not too heavy at all. They cook it just right, with a generous portion that fills you up. I absolutely love the boneless chicken and the beef kubideh. The service is also very quick.They bring the food out fast. I'm actually surprised of some of the negative reviews on here, seems malicious and intent on devaluing their business. I've never had any issues here and been here many times!

Food from Safir has been continuously consistent and always so good. Great for takeout! I've only ordered through Uber Eats but I'm going to have to go in!

Everything was good , especially the music! We went there on a Friday night. It was our first time, and we enjoyed it so much. Mr. Mahmoud Ghorbani's song selection was amazing. He has such a good voice too! He chooses both new and old songs and also sings traditional songs with another artist who plays the dulcimer, which are amazing. The food and service were very good too with a good price. We had so much fun and danced a lot!

I has a big party of 100 people and was too lazy to have my party at home so I decided to try Safir restaurant. I loved their new look with bright table cloths and covered chairs. It makes it look much brighter and more like a cabaret that a restaurant. They offered us a fixed menu of jujeh kabab, koobideh kabob, fish and 2 different rice, white and green rice with drinks and fruits for dessert with live entertainment which was great. The singers were this Persian singer, I think his name was Varand or something similar and he was just fantastic. I would go back just to see him and the other one was Foruhar, well know in Persian community and of course a great singer. The service was great and the price was very reasonable. Mr. Barani the owner was really on top of everything and make this occasion fun and very special for us and we are thankful. I highly recommend this place for your private parties and for your night out with friends and families.

Terrible!!! Horrible food, and as if it couldn't get any WORSE the service is non existent. This restaurant is mis-managed, filthy , and should be shut down!!! Came here to celebrate my sister's birthday and we arrived at 8:00pm and placed our order by 8:15pm... Fast forward TWO HOURS we still had not received our entree's !!! When we inquired about our dinner the manager ignored us and kept saying it's on its way.... Tables seated after us were all served their appetizers , drinks AND Entree's!!! The red wine tasted like rancid sour grapes, the lemonade had hair in it. I honestly would stay away from this "restaurant."

Although I have not been Safir for awhile, I always find it the best Mediterranian restaurant in the valley. (I started going Safir since year 2014 and I never got dissapointed even once). Their food is always fresh and they use the best quality of ingredients. The manager is always professional, friendly and he works very hard, sometimes he even covers kitchen to make sure his customers don't have to wait too long. I am so glad Safir survived during the Covid pandemic and I hope/wish Safir the best business in 2024! Safir's Health Score is "A" They offer music in the evening so it's a gteat place to open any events/parties.

Just had dinner at Safir with the West Valley Warner Center Chamber of Commerce and didn't realize that I had already eaten there several times and was blown away each time. It's definitely in my top five in the Valley. The food they make and serve is so balanced and reliably good. The staff are very friendly, polite, and attentive. The ambiance is very nice and they did mention that they have belly dancing shows. The area is such a great one for hanging out and meeting people, it's very inviting. And Safir does do catered food and again I just made the connection that I had eaten from Safir several times and each time it was so consistently delicious and excellent!

Honestly, I was amazed with the taste and quality of the food! I ordered tilapia with substitute berry rice and I've never had better rice than that. The fish was so gooooood too! I tried a delicious stew and the Greek starter salad. Wow! Wow! Wow! I will be back.

Very poor service. 1 waiter and 1 manager taking orders from 200+ people. Hire more people! Long waits for overpriced, below average food.

A place that you can enjoy the food, music, very professional staff and management, highly recommend it to everyone, I threw sooo many parties and I was like a guest in my party and enjoyed every single moment of it. I wish I could give more stars.

I have been to this place twice and it's been pretty good experience every time. I dined in a long time ago for their buffet and was a good experience. The decoration inside is pretty nice and they have a bar, did not try the bar so I can't comment on it. They did their best to have enough food for the buffet. I did a to go order recently and it was smooth, from placing the online order to picking it up. The kebab was great and tasty. The food portion was big and filling. It comes with a side of vegetables and onions which is a bonus, not all the Persian places do that. I also got the house Dough which tasted pretty good. The only complain I have was the salad Shirazi I ordered as a side. It didn't taste fresh ! But that didn't stop me from leaving a good rating here. Hopefully they can improve their salad!

I give low rating one the food quality is horrible if you want quality Persian food the best one in CA is Daryas restaurant in Santa Monica. Their beef and chicken combination are the best and high quality with high need service than Safir restaurant. Don't waste your time to come to this place!!!! The boss is so unprofessional and doesn't value his customer nor respect them. It's a shame!! I was here for a Persian events and many said it's too loud and I asked politely if he can adjust the volume as our ears were being effective negative he rudely replied it is not his problem!! He won't adjust it. And he refused to give the wifi and his quality of food was so low. Very disappointing experience!!! My ears are so closed so as my friends and families!!! If you love your ears avoid at all cost!! The only thing I give one star to was to his waiter who were working so hard and were wonderful. The boss on the other hand it's so disappointing and a just a shame. If the waiters didn't not work here. I would give this place -5. DO NOT WASTE YOUR TIME NOR MONEY.

A favorite! Ever since opening at its Sherman Way location and following it to the Ventura Blvd location. Great food, service and ambience! The salmon with sour berry rice is a favorite and the baklava is tender, the best I've ever had. Had many a party here and the owner, Matt, made each party special.

The worst persian food ever. We ordered the food. They missed the rice on the side with lamb shank. The stew was no fully cooked and the split peas were fully uncooked. Management should pay more attention. Food was not fresh and fully cooked. The portion of the foods were so small. We pay same price to other restaurants and we get fair portions.

We were there last night with some family members. The entertainment was great with Mr Ghaderi & Ghorbani. However, my food was awful. Me and my wife had Shish kabab. But mine was horrible $ awful. The meat had gone bad and should have been trashed. Even the rice had the awful taste of the bad meat. My wife had the Shish kabab also. But hers was great, fresh snd tasty. I was so hungry and still wanted to bring it up to the server about the food but my wife started sharing her kabab with me and we just ate it. The portion was also very small even the rice. After we finished eating i brought this up to the server and manager but no reaction and they said ok sorry. Beside that they have hidden service fee on top of the cover charge, about %9. This place Health and Food administration rating is B. I strongly do not recommend this place

The Worst Management, Horrible Customer Service. LAST TIME I EVER GIVE THIS PLACE ANY BUISNES. Their Food does not taste as good as others. Absolutely not worth giving them any business. When I tried to order, the owner was too bothered answering my questions and throw the menu in front of me and said all your answers are there... look and when you ready order. I should have walked away then. But I placed an order and paid, No Manner nothing, with such attitude "When your order gets ready we will call you" .... So I immediately canceled my order and he refused to cancel.... LAST TIME I EVER GIVE THIS PLACE ANY BUISNES.

I have been a customer of this restaurant for more than fifteen years and I am satisfied with its food quality. Another reason for my interest in this restaurant is the owner's hospitality. I personally recommend this restaurant.

My wife and her friends went there on a girl's night! She found a small cocroach on the side of her plate! My wife reported it to the management. Instead of apologizing and handling the situation they insulted her, yelled at her, and blamed her for reporting a small cocroach! We have pictures and we already reported it to health department but I am not righting this review because of a "small cocroach" in the food. Their customer services and their manners gets a negative rating

So I regret to share with you that after a year of waiting I made a mistake of taking my family to Safir Mediterranean Cuisine to dine and celebrate my mother's birthday. I have never been more disrespected and I have never seen such low level of class and customer service. There were 8 older men playing card game on the next table which is odd on its own as it is. But then they started using the kind of language that only their own families deserve to be around and hear. They were rude and using curse words not even paying attention to another family being present. I highly suggest you keep your family away from this place. This is no place for women and children. I got so made and angry that I had to tell them off and leave. The owner himself was there. NOT ONLY HE DID NOT SAY ANYTHING TO THOSE GUYS, HE CHARGED US FOR THE MEAL THAT WE JUST LEFT BEHIND, AND DID NOT EAT. Any true owner/manager would have asked those guys to leave but not at this place. Do not expect any decency. I paid $121.45 just to leave and take my family away from that toxic place. DO WASTE YOUR TIME AND MONEY JUST TO GET DISRESPECTED.

Just an outstanding business from the time I walked in and when I placed my order and the owner came to my table and wanted to make sure all was going good ! Food was delicious and service was superb! My 2nd time here and was just amazing!

My experience at Safir was excellent. From the delicious Beef Shish Kabob, delectable hummus with pita bread, and the peaceful ambiance of the restaurant, I enjoyed my time here. I can whole heartedly say that Safir has some of the best hummus I've ever tried. I could eat the hummus by itself, but it definitely wouldn't be complete without the pita bread. The pita bread is toasted to perfection. It's soft, yet crunchy in the right areas and the size of the bread is humongous. I also ordered the Beef Shish Kabob which are chunks of filet mignon, marinated and skewered with bell peppers and onions and char-broiled. I arrived at Safir at about 5PM and the restaurant was very quiet and felt very zen. My waiter was helpful with describing the menu items and checking up on me regularly. I will absolutely be returning back for some hummus + pita bread and to experience the belly dancing entertainment!

Safir restaurant is the best Persian restaurant I've been to. The food is outstanding with a great ambiance. love this place, alway great!

Simply "outstanding" Finally after a year in town I just had an early dinner and wow the kabab koobideh was the best I've had in a long time and will go back for it I've had better but not in OC and not so cheap specially with the fire grilled chili Outstanding The salad with the house dressing was so good I embarrassed myself They also had northern Iran by Caspian Sea style pickled garlic in a jar 3 years old and the staff was so friendly to everyone I watched Half a dozen customers walk in and the staff knew all of the names and the kids It's a family ran small hole in the wall that I look for Very casual HB style father and daughter operation been open for 15 years I really enjoyed myself One of them authentic old school hidden treasure kabob houses no one knows about Make sure you get your fire roasted chilies not a fan of spicy hot peppers Just take the seeds out You'll love it

Came here last Saturday for my sister's birthday. Had a great time. The food was amazing as well as the service. Great price for food and live entertainment. Will keep going back.

I come here for their chicken barg (thin flat marinated chicken breast slices on skewer) & their amazing adas polo (rice that has raisins, Dates, walnuts, & lentils). They do an excellent job on both items in my opinion, in fact at the end I always have an urge to come back just for the rice haha. Price is good too! I've attached the menu pics and the chicken soltani we got (2 skewers: barg & kobedeh).

Large portions for the price. Ordered chicken kabob. Long black hair in my food -- absolutely disgusting. Also chicken looked amazing but tasted disgusting. Rice was delicious. Grilled veggies were great but the Shiraz salad was over seasoned.

Dar sha'ne ye ensane ba shakhsiat nist in restaurant. ABSOLUTELY NOT PLEASANT FOR RESPECTABLE PEOPLE. They were hosting a poker game. I was embarrassed sitting there hearing the foul language that was being used loudly. The owner was fully aware of the situation but failed to take any actions. It took me few minutes to realize it was not a place for me. Paid for the food that I didn't eat and walked away. Never going back there again.

We came here at lunch time and we were the only customers here which we thought was weird but it looked like they were getting ready for a big party for later. The service and the food was great! Probably the best hummus I have ever had and we eat a lot of it. I got the chicken skewer plate (white meat) and it came with rice and a roasted tomato ( the tomato was roasted to perfection) my husband got the ground chicken skewers. All of the chicken was moist which is so hard for so many people. I would highly recommend this when in the valley. Oh and can't forget the lavash they bring out with mint and radish and onion complimentary! Thank you for the amazing food!

Quick review: My go-to kebob, turned into go-to toilet right quick. How things have changed homie. 10 years back lived in woodland hills, ate here weekly. Now it's turned on me, I'm stupified :/ I'm not gonna go on about each dish like I usually do...check the photos. Food was below average to bad, sent me to the bowl within an hour. Do the math smarty. Btw I'm being generous w stars cause they my people and took care of me for years.

Terrible service, Terrible food taste, very expensive compare to ehat you can get from other place They put TOO MANY ppl in a small space just to charge them more! No respect for other customers and give them some space. They fill the restaurant like it's an emergency and they have to fit hundreds of ppl in such a small place. Boring shows, cheap manager, cheap attitude and very poor customer service (they don't even know what it means I guess) All they know is charging ppl... That's why after all these years you see NO CHANGE in this restaurant No development NOTHING! Cuz they don't wanna spend any money on their ugly dirty CHEAP business... Pls don't go there & don't waste your time and money!

Ordered take out when I got my food no flavor at all! Not to mention they put the falafels in a styrofoam container with hot oil so half of them were covered in melted styrofoam completely inedible
