Great atmosphere and friendly servers. Tried to walk in on a random weekday in Jan but no tables available they said. But we looked online and were able to make a quick booking for an hour later haha. The starters we had were very yummy: the smoked pork croquettes were all tender pork inside and deliciously crunchy & the soft egg mushroom dish was so tasty that we lapped up all the sauce. The mains were a little disappointing for us though cause they were both not super flavorful and the main flavor was just oily butter: we got the ricotta gnocchi and fish over lentils. The fish was really fresh and not overcooked, so without the buttery/oily lentils would have been a delicious dish. Though that's just our taste, you might like things swimming in butter or oil. Their famous Middleton brick was just ok as well. The marshmallow top was nice and fluffy but the chocolate and caramel sauce was way too sweet, so it was hard to finish. Overall I would be careful what I choose from the menu since it's a hit or miss.

Enjoyed the food, comfortable cozy atmosphere, bar offerings, and friendly service. Cons: only 2 beers on draft. They were not common (lager and an Irish pale ale) but if you don’t like either then that’s it. Limited vegetarian options. Just one entree and a few sides. We could not place multiple orders of food. We just wanted to order some starters first with drinks, then order entrees when we were ready, but we were told we could not. Strange. Other than those, a pleasant experience with good food.

I've been wanting to go here for some time and it didn't disappoint, we had a wonderful dinner. I believe the interior has been renovated recently and the decor is casual, but the food absolutely is not, the presentation is perfect, the flavours incredible, the variety and quality of ingredients is outstanding. There's also an extensive menu or delicious cocktails. The staff are wonderful. After the meal we visited the small shop just outside which has all sorts of interesting food and ingredients. Can't wait to go back!

The pork nuggets for starters were great, beef cheek was yummy too. Hake kiev as a dish overall was very dry especially after the first few bites and towards the end was just too much “fried” texture, middleton brick dessert was very sweet for me. overall a good experience. We had early dinner so everything was quick :).

Beautiful food and atmosphere. I had the Dahl with chargrilled chicken, it was delicious. The cocktails are really good here too. The outside area is stunning. Will definitely return!

Sage is little hidden paradise in a beautiful building with wonderful garden. Located off the main street, so don't miss it. The food is excellent. The staff professional and helpful.

Google
This place was a huge pleasant surprise. We picked this restaurant randomly - and it turned out to be the best meal we’ve had in a few years. This is really delicious dining in a relaxed environment. Food and service, equally amazing.

Google
Good food and beautiful location added to super friendly staff and solid customer service make Sage a good destination for a good evening meal occasion. The setup is slightly too labored and food a little too expensive but the experience is good. Try the mik fish, the chocolate and honeycomb, and the potatoes in beef drippings.

Yelp
I loved this cozy little place tucked back away from the street with a cool garden and open space in back. It smelled like a woody grill. The menu was very fresh and creative and the food was really good.

Yelp
Our party of 17 was welcomed with open arms by the staff at Sage. The service was attentive, the food came out in a timely manner, and all of the dishes were superior and artfully crafted. There was a neat little shop connected to the restaurant that had to-go foods as well as candy, pastries, jellies, and other goods that were perfect as gifts for us to take home to our friends and families in America. I would recommend Sage to anyone!

Yelp
The absolute best lunch dining experience I've had in all of Europe. We came here after our tasting at Jameson by recommendation of one of the guys from Jameson. The food was impeccable and the service was better! I would come back to Ireland just to eat here again! Seriously... that good. 2 of us and a bottle of wine E80. So crazy fantastic. I'll be back. Hopefully sooner than later!

Yelp
This restaurant is a great find - and it's hard to find! From the main downtown street, you have to go down a narrow alley between two buildings and the door for Sage and its sister restaurant is in the back. It is a beautiful, warm space with tables that are not spaced right up on each other. We were surprised with an amuse bouche, which was a seaweed tempura...something or other. It was tasty and really cool, because it was something I'd never have ordered if it was on a menu. The cheddar ale soup was delicious, I wanted more. I had a steak which was small but very good. Service was a tad slower, but it's Europe, so you should expect that. I would definitely seek this out if I was back in town.

Yelp
When I learned that Cork was a town for foodies, I was super excited. After a bit of research it was evident that a meal at Sage was a must and it DID NOT disappoint. We reserved a table for lunch and were really looking forward to a meal based on their 12 mile rule. All ingrdients are sourced within a 12 mile radius of the restaurant. It is set in a stunning courtyard with a modern, yet cozy dining room. The waiter was a real pro, quite familar with the menu even though it changes on a daily basis. We started with the mussels and chorizo that were, BY FAR, my favorite part of the meal. Torn between the pasta with broad beans and the gnocchi, the waiter suggested the pasta. And he was right. It was light and fresh. But he was also kind enough to recommend a small order of the gnocchi so I could try both. The gnocchi were good, but not great. I like mine pillow soft and these fell a bit short. My husband had the pork shoulder with cabbage and the chips with beef drippings. WOW. Just WOW. They were delicious. We would return to Midleton just to eat at Sage again. And it was only 43 Euros. The most fair priced meal we've had after living in Ireland for over a year.

Yelp
We had a late lunch here after the Jameson Experience. I had the #12 mile Share board (for 1) which had ham, goat cheese, another cheese, smoked salmon, small salad, black pudding, bread accompanied with honey and a bit of oil on the side. It was absolutely amazing, I wish WISH I could have waited for dinner!

Yelp
Nice, quiet restaurant with very good food and service. I went for an early lunch. It was quiet at first but the space quickly filled up. We had the duck and the gnocchi. Both were perfectly cooked and flavorful. The ambiance is very comfortable and it's a cute looking space.

Yelp
Fabulous restaurant. The food is excellent and locally sourced. The staff is great and very friendly. I highly recommend the caramel tart dessert, it's so good!

Yelp
Sadly Sage doesn't live up to their own hype. A complete waist of time and MONEY. We had a 5:30 pm reservation in order to beat the dinner crowd as a suggestion from the employee taking our reservation. Once seated it was quite clear that the Resturant hadn't finished setting up given the level of noise from the kitchen and the long wait for drinks. We had both decided on the Top Sirloin (medium rare) with a grilled onion and leaks & potato tart. One of the steaks was rare and the other steak was closer to charred raw (with about 25% of it being gristle and Inedible), the grilled onion was burnt and hard and the leaks and potato tart were over cooked and flavorless. All in all, I would describe the meal as a FAILURE, a shameful excuse for a dinner. At this point we both decided to bypass dessert, and politely request our bill. The bill we received had been combined with the table next to us (good thing I reviewed it!), after hunting down the waitress to have the bill amended we paid and left (without so much a apology)........... My suggestion to this Establishment is to remove the "grill cook" and replace him with a "proper chef" who knows how to trim meets and prepare them to order. To the wait staff, I would suggest they try being a little more inviting as well as aware of the table they are serving. A lesson / phrase learned a long time ago "Just because people are foolish enough to over pay doesn't make you a good Resturant"

Yelp
As an Ex Ritz Carlton Chef. I had one of the best desserts I have ever eaten. To the shock of my dining partners :) I never say that ever :) The meal as whole, was bite after bite of joy :) Well done.
