The Best Restaurants in the Tri-Cities, Washington | Eater Seattle

"Customers at Richland’s biker-influenced and memorabilia-covered haunt order food under a giant red sailfish covered in racing flames. The down-home breakfast and lunch plates are a hit with locals, including the seasonal orange French toast and the SagePort Stax with hash browns, Situated on the west bank of the Columbia River and open for indoor and outdoor dining, SagePort Grille is a great stop pre- or post-exploration of nearby Bateman Island." - Kelly Knickerbocker

Stopped in for breakfast. Plenty of parking. Really neat atmosphere. All the wait staff were cool :) The food is amazing! Elvis French toast was delicious. I had the stack with the country fried steak. One of the best breakfasts I have ever had. Everything was cooked perfectly. Definitely warrants a return visit!

Google
Very unique and delicious breakfast spot. When you walk inside, there are so many signs and decorations to look at. Only downside was the wait to be seated and the wait for our food. It was a busy Sunday though, so completely understand.

Google
Great food. It is kind of a smaller place, wouldn't be ideal for groups over 4 people but could probably arrange it. It was quite busy when I went. Hard to find parking. The server was a bit salty, but that is just kind of the vibe of the place. It has a biker kind of don't care vibe. But the food is amazing and it is good portions. Also there's some unique stuff I have never seen before. The churro french toast is out of bounds as Guy would say. I don't live up in Kennewick, but I will be back each time I visit. And I will try other things because I doubt they have anything there that isn't top notch.

Google
We missed this place terribly. The food is amazing and the service is usually great, the last time we went, the waitress was a little rude when she threw our check on the table. We won't hold it against her it was busy, and she may have been having a bad day. Overall, we love going here for breakfast and lunch. We do miss their once a month dinners that they had years ago.

Google
I had the California Benedict with a side of bacon and halved a French toast. My friend had an omelet. The meal was rich and flavorful. The French toast was so fluffy and amazing. The wait staff was very friendly. Can't wait to go back.

Google
The food is unbelievably amazing. The customer service is phenomenal. We started going in and by the third time of being there we were already family almost like they knew us by name. Very warming atmosphere very friendly customer service.. sometimes the wait can be a little longer than expected, but it is so worth it.

Google
Food was fabulous. Lots of fun things to look at and read. I had not been in, in probably 20 years. I definitely won't let it be that long since I go back.

Google
Sage Port Grille has a really laid-back, old-school diner feel, with decorations covering the walls and ceiling, which makes for an interesting atmosphere. The food is pretty average, nothing special, but for the price, I can’t really complain. If you go on a weekend, be prepared to wait. They have a sign-up waitlist, and people usually wait outside, but there’s not always enough seating, so you might be standing around for a while. One of the quirks of the place is that you have to walk through the kitchen to get to the restroom, which definitely adds to the experience. Overall, it’s a decent spot if you’re looking for an affordable, no-frills breakfast and don’t mind waiting a bit.

Yelp
We love this place !!! I love the uniqueness of the spot. I recently had the bbq pork breakfast dish and it was so good !!

Yelp
On a Tuesday morning, my girlfriend and I were excited to explore breakfast options and decided to try this place. Although the small parking lot was packed, we managed to snag the last parking spot! Upon walking in, we noticed a few parties waiting to be seated, and after being informed that there would be about a 20-30 minute wait, we decided it was best to take a seat and wait for our table. I'm glad we did because when our order came out, the churro French toast absolutely blew us away! It was hands down the best French toast I've ever had--crispy, crunchy, and delicious. The biscuits and gravy were also pretty good, which added to the overall experience. However, I did want to mention that our host/waitress (in the fourth picture I took) seemed a bit rude and might have been having a rough day. Thankfully, the other employees were nice and polite, which left a good impression. Despite the one negative, I definitely plan to return!

Yelp
The food is plentiful and excellent! Don't miss the onion rings or the battered fries. The servers go above and beyond to get everything right. The restaurant is clean and a comfortable temperature (although a little dark). The entrance was accessible for one member of our group. Weirdly, the bathroom was through the kitchen.

Yelp
Amazing breakfast here recently! We started off with a round of Bloody Mary's (mild - they do offer a spicy, but I'm always hesitant the first time) that came topped with the perfect appetizer of pickled snacks. For my entree, I ordered the steak and eggs. They did ask how I wanted my steak cooked, but it was far past medium. It still tasted good, and the hashbrowns and eggs made for the perfect bite. The hashbrowns were some of the best I've ever had as they were extra crispy! It also came with a serving of toast. Service was great, but a little dysfunctional, as in we were asked multiple times if we needed anything, etc. definitely airing on the side of extra service, which was good. Overall, it's very easy to see why this is one of Tri-Cities's favorites. It's a very small, divey looking biker bar, but serving some amazing food and drinks.

Yelp
My husband found this little gem and I'm so glad he did! The place was packed but we got seated within 5 min. Decor was fun to look at and all the staff seemed upbeat and welcoming....awesome atmosphere! We got an omelette breakfast and a full order of the churro French toast and split it. Food was great!!! We're here for a few more days and plan to come back.

Yelp
This place was super yummy! From the moment we walked in, the service was great. We had drinks and menus within seconds. Our food came out fast, the server checked on us a lot and the vibe was laid back and chill. Will be back here for sure.

Yelp
Pro's Good food portions - Fresh plates Food came out quickly Good food options Love the decor They provide outdoor seating, indoor is booths & tables. Con's Parking is limited Waitress a little to direct "what do you want" vs maybe what can I get you or what would you like.. Ordered coffee, there was still coffee stains on the cup rim & light lipstick stain...

Yelp
Cute little restaurant. The previous owner was a Navy vet so more kudos. We had a cinnamon roll which was huge and it had a cinnamon icing on top. My husband had an omelette and he said it was good. The prices were a little high but I get it they're trying to keep this place in buisness with all the inflation.

Lori L.

Yelp
This place is really cool - the walls are completely covered with memorabilia and posters and pictures and stuff of all ages. The food is great, the portions are large and the prices are $$ in my opinion.

Emily V.

Yelp
Perfect spot for brunch. The food was delicious and plated nicely. The service was excellent and pretty quick even though they were busy. The environment was fun and everyone was in a good mood. I would fully recommend and we are very exited to try a new menu item.

Yelp
One of my favorite places for comfort food and drinks. It's locally owned and has literally stood the test of time making it through the great depression and 15 presidents. It's not the fanciest and sometimes the wait for a table is FOREVER but it remains a go to for me when I'm in the Tri Cities. The food is always good and portions are over the top but everything about this local gem is over the top. There's carb heavy items, healthy options, breakfast, lunch and desserts. I always get a burger with a side of onion rings. Every single time it's cooked perfectly and loaded with fresh veggies and the onion rings are never greasy. The drinks are strong and seem to get stronger and bigger the longer you stay. The aesthetic is crazy eclectic and there's never a dull moment with restaurant staff or customers. Staff is AMAZING!!!!!
google avatar

Shana C.

Yelp
What a great spot! Such a funky cool vibe inside! The staff are awesome, very fun to interact with! And the food was fantastic! We had the corned beef hash eggs Benedict, biscuits & gravy and a bacon cheeseburger! Yum!

Caylin P.

Yelp
Good luck getting a table, but once you do the food is heavenly! Everything is delicious and will add some meat to your bones

Yelp
I've never been to a place where I needed to tell the waiter that I wanted sausage, egg, and French toast and have him figure out how I should order it. He told me it was a frequent problem. Don't order any sides. 1 ounce of sour cream is $2 and it goes up from there Service was appropriately attentive. Servers rushed but nice. The food was only ok. Bacon crumbly, egg only a little overcooked. The sausage as suggested by the server was excellent. The French toast was nicely flavored but gummy inside. Based on the reviews I was prepared to love it. I was disappointed.

Leeann D.

Yelp
I love this place it's always packed so plan to go before you're hungry! Food/service is great!
google avatar

Jennifer M.

Yelp
This place is small so get a group together of six or more so you can have a reservation. Service was excellent! Food was good, portions are HUGE, definitely think about sharing. I am excited to go back and try something else.
google avatar

Greta S.

Yelp
The loaded mimosa was very good. We were able to order drinks while waiting for our table. Food was amazing. We got chicken fried steak, biscuits and gravy and sausage, eggs and hash browns. Everything was really good. Service was top tier. We sat in the patio and the view was beautiful across the Columbia River. Music was spot on, 90's alt

Yelp
This is one of the "must stop" places when I come home to the Tri-Cities. Excellent breakfast! Fun place. Kinda divy which is a plus in my mind.

Victoria M.

Yelp
Talk about a hole in the wall!!!! Stopped by for breakfast on Saturday. It does get crowded early so come prepared to wait! Well worth the wait. Portions are large so if you are a lighter eater you may consider sharing.

Cindy W.

Yelp
The atmosphere is fun, and eclectic. The food is served in large portions, while being delicious! I had the crab Benedict. Plenty of crab was present in the dish. Also, you can order a drink while waiting for a table.

Yelp
My friend and I went to Sage Port for the first time this morning. As soon as I walked in, I knew it was going to be good (authentic people and food from scratch). I let Sandy know it was our first time and she welcomed us and was happy to answer our questions and offer recommendations. The Bloody Mary's and food recommendations did not disappoint! Sandy further shared more background about herself and the restaurant. It's apparent that all involved in the establishment take great pride in their roles, appreciate the opportunity to be there and enjoy sharing the overall quality they experience behind the scenes with their incredibly loyal customer base. I highly recommend. They don't make people or places like Sage Port anymore.
google avatar

Greg G.

Yelp
Sage has a great breakfast and burgers. The view of the river is amazing and eating outside a great experience. The omelette I had was well filled and fluffy with meat and cheese, the hash browns were crispy and tender. The server was funny and prompt with the food and coffee.

Alex V.

Yelp
Delicious Bahn mi, fries, wings top 5 spot Very busy but staff friendly and fast. Will be back
google avatar

Haardik S.

Yelp
There was a 15 minute wait but it was totally worth it. We tried Veggie Omelette and California Benedict which was great which our kiddo also liked. Service was super quick. Taking off 1 star for the rickety bathroom which for some reason is in the middle of their kitchen.

Crystal E.

Yelp
The food was phenomenal. I was not expecting it to be such great quality but definitely better than chain restaurants like IHOP or Red Robin. The vibe is laidback and we patiently waited to be attended to. No server that's overtly checking up on you and making you feel claustrophobic but giving you time. Definitely would recommend.
google avatar

Denice L.

Yelp
We went to Sage Port Grille for the first time with our kids and gkids. Very unique, quirky little hold in the wall with excellent food. The only down side was the wait. And probably because we had 7 people we had to wait for 45 min. They also didn't have many gluten free options. I had the pulled pork hash which was out of this world! A good portion of pulled pork w sweet potatoes and 2 Poached eggs over the top. So delicious! It's def a repeater!! My hubby tried the sausage and eggs w a pancake. And the pancake was so good. A couple people Got the chicken and waffle nachos which is basically a waffle it up w pieces of chicken and siracha sauce on top. A little hot honey on the side. Add syrup and they were really loving it. My grandson thought it was a little too much siracha but our daughter loved it. Can't wait to go back. Please offer some more Gluten free bread options!
google avatar

Ara M.

Yelp
Very pleasant experience, small but cozy!!! Staff were very friendly. Busy restaurant looks like most days there is a wait, totally worth it !!! Food was flavorful and not greasy.

Yelp
Was down in Tri-Cities and a friend took me to Sage Port Grill. It's ultra funky inside. Lots of humorous signs and odd props adorn the interior. I had a patty melt with onion rings and the house bloody mary. The food was tasty and the drink quite generous. If I lived here, i would be a regular for SURE! I even met the "house cat" of the joint.

Erin D.

Yelp
This place was great! It was crowded when we first walked in, but the staff cleared tables and got us seated within minutes. It was a Sunday morning and we expected a wait with any decent restaurant in town, when they seated us promptly, I was pleased. I ordered the Pulled Pork Hash, it had lots of flavor! There was a generous amount of pork, the squash in the dish added complexity. Would recommend! The staff were fun, the entire restaurant vibe is fun. Everyone in the restaurant seemed vibrant and happy. The atmosphere was pleasant. I can't wait to go back and try another dish on their menu!

Erin N.

Yelp
The food is always amazing and has a great vibe. The service has always been above avg for tri cities
google avatar

Eric J.

Yelp
Always packed on the weekends so come early or go on a weekday. Well worth it though, the food is amazing. Nice fast paced divey kinda place. Waitresses have always been extremely nice and quick. The meals are huge, and you get unlimited bread if you want it for free. So if get a dish with gravy, shovel it into your mouth with some free toast.
google avatar

Claudia G.

Yelp
We used to live in Tri-Cities this was our favorite breakfast location personally myself I would always order Chinese pancake with some whiskey on the side seven years later we came back for the exact same thing they never disappoint. If you haven't tried it it's a must I highly recommend it. It will always be my favorite.
google avatar

Becca H.

Yelp
What an amazing place. Don't be put off by the signage, chatzky, and crowds. The staff are top notch. The food is delicious. You can call 24 hours ahead if you need a table for 6-8. The bathroom is in the kitchen. Find it yourself or be fined $1000. Haha! See many house rules. Not only is the food good, but very reasonable. My husband had the senior meal - eggs, bacon, and French toast (optional pancake or hash browns). I had their signature orange French toast with a side of bacon. A family member said the coconut shrimp was the best he's ever had. Our nephew's pulled pork with mac n cheese on sourdough looked like a carb-lover's dream, and he said it was delicious. Say hi to Stella!
google avatar

Paul M.

Yelp
Breakfast and a biker friendly hangout spot! Noticed lots of regulars eating and everyone was friendly. Had the waffle with strawberries and whipped cream. Waffle maker could have been pre-heated longer as it was not very crispy. Strawberries also not fresh but I got the needed carbs for the day ahead of me.

Terri H.

Yelp
Amazing food in spectacular service such a cool little spot to have breakfast or lunch. We will be back again.!
google avatar

Tamra A.

Yelp
Absolutely amazing food and a fun atmosphere! For being super busy, they crank out fantastic food quickly. Very impressive!

Mary C.

Yelp
Amazing home cooked food. I had their homemade Corn Beef Hash and it was incredible. My hubby had the Eggs Benedict and said it too was delicious. The servers were on top of it and really friendly.
google avatar

Shea D.

Yelp
It's never fails, everyone is always so nice and the good is always delicious. My husband gets the California Benedict and I do as well except I remove the tomato and add ham. We also sometimes split the orange French toast and oh my it is delightful. We have been going to Sage port for years and every time I see a new picture of the original owners or a new decoration, always enjoy their festiveness
google avatar

Kuyler L.

Yelp
The no bullshit motif belies chaotic service and okay breakfast. The chili eggs are scrambled with pepperoncinis which could be an acquired taste but to me was bafflingly bad. The hash browns were mixed with homefries which wasn't terrible but would've been better as just hash browns. The French toast was good. But we spent 45 minutes watching the excessive staff exemplify the too many cooks maxim: No water refills, no "how's the meal", no comment on waiting just under an hour for food/ I've rarely waited that long for food that was much better Again, the badass no nonsense ambience can work when you back it up with no nonsense service. That didn't happen today.
google avatar

Shana W.

Yelp
Fantastic place for breakfast, I love that they have so many unique choices as well as traditional choices. Service was great. The food is delicious.
google avatar

Haley J.

Yelp
Breakfast this Sunday morning was amazing! Our group loved how there is so much to look at in this restaurant. The service provided by Logan was amazing! He was running in circles around the joint. He is so funny as well. Gluten free?? Get outta here.

Donna M.

Yelp
Sorry, but this place is a dump! Dirty, sticky interior with bathroom access through the kitchen, unbelievable. Owner greeting at the counter was reminiscent of a rattle snake. 3.8% charge for using a credit card? Are you kidding me. Never again.

Jen B.

Yelp
The best spot in tricties for a Bloody Mary! It is served in a large mason jar topped with a whole appetizer on a stick. One of the neatest little mom and pop brunch spots I've been to. A true hidden gem. Every time I go I see something new, whether it's a funny sign in there or Harley Davidson memorabilia. Its just a really unique little restaurant. There is usually a wait to be sat, which is to be expected because the food is so dang good. My favorite is the sausage patty topped with fresh jalapeño & melted pepper jack & eggs. Their deep fried cinnamon roll French toast is out of this world! So mouth watering!
google avatar

Jordan E.

Yelp
Friendly staff, quick service (once you're seated), and AMAZING FOOD. Plan to wait a bit to be seated if you go on a weekend. They're busy because they're so good!
google avatar

James D.

Yelp
This was a really cool place to eat. Classic, quirky diner in its own way and the menu is big with a lot of fun and classic options. I got the orange French toast with orange cream butter, my wife got the waffle nachos (wow!) and my son got the Ambrosia orange French toast with bananas and strawberry. Friendly staff, great food, quick service. Yum!
google avatar

Valerie B.

Yelp
Always a great stop. Good atmosphere and food. And a really great Irish coffee! One of the best breakfast places around.

David S.

Yelp
The eggs Benedict here is amazing! I would highly recommend this place to anyone who loves breakfast or lunch. Such a nice location right along the river. I would highly recommended this place!

Rick H.

Yelp
Stop by again today for lunch with the wife. She had the tuna melt, and I had the patty melt. Both were the best we have had in the last couple of years. Great place. It's hard to stay away. Highly recommend it to all.
google avatar

John S.

Yelp
Still one of my favorite breakfast locations. Right by the River, and the ability to sit outdoors in the morning makes Sage Port perfect during the Summer. The menu selection appears expanded from my last visit, so you'll never feel like it's the same over and over. The service continues to be great, but this place is popular so be prepared to wait.
