First time coming here... atmosphere was top notch with ambiance. Loved the live music! It is a holiday weekend so I always give grace to busy servers. However people that came in after us were served first. I had to go to the bar and get my own drink. My server was reluctant to give me her name. She said call her Banana Pepper Star. Ugh Hopefully it was a bad day for her. You never know what is going on with someone in their personal life. Food was on point! So delicious

Went in for dinner at around 7pm yesterday, we had to seat ourselves, we waited for 20minutes for the waitress to bring us water and menus. Waitress sat 2 other customers took there drink orders and food orders. She kept passing our table my fiance told her several times we were ready to order. 45minutes later she came to the table to get our order the minute i tried to order something she rudely told me that she wasnt going to serve me the item she said that item wasnt good and she wasnt going to serve me at that point i was upset told her she didnt have to be rude and i asked why it took so long to get our order she aggressively told me the other people were guest when clearly i knew the other couple and they were not staying there. Everytime that i go in to eat this server always gives me such a hard time. my family and i are locals and we loved the food there but after last night i will not eat there nor will i recommend it to anyone. Sad that our local business treat their locals like this. What bad service to keep someone like her. I hear this lady treats alot of her customers this way. Not good for a well known place.

Great open space in the cantina to have some drinks and eats. The nachos are HUGE and the local beer selection was solid. The live music from a band with great range made for a fun atmosphere in an old west setting. The patio outside has a great view of the mountain just behind the pueblo, perfect for sunset.

We had a fantastic experience at Sagebrush Grill and Cantina in Taos, NM! The informal, relaxed atmosphere made it the perfect spot for a family outing. We started with the buffalo wings, which were deliciously spicy and perfectly cooked. The burger was juicy and flavorful, and it hit the spot just right. Our 7-year-old birthday boy, Anthony, absolutely loved his slider – it was the perfect size for him and made his day special. The friendly staff and cozy ambiance added to the wonderful dining experience. Highly recommend Sagebrush Grill and Cantina for a great meal in Taos!

Food taste was good but not prepared as asked. I had salad with steak added. Meat not cook as requested and refrigerator cold. My husband's rice and mixed veggie were the same. I just don't see the best grill. But I can say.....beer was good.

I have no idea why this establishment has only a 3.9. It almost deterred us from going there. We are so glad we ignored the 3.9 rating! It was perfect! We each enjoyed an amazing meal and I basked in a delicious glass of Bordeaux. We loved the atmosphere and the ambiance. I'd give more stars if I could.

Food bad, service bad, staff completely indifferent to mistakes. Staff basically ignored us unless we flagged them down, even being the only people in the place the staff couldn't be bothered to check on the table. First the waiter argues about diet coke v. regular coke with my 9 year old when she asks about the off flavor. Then she gets overcooked, old pasta, which she had asked for plain but they added cheese to. And when I say that, it was like the pasta that you don't get out of the pan and is hard and brown. Point it out to staff and they ask if she wants new pasta and when she says there was also cheese the waiter says "ya it comes with cheese". I mean it doesn't when you make plain pasta. Then the cook keeps giving us dirty looks after sending it back and sends under cooked pasta and the waiter comes back saying "plain pasta with nothing, better?" I could comment on the rest of the food and experience, but extrapolate that to a soggy appetizer and two adult entrees as well. Would never eat here again, terrible experience.

Great service from Cameron! I wouldn't go here for wings, (Maybe try the SW dishes like Chili Rellenos)) but the live music and attentiveness was beyond on point. Fantastic!

This place is located on the property of an awful hotel with the same name. The service is slow, the food is just ok and the waitstaff is so busy they hardly have time for customer service.

Was staying here and went to dinner on a Friday night. I got the prime rib special and it was pleasantly excellent. Service was slow and that's to be expected in Taos anymore. The server made a big deal about us wanting to do separate checks, 3 of us. First said he could not and it would be 20% fee. Ultimately he did and made a big deal about it to the point it was annoying.

I stayed at the Sagebrush in, so my first night in town it was an easy choice to eat dinner here and I'm so glad I did. I got a chimichanga which was delicious and a margarita that was everything I expected. The music every night was a wonderful addition and really pleasant never overtaking the ambience at all. Recommend for travelers to go check out Sagebrush Grill and Cantina and look around the great hotel and historic yards that it has. I know it's a little out of town but at some of the best food I had when traveling in New Mexico.

We stopped in for their prime rib special on Friday night. The food was amazing but the service was not the best and, because of our group size, we were automatically charged a 20% gratuity. It took 20 minutes to get our drink/dinner order placed, another 15 before the drinks showed, and another 30 waiting on the food. We never got offered a second round of drinks and it took another 30 minutes to get our checks and change once we finished eating. They have live music which was nice and I can't say enough about how good the prime rib tasted but beware the service.

I read they had a great happy hour. Wrong. They have no happy hour. We had an overpriced bottle of wine and some very good nachos. There were only 10 people in the cantina, but our server disappeared for long periods of time. Once I saw her outside smoking. I finally had to flag her down to get our check. I might go back for the nachos and hope for a different server.

The food wasn't tasty. The chips were stale and the queso was grainy. I got chicken enchiladas and the tortillas were falling apart and did not have any flavor. We ordered drinks from the bar and they were not mixed. Would not go back.

The music is great. Facility is fine and huge. However... The $20 Cobb Salad Chicken either needed to be much more tender or I would have needed a much sharper knife. The rest of it was a soggy mess of undistinguishable, green stuff. 2 pieces of bacon left over from breakfast. Granted it was 8:00 Pm. My bad. There is LOTS of it with carrots. I'll bring home 2/3 of it home for a soggier breakfast. It could be a song, "Soggy Cobb after 8 PM". Go for the music and beer.

The wait staff is amazing m, especially the two morning guys, and the food is pretty good. Coffee is delicious. My mom has been thrilled with everything she's ordered. We've had 2 breakfasts and a dinner. Recommend if you're in the area. Clean establishment.

I was in the main dining room. Food was really slow but friendly waitress Laura helped set the expectation. Bartender(s) (hidden in another room) promptly provided drinks which made it so much easier to keep... on... waiting... it was Dead Rabbit Old Fashioned... Ufta...believe me the old hare still thumps. Where the name comes from, I don't know . It got me through the hard starving part with enough buzz to not care about the neglect. Way better than nothing. I could see Kitchen be staff hustling to feed the barroom where the band was playing. Duh- I should have been over there. . Next time I'll figure that out. Interested to hear if food came any earlier over there. Dancing was certainly better. The bar there is kick ass beautiful. Gorgeous paintings, big wood beams and room to dance. If you have at least the energy of a Dead Rabbit Okd Fashioned. get your tail over there when your thirsty but not too hungry.

Avoid this place. Food is not inspiring and solid disgusting. I hardly ate anything and it's expensive. Not worth it!!

One of the worst experiences in lodging and dining ever! The rooms are old and not maintained. The handicapped room we were given we couldn't get the door to open, had to practically knock the door in to get it to open. The TV didn't work, and there was a party outside our window most of the night. Will never stay here again! The restaurant is slow and the food wasn't good. No coffee or water the entire meal. I had to give one star but that's being generous. DO NOT STAY HERE!

Amazing service and food. We fell in love with Sagebrush Grill and Cantina. We were in Taos during Thanksgiving break for six days and we ate most of our meals there. They have a bar next door that gets pretty busy and features local musicians. At the restaurant, the service is relaxed. All of the staff are friendly. The dining room is surrounded by beautiful paintings that reflect the landscape. The food is delicious - the baked potatoes are excellent as is their blackened salmon, beans, salad, steak, and fries. So many great things on their menu to enjoy and they also have specials. It's not a fancy place, but with an open kitchen, comfortable chairs and large tables, it was a place we looked forward to having our meals at during our visit.

The staff was attentive and nice. The portions were huge as we all brought the rest of our entrees home. Nachos, carne asada fries and the steak special were exceptional. Strongly recommend this restaurant.

The cantina is very limited on food. Don't expect prompt table side service at the bar, but if you want some cheap $5 beers and strong cocktails then this is the place to come. They have very limited hours on the weekdays, 4-9 I think. They are somewhat dog friendly. You are ok on the patio and maybe inside if it isn't busy.

Server was absolutely the rudest person I've ever had the misfortune of dealing with. After being seated we waited a while until she came by and pretty much asked "what do you want". No hello, no sorry about the wait. She then wouldn't seat part of our group that came in a little later than us, but when some regulars came in they got seated. We had some Vietnam era veterans with us that had to go up to the bar to be served and then carry their orders back to the table. Seems the server didn't want to be there that night or didn't want us there, and it showed. The food was good but I'd never step foot in there again due to the very rude service.

Great atmosphere outside, good drink , good service but the food is beyond below the standards. If u only come for the drinks and music then that's ok!

My family ate breakfast here and absolutely loved it. The decor is an authentic Adobe. The food was very tasty. The green chili smothered eggs was delicious! Our sever Daniel was extremely nice and hospitable.

We had a going away dinner for a friend last night. Big party and everyone was talking. The server Colt got very overwhelmed which is understandable. However, towards the end he became very rude and uncalled for. He spilt water all over one on the guests. Told others when he brought the wrong stuff "you get what you get". I have never been treated in such a way. When cleaning our table he started throwing dishes and broke a few. Very unprofessional. We loved Sage Brush until this point but we will never go there again.

Highly recommend this restaurant! In the evening there is live entertainment and the food is excellent. We enjoyed breakfast the next morning. I highly recommend this establishment. The staff is very friendly and professional.

Terrific dinner! Even after a power outage delay....quality food & service. Prime rib & rainbow trout was sublime!!!

We came to hear Chris Morel & Charlie Woehler out on the patio. Waited by a sign outside that said to wait for host to seat you, but no host in site for several minutes. I went inside to find host, but he was coming out to tell the rest of our party that they couldn't sit down without signing in. No problem, but you don't need to be rude about it. The host name is Simon. He is spending his time telling everyone what they can't do (can't move chairs, even though he took one of our chairs without asking), instead of seating people. Let's just say that they couldn't have picked a worst host, unless they don't want customers coming back.

We came to have dinner, we had to wait more than an hour to be served, and adults were served before the kids, there is more than an hour and the children haven't been served, all waiters and management are rude and no one wants to take responsibility about the table

Stayed at Sagebrush inn & ate at their restaurant...nice because they allow dogs on the patio & in the cantina. Service was great... our waitress Kelly was nice & so was the hostess. We ordered the cheese enchilada plate & fish tacos... it was all yummy!!! The tacos were interesting... two toasted flat corn tortillas with cheese in between then grilled diced fish, lettuce, cabbage & Pico de Gallo on top. It came with a nice salsa and plenty of limes. The ambiance is amazing & food was really great!! We may come back & share the nachos..

We sat in the bar area, at one of the small tables near the fireplace. The ambiance is rustic and romantic. The quality paintings around the room complete the southwest feel. The corn and poblano chowder is to die for! I regretted ordering only a cup. So good! The caesar salad was "southwestern", but I'm not sure how. The store bought croutons were a disappointment. Still tasted great and was dressed well. The truffle tater tots with parm and herbs were a tasty app. Our waitress was attentive and fun. Four stars because for the price I expect house made croutons and tots.

I ate breakfast here and thought it was okay. The buffet style offered breakfast potatoes, scrambled eggs, greasy sausage patties, soggy French toast, red salsa, and green chili. They also offered orange juice, water, tea, and coffee. The food was like warm and the service was poor. The food could have been much worse, but I would recommend staying at sagebrush- find breakfast and a hotel somewhere else.

This has been my second visit to this establishment and it gets better everytime. Your first impression of the building when walking in is wow, you definitely feel in the Southwest. Our bartender was Lou and he was extremely friendly and helpful. We ordered the nachos for an appertizer and it could have been our meal. For the main course I ordered the Prime Rib and was impressed. Definitely worth a stop if you are in Taos

The napkin they rolled the silverware in had a fresh stain on it. After I had to go to the bar to place my order because the one waiter didn't stop by I watched the bartender forget to put tequila in the margaritas and then claim he did. This place is a joke. Do not waste your money or time.

Wow, the trout is exceptional. Tonight we had the lamb riblets, they were absolutely delicious. The vegetables were good and service is better than expected for a hotel Restaurant. Would recommend eating here.

We came here for Christmas dinner but found it way substandard. The food was cold and bland, the prime rib was overcooked and the walk from the buffet to the dining room was long and hard for my elderly grandmother to negotiate. Will not be returning. Wait staff was lovely though.

We went for the live music and outdoor dining and left after half an hour of waiting for service. The music was good, the fresh lovely, but the wait staff was indifferent and overwhelmed.

Dont bring a huge party. Was with over 20 others and service awful. My spouse's drink arrived 30 min after i got mine. some got orders without the sides, and a couple got their steaks served on a desert plate with fries instead of the mashed potatoes that was supposed to be served. I get it its a lot of work but a rush like this should mean the staff falls apart and gives me attitude when I bring up the issues so they could fix them. Being nice and respectful goes a long way even if you're having a rough shift.

Let us start by saying "Welcome to Sagebrush, TX" If you want to experience Texas in TAOS, this is where you go. 90% of the people are from Texas. Texans are supposed to be friendly but there is a special rude breed which Sagebrush attracts. Bartenders are unapologetically rude too. Every time you come back thinking "Now, I have seen everything", there will be a bartender ruder than the previous one. The only reason I gave it 1 star instead of 0 is that the Drinks and food are not bad though. The welcome staff when you enter is very nice but unfortunately their stars get taken away by everything else.

As soon as my friends and I were seated at 5:30pm on the beautiful patio..it was evident that Customer Service was non-existent. We did not get all of our drinks when they were served. We never got the water we requested and my cup of coffee was actually a cup of tea. When I asked if I could please get coffee I was told by our Server that the coffee machine was empty and I could not get coffee. Simone, the only one with any Customer Service skills brought me coffee. Our Nachos were dried out on top and cold. Obviously they were sitting in the window under the heat lamp for quite awhile. The only thing enjoyable was sitting outside on their lovely patio. Hopefully they get their act together as I would really like to go back and listen to the music.

Maybe this is a case of inappropriate expectations, since the Sagebrush was recommended by our B&B (which is great); maybe it was a lack of preparation for the New Years Holliday; either way I was 100% dissatisfied. Our reservation was not honored, and we were seated at an overflow table. The menu was cut to only buffet. My drink never arrived. They charged us for the automatic gratuity (which they created). Service was inattentive. And on top of that, the food was the quality you would expect at a cheap hotel's meeting room. Will not be returning, even though the head chef seemed nice. 0 stars was not an available option.

We went on a Saturday night and had a great time! Excellent live music and lots of people dancing! Unique cocktail menu with some tasty drinks! We didn't eat but saw a lot of people munchy on appetizers that looked good. Overall, a nice nightlife spot in Taos and a fun time!

Fantastic time at the Sagebrush! Awesome atmosphere and great food and service in a cool historic setting. Came on a Friday night and had a delicious Prime Rib, cooked perfect & huge portion. After dinner had margaritas at the bar and enjoyed the live band that was playing and made for a really fun atmosphere. The service was really good and despite being very busy was prompt and very friendly. Overall a great time at the Sagebrush, can't wait to go back!!!

This was our first time here. Got to the bar very very close to the end of happy hour and the bartender was able to get us the discount anyway. We ate up at the bar and both had very good dinners. Mine was the trout. It was amazing! Sauce was perfect and the seasonal veggies had the most delicious butter sauce on them. My husband had the burger and fries. They were both very good. It was fun to see the locals stopping in for a drink. Seems like a really friendly place.

Such a beautiful place but unfortunately the wait staff ruined our experience. The bartender was so rude and the waitress was too busy to wait on us. Made us feel like we were intruding. Will not go back

It had been a bad day with a friend cancelling out on meeting up after I flew in to see her. Found a room in Taos at Sagebrush Inn. Read reviews for the restaurant and decided to give it a try. I wanted a drink and will NOT drink & drive. Glad I gave them a try!! Rustic dining room is a perfect fit for the Adobe / Spanish colonial motif. Started with a Prickly Pear Margarita and the bartender knows how to make a drink! For dinner I started off with the small bowl of corn & pablano chowder. Not too spicy but just enough to warm you a little on a chilly night. The entree was the lamb riblets with fries. Skip the fries and focus on the crispy pieces of wonderfully marinated and seasoned lamb! I've been on the road to Boston, San Antonio & San Diego for almost 3 weeks on vacation. Not only were these riblets the best thing I've had on vacation, they're the best thing I've had in a restaurant in years!

I had kids home for Christmas so for Christmas dinner we decided to go to the buffet at the sagebrush inn. I had read in the paper that they had new owners and an existing chef was mentioned as well. The meal was completely lack luster. The price was just under $25 a person but the food was industrial. It was like something you would find at a Luby's cafeteria. The entire meal was completely uninspired. With lots of people coming through the door for the first time or for this special holiday you would think they would up their game. I won't return unless I hear about a wholesale change with their food service. I would suggest you look elsewhere for a meal in Taos. There's plenty of other great places to eat.
