Google
I ordered a chicken taco and five rolled tacos. The chicken taco was massive. It was actually pretty tasty. The rolled tacos were a bit on the small side and lacked the flavor I was looking for. However, the hot carrots, jalapeños, and salsas were all really good. I’ll be back to try out a few more items so I can give a better review. Update: I returned to try the California burrito. As a disclaimer, I got it through the drive thru, took it home, and reheated it for 10 minutes in the oven. It was pretty good! However, it was a bit dry, due to them not giving sour cream and guacamole by default—they’re add-one, which I didn’t realize at the time. Still, a 3.9/5-star Cali burrito. Recommend adding either sour cream or guacamole to help with dryness.

Google
Saguaro's was a favorite when I lived in SD and is still the first place I go right off the plane when I visit. Gotta get a horchata and a CA burrito. I wish I lived closer.

Google
My 2 year old daughter and I got very sick after eating here. My wife was fine and our meal at Saguaro’s was the only one she didn’t share, so the cause is pretty obvious. I called the restaurant to report it, but after I shared what happened they quickly spoke in Spanish in the background and pretended not to hear me. They stopped picking up their phone after that and never called back. That could’ve been handled better in my opinion.

Google
Had the machaca plate and jamaica drink was delicious and filling. Sorry about the picture. I was making tacos from it. Finish the whole thing and was still hungry for more

Google
Garbage rolled tacos thrown together by lazy employees. Half of the rolled tacos had nothing on them, literally was the only customer there and they screwed up rolled tacos and forgot a bag of hot carrots. Keep raising the minimum wage so we can pay a premium for food and lazy employees that couldn’t care less about their job. ONE AND DONE WITH THIS PLACE! Plenty of other great Mexican joints in town.

Google
Ordered a cheese quesdilla to go. It was good. Will come back again!😋👍

Google
I have enjoyed my simple vegan guac bean burrito. Good beans. I love that you know right from the beginning that they don't use lard. Thank you :)

Google
I realize trying one thing on a menu and reviewing it isn’t always a valid representation. That being said, I had a taste and I’m reviewing it anyway. Long wait for food in drive thru with only one car in front...and the prices didn’t match what was posted on the display; so service points dropped from the start. $12 and chance for the carne asada fries... I was surprised seeing the portions so that’s a plus.::then dug in looking for flavor and there was none...made me crave animal style fries from in&out. They should add some herbs and grilled onions or even a slaw mix..texture and taste wise it needed something. But the portion looked good. May return and try another item.

Yelp
The red salsa is everything. For a minute, the recipe was getting messed with, but they have it down perfectly now. I usually go to Mexican take out based on the salsa, so I hope they don't change. The menu items are ok, I usually get breakfast burritos, although BF was a bit disappointed that the chicken burrito was only chicken.
google avatar

Yelp
I'm surprised this place has low reviews. It's one of my go to spots for Mexican food when I'm in North Park. I personally love their mini adobada tacos which paired with their green salsa is a delicious combo. Service has always been friendly and fast! Most people do drive through so the indoor seating is usually open and calm. Don't let the low reviews fool you, give it a try!
google avatar

Leslie P.

Yelp
They are Not good anymore and we are highly disappointed with the food. We used to go here a lot. Not anymore because they never are consistent and fail to care it seems based on these reviews.
google avatar

Josh C.

Yelp
Adobada torta on a LATE Friday night. The quality remains the same. We'll seasoned and flavorful adobada pork, fully stacked torta with all the fixings. Red salsa pairs perfectly with it. Solid and quick service
google avatar

Elijah C.

Yelp
It's middling. Unfortunate to have such a dry machaca burrito, which is usually a relatively wet burrito without sauce as the veggies release moisture. On top of that no seasoning. Nothing to write home about in any sense, would not spend money here and just go make something at home!
google avatar

Yelp
Best Menudo in town!!!!! I work in the North Park area and have tried several menudos in several Mexican restaurants in the area. Saguaro's has the most special menudo I've tried in years. Keep up the good job.
google avatar

Stephanie B.

Yelp
No no no. Haven't eaten here in over a decade and wow what an incredible disappointment it was. I ordered a CA burrito with carne asada no cheese. What I got was a sad excuse for a burrito: crappy carne asada bordering on shredded beef, soggy greasy old fries, and a bunch of cheese. Menu says there's salsa fresca on it, but mine had none. I ate half the burrito and had to chuck the rest. Do yourself a favor, do not eat here. It sucks. **update 1 day later. Husband is sick and all he ate yesterday was a veg burrito**

Stephanie R.

Yelp
I'm not usually one to post something if the food is just bad because I wanna take into account that people have good and bad days. But since I found these little white hairs in not just 1 plate, but 2 plates. I can't let that slide. Came here for the first time since they have a drive thru and we wanted just a bite to eat. Service was quick, and the worker was kind as well. The food is very bland, as if there's no seasoning. And it sort of tastes old. The beans don't really taste like beans to me, they taste like corn dogs.... You can just tell it's pretty bland. Probably won't come back until I see some improvement with their reviews. Best of luck.
google avatar

Lori F.

Yelp
I came back after 11 months They must have a new cook. The rolled tacos were crispy and the salad was fresh. Just like the old days. I've been coming here for 20 years. Hopefully they will be consistent again. Does the owner or mgr read these reviews ?

Yelp
Food quality is low. There's a million better options. When I asked them about replacing the worst Machaca burrito I've ever tasted (which I only took a couple bites from) with the cheapest thing on the breakfast menu, they were super rude, unapologetic and dismissive. I asked nicely. I've eaten the exact same order from all over the city. Theirs is disgusting. P.S. A street dwelling person asked if I could buy him something to eat because he was starving. i made the mistake of ordering two machacas when I first came in - so he could eat too. The starving homeless guy didn't want to finish his either, if that tells you anything.

Yelp
I enjoyed this place and it was perfect for a late night bite after bar hopping. Decent pricing and a huge menu. I really enjoyed the carne asada, I recommend the burrito or the tacos!! The tacos are huge!! When you ask for a side of chips they give you to go box full, only for 2-3 bucks, I was shocked. The horchata is a must try, soo tasty and so much cinnamon! The only thing that I thought was odd was when trying to order a chicken burrito, they said there was only chicken inside..and you can add stuff in, but they don't already put it in like other burritos. Other than that I have enjoyed the tacos and burrito.

Yelp
One of our favorite takeout spots, the food and portions here are great overall, always delicious and satisfying. The place is always nice and clean for those wanting to dine in. Service is usually friendly and quick, and we often avoid peak times. We are longtime customers, and once in awhile, there's a mistake with our order, though rare. Awhile ago, I had ordered a breakfast burrito and after getting home, discovered the eggs were missing, but the burrito was still really good, Lol. Still, their breakfast burrito options are limited compared to similar eateries. In other words, you may have to customize and that's where they sometimes mess up. Again, we are longtime customers, so sometimes we'll have the order corrected, while other times we'll let it go. Not a big deal because their prices are reasonable compared to other nearby places.

Andrew D.

Yelp
Popped in for a breakfast burrito because down the street was charging $15 for a breakfast burrito. Got the biggest one here for 10 and it's so good! East spot. Would recommend!

Joey A.

Yelp
The quality of the food is very bland. And they skimp on the ingredients. Not worth it, go to the other place off swift and university
google avatar

Daniel Z.

Yelp
24/7 hour shop so it's very convenient. Unfortunately I was a bit disappointed in the California burrito, as it didn't have any sour cream or guacamole. It was pretty dry and for the price of $10 I would have expected a real California burrito.
google avatar

Charles B.

Yelp
I go here just for the $2 hardshell ground beef tacos. A rarity in SD. Limited hot sauce selections, but good nonetheless.
google avatar

Christopher A.

Yelp
I know that everyone has that one Mexican food item upon which they judge the quality of a restaurant. For me, it's the chicken quesadilla, and this one is fantastic
google avatar

Shawn B.

Yelp
Yeah, so me and my family have been coming here since 1998. We love the food. We def have a few favorites. There's a major flaw though and it doesn't seem to be going away. Whatever you get, expect to get free sides of inattention and bad attitude. They don't greet you at the window when you pull up, they leave you waiting a long time without saying anything, no manners like please and thank you, and if you ask for anything there's eyerolling and attitude I don't know if it's because they think the place just can't lose or they just really hate their jobs. Honestly I'm borderline about even coming back again. I really like what the cooks make, but the workers you have to deal with are something else. If it was any worse, I would flat out stop coming. I really love the place, the food is great, they're open really late, it's basically tradition to eat there where we are in the area. I would give them a high 4 if the customer service was there, but it just isn't.

Jenice H.

Yelp
This place was so good!!! Definitely doubted it because of the area. Their customer service could be better but overall food quality and taste is 10/10.

Kenneth M.

Yelp
This place sucks! Just returned my burrito. Ordered a Cali Burrito. Old meat and fries. I asked for extra crispy fries. I saw the cook grab old fries and throw them back in the fryer. Never again. Bye Felicia!
google avatar

Juan V.

Yelp
Pretty good Mex at a decent price, nothing special but not crummy, either. The torta was tasty (especially the beans) and the guac (more like "avocado sauce") and chips were huge and pretty good, too. Service was friendly but I spoke to her in Spanish, although she was really nice to a "gabacho" who came in; maybe she's not the same lady others have complained about.
google avatar

Cathy G.

Yelp
I've been going to this taco shop for nearly 25 years, ever since I moved to the neighborhood. It's had ups and downs, but their shredded beef tacos and fresh made chips have been consistently my favorite. I also love their limone agua fresca--fresh tasting limeade. I am surprised I had never reviewed the.m in all these years. I was sad to see their low rating. In all the years I've gone here I've never experienced the outrageous rudeness described in recent reviews.

Nancy K.

Yelp
I've been here multiple times now and have always left happy. I've had tacos/ CA burritos and so on. Customer service is always great and can't complain about the food!
google avatar

Sabrina T.

Yelp
Covid-19 It wasn't as bad as everyone said it would be. The fries were definitely not fried to a crisp but my carne asada fries were hot, carby, and salty just like the PMS ordered so I wasn't mad. I was opting for Lolitas or Cotixan but they disabled adding special instructions through Doordash--what a buzzkill, by the way. So, despite the scary 3 star average, I decided to go with Saguaro's. They're close to my apartment and they let me add pico de gallo to my fries (which is a pouty must for me). My boyfriend got rolled tacos and he wasn't mad about them. Then again, you must suck at the taco shop game if you don't get those right. We also enjoyed their red hot sauce. It's not runny and flavorless like the stuff you get from most places who know their average drunk patrons. Besides, the fun part of any new taco shop is getting to know their hot sauce. There's only so many ways to know a taco shop and what better way to make your selection in San Diego's endless row of them? You want green sauce? Move along. You want red sauce? Orange sauce? Multiple pools of sauce where the drunk public takes them by the spoonfuls? You get the picture. Lately, I prefer mine delivered to me in under 55 minutes.

Nic C.

Yelp
Over charged and fucking metal shavings in my food! Never again! I can't believe how bad it's gotten.
google avatar

Scott L.

Yelp
I ordered a sandwich at the drive up, but the very poor woman didn't bother to give it to me. She only gave me the drink.
google avatar

Julius E.

Yelp
Chicken burrito was listed as $7.50 but got charged $10.25. Didn't sit well at all either as meat was cold. I'd recommend Brothers Mexican about 3 blocks north.
google avatar

Jack M.

Yelp
This place makes a pretty good breakfast burrito. I ordered the ham, egg, cheese, and asked them if they could chop up a fresh jalapeno and add it to the mix and I was given a thumbs up. Unfortunately, I think the message got a little obscured because they put pickled jalapenos inside which I am not a huge fan of, so I had to remove them the best I could. After taking care of all that, I was able to take my first bite and it was good. The ham was not of the best quality but still tasty enough and they put a good amount of it in the burrito. The eggs were pretty well scrambled and lightly seasoned. I liked the flour tortilla. It was soft and moist and tasted good. I tried all three hot sauces, the orange-red and green hot sauces from the well organized salsa bar. They were both very good and packed a medium heat. The deep crimson was spicy and had an aggressive nature in a good way. Service was friendly enough but not much for conversation.
google avatar

Yelp
There isn't another 24h traditional San Diego-style taco shop in North Park. The service/attitudes are middle-of-the-road & so is most of the food*. That said, for those who live in the heart of North Park & want one of the following items: * crave tacos dorados (fried-corn-tortilla tacos w/ San Diego-style toppings) * bean+cheese burritos * San Diego-style enchiladas (cheddar cheese, drowning in a greasy chile colorado sauce) * Mass-market aguas frescas like Horchata Olé ...and want to do it in one of the following ways: * walking over because you "shouldn't drive" * past 9p ...then Saguaro's is the right place for you! *(relative to San Diego overall, which beats almost any city on this side of the border)
google avatar

Riley C.

Yelp
Although rugged looking on the outside, this North Park favorite is my go-to for any burrito I can think of. Personally, I am biased to the California Burrito and their red hot salsa is to die for! Their rolled tacos are not too shabby either. Also, as someone who has a dairy allergy and has to ask a lot of restaurants, Saguaros is always considerate and never makes a mistake.
google avatar

Ed P.

Yelp
Accidentally found a low price Placed in North Park the Chili Reino was outstanding the surf and turf very well done . $20 great price in midst of high end dining establishments.
google avatar

Kristin T.

Yelp
I ordered the carne asada quesadilla from here and it was super greasy and not a lot of cheese, mostly just a ton of carne asada. I have a really hard time deciding what to order from this restaurant. The good thing was it came with sour cream and guacamole but the guacamole is not very good.
google avatar

Matheus A.

Yelp
Very unfortunate that drive thru service is the worst possible, the lady was extremely rude for absolutely no reason. This is the first and last time I eat in this place, the food is very good but the service is very far from acceptable.
google avatar

Brad B.

Yelp
Yeah, a slight bump up on this place from three stars to four stars. The reason being is, man, they're clutch in a pinch, and my pinch happened last Friday after a concert at The Observatory when I needed some substance to soak up the booze. My order was a carne asada burrito with only guacamole and cheese added. The total was about $9.00, which I find to be a bit high but who am I to judge high prices after buying cocktails all night at the concert? I digress... This burrito was fresh, the carne was juicy, the guac and cheese were evenly distributed, and I happened to find a gap in their usual busy weekend rush of drunks, which made for a relatively quick trip. I had a few bites in the shop and the rest came home with me. My final report of this interaction is that their burritos travel well and it was just as good at home as it was in the shop. The best? No. Good? Yes.
google avatar

Teresa S.

Yelp
I've always loved coming here especially since it was very close to home and work. But yesterday (1/8/22) the service was beyond terrible. Whoever the lady was taking orders was extremely rude. I had never experienced such terrible service visiting this taco shop. Like I said my food was great, I just didn't like the cashiers nasty attitude. Would've been 5 stars but it's her fault. If you don't like your job then quit!!!
google avatar

Stephanie S.

Yelp
You ever eat a raw potato? No? Well if you come here that's what you are getting. I had my friend buy me a burrito here on her way home one day and when I was eating the burrito the fries inside tasted undercooked. Now, almost 4 weeks later, I find myself coming here getting my own food. Thinking this time would be different. I ordered carnesada fries this time around instead of a burrito. The menu said it was $9.50 and with tax came out to $10.70. Thought that was a little high. They took a while making my food. I said to myself, "As long as the food is amazing they can take forever." As I waited I saw they charge a 30 cent fee for debit cards posted on their window. I wished they would have let me know that as you took my card. Now the high price made sense. They know no one would notice that till later after a customer had paid. When I got home and started eating I was so upset. All the fries were practically raw! It's like they cut them up, put them in the fryer long enough to get soaked with grease and immediately took them out. I can't even eat the carne asada fries because they were so raw and unbeatable. Not to mention there is NO SPICE or flavor to their hot sauce. Both green and red taste exactly the same and were extremely bland. Would not recommend anyone going here.
google avatar

Michael T.

Yelp
I usually love this spot but the last 2 times I gotten the wrong order. I'd double check when your grab yours

Annie N.

Yelp
I recommend! Portions are super big and cheap as well. They're open 24/7 as well! The burritos are HUGE! I got 2 tacos thinking I could finish them. One was more than enough to make me full
google avatar

Maritess C.

Yelp
Came here craving bacon breakfast burrito. This place is open 24 hours a day 7 days a week. Good thing they opened early as most places are closed on early Sunday mornings. I got a bacon breakfast burrito and drank a pink lemonade. My daughter and I shared the large pink lemonade. The green salsa was good and spicy. It gave a kick to my burrito. The burrito was huge. It was filled with eggs, bacon, potatoes, and cheese. I put the green tomatillo sauce on it. Great flavors blended well. The carrots were perfect. A great place for breakfast burritos. I definitely want to come back for other things on their menu. There were a few tables inside along with a broken game machine. There's a salsa bar you can help yourself to salsas and carrots. Cool place to get your breakfast burrito fix.
google avatar

Naomi C.

Yelp
Wow. highly disappointed. I honestly have to say this is my least favorite taco shop I've been to... and I'm a San Diego native so I've been to many. We ordered carne asada fries and check out what they served us. They knew these damn fries were super over cooked and unappealing but tried to hide it under the guacamole and carne asada. We also ordered the flautas which tasted soggy. Will not be coming back
google avatar

L L.

Yelp
Their shrimp burrito is really good and the red achiote sauce makes all the difference. I go thru drive thru every time. We've also got the breakfast burrito and really tasty too. For fast Mexican drive thrus this is the one for us. I USHealthworks don't buy anywhere else. The four stars is because sometimes I make the trip to get the achiote shrimp and the amount of sauce is inconsistent and not always enough.
google avatar

Dani W.

Yelp
It feels frozen. I don't even know how that's possible but I can get a drive thru quick here when I don't want to park in northpark but quickly regret it. Food is bland and not really fresh. Meat unseasoned and dry usually. Not a fan. But the convenience of the drive thru helps.
google avatar

Jennifer C.

Yelp
Constantly come here for breakfast burritos. The drive thru is convenient and usually pretty fast. Not quite sure on the hours but for the most part they're open pretty late. You can change and add extra items to your burrito for an extra charge but please ALWAYS check your order. I had a few times where I got something completely different from what I asked which is the only reason I took off a star. The burritos are pretty huge, I can never finish a whole one by myself. You have to have their hot sauce! I swear they have the best one.
google avatar

Javier M.

Yelp
The food was amazing the carne asada isn't the best but it's what u pay for the breakfast burritos are out of this world when I went 2 days ago the woman at the counter forgot to give me my sodas and when I asked said I'm doing something I said ok, not 30 seconds later she looked at me again and said I'm busy wait. She then grabbed my ready to hand to me burrito and flung it on the counter it was not as I had asked for it and then slammed the two bottles of jarritos on the counter. I imagine this is the same lady all the other terrible service yelps are about it's a shame cause it's a nice place. They should get rid of her asap because the food is wonderful her attitude stinks up the kitchen
google avatar

Mickey M.

Yelp
Come here in the day, at night the lady straight hates her job. Rolls her eyes and doesn't give a damn about your order. Super rude too. Like whats your problem? Why you taking it out on customers. The food is alright if you're drunk. Its meh.
google avatar

Kristin A.

Yelp
worst customer service I've ever had, server was rude and annoyed :( dry breakfast burrito too. Would rate less than 1 star if possible fo sho
google avatar

Ali L.

Yelp
Service is terrible. Woman working acts like you're a problem no matter how kind you are to her. Unfortunate
google avatar

Jimmy P.

Yelp
They are never are actually open 24/7. Correct your shit. Been coming for years and y'all fail at late night. Such a shame.
google avatar

Sean B.

Yelp
Ah, the last drunken refuge of my late twenties. I used to come to Saguro's buzzed, drunk, or just desperate for some really cheap inauthentic Mexican food covered in cheddar cheese. Well, now in my late thirties I just know that better places are out there, but I had a lapse in judgement recently. I was just craving a simple quesadilla and I was in the area, so I came in around 1am. There was a man passed out holding a pizza to greet us when we walked in. I ordered the plain quesadilla, but what I received was a monstrosity. My all cheddar quesadilla was sandwiched between this green goop. I guess they call this runny green goop guacamole?! It had no flavor and certainly didn't resemble anything with avocado in it. With every bite this green snot filled my mouth. I ended up trying to squeeze out this mucous puke green crap as best I could just to stomach my late night craving. What's up Saguro's? Please stop serving green snot. Thank you!
google avatar

Sean F.

Yelp
They have decent Mexican food here for a decent price, I cannot say that they are best by any means but they are convenient because they are close by to where I live and they have been there for quite some time. When I'm not interested in going to a restaurant and spending a lot of money this is the place where I go. They have tons of selections to choose from from burritos to tacos to taquitos to enchiladas to combination plates their menu is pretty extensive. They have a drive-through as well as a dine in area, it is rather small inside and maybe seats 20 people at most, but if you do go inside grab yourself some chips or some hot carrots . The usual items that are pretty good are the shredded beef tacos or the taquitos ,They also have menu items for vegetarians as well .
