Google
4 ⭐. Mainly because we didn't order food, so we can't make any statements on that. Atmosphere was top notch, right on the beach with great views. Lots of seating, dj playing music. Our drinks were nice and cold, and we had a delicious orange creamsicle shot. If we were ever in this area again we'd definitely hang out here. And we would want to try the food.

We walked over from the beach as they opened and we greeted by the bar tender who was also the waitress. Quick and simple order process, you them go find a seat. They call your name shortly afterward and dive right in. Pizza is always good!

Google
Chill beach side bar and pizza place. The personal hot honey and pepperoni pizza is worth a try. DJ was playing Sunday afternoon but wasn’t too loud was still able to have a conversation at our table.

Great beach side pizza! Stopped while driving down the PVH. Only downside is needing to pay for parking to get pizza, but not the restaurants fault.

Everyone check your receipts before you leave this establishment! I was helped by Bella L and she added a tip to my total. If I hadn’t looked at my receipt I would not have known she added the tip. Her excuse was that the machine is already preset to tip! Unacceptable! I have never been to an establishment that has the tip preset. That is illegal. On top of that she was rude and unprofessional. That’s unacceptable and unfortunate that we are giving business to this establishment that is stealing from its customers. So, BE AWARE! Check your receipt and make sure a tip is not added by the staff without your consent. As far as the food goes, the pizza was ok. It is very overpriced for the quality. I wish my experience would’ve been a better one, but unfortunately it wasn’t.

I hate to be so critical but today was terrible at Sahara. The service was terrible. The female bartender was rude! They didn’t have mixed drinks today. Last weekend they had the most amazing watermelon margaritas. You’d think with it being Mother’s Day weekend they’d have good cocktails but not the case. We ended up ordering a pizza. We wanted half pepperoni, half Canadian bacon with pineapple. She said they don’t do half and half. Ok. I get it. We ordered Canadian bacon with pineapple and fresh slices of jalapeños. It was great if you like really thin pizza like we do. Super thin crust, huge pizza big enough to share with 4 people. $28 for a large. Kinda skimpy on the toppings for the price. $10 modelo beers kill me! Seriously!! $10?? When we went to pay, we noticed it automatically added a 20% tip on the order. Luckily we saw it and left a custom tip. Apparently all of the beach bars (Sea Legs, Sea Salt, Huntington House) add an automatic 20% gratuity so be aware when paying!

PIZZZZZZZZA!!!! It was outstanding, very quick and fresh. Easy spot to get to is on the beach and staff was extremely friendly and helpful with helping us make a decision.

A wonderful place to grab a pizza or a beer at the beach. Great staff. Lots of comfortable place to lounge and play!

Yelp
When a fellow soccer mom friend sent out the post game plan for the team to meet up at Sahara Sandbar & Pizza for a some drinks, food and fun, the first thing I did was check out their Yelp page to skim the reviews and photos. It looked like a decent place to hang and it worked out well! Luckily, one of the team managers made a reservation ahead of time, so we had a perfect spot reserved for our group. When we arrived, we did have to stand in a line to order our food and drink, but it was ready quickly and while we're a pretty easy crowd to please, everyone was very happy with the pizza and bevvies. I personally enjoyed a couple of vodka sodas and the pepperoni pizza with honey. My son went for cheese pizza and wings and was content with that. Plenty of other parents enjoyed a variety of beers and other drinks. We all loved being right on the beach... the boys even took a soccer ball and played while we sat back and relaxed. The one weird thing was that the restrooms are pitch black with no light whatsover once you close the door. As I write this, perhaps I just missed a lightswitch somewhere and if that's the case, how embarrasing! (Someone let me know if you got this far?!) In addition to a fun, casual atmosphere, reasonable prices and good food and drink, there was a DJ when we were there, enhancing the happy hour atmosphere and sunset. I recommend heading this way if you're in the area and are looking for a place to hang for a bit!

Yelp
I love a little walk with my good friend on Friday afternoon at the State Beach. This is our favorite location for a recuperative beverage (beer). The barkeep is always ready with a little joke, the beer is cold, the service is fast and friendly. We like to take our brews to the comfy wood chairs on the sand adjacent to the bike path. My friend and I like to sit and sip and chat. The pizza looks amazing. The music is unobtrusive, but peppy. We are kind of aficionados of the beach adjacent bars along this stretch of the California "Riviera". The Sahara is our mutual favorite. I will warn you to check the days and hours which are irregular.

Yelp
Had a really good pizza wings and salad tonight at Sahara Sandbar in Huntington Beach. Very nice ambience with the sunset and being able to seek Catalina. The service was great, thank you, Bella.

Yelp
Good pizza and unbeatable views! My daughter and I shared a pepperoni and sausage pizza na sit was very good. Good crust and tasty ingredients. Worth checking out if you're in town!

Yelp
Surprisingly good wood fired pizza. The Personal Size is pretty tiny, but enough for a light snack for 2 people. Huge selection of beers. Very few wines to choose from. They also have cocktails. Fun loud atmosphere with a live DJ taking a mashup approach to the music. Think Dua Lipa vocals overlaid on a Daft Punk beat. The Dogfather pizza had pepperoni, salami, green and red peppers, onions, and sliced jalapenos. Delicious! The Golden Road Street Cart Salt and Lime beer was good but too salty after a while. Shaded outdoor seating. If the picnic tables don't already have the umbrellas on them, just ask. And the umbrellas tilt too. Off towards the back corner is a patio chair area which is perfect for watching the sunset with a drink in hand.

Yelp
BELLA IS AMAZING! She is such an excellent bartender and made us the best drinks. My nephew and I had the best time enjoying football at Sahara Sandbar and pizza. It's so beautiful. It seems surreal. Sahara is a perfect name.

Yelp
Beautiful place by the beach , with amazing pizza and great service . Make sure to try everything out

Yelp
Probably the best pizza on the beach like they say. The margaritas were refreshing and strong. I mean, it's on the beach, what more can I asked for. A nice pit stop after a nice bike ride on a beautiful day. With the live dj playing some good music.

Moriah M.

Yelp
Just came for dinner and they're closed. Park says they don't open on weekdays. Please update your hours. Thanks.

Yelp
Fun place! Good music! Drinks and food yummy on the pricey end but near beach and worth it!. Service was good bunch of fun staff! Would definitely return!

Yelp
Yelp has done Sahara's Pizza a little dirty. I agree that this is not a gourmet pizza spot.. but who would expect gourmet pizza five steps from the sand in Huntington Beach? You go to Sahara's for the views/atmosphere first, drinks second.. and bites third. I stopped by Sahara's with a few of my girlfriends to experience Huntington Beach's newest addition. We ordered margaritas (YUM!) and a 50/50 large pizza, featuring Margherita On The Rocks and the Maui Wowie. I'll start by saying that the margaritas were easily 5-stars. This drink balanced the exact amount of sweet to salty and packed quite the punch. The Margherita pizza was a great vegetarian option and the pineapple in the Maui Wowie was perfection - fight me. What makes Sahara's so amazing is their kick-ass atmosphere. This is the perfect spot to catch a sunset with a beautiful view of the coastline. They also had a killer music playlist and a number of outdoor games: cornhole, beer pong, etc. Downsides: I said it once and I'll say it again.. sauce should not cost extra. When you pay $80 for a bill you shouldn't have to pay .50 cents for a small side of ranch. There's no indoor seating available and it can get a little chilly this close to the ocean. They provide a number of heaters, but I'd recommend bringing a light blanket to combat the beach breeze. Sahara's will be the perfect compliment to our summer bonfires.

Yelp
Terrible service limited menu staff very rude paid $20 for parking don't do it. Pizza was bland.

Yelp
Some of the old snack bars along Huntington Beach, CA are being changed to these great little pizza, food, beer and wine eateries and I love the idea. No longer are they abandoned eyesores, but cool little eateries sitting next to the bike, walk, skate path. We popped down for a slice of pizza, beer and a glass or plastic cup of wine for dinner. We couldn't be happier. The slices of pizza are very large, and the wine and beer was the perfect accompaniment on a warm evening. We each had a slice of the Margherita pizza and it was fresh and flavorful, we were not disappointed at all. We sat along the fence at the long bar, did some people watching and watched the bikers, walkers, runners and skater's on the path. It was the perfect spot to watch a sunset and enjoy a bite on the beach. Food and service can be difficult at these little eateries, so we had no expectation of white table service and a full bar, nor wine in a glass. It is on the beach, fun with good food.

Yelp
Haven't ordered yet but looks promising! Ambience is I'll check in about service and food.

Yelp
$30 for a pizza is ludicrous, how are they never open and feel like they can charge that much?
google avatar

Terri K.

Yelp
We rode our bikes up for a drink & snack. Yummy watermelon margaritas!! Pretty decent wings...they have a kick. Friendly helpful service. Lots of areas to sit, a sand corner with low tables & hammock, umbrellas & shaded areas. We chose the beach facing barstools for great people watching. Not needed today but they have outdoor heaters if cold. Several outdoor games & restrooms. Family friendly & yet a good outdoor bar too.

Yelp
Amazing pizza and location right on the Huntington Beach sands. Seasonal availability is the only drawback.

Yelp
I'll give it two Star's because of the location, actually, the location is five stars but overall it was a two star experience. They have this big menu, but actually don't have anything except pizza. They have lines through everything. Bathrooms were probably some of the grossest things we've ever seen. The two or three people that were working there were overwhelmed or so it seemed and apologized for the state of the bathrooms. Even try to clean the up somewhat - they didn't even have paper towels or soap to wash up after using the pigpen. The pizza was fair, at least it wasn't frozen. We only had wine and beer, but the beer was not that cold, which was disappointing because we asked if it was ice cold & were told - no problem. They have a nice selection of alcohol. I guess that's the main objective, selling alcohol. If you're driving, you gotta pay 15 bucks to get into Huntington Beach State Park. Most of the people in there are on bikes. From what I understand... at least 3 or 4 of the state bathrooms or converted into these beach party spots by one person. A woman I'm told. Really bad management at this one because of the filthy conditions. Oh well... in the perfect spot, they've got the only game in town.

Yelp
When did Huntington Beach have a pizza joint on the sand?? Was that the greatest idea ever invented in Southern California? Not sure. We came after a beach clean up on a Friday afternoon and it wasn't busy when we arrived but picked up. The music was a little loud so not sure if they can adjust that at all or what. Parking - if you go through the beach will be pricey but you can always park farther and then walk here! I liked the atmosphere of the place. Very themed and desert oasis. The bathrooms were also the public bathrooms but nicely decorated. Our full size pepperoni and Hawaiian style took a little long but I think I was just hungry. When it did arrive though --- wow. What a sight for sore eyes. It was HUGE pie. Enough for like, eight of us. Like one pizza was good for us. But we got two and it was amazing. I liked the big pieces of ham and pineapple but the pepperoni had more of that unami salty flavor. I really liked this pizza and only dreamt about bringing one home. What is there to complain about? Probably that getting here would kinda be a headache. Great service though - just turn the DJ down a lil.

Yelp
These places are popping up all over HB. What used to be the normal snack bar building with roll up door/windows is now being replaced by beer/wine/cocktail/food spots. They paint the building, add a cheap entryway, take over 1/2 of the bathrooms, add music and tables and charge $10 for a beer. Don't get me wrong. The beer and, in this case, pizza, was decent but it's pricey. This particular place has no cocktails but some of the other spots up the beach do. Their pizza was good and the music was not too loud and my wife and I had a quick visit.
google avatar

Isabella A.

Yelp
Disappointed in the quality of food. We arrived here excited for a fresh pizza but they served us something that had been sitting there for hours. We left the pizza there due to the disappointment. We got two rounds of drinks and they were generous with the alcohol which was a positive.
google avatar

Michelle B.

Yelp
OK... I generally try to see the positive and all things when possible... But I gotta be honest and I'm a little disappointed about this place... I have occasionally visited this place during the year and have had a really good time and some good pizza... My husband and I decided to take our bikes down here and have some pizza after we got off work... I jumped on yelp to make sure that they would be open and their hours showed that they would be open until 8 PM... by the time we got down there it was about 6:45 and it look like there was a bunch of people enjoying food and drinks and the view. When we got up to the window to order, the young girls stated that they were no longer open and they stop serving drinks and food about 15 minutes ago. So that means they stopped serving at 6:30... Being a little upset, but now our dinner plans would have to change mentioned to her about her hours on the website. She stated that the hours are incorrect and that the hours were still there winter hours and that they were not on the summer schedule yet. Please remember, we are in the middle of July... i'm sure that the girl saw the frustration on my face, but it was just not cool. You can't just close down when you want to. Ended up riding our bikes over to Eat Chow in Newport and it was amazing!

Yelp
Fantastic spot by the beach to grab a bite and have a drink with friends! Great to bring your out of towners for a taste of the beach life
google avatar

George Y.

Yelp
First Saturday open. Not bad overall and we'll return when the wind isn't at gale force. Good: beach ambiance. Mozzarella sticks, good size and tasty pizza slices, clean bathrooms and a sink to wash up. A variety of types and places to sit: couples or groups. Friendly staff. Bad: music way too loud for conversation - maybe have a quiet zone? Wooden Benches and swings need back pillows or back support - way too deep to sit comfortably. Not enough trash cans. Whole pizzas are too big at 18" (but look great so maybe a smaller version too?) Prices!
google avatar

Ria R.

Yelp
Friday vibes! Soaked up some sun, enjoyed the ocean and ate some pizza at Sahara Sandbar!! Freshly made to order! Great location, plenty of seating area and tables. Located off the Magnolia gate.
google avatar

Miko M.

Yelp
I was hanging out at the beach with my family and we decided to grab dinner here. I was hesitant because of the bad reviews, however I was pleasantly surprised by the food and atmosphere! We ordered pizza by the slice. It was expensive, don't get me wrong. But I'm happy to pay extra for good pizza with those views! Come on people! You are 'on' the beach! It was $7 per slice, but one slice is huge! It's the size of two large slices fyi. The crust is thin and crispy, personally it was perfect for us. I also got the antipasto salad which was crispy and fresh. No complaints at all. My favorite part of this place was the right side of you're facing the water. There's a seating area with cute hanging benches and an overhang to chill. It was quieter here too. And there's a wrap around area filled with sand and sand toys that my kids happily played with after they ate. I can't wait to bring friends here and have a drink while our kids are entertaining themselves!
google avatar

Nicola L.

Yelp
Came here today for some food during the HB air show. Ordered something simple.. cheese pizza. It was actually delicious! We orders a large which was a little pricing $30 but it was worth it! Bouncer out front was super sweet too! Dj was fun! Bartenders were on point with smiles and drink recommendations.
google avatar

Naomi C.

Yelp
If I could give this place less than one star I would. Food and drinks are insanely overpriced and you have to pay $20 just to park. My friend found an eyelash in his food.. my Guinea pigs eat better.
google avatar

Jen W.

Yelp
It's pizza on the beach. So you kinda would know what to expect. Overprice and not that great either. But if you're hungry this will get you by. Lots of seating & view of the ocean. No soap or paper towels on both ends of the BR. Service was alright, no complaints.
google avatar

Venessa V.

Yelp
Pré mixed margaritas Pizza greasy nothing to write home about But perfect if your riding bike on the way home or just hanging at the beach good for kids staff friendly

Sonia P.

Yelp
Disappointed. My boyfriend and I have been eyeing this place since they began work on it. We found out that it was finally open so we drove down to check it out. The employees were friendly and helpful. They have their own bathrooms which is nice and they have a good amount of seating. BUT they are ridiculously OVERPRICED! We don't mind spending money on food if it's good but this was definitely not worth it. My boyfriend and I ordered ONE slice each, shared one order of mozzarella sticks, and got one can of soda each. Our total was $45 dollars. If the pizza would have been good I wouldn't mind but it was terrible. The pizza was so thin I could literally see through it. My boyfriend and I had to laugh because we could not believe how much they charged for less than mediocre food. There are plenty of other spots in the area with a cool ambiance and better food. We won't be back.
google avatar

Mark L.

Yelp
$21 for a beer and slice of pizza FFS. And it took 20 minutes on a slow day. I would not recommend nor coke back here except to use the restrooms which were kinda clean.
google avatar

Derek H.

Yelp
Had a great time at Sahara, employees were very nice and friendly, didn't rush us out at the end of the night even though they were closed. Party of 10, had the Margarita pizza, Death by pepperoni and the Humble Pie, they tasted great, good crust. Also had some buffalo wings and the antipasto salad. Drinks were flowing, big screen TVs with sports on, great beach views, good seating areas, on sand or off. Great spot to drink and relax, will definitely be going back. Only downside was having to pay $15 for state beach parking, so make it a longer stay.
google avatar

Benny B.

Yelp
Today is my first time trying out this place. I ordered a slice of Death by Pepperoni and a slice of The DogFather. And I got to say. There is no way I can deny how satisfied I was for trying out the pizza here. I am Happy. Both of these pizzas are GOOD, if not that it is totally worth trying out. And as the day in Hawaii. "It Broke Da Mouth" cuz it was that good and tasty. The Pizzas here are similar to a New York style crust. The meats are on point and the cheese is stretchy cheesy in a good way. I'M DEFINITELY RECOMMENDING THIS PLACE AND I'M COMING BACK.
google avatar

Shawnee M.

Yelp
I can't recommend this place because I can't communicate with them. They have no phone. All the ways to message and email them bounce back as undeliverable. I heard their pizza I'd pretty good but I won't pay to park at the state beach to just pick up a pie. Unfortunately I can't figure out a way to talk to someone. What a poor operation Pizza by the Slice
google avatar

Yelp
This pizza is BOMB they just opened up again and it's not perfect but the food was so good and the girls sat were so nice !!!! and they have a full bar now in case anyone was wondering the girl made me some bomb ass drinks shout out to her we will definitely be back !! i hope they get bands the dj was good thought so fun

Yelp
We ride down to the beach and love to stop for a drink and Pizza . Amazing thin crust , very good Pizza Wings are strange and not our thing , but they took them back and exchanged for pizza no problem . Also the Stix and antipasto salad is very tasty . We've ate here at least 20x and were very happy

Yelp
So I've been watching this being built all year during my walks at the beach excited with anticipation for the opening! Finally my girlfriend and I go on a" Sunday Fun day". We go to order our drinks ( no one on line behind us) and asked Ryan if there we're a lot of sugar in their Bar x seltzers, he answered rudely " ya probably their fruit juice in them" well what about your teas then I said. His answer was just as rude without taking time to even look at the can and tell me!!!! Some people can't have much sugar due to many different issues.... it's a shame someone can be so irritated when it's part of his job, I'm paying 10.00 for a freakin seltzer please give me a minute of your time and leave your punk ass attitude at home! Hopefully California fork and spoon will hire friendlier staff it does bring back business!
google avatar

Tom M.

Yelp
The vibe n tunes seem to be cooler than the beach blvd location, but $12 beers and $30 pizzas? Pizza was pretty good if you like tortilla thin style pizza with barely any toppings. They WILL NOT customize your pizza, like asking for half pepperoni and half sausage. You know like every single pizza place in the world does if you ask? Nope! Oh you want a $30 cheese pizza with sliced jalapeños on it it? Nope sorry we cannot do that, but we'll give you sliced raw jalapeños on the side. Wtf? LOL. The manager seemed sweet, NOT! Ha ha what ever happened to the customer is always right? Accidentally dropped your $12 wine in a can 10 feet from the bartender, not their problem. Buy another one!

Susanna B.

Yelp
Here at 10 when they "open"...only allowed to order drinks...very limited selection. At 1030 only "selling slices today" After person in my party got full pizza. Very unprepared for large soccer tournament.
google avatar

desirae m.

Yelp
Came to Huntington Beach super hungry with the boys. Didn't feel like driving out. While walking I stumbled across this place. I ordered a whole cheese pizza --- OMG didn't expect it to be super huge and also their wings! Wings-- not bad has a shrimp flavor to it not sure if it was just me. Overall, if I came again looking for food I'll come back. Super friendly staff!
google avatar

Paulina E.

Yelp
My boyfriend said 5 stars but that was after a few drinks the pizza was pretty good. Good alcohol selection, location though location is really where it's at. It's a vibe the bathrooms could be cleaner but overall would recommend.
google avatar

Marcus A.

Yelp
The service and food is lack luster! Great location and hope they are able to correct these issues. Will not come back!

Ashley M.

Yelp
lets be honest if you ever order by the slice anywhere its not great..so these bad reviews are pathetic. My husband ordered a small personal pizza for himself and my daughter and it was good! if you know pizzas like i do... we own pizza express in anaheim, then you know pizza is always better freshly made to order. its got a great view people..come for the view and get a fresh whole pizza

Bianca M.

Yelp
By far, it was the worst food I've had. I feel like we were robbed. We ordered a large pizza and a Caesar salad with chicken. The pizza was super thin and extra greasy. We ate maybe 2 slices. The salad was a pre-packaged salad with reheated strips of chicken that were about 1/4" thick. So, as you can imagine, they were tough and dry. And on top of it, we had to pay $20 to park just to eat at this place.

Joe A.

Yelp
Nice view but if your coming for the food don't. Takes forever and not very good, pizza is mediocre at best.

Priscilla M.

Yelp
Their pizza is so yummy! I also like their garlic knots. Nice view of the boardwalk while enjoying a Sunday fun day. Will definitely keep returning.

Jerrid B.

Yelp
2 slices of pizza an order of bread sticks and a single margarita was $45 and they don't take cash so didn't get to try it thank god after reading the reviews avoid this place at all costs go to Zack's too a half mile north of this fire fair prices and friendlier staff
