Delicious authentic Vietnamese food. One of the best in San Diego. They have a great outdoor area as well. We been here once a while ago but the owner still recognizes us. She is very sweet and welcoming.

The menu keeps changing as they are still figuring out what works and what doesn’t work. We came at peak lunch time on a Saturday and our food came out quick. We ordered: -Chicken wing garlic fish sauce: This was crispy and seasoning was right on. We liked how it was fried and wanted to try other flavors but got too full. -Broken rice grilled pork: Loved that they offer legit broken rice, the bbq pork was nicely char and moist. The egg loaf was a bit dry. -Bánh canh tôm cua: least favorite out of all. The broth has a thick consistency similar to egg drop soup with starchy tapioca noodles. Broth wasn’t as flavorful as other places and lacking more shrimp flavors. -Crispy fried egg noodle w beef: Can’t go wrong with this dish. Crispy noodles with veggies on top. -Periwinkle snails in coconut milk: wow, the portion was generous. I prefer the curry broth to be more curry-like, it was more of a watered down coconut curry. -mussels with green onion sauce: This was prepared nicely. You must dip in their sauce to get the whole experience. For drinks, I got the coconut coffee I tasted the coffee and coconut flavors, wasn’t too sweet. My friend got the coconut kumquat. She likes that it was refreshing and they used whole kumquats with the skin. She also tasted a bit of lemon and preferred it to be more sour and not so sweet. Overall, this place gives you a glimpse of Vietnamese street food. I like the seafood items. Reminds me of night market. If we come back, I’ll get the escargot just because those are bigger than the snails and less effort to eat. You can enter from the parking lot or through the supermarket.

Wanted to try this place out based on some recommendations. The sizzling Platter with the steak and pate was amazing. I'm sad they didnt have Razor Clams this time, but we got the escargot and the scallops. Would come again.

Saigon Corner is an absolute gem for Vietnamese cuisine, and their Bò Né is a standout dish. This dish is absolutely incredible—served sizzling hot on a cast iron plate with sardines, eggs, pâté, and that buttery, savory sauce that ties everything together perfectly. Pair it with the warm, crusty baguette they serve on the side, and you’ve got a meal that hits all the right notes. The flavors are rich and comforting, with just the right amount of spice and balance. You can tell it’s made with care and attention to detail. It’s the kind of dish that keeps you coming back for more. The staff at Saigon Corner are incredibly friendly and welcoming. They always greet you with a smile and provide attentive, caring service throughout your meal. It’s clear they go out of their way to make you feel like family, creating a warm, inviting atmosphere every time you visit. If you’re craving real Vietnamese food or just want to try something new, Saigon Corner is a must visit. Highly recommended!

Google
Friendly service, excellent authentic Vietnamese street food with 99% taste accuracy. Their mi cay reminds me about familiar Vietnamese ingredients used in every street food vendor in Vietnam. Must try da me, earl grey, corn milk. They all win my heart!!! Worth to try 👍👍

Google
I had the 7-level spicy noodles and really liked it! It’s a favorite dish among young Vietnamese people, so I was happy to see it at this place. My friend ordered the dry “hu tieu go” Saigon-style and enjoyed it too. We also got a coconut kumquat drink and a milk tea. Everything tasted good and felt familiar.

Had a few interesting dishes, had the charred scallops which had good flavors, but wasn't charred like the street food version. Staff were nice and food came out quick.

I had an amazing dining experience at this authentic Vietnamese restaurant- Saigon Corner in San Diego, California last night. We went in a group so that it's a good chance to try a variety of food. My friend tried the Vietnamese pork noodle soup- Mì Gõ khô and it was perfectly cooked noodles with flavourful broth. I also tried the rice with fried chicken, and it was equally impressive. We also ordered wonton soup, and ox tail beef noodle which is really fragrant and tasty. We had milk tea, Đá Me (Tamarind and peanut), and orange fruit tea. All of them are comforting. If you're looking for a place that serves authentic Vietnamese food, this spot is definitely worth a visit. I’ll definitely be coming back for more! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Highly recommended!

Yelp
Came here with a big group to celebrate a birthday, eat some good food, and sang some karaoke. This is a new restaurant in Mira Mesa that offers delicious Vietnamese staples and street food that I haven't seen anywhere else in SanDiego. Items we tried: Chicken Knee Cartilage, Mussels w/Green Onion Oil, Escargots w/Garlic Sauce, Thai Yom Yum Hot Pot, Buttered Corn, Periwinkle Snails Definitively my new favorite place

Yelp
Minus one star primarily bc everything took so long, but really all the food was really good! It reminded me of an eatery in OC that I love to go to. They have a ton of different food options which is probably why their service is so slow. The sea snails were amazing, their squid?mango salad was so good, their clams, the rice roll! Seriously everything we had was so good for San Diego standards (not sure if it's good as the food in OC or back in the homeland of VN) Would def come back, but hoping they get their timing and service together. This is attached to a supermarket, so it's really a no frills restaurants. Very casual with a lot of open tables.

Yelp
Bad Vietnamese dishes! Ordered their snails (which were smelly despite having the kitchen recooked it) and rotisserie chicken (which were crazy salty). I came during lunch time and the inside was dark... I thought I was dining in Alcatraz prison. The 2 teen-aged waitresses were disappointing, as the elder kitchen staffs had to bring out our orders rather than them... while all they did were taking our orders and gossiping in the corner. They did not even bother checking on us about the food, but the older staffs did (which we were grateful for). I had to tip the kitchen staffs separately for this. That's it! Not worth a second visit from us.

Yelp
Had cravings for banh cuon and my usual spot was closed, so decided to give this place another try. For a Wednesday afternoon, it was super empty, but I had called my order in so it was ready when I arrived. I decided to add a coconut coffee, which took a while to make. Worth the wait but definitely something to consider if I'm in a rush. It had great flavor, perfectly sweet and had toasted coconut on the top with jelly at the bottom, and definitely had lot of caffeine! The banh cuon I got was the traditional one with the pork loaf. It was good, but I feel like the ratio of meat to carb was off.. I would've liked either a little less rice sheet or more meat. The fish sauce it came with was good and it was a good portion. They have a pretty extensive menu that I would like to come back to try one day though! Give this place a try if you're in the area!

Yelp
We had some questions about the menu (the pho we saw pics of on yelp was not on the menu) but the server did not speak much English. There was a bit of a wait for our food as there was a large (10+) party that was being served at the same time. However the food came out hot and was quite tasty. Favorite of the bunch was definitely the very unique shrimp and crab udon, would definitely come back in for that. Typical casual dine in vibes inside.

Yelp
Saigon Corner is the replacement for another Vietnamese eatery that had occupied a corner annex to the Vinh Hung Supermarket in the Village at Mira Mesa. The space was connected to the market through a corridor filled with other vendors. About 50 customers could be seated in the dining area which also had a small karaoke/stage setup next to the main entrance leading outside. Several menu screens were mounted behind the service counter, but I found it easier to read from the takeout menu. The listings were in numeric order, but they didn't seem to follow any logical progression. There was a mix of appetizers, soups, small plates, and entrees on the internal pages. The beverages and desserts were located on the external pages. I selected the Fish Balls with Garlic as a starter and the Garlic Butter Noodles with Crawfish as a main dish. There were three skewers each speared with three fish balls that were sprinkled with garlic seasoning. The exterior was chewy while the inside was not as firm as I expected for the ground up fish. The noodles were served with chopped onions and several pieces of crawfish. A side salad was also added to the dish. The noodles were buttery yet I didn't find the garlic flavor to be strong. The portion size was mediocre for the $17.95 price.

Yelp
I normally get a bone-in pho but decided to change it up and Ordered a B10 on the menu with grilled beef and egg rolls. Decided to get creative and ordered a small side of broth. It was good and hit the spot! Went during lunch time by myself and sat at the bar. Service was swift and attentive. There were people seated as it is during lunch time. Plenty of parking as well.

Yelp
I've been seeing a lot of good review about this place so we decided to try it. The place is clean and the staff are friendly. The waiting time for the food to arrive is very long. We order udon crab noodle, soup, mussel and French fries. The udon crab noodle come out 15 minutes after we order. The next one is mussel and it took another 15 minutes. We have to ask the staff to do the French fries first since my kid getting inpatient. The fries took 45 minutes to come out and the soup took almost an hour to come out. We end up taking the soup togo since it is too late. Food is okay, the soup is a little salty and they didn't have the ketchup to eat with French fries. We ended up buying in the market next to it. I would not come back since the it takes so long for the food to arrive and if you go as a group, one people finished eating and the other one still not have the food yet.

Yelp
If you want Vietnamese food, this place isnt it! Well, actually if you want a decent or an edible meal this isnt the place for you! However, if you are harving and this happened to be the place where you consume your first meal for the day, maybe this is ok, after all how can you go wrong with Rice, right? Well... I was wrong, I opt'd for the broken rice with the sardine/egg, rice was too hard! The sardine was still cold even on the sizzling iron plate. It was like straight from the can to the table. The chicken rice was OMG, how THE HECK can a restaurant serve this OVER fried superdry no taste stale chicken... Should have followed my instinct walk out when there's no customers during dinner time on a Saturday. Why the 2 stars? 1* for the atmosphere, 1* for accepting credit card w/o extra fee.

Yelp
The food was amazing! Service was fast, and the atmosphere was calm and inviting with soothing music playing in the background. It's such a cute spot with friendly workers--I felt very welcomed. We ordered the Bò Né and the Bún Riêu--both were absolutely delicious. The dishes came out piping hot and stayed hot until the very last bite, which I really appreciated. Everything tasted incredibly fresh, especially the veggies that came with the Bún Riêu. Lastly we ordered Boba and Cafe Sua Da and it was very refreshing (boba) and strong tasting (cafe). We will definitely be back. Highly recommend this place!

Yelp
Came for a late lunch -- definitely better than last time since it wasn't as crowded. The place has a modern, dark-toned vibe that's geared more toward a younger crowd. The atmosphere was relaxed and comfortable, and we were greeted right away. We ordered the Saigon Noodle Soup (light, clear broth with shrimp and pork -- a bit too plain for our taste), the Vietnamese Udon Soup (thicker broth with crab and mushrooms -- decent but not memorable), and the Filet Mignon Steak Platter (the best of the three). The beef was flavorful, and the crunchy bread with egg yolk dip was a nice touch. One thing we really liked is that their menu has a good variety -- from noodle soups to rice dishes and appetizers -- so there's something for everyone. Overall, the food was okay -- not amazing, but not bad either. For the price and choices of the dishes, it's a decent spot for a casual date or family meal, but probably not a place we'd rush back to.

Yelp
Ordered some take out from here and was a bit disappointed over the weekend. For the price and the amount of food that you get, it's not worth it. $18+ for tiny little portions. We ordered banh canh(this was decent), snails with garlic(maybe 5 snails) - disappointed, chicken hearts - super disappointed too. We also tried to order the cartilage and also the gizzard but they didn't have any. How does a place have such a limited menu or run out of items on a weekend?! Not sure if I'll want to return with these tiny expensive dishes.

Yelp
I consider this a hidden gem! Everything was yummy from appetizers to drinks! Service was great. Ambiance is simple, yet peaceful. Highly recommend! "Life is short. Let's Eat!" ~ Love their motto. Lol

Yelp
Food and service was amazing. Would definitely come back for their snails and mussels. The rolled pho was great too.

Yelp
I live in Mira Mesa and was very excited to try this new gem. It was so good that I took my sister with me the next day! My favorite is the Hu Thieu with the soup on the side with Me Da (Tamarind Drink). I will definitely try almost all of the dishes on their menu! The older man is so cute and the young lady is very sweet as well. They're very friendly and generous. Please give this restaurant a visit, you won't regret it.

Yelp
The food wasn't that great on the fried noodle dish the onions were undercooked. The soup was ok. There was nothing special about it. The bread on the Bahn Mi was old.
google avatar

Annie N.

Yelp
I like the spicy noodle soup #5 and the #6 ice tamarind drink. Its a good level of spiciness for me with a little bit of sourness like kimchi and richness from the pork bone broth. Its filled to the brim with toppings and the noodles were a great texture. The garlic fried beef noodles were very garlicky and topped with some well seared cubes of beef. The side salad had a nice sesame dressing and some very ripe mini tomatoes. Cant ever go wrong with a passion fruit green tea to round out the savoriness of the dish. The staff were very friendly and helpful. The ambiance of the restaurant is so much better than the previous owner. The renovated space is very nice and has a fresh feel

Yelp
The food was excellent, and it was great to see that everyone enjoyed it. The street food stood out as the highlight of the meal, and the drinks complemented the experience nicely. Overall, it was a delightful experience!

Yelp
New place in Mire Mesa. Service was great, plenty of parking, food was not bad. Some were good some can be improved but that is just our preference. Everyone will have different taste flavors. Spicy noodle for me is not spicy at all for the highest level they have. Overall not too bad.

Yelp
Delicious food! I had the hủ tiếu, mì cay, and sườn gà--all super flavorful and fresh. Great service and fast too. I'll be back!

Coco P.

Yelp
First time here. We tried bún riêu, bún thịt nướng, chicken wings and tamarind escargot. Everything was great so we got cơm tám bì thịt nướng/xừơng nướng and mì hoành thánh togo. Gonna try new stuff next tim.

Yelp
I came and ordered something to go this morning, they ran out of rice so the fried rice with crawfish was replace with garlic noodles and crawfish which was better than the fried rice, a bit spicy but really good. I also ordered the broken rice with pork chop and meatloaf and the bbq beef on the stick with sweet potato fries a crispy fried shrimp and steam rice roll. I also ordered the tamarind drink and black milk tea. A little slow on the service but the drink came out quickly, the lady asked me if she can replace the rice because they ran out of rice. I think that slows down the food more because they have to replace the fried rice. I just wish they have the tv playing even if they have Vietnamese movies or news going, I don't mind watching anything that will keep me busy while waiting or even music to keep me entertained.

Yelp
Always check your food before eating Most of the food I've tried here is pretty decent. However, since the restaurant is still new, their system and service aren't very efficient yet. If you have a lot of time and don't mind if service is good or not, and you're mainly here for the taste, this place might be worth trying. Otherwise, be prepared for long wait times, either to receive your food or to be informed that your order is out of stock. Both times I visited, I waited over 30 minutes just to find out the item I ordered wasn't available. Personally, I didn't mind the wait, but it could be frustrating for others. In my last visit, I ordered their balut and was served a spoiled one. Unfortunately, I ate half of it and started noticing the strange taste, then checked the other half and discovered green-black moldy discoloration and signs of spoilage. Now I'm just bracing myself for the incoming food poisoning and hoping for the best. My recommendation: always check your food, stick with their noodle dishes for a quicker and safer experience, and avoid the balut for now as it can spoil easily and very harmful to eat.

Yelp
My first time to try this place and 2 that I ordered is on the spot very delicious and fillet mignon is so tender. Will comeback here.

Yelp
The only place that offering a lot of Saigon street food in San Diego. If you are looking for authentic Vietnamese taste, you must give this place a try.

Yelp
I ordered banh canh, hu tieu kho, and chicken wings to-go and it was so yummy! The banh canh was thick just the way I like it and how i used to have it growing up! I will definitely be back and dine in next time!

Amber H.

Yelp
More like three stars but I really want Vietnamese restaurants to do well in San Diego so the extra star is for encouragement. We got dry Hu Tieu, it was decent. The sauce n broth was okie, not memorable. Sate stirred fried squid was on the sweet side and not spicy. We also got snails and they were also mediocre. Service was really friendly and welcoming. The only reason this place got four stars. Decoration looked like it was half done or still in progress. I wish it was more well put together.

Yelp
I would give 0 stars if possible. Our experience did not meet the bare minimum expectation. We waited approximately 50 mins just for food that still had not come out. One dish came out before anyone else's with hair. When it was pointed out, the server pulled the piece of hair out of the dish and left the table. We were utterly shook. After 50 minutes of waiting for food upon being seated, we decided to leave and go to Ngon Ngon To-Go, which was a world of a difference in experience. Should've just gone there in the first place since we've always had a wonderful and over the top experience with not only their food, but service. Ngon Ngon sat us right away, we ordered food and the food came out within 10 minutes. Don't waste your time at Saigon Corner, go to Ngon Ngon...you will not be at all disappointed in doing so.

Yelp
Reallly delicious! Loved the Saigon style noodles and bo ne, will definitely be coming back

Emily N.

Yelp

Helen P.

Yelp
Delicious and authentic Vietnamese food, generous portions. We ordered Shrimp and crab udon soup, Egg noodle soup. Dumpling egg noodle soup and also very good Iced milk coffee with herbal jelly and basil seeds. They have fresh brew teas, will try milk tea later. Nice, clean and casual restaurant and good service.

Phung N.

Yelp
Went there yesterday but the store is closed. Don't know if the hours on google is updated or not. Google said you're open and close on Tuesday. Went there on Thursday and you were closed. Wasted my time for driving.

Qiqi L.

Yelp
I had the Saigon Style Noodle Soup, loved it! I'll definitely come back to try more items on the menu.

Yelp
I stopped by today and tried the Hu Tieu Kho and Mi Cay - both dishes were delicious! The flavors were rich and well-balanced, and the portion sizes were generous. Highly recommended!!

Yelp
The food was amazing--fresh, tasty, and well-cooked. The atmosphere was perfect--warm, cozy, and nice to be in. The staff was friendly and helpful. Everything was just right. 10/10, highly recommend!

Yelp
The entrance faces the back of the building shared with Vinh Hung Supermarket, which is also sort of hidden unless you are specifically looking for it and have it mapped on a gps. Hu Tieu Saigon served in broth was excellent. Broth was flavorful and doesn't just taste like salt & sugar water. Rice noodles were cooked perfectly, not mushy or clumped together. At first I thought the fried fish dumplings were fried fish balls, but it's actually cha ca. I have never seen it that shape and size before so I'm guessing those were made in house. Shrimp was plump. Pork slices and ground pork were lean but not overcooked. There were little crumbles of chiccharon that brought the flavor up another level. I didn't care for the quail eggs but that's minor. I loved that they brought over the chili condiments without me having to ask. Even though the broth was already perfect without, I loved the lightly pickled garlic slices, jalapeños, and light colored chili paste. The sweetness from my coconut kumquat drink balanced out all the heat that I added to my bowl. It has little cubes of coconut jelly and tastes like sweetened coconut water with kumquats -- not a coconut milk drink. Can't wait to try the rest of their menu.
