The 12 Best Pho Restaurants In Los Angeles

"Saigon Dish is part of a small cluster of very good Vietnamese restaurants in and around the South Bay city of Lawndale, including strip mall spots like Pho Hue Oi and Thai Lai. But when it comes to pho, Saigon Dish is in a league of its own. Our usual order here is the freshly fried cha gio (which takes at least 15 minutes to cook) and the rich, deeply beefy pho with tender slices of filet mignon—of which even the “small” size is plenty big. This is a popular neighborhood spot so don’t be surprised that everyone in the dining room seems to be a regular. " - nikko duren, brant cox, garrett snyder, sylvio martins

It’s been awhile since I been here. I went a lot before 2020. My normal pho combination large is my go to. The pho broth is always on point. The meat quantity went down. They use to give a lot but now just a minimum requirement. The spring rolls were good as an appetizer. Vietnamese ice coffee was on point . Still a great spot. Would recommend to try it out.

Arrived at 10:30am and a lot of parking and many tables were open. We were greeted and seated immediately and everyone was welcoming. We ordered chicken pho, filet mignon pho and i cant remember the exact name of the other plate but it was spicy beef, shrimp and pork with noodles. Everything was delicious! The spicy plate was not that spicy. It was more like a sweet and spicy but it was delicious. I definitely recommend this place.

I had the pleasure to dine here quite often until 7-8 years ago. I vividly remember how the owner John took such great care of not only the customers but also the staff, greeted us every time and remembered our favorite orders! Today is the first time I came back in the past 8 years. I’m so happy to see the restaurant is still packed, business is thriving and customers are happy. Kudos to John and his staff that managed everything so well beyond Covid and the inflation. To my great surprise, he still remembered me! I would definitely come back more often. I ordered their famous vermicelli noodle salad to go. # 26 spring rolls with grilled pork is my favorite, topped with fresh lettuce, bean sprouts, crushed peanuts and mint. The sweet and sour (yet light) sauce is as amazing as I can recall. The price is very reasonable (less than $15) for a huge portion. I HIGHLY recommend John’s business to everyone.

Google
Good place for Pho. Reasonable price. The beef pho uses filet mignon. It is very good. The Pho soup is not super hot so it was somewhat cold after added vegetables. Very long line so prepare to wait.

Google
I went to this restaurant twice. The first time it was good so I wanted to try again the dry noodles. However the egg roll, beef, and shrimp are cold it seems like old pre cooked. I understand the noodle is cold but the side dish was very cold not warm. I wouldn’t try it again.

Google
You should definitely add your name to the waiting list arrive at least 15 minutes before coming. This is the best Vietnamese food I’ve ever had! The pho, vermicelli pho, and banh xeo are absolutely amazing. The prices are reasonable, the flavors are incredible, and the food comes out super fast. Plus, the staff is incredibly efficient at clearing and resetting tables, so customers don’t have to wait too long. This is hands down my favorite Vietnamese restaurant! Let me know if you’d like any adjustments!

Google
I love this place. Wouldn’t recommend any other place to get a fresh bowl of pho. It gets busy but it’s always worth the wait. Their egg rolls are chef’s kiss👩🏽‍🍳💗 Vietnamese iced coffee is fire too. Just don’t drink it at night unless you want to run a midnight marathon LOL

Google
The place crowded and the tables close together. They don't mess around, being told which table to sit at by number and being followed close behind with water, menus there too, boom. Everyone looks happy and the food is moving fast to the tables. No time for wasting, we ordered and food was there in under 10 minutes. Delicious, hot and tasty. We will go again

Yelp
Food - omg the food here is soooo good and the portions are huge!!! Price is very fair and reasonable. Service - there are a ton of waiters so it's not an issue flagging someone down BUT there's usually so much going around so they can't be as attentive to each customer. Still very good service though. Ambiance - very spacious, tables are not sticky, lots of light, and Vietnam heritage decorations all over the walls.

Yelp
this is my first ever review and i'm currently in the middle of eating my pho, but i need to give this place 5 stars ASAP! best pho broth i've ever tasted in my life, i will absolutely be coming back AND recommending this place to everyone i see in redondo! btw super quick service and wait time for table
google avatar

Yelp
Fast. Decent prices. Good food. Usually packed, but I've never had to wait. Staff is prompt, but not super friendly .

Yelp
Came here based on reviews and proximity to where I was. Had the regular sized popular filet mignon pho. It was a decent amount of noodles, broth and meat. I thought the broth and noodles was ok compared to others I had at Orange County. The meat was a little tough. The highlight and one that I've never had before was a big bowl of tendon, which was great. Service was a little overwhelming as the waiter stood right by our table waiting to order. Most servers don't understand or can speak English so had to point to a menu or they requested for help. Not a bad spot, but I don't think I'll return.

Yelp
I've been going to Saigon Dish in Lawndale for a while, and it has been my go-to spot for Vietnamese cuisine since the first time I've been. The pho here features the most flavorful broth I've ever tasted, rich, clean, and aromatic. The depth of the broth and the high quality of meat is what keeps me coming back. I always get the large #11 and leave feeling stuffed and satisfied. Their egg rolls (Chả giò) are also amazing. They're crispy, well-seasoned, and perfectly paired with their dipping sauce. The combination of excellent food and generous portions makes the prices unbeatable, offering great value for the quality. A standout aspect of Saigon Dish is the exceptional service. There is plenty of staff and they are all attentive and efficient, ensuring that every need is met promptly. Additionally, the man always working in the front who I presume to be the owner John, is super hospitable. Every time I've gone, he is always hustling super hard to make sure every guest is satisfied and taken care of, which I respect, and it makes me happy to support the business. It has a busy and lively atmosphere, so you can expect a wait during peak hours. For anyone looking for top-notch Vietnamese food and fantastic service, Saigon Dish is a must-visit. I personally think it surpasses the pho places that are deemed the best in Little Saigon. They are closed on Sundays sadly.

Yelp
BEST PHO IN CALIFORNIA. Cant believe I haven't reviewed this place as this is probably my 5th time eating here this year. I usually get their 13A (the filet mignon pho) and it is so good every time. The broth is so rich with flavor and perfectly balanced and not too salty, which makes an excellent base for adding other toppings if you wanted. Perfectly delicious! All the workers are friendly and efficient. This business is a well run machine who takes good care of their customers. The ambience here is super casual, but make no mistake because you will have the most satisfying meal here. Be prepared to wait if you come during peak hours! Well worth the wait!

Yelp
Saigon Dish was a surprise hit for my vegan friendly pho cravings! My friend and I were wanting somewhere to enjoy some soup noods and pho just sounded damn good. The place was packed on a Saturday evening, but we placed our name on the Yelp waitlist and were seated fairly quickly. Menu wise - they have all the regular staples you'd find at most pho restaurants. I was looking for some veg friendly options and they offer a vegetarian pho dish along with spring rolls that were easily veganized by adding tofu. My veg pho was packed with goodness. A hearty veg broth with thick pieces of tofu along with plenty of veggies, topped with fried onions. The bowl came piping hot and gets a big thumbs up from me. Service here was really attentive too. They came around to fill our waters and made sure that I had all my veg questions answered. Thanks Saigon Dish! Y'all really rocked it out for the veg folks like myself.

Yelp
Great dish from their noodles to their plates. Service is great too. Parking no problem

Yelp
Very affordable, authentic spot for pho in the LA South Bay! Getting a solid bowl of pho for under $12 seems so rare nowadays, but Saigon Dish is the spot to go for pho if you're in the area! They also have other noodle and rice dishes on their menu. They offer various bowl sizes from small to extra large. They have several tables available and the workers are pretty quick and efficient. I got their #9 regular pho bowl for $11 and the soup was very hearty and comforting on the rainy day that I went. I would come back if I'm ever craving pho around here, I'd definitely recommend!
google avatar

Yelp
It's so busy but only because the food is so good! I tried the brisket with a delicious savory flavor. Their pho (can't remember which I ordered the first time) is delicious as well! I plan on going again soon and I'll give a better review.

Yelp
Where has this been all my life! I've always said there wasn't really any good Vietnamese places near me in Southbay LA, so I was so shocked to see Saigon Dish have 4.5 Stars with over 2,000 reviews! We checked via Yelp as well which was definitely useful for a cold night in December, and waited around 35-45 minutes for a table. It was completely packed when we walked in but the service was super fast. We ordered their #17B Mi Kho which was a dry egg noodle, and their #34B which was their vermicelli cake sampler platter which included egg rolls, grilled beef, pork meatballs, and sugar cane shrimp, perfect for sharing! Both dishes were flavorful and if you've only ever had pho before, then I would definitely recommend expanding your palette and try these dishes! They also have a bunch of other specialities so I'll definitely be back to try some more!

Yelp
This Pho restaurant was super busy during lunchtime. We were here during a rainy day. You could feel that all customers were just happy to be here. Everything is what I would expect from a Pho restaurant. I wouldn't say they were the best, but if you were in the area and wanted to have a bowl of Pho, you would not be disappointed.

Yelp
Did a pick-up order at this place and super glad i did. It seemed like a very popular place. Ordered the pho bac biet which has lean steak, brisket, tendon, tripe, and meatballs. I put the soup and the all the contents in a large bowl I had at home so that i could eat it more easily. The takeout also comes with the typical stuff like the bean sprouts, lime, mint, etc so this place is a great takeout place. The restaurant serves a special dish on Fridays and Saturdays. It's a Vietnamese crepe that has shrimp, pork, bean sprouts, and scallions. They also give you a bag with herbs and lettuce along with a tangy fish sauce. It was delicious! My only complaint is that the crepe breaks easily so you really need the lettuce to hold the contents all together.
google avatar

Jenny T.

Yelp
Terrible food! I ordered the Pho with steak and brisket, my husband ordered the chow mein, and we got a rice dish for my daughter. The pho had little to no flavor. And they put my second meat IN the broth, so it was insanely overcooked when it got to me. And there were onions in the bowl! The whole point of Pho is that everything is separate! My husbands chowmein tasted like fish!! Never ordering from here again! Save ur $$

Yelp
Came here on a rainy weekday and of course, there was a line. You can conveniently join the waitlist through Yelp before getting there to cut down your wait time. I was quoted 20-35 mins, but actually spent about 10 mins waiting in total (party of 1). The pho is some of the best I've had in LA. Broth was flavorful and the portion sizes were generous (considering the prices). Would've liked a bit more meat as the meat to noodle ratio was a pretty large gap, but nothing to complain about. Would definitely come back! Service was fast and servers were nice. 5% discount if paying with cash. Very limited plaza parking as one of the restaurants there took half the lot, while other slots were 20 min parking only.

Yelp
Food Broth was 10/10 really good. When I eat pho, the first thing I do is taste the broth as is and determine how good the whole meal will be from there, and upon my first spoonful I knew this pho would be really good. The broth was very flavorful, that just warms up your the inside of your mouth and explodes with flavor. My order came with brisket, meatball, steak, tendon, and tripe, and each one was really good. I made a side dipping sauce of hoisin and sriracha, and it just enhanced the flavor of the meat as I eat it with the flavorful broth. At first glance, it looks like Pho you'd get from any pho place, but that first spoonful tells you, it's different and will definitely stand out. Service/Ambiance The actual place is located in an unassuming strip mall, so you wouldn't think much of it walking in, but the moment you get inside, it's just packed with a lot of people, so I could tell right away that people come to this place for a reason. The staff were nice and we got our food pretty quickly. We had a group of 8 and there was some miscommunication where one of the staff gave our table to a different group, but it was resolved quickly and was seated within a few minutes, which I appreciate. Overall, this place would definitely be one of my top Pho places, especially with how unassuming the vibe of the place is.

Yelp
On a road trip and stopped in randomly Great service and food I will now make a trip just to visit the crew

Deb G.

Yelp
Everything was great. Flavors were a notch above most Vietnamese restaurants. The fresh garden rolls had a nice thin skin that did t get gummy with fresh greens and shrimp. The pho was tasty. Perfect blend of flavors. They close on the early side so note check the hours if going for a later dinner.

Yelp
Food: 4.5/5 Service: 4/5 Ambiance: 4/5 We usually get #7 Pho with everything, egg roll with lettuce & herbs, salad, fried tofu, crepes on weekends, etc. The foods are very good except if they can cater to low sodium and low sugar due to health concerns. It seems the salad dressing, the clear dipping sauce with carrots, the pho soup is too sweet to spike sugar for diabetics. Love their veggies. Wish this establishment can tone down the sodium and sugar with a choice of more healthier version on the side for those with health concerns. We may end up not eating there anymore since the soup and sauces are already made!

Yelp
We've been coming here since about 2017... I'm not eating pho if it's not Saigon dish. Service is always great and all are attentive. Broth is delicious and not fatty like other trendy short rib pho places. I know I'm going to get a great bowl and be satisfied here. My fave is the 13a with the spring rolls. Please support this local business.

Yelp
Decent Viet spot tucked away in a plaza by the freeway is Saigon Dish where you'll find a good mix of Viet dishes from egg rolls and pho to banh mi and banh xeo (only on weekends). The bun bo hue was pretty tasty and decent kick. Broth was a little light but still delicious. Came with thicker noodles and a good amount of meat! The egg rolls had a nice slice of meat and shrimp and the peanut sauce wasn't too peanut forward which I liked. Service is decent. Plenty of parking in the plaza.
google avatar

Earl U.

Yelp
4 1/2 stars. Forgot to mention Saigon dish charged me extra for the pork hock which is usually included in this soup. Still a good soup, just knocked it down 1/2 star for making the hock an option that I wasn't aware of.
google avatar

Bethany W.

Yelp
Really solid! Came on a Saturday for lunch and it was crowded! However, the staff managed the demand well and were good about moving people through. Food was tasty and they had some offerings that are different from other Vietnamese spots I frequent. Bathrooms were clean and the staff was quick to check on things when we let them know that one of our orders hadn't arrived yet. Hope to return. It's a speedy, casual business, but definitely a hit.
google avatar

Abhishek G.

Yelp
This place is always buzzing , got a table after 30 mins but worth the wait. The food is so fresh that you won't realize you came out to eat! Spring rolls were amazing, the peanut sauce is good too. I got the seafood pho , which was nice, flavorful and loaded with noodles ( I got large) , probably go a regular size if you are not looking to stuff yourself up. Will come back to try more here.
google avatar

Yelp
Saigon dish is a valuable Lawndale institution. Their pho is very flavorful and affordable.

Heather K.

Yelp
My favorite pho place closeish to West LA. All places I've tried in West LA are not authentic and extremely overpriced but this place is affordable and has the best pho.
google avatar

Nolan M.

Yelp
Excellent food, good prices, fast and friendly service. Pho for under $15 is hard to find these days and of you need a quick bite, this can fill you up for less than $20.
google avatar

Kristen C.

Yelp
Solid pho place. The broth was really tasty, noodles cooked to perfection, but felt that there could have been more meat in the bowl. I had small combo pho and there was only a few pieces of meat, maybe one meatball, and a small piece of tendon and tripe. My partner had the large bowl and also felt there could have been more meat. The Thai tea and Vietnamese tea were refreshing and delicious. Service was quick and everyone was polite. We went for lunch on the weekend and it was busy but not too packed so we had plenty of space to eat. Small parking lot available.
google avatar

Dee C.

Yelp
Absolutely love the pho here! We've come here so many times and it's amazing each time. The broth is so flavorful! You may have to wait for a table, but you never have to wait long for your food! They're so quick! Parking can be hard when it's during their busy times. Other than that, it's not too bad. I love this place! I wish they were open on Sundays hahaha I'd be going more often if they were!
google avatar

Kylie O.

Yelp
Came here on a Tuesday night and was seated right away. The service was super quick which is always a plus! Food: 5/5 I got the #11 which was pho with rare beef and brisket. The brisket was a little fatty for my liking but I really enjoyed the broth! Also got the egg rolls and wow so good! Service: 5/5 Service was quick! We got our food within 10 minutes. Just a heads up, you pay at the register on the way out so remember your table number! Ambiance: 5/5 Typical pho spot. Lots of seating options which is great for larger groups. Overall, I might have just found my go-to pho spot in the South Bay!
google avatar

Naomi L.

Yelp
The food was amazing. Came during a weekday for lunch and ordered a #26 with a veggie eggroll. The service was quick, the food was ready so fast, and it tasted amazing. The eggroll was large and perfectly crispy. I could have drank the fish sauce on its own. Plus the staff was friendly, and they accommodated a split check for a table of six. I wish I lived closer, but I will definitely be back.
google avatar

Kelly L.

Yelp
Had to leave another review because again John and his staff killed it tonight! My daughter and I showed up just 5 mins before closing due to leaving a late school event. We weren't sure if we'd get seated & were ok with being turned away as it was so late & there was a waitlist already... but John & the staff MADE IT HAPPEN! We didn't have to wait too long & the food was great as always! The service was still top tier even if we showed up so late (sorry guys) but thank you so much for having my daughter & I. We really needed the soup
google avatar

Jay ..

Yelp
This review is only for their bahn mi that's all I ordered to go. Their bahn mi was fairly cheap, I ordered the beef. The bread to filling ratio was horrible first of all. The bread also wasn't good, it was not on a French bag-get but bread like subway, soft roll. So I don't recommend their bahn mi, it was one of the worse I ever had. I'm not gonna give them a lower stars because this isn't what they specialize in and I need to try their other foods to give them a better review. Definitely not an authentic bahn mi. Felt like a subway version if there was a such thing.

Yelp
What can I say about Saigon dish that you can't already see in the absolutely delicious food pics I've posted. The fam loves this place. My #1 is the 13A. Filet mignon Pho. With added fried onions and garlic. Comes with a bundle of sprouts and holy basil, jalapeño and lemons to squeeze. My Fav!!! Clean broth. Full of flavor. I'm a big dud3 and the Regular is more then enough to fill me up and leave me completely satisfied everytime. My second #1 dish is the Luc Lac beef. Aka:Shaken Beef. OMG so tender so flavorful and just enough. But I like it so much I end up asking for extra meat. If your a big steak eater, double up the meat. You won't be disappointed, it's a bit sweet. Just a touch. So if you like that, then this is your jam. My third #1 is the Cornish Hen, so tiny, so full of flavor. It comes with a small bowl of broth from the chicken baste to dip or pour over your yellow rice to add that extra flavor profile and kick it up a Ladder worth. :) I recommend this for kids if they want nothing but chicken here. Appetizer for me is the Veg spring rolls. Great taste and made fresh everytime. So wonderful to have this here. Crunchy and slightly chewy inside. Wrap it in some lettuce it comes with dip in the sweet chili and enjoy! 5 years coming here and I honestly with out any doubt say this is the best of the best of the best for service, cleanliness and flavor of Vietnamese popular dishes hands down. Check the menu before you to make sure they have what your looking for. Enjoy and Stay Wild Fam! Thank You John for your passion to deliver the best in SoCal all day everyday!

Yelp
There's not many great pho places in LA, but I truly believe this place is a hidden gem and it's always packed for good reason. They have a very wide menu with a lot of authentic Vietnamese dishes. I was eyeing the dry noodles, but I really wanted to try their pho. I got the number 13 and added tendon to it. Service was pretty quick and came out within 5 minutes. The portion was pretty large and I was almost full halfway through my bowl. The broth was super flavorful and they added an even ratio of meat to noodles. The meat was super tender just melts in your mouth. All that for $10 is amazing, especially being in LA. Definitely will be coming back to try their other options! Plenty of parking in the plaza. We came at night, so the lot wasn't as full. I thought the service was great. A lot of people were complaining, but I thought they were pretty friendly and did a great job. On Yelp, it says they close at 8:30pm, but we called beforehand and they close at 9pm, but last call for kitchen is 8:30pm. Check this place out, you won't regret it!

Yelp
Saigon Dish never fails to disappoint. Great service. Great food. Great taste. Need I say anything more?!

Yelp
Came here for lunch on a Wednesday afternoon. I had no issues getting seated right away which was nice. Seeing that it had a live waitlist I was concerned this place would be busy. All of the food I ordered was delicious and made hot. The Thai tea was perfect, it wasn't too sweet. The only issue I encountered was through their service. I was given someone else's pho order but the staff was quick to fix that. If you pay with cash, you can receive a discount on your bill.

Yelp
vegetarian pho is ok, falls in the middle of all the vegetarian pho i have tried. the tofu is good i like how they cook it. good variety of vegetables. broth light, garlicky.

Yelp
Decent PHO in the south bay area without having to drive to (Westminster) OC for pho 79. The broth is good enough to not require any modification. The portions with meat are reasonable price including it being pretty fresh meats. The regular bowl is good enough for me. The photo is a Large but a bit too much for me. They do best on the PHO. Other soups are offer for variety are OK but it can't compete with OC restaurants. The rice plates and veggie plates are OK. However, I wouldn't order banh mi sandwiches from here. They do offer Vietnamese & Thai coffee including young fresh coconut. The restaurant is small (larger 7 eleven) so gets packed during dinner. This requires waiting outside (especially during the winter) so dress warm. No reservation, join a wait list on arrival. Free parking is shared with other stores. The owner and staff are very nice They are very efficient so as busy as they are they are much faster than larger chains. There's a 5% discount for using cash vs. Credit cards.

Yelp
I tried pho years ago and didn't like it. I didn't eat it for years until recently. My friend got me food from here and I have been back here at least four times since. I can't believe I let one bad experience form my opinion on pho. They have the best pho in town. I've slowly made my way through their menu and everything is good.

Yelp
Amazing amazing dishes! So delicious! My girls and I came after a hard day of prepping for the PTA bake sale! And what a joyous surprise this was! Food here is cheap but also high in quality and quantity. The egg rolls are huge and scrumptious, our server is so sweet! Come here if you enjoy good Vietnamese food and a nice time! Will be coming back with my girls soon!

Yelp
so excited to try Saigon Dish. only heard good or great things fm friends. we arrived a few minutes before opening (IYKYK) and stood outside. a man was unloading produce & supplies a van. he asked if we were waiting to come in. we were waiting for another couple and it was still before opening time. he opened the door and said, pls come in! that was it! i was sold! an owner who values their customer over the "rules." they have many 2-tops so seating is easily adjustable. their staff is quick and attentive. food is served hot and generous portions. the cha gio are huge! i like the pho with everything (tripe, tendon, etc) all the usual accoutrements (basil, sprouts, onions, jalapeños, etc).

Yelp
I stopped by on a Monday afternoon at around 0430p. The service was terrible, more like non-existent. I waited at least 10 minutes to have my orders taken. I received my soup before the appetizer. My server did not even come back to refill by water. I have to flag her down to tell her I need the to go box. Bun Bo Hue was bland, with no flavor. It lacked authenticity and depth of flavor. I really wanted to like this place since I've heard many good things. But after today, I don't think I'm ever coming back here.
google avatar

Glen C.

Yelp
Best Pho in the South Bay. Always get the combo large and an order of Cha Gio. They are fast and if you pay cash, you get a 5% discount on your bill. Be sure to sign up on the Yelp wait list when you get there. On a cold rainy night, it gets packed and the wait can be longer than expected. But for solid pho place, this is the only one without traveling to North OC.

Yelp
I love this place so hard I might get married here. I owe john my life. When I feel sad, I come to saigon dish. When I feel happy, I come to saigon dish. When I feel like I need some motivation, John and his staff welcomes me with a warm bowl of pho that shines light into this dark dark world. Thank you for being here Saigon Dish. Life wouldn't be the same.

Yelp
Bahn xeo, pho and vermicelli are definitely my favorites The best Vietnamese place in LA.

The service is good but the food was just ok. For sure not the ambiance you would look for. It's not too expensive to eat here but the price should be lower for what the restaurant offers.

Yelp
Always hits the spot. John and his team are truly amazing. They're always packed and somehow manage to keep us coming back. Love the spring rolls and lean beef pho, those are our go tos but have also had the sandwich too.

Yelp
Food is delicious and the portion size is great! Really good if you're feeling under the weather as well I've only ever ordered the food from here and have not gone in person so I have no comment on the service sadly ... But the food is definitely worth it!
