I love this restaurant. I used to go here a lot when I would visit my brother in Ft. Wayne. The last time I dined there was nearly 20 years ago. The menu is massive, so you're definitely going to be able to find something that you like. I had the traditional Pho with thinly sliced beef, and my brother had crab meat and shrimp in his dish. Both were delicious. They have updated the interior and have new (to me) signage out front. The last time I was there it was cash only, so it was great to see that they take cards now. The service was great, the portions were large, and the atmosphere was very chill. Glad to see that the Saigon Restaurant is still around and still delivering an amazing product. I'll definitely be back, the next time I'm in Ft. Wayne.

Google
Good is always absolutely amazong and I love that they give an egg roll with your meal!! They have all the condiments or things, if you'd like to add to your food right on the table. So it's a very convenient! Services always very quick and they are very attentive! I'm always checking in and making sure you are set to go!

Tried bbq pork buns this time. Tasted a bit like jerky texture but still good. Maybe the regular pork bun will be shredded pork? The ramen is always a must!

I have been eating at Saigon Restaurant since at least 1995, and I love their food. Hands down, they have the best egg rolls I have ever eaten (and I'm not usually a fan of egg rolls). Their noodles (especially their Hu Tiu Tom) are out of this world good, and their Cafe Sua Da (Vietnamese iced coffee) is insanely, addictively good. They recently (a couple of years ago) expanded with a new dining room that is quite charming. The only drawbacks are the somewhat spotty parking and sometimes slower service (only reason I didn't give a fifth star). But I keep reminding myself that only in America are we super obsessed with getting everything right now, pronto. I try to slow down and enjoy the experience when I visit; it's nice to have a great place for authentic Vietnamese food and a change of pace. Wicked good place to eat.

Google
Excellent Vietnamese food and worth a stop if you are in the area. The Bao Bao rolls were super soft /light and fluffy and the PHO was quite flavorful. Naturally you will also want to try the Vietnamese sweat coffee. Egg roll and crab Rangoon were pretty good too. 4.5/5

Awesome family place for a quick bite or a relaxing dinner. Affordable family prices. Try this place!

Google
Is very good! Had noodles with meatballs the first time and shrimp lo mien the second. Everyone I've taken there has enjoyed it even my picky grandpa. Is family friendly and has excellent service.

Google
I usually go here and get the pho with all the fixings. This time I wanted to try something new. The oxtail ramen. It was 25$. And wow, it was disappointing. First it should of came with vegetables and had to tell the server it was supposed to have them like it says on the menu and told me I was wrong, she then later comes by with some boiled veggies on a plate which isn’t even the vegetable it says it should me with. Also the ramen noodles is some 99 cent ramen noodles packet like they just opened a packet and put it in there. The broth should have be different as stated on the menu but it’s just their normal pho broth. Lastly they ruined a perfectly good oxtail. It was over cooked and rubbery like they just boiled it on high when I ordered it. No season on the meat. Then when I complained they didn’t offer any service. Didn’t ask if they could get me something else or anything. The waiter also walked away from me middle sentence when I explained how upset I was with the meal and service. They forgot my friends drink. Also then when I explained it to the manager she basically told me get over it, “eat what you order” . Never going back again

Yelp
Fantastic lil Vietnamese joint on the outskirts of downtown... Really good Pho, excellent service (family owned), laidback dining room, and fair/reasonably priced food. If you're looking for solid Vietnamese food, definitely recommend checking out Saigon.

Yelp
I've only had the egg rolls here. I feel comfortable saying these are the best egg rolls in town. They are crispy on the outside and flavor and tender on the inside. The service here is quick and efficient. I placed my ordered over the phone and it was ready within 15 mins. This appears to be a family owned and operated business and they have a system that allows them to run in sync with one another. They offer dine in seating. It's a small place but there is room for several diners. It's not the most aesthetic place, but it's clean and comfortable.

Yelp
Was very optimistic this place would be good but the sauce and quality of food wasn't there. The fresh roll wasn't fresh and the peanut sauce tasted like water. The pork noodle salad had barely any pork that I had to add the leftover ribs I had from costco. Definitely not worth it.

Yelp
The quality of the food and friendly, reaponsive service were the standout elements of my visit. Affordable as well!

Yelp
No more mister nice guy. If a restaurant does a bad job I am going to tell it like it is. Prices have gone up with dinning out and I don't mind paying more. However, when a restaurant raises prices and cuts quality substantially I see red. Saigon restaurant has done just that. We went for lunch this week and the food was just awful. If you charge a lot for a plate in your establishment the food should be fresh and cooked to order so it is the best it can be. Do not serve precooked warmed over food and then expect your customers to be happy with it. If enough people feel like me these places will have to improve or go out of business. and it would be deserved.
google avatar

Yelp
The food was good enough; but for what you get and they were out of some of the ingredients; I'd say $73 was a bit expensive for the 3 of us! The service was good, however.

Yelp
First time visiting! I am surprised Fort Wayne has good Vietnamese food!! It was so legit! The broth was very fragrant with all the right spices - not just smell/taste like MSG - and texture of noodle was perfect. Their spring roll was pretty blend but their peanut sauce was sooooo good with a lot of crushed peanuts. One thing I found little odd was that the Waiter came over to take my order before providing a menu, and when I asked for a menu, he was like, "oh? You need a menu?" as if he was surprised. Maybe I look like one of the regulars?? Lol.
google avatar

Yelp
I was charged twice for 2 different amounts . Because I refused to give a bigger tip. The elderly owner/ Manager demanded a bigger tip, when I refused to give more, after I left she charged me again for a totally different amount. This was malicious and intentional. This business is not BBB accredited and the restaurant has bugs flying around and smelled like a dirty mop was being used in the floors. The food was below average ingredients and I doubt it meets the State if Indiana food and health guidelines. I do not recommend eating here, as it appears to be a front for something else. I also filed a complaint with the state as well. If they're so comfortable charging people twice because they didn't like the tip that was left imagine how many people have been ripped off, fraud out of money and stolen from! If I could give zero stars I would

Yelp
Have been trying to go here the last few weeks, the first time the restaurant was packed, earlier this week was closed for vacation (we all need those), today I understand why it was packed my first time I went. All the staff was very friendly. The food was amazing and they have such a large selection of things to try from there menu. The inside was clean and dinner style when you first enter then they have other rooms that are more restaurant mom and pop type place.

Yelp
Well....Got myself a new favorite Vietnamese restaurant! The old "hole in the wall" has been updated inside and is clean and appealing. Who wants to go to an authentic Vietnamese place that looks like Applebees anyway! They had three Buddha statues sitting next to a picture of sweet Jesus. Talk about diversity! We showed up after the lunch rush and the service was first rate.....the egg rolls and the crab Rangoon were way above average and piping hot. My wife's garlic chicken was stuffed with fresh vegetables but the chicken was dry! The sauce was so good it made up for that. Thus the four stars. My brisket and eye of round Pho was super! The oldest Vietnamese restaurant in the fort is back!!!

Li L.

Yelp
Everything was spectacular!! From the location, ambience, service, menu options and pricing !!!! Hands down the best restaurant I've been to in a few years now !! Will definitely be back

Rick C.

Yelp
It was the best in the state, but new owners made some changes that ruined it for me: 1. Watered down their chilli mustard 2. Watered down their lemongrass sauce. It was a pool of liquid on the plate 3. Added sugar to their chilli mustard and lemongrass sauces. 4. Jacked up the price of everything and reduced the main dish in exchange for more rice. They still use fresh vegetables but that is expected of Vietnamese restaurants You may like it, but know it has been degraded from what it used to be. You may still be able to get a decent Vietnamese coffee there .

Yelp
Food was okay; wonton soup was not the best tasting. I'll give this one another chance in the future. Service and space was amazing though.

Yelp
It's been a while since I had Vietnamese food and this restaurant reminded me of how much I missed it. The spring rolls were served very quickly and tasted great! The pho was delicious- flavorful broth, good amount of meat, etc. It was also my friend's first time eating pho and he thoroughly enjoyed it as well. On the side, my friend and I shared a Vietnamese coffee which was another great choice since we had a long road trip ahead of us. The servers were fast and friendly which made our dining experience even better. Will be coming back if I ever swing by Fort Wayne again.

Yelp
Tried the meatball soup. Broth was developed, hint of cinnamon. The meatballs tasted sorta of like brats. Lots of meatballs for $5. Tried the egg rolls on a recommendation; they were over cooked in my opinion. The other guests spring rolls looked amazing. The crab Rangoon looked good. I had the ramen combo seafood and vegetable. It had a good sauce. The squid and crab lacked flavor but that is not the restaurants fault. Maybe the beef, chicken or shrimp alloy would have been better. They do have traditional Asian dishes also on the menu and several soup noodle dished not a labeled Pho but looked like Pho to me from what other guests had. I look forward to trying the Pho, spring rolls, crab Rangoon, and traditional Asian dishes. On a side note, the restaurant looked really good inside; clean and decorated, and there was a lot of condiments on the table to try with the dishes.

Yelp
Great food in the area, a little bit of trouble finding parking but that's expectable in a busier area. Friendly staff mostly and overall good experience!
google avatar

Yelp
It was a chilly Friday and all four of us were off work and school. We needed some warm lunch and a big bowl of Pho was just the thing. The tables were spread apart and they were taking every precaution to keep customers safe. The warm egg rolls were spot on and will be some of the best you ever taste. The menu is gigantic with several different varieties for every tastebud. The broth always makes the Pho dish and Saigon's is one of the best. Nice amounts of bean sprouts, limes and jalapenos were offered on the side. Great local "dive" for when you're downtown and there is a chill in the air.

Yelp
Restaurant review FORT WAYNE BEST: VIETNAMESE RESTAURANT I had tempered my expectations after another experience at a different Vietnamese restaurant that had rave reviews on Yelp, but I was not disappointed. This is a traditional hole in the wall restaurant with great authentic Vietnamese food. I was surprised how friendly the staff was when we came in with a large group, they quickly rearranged two tables to sit our larger party. The server was quite friendly and took our menu orders without any problems. Food was served promptly and most of all the Pho soup was amazing. Clear, complex, and not too salty or sweet. It did not seem to be flavored by MSG soup mix where you leave feeling super thirsty. My number 13 pho had eye round steak, well done flank, fat brisket, and tender tripe was simply amazing with the right balance of protein and noodles. The noodles themselves were cooked well without being congealed into one brick and I drank every last drop of the soup. To top off my meal, I had the Vietnamese sweeten ice coffee, I made sure to ask if it came in a can and they told me it was fresh drip-brew. I was pleasantly surprised to see it was brought to the table still dripping. My only problem was getting it into the other cup of ice. I can't even describe in words how amazing the taste of the coffee! Pros: friendly staff, amazing pho broth, fresh ingredients Cons: bathrooms that are not so clean, street parking limited Hidden deals: None

Yelp
Very good food, everything is always fresh and tasty. The chicken pho is my favorite with their egg rolls and sweet and sour sauce.

Yelp
The best the best the best if you're looking for Thai food with an Asian influence, this is the place hands-down service is a little slow, but totally worth the wait
google avatar

Lindsey L.

Yelp
I haven't been here in nearly a decade or more. I wasn't thrilled then but now I have to say, this is my second best pho place in town! The service was excellent, and the pho was damn near on point. The spring rolls were ok. Our pho was generously full of noodles but lacked cilantro. We left full and happy for a great price. It's still a little hole in the wall but it's cozy and just right for a good bowl of pho or any other item off of the menu. Will happily come back here!

Britt S.

Yelp
Me and my fiancé went to have some lunch. I love their beef fresh noodle soup and their egg rolls are great. However, we were finishing up, and I was stirring up my soup to take it to go, I looked down and seen a dead fly in my soup. I talked to someone at the front, don't think it was a manager but I'm not sure, her response was that the door opens and flies come in and there is nothing they can do about it, but if something does happen then of course they will take it off of the bill. While I understand that it's impossible to keep bugs out of a restaurant, I also would never be able to eat here again. Because had I not stirred up my soup, I would've never seen that there was a dead fly in it. obviously I didn't pay for it, but something about their response was unsettling. There was no apology, and their explanation was there's nothing they can do about it.

Sosakan O.

Yelp
The food is amazing, the service is not. I usually refrain from roasting a place because everyone has an off day. I, however have come here many times in the past and on my latest trip was aghast to find the waitress/cashier hold onto my change until I tipped enough! When I said I was going to put it on the table, she just kept saying 15% minimum and would not give me my change until I "gave" her enough tip. I have noticed the cleanliness and overall tidy ness go down over the years and this will be my last visit there.

Yelp
A Fort Wayne staple! You wont find better noodle soups in the area! I'm a noodle bowl #5 or soup #7 addict, but have never been disappointed when I ask our waitress for suggestions. The crab rangoon is great! If you dont feel like eating in, they package their takeout PERFECTLY!

Yelp
First time ever having Vietnamese and needless to say I.AM.IN.LOVE. For starters this place is small but don't let that deter you from visiting this gem. We were seated almost right away and were greeted by our waitress after a few moments. Not only was she incredibly kind but she was patient and willing to explain some of the menu items since I've never had this type of cuisine. Once we ordered our food it arrived in a timely matter and it was made fresh and served hot. The portions were very generous and were priced way lower than I anticipated! Everything was made right as we ordered it and was fresh. I can't tell you how much I love this place. We will definitely be back!!!

Yelp
I have been going to Saigon Restaurant for more than 20 years, and it is as good as the first day I went. The absolute best egg rolls ever, and their noodles and other Vietnamese cuisine is not only authentic, but the best you're likely to get in the Midwest. Family owned and operated. The only cons are that the ambiance is sub-par (but they have just finished renovating in September 2018, so it will be interesting to see the upgrades), and the service can sometimes be a little spotty. But the food is so darn good, and the people so friendly, I can overlook a couple of minor transgressions.

Marcie H.

Yelp
My favorite restaurant for Pho. The restaurant is pretty small so we usually do take out. Staff is friendly and prices are reasonable.

Joy M.

Yelp
Very nice people and very good food. We enjoyed the meal (pho) and everyone else had ordered that as well, so it must be the answer.

Rachel K.

Yelp
Amazing authentic Vietnamese food. Pho soup is very extremely tasty. We ordered and other bowl of soup just to satisfy the taste bud. Rice paper roll and fried cheese dumplings are very yummy too. And the Vietnamese dropping ice coffee is the best tasted ever. Owner and servers are all so friendly that they made us feel like home. Have to come again!
google avatar

Greg C.

Yelp
On the cusp of 4 stars, but the spring rolls came up short for me. I also had the pork skin summer rolls which were good, but they failed to tell me I should order a half-order and I couldn't finish them. My pho was 4 stars. Broth was the weak link - a little bland and couldn't be entirely rescued with herbs, fresh lime and sriracha. However the meats were top notch and they didn't skimp on the excellent tendon and tripe. Best pho I've found in FW.
google avatar

Alitza H.

Yelp
a fort wayne staple. i went in for a quick lunch and split egg rolls, crab rangoon, and spring rolls with my mom, which were absolutely delicious. great prices, atmosphere, and the kindest staff. i always leave full and content.
google avatar

Aliya T.

Yelp
So SO good. Fresh noodle combo is my go to dish. Oh and the coffee too. Great to order a big bowl of soup when you're under the weather.
google avatar

Cassandra C.

Yelp
This is a hole in the wall place. I took my sister and a friend there for their first time and they loved it, I got Pho, my sister and friend both got different noodle bowls. If you have a small appetite these portions are big enough to share especially if you get some of their yummy egg roles, remember just one is not enough. Just a bit of help navigating the table sauces based on my experience.....mustard bottle is hot mustard, ketchup bottle is sweet and sour, the bottle that looks like bbq is teriyaki (we think), and then there are two things of crushed peppers on the table I assume one is hotter than the other.
google avatar

Deva B.

Yelp
Highly recommend this family owned business!! Everything we tried was amazing! Very good prices too. Best Egg Rolls in town
google avatar

Cat K.

Yelp
Zero star if I could. Definitely poor customer service - first time here and I stood waiting to be seated, like sign instructed, and 15 mins later I'm still not seated or even acknowledge. I left after the rude impression. I didn't get to try them, but I do not think I am missing out.
google avatar

Jason S.

Yelp
Last time I visited, they were cash only, which is a pain. But their egg rolls are the best anywhere, ever, and I love their duck ramen pho. It's a truly authentic southeast Asian eatery.

Yelp
Pho-king awesome! It's a rainy day in Fort Wayne and I'm craving a big bowl of soup. I'm really craving a bowl of pho like I can get back home in la-la ville and I'm pretty sure there aren't any Vietnamese this deep into the midwest......WRONG! Thanks to a quick Yelp search I found Saigon Restaurant. It's a small shop with counter service and a few tables. It's a Saturday afternoon and the place is packed. Immediately I was greeted by "Tammy" from the Anjelah Johnson, Crystal Gel video. " There no table, we busy, you wait ten or fifteen minute for next table." A bit abrupt and almost rude but that's OK I'm jonesing too much to care. I grabbed a spot at the counter and waited about twenty before I could get anyone to wait on me. It's a busy place and the staff seems flustered every time you ask for something. Maybe it was an off day... The pho broth is just as it should be and the Vietnamese coffee is strong and delicious, a perfect warm up on a cold day. The only thing I found odd is having to ask for basil. It took a couple of attempts but I finally got a few sprigs, enough to share with the couple sitting next to me. I was surprised to hear they have never tried basil in their pho, in fact I noticed they didn't use any of the add-ins that normally come with the soup. You have to add the cilantro, peppers, bean sprouts, basil and lime to get the full spectrum of flavor! Normally I'd kick off a couple of stars for slow or poor service but I give the crew here a pass because they really seem under staffed for such a busy place. Note to owner: Give Tran more to do, the poor guy looks lost. Lastly good citizens of Ft Wayne, next time you visit Saigon on Calhoun order your bowl of Pho and pronounce it correctly. Here's a hint, use the sound Fuhhh like in 'fudge' and add a question mark. "Fuhhh?" Your waitress will be impressed and (maybe) bring you some basil before you have to ask.

Yelp
Best pho in Fort Wayne! Service is great/fast and the food is authentic. The staff is always friendly.
google avatar

Lisa I.

Yelp
Community oriented busy restaurant serving delicious noodle bowls and pho. The Vietnamese Iced Coffee is a must to balance spicy dishes! I noticed someone said they do not serve alcohol, but I believe they do have a beer/wine license. The menu also includes American diner breakfast offerings which makes it easy for everyone to find something they like. Have been going there for several years, usually on Saturday or Sundays, and always a warm welcome from staff even when crazy busy, and the regulars are very nice, too. Good value... very affordable and take out available. Bring cash or be prepared to sprint to the nearest ATM. I've seen it happen a few times. Hee.

Yelp
I've been here soooo many times so I can finally review all about it ! If you're looking for some authentic Vietnamese, then this is the place for ya! Appetizers are great! I always get the egg rolls or the spring rolls. As for the entree, make sure to get the pork chop rice with an egg! So delicious and fulfilling. The pork chop is not hard like other places. If you want some soup instead of rice, I recommend getting the seafood egg noodle soup. Broth tastes pretty great. I had the pho before but it didn't taste great at all... it was not flavorful like other places.. however that was a few years ago so they might have change it. The price isn't expensive either. It's about $8-9/entree. Ps, they take credit cards now! :)

Yelp
This is THE original Vietnamese restaurant in FW. Delicious food, courteous staff, modest interiors.

Yelp
Okay so the egg rolls had been calling my name and I happened to have cash...lol. I also brought along my nephew for a second opinion. We had the beef and broccoli with mushrooms added, chicken fried rice and, of course, egg rolls. The egg rolls: Great. Hot, crispy Chinese goodness. A tad heavy on the black pepper. Beef and broccoli: fresh, good amount of everything but the brown sauce was a lil sweet. Fried rice: AWESOME! It's flavorful, absolute flavor filled. It totally says authentic Asian (I think HAHAHA). But the flavors are deep and smokey. The rice was perfectly cooked and loaded with scallions, chicken, ham and eggs. You must try it. It won't disappoint. $6.50 for chicken fried rice and one egg roll. It's my new go-to meal. And service was better this time. Prompt and friendly. All in all, I'll be back. My nephew agreed but he said only for the egg rolls... Kids-gotta luv em.
google avatar

Rui G.

Yelp
Love this place! They've got a huge menu of Vietnamese and other Asian food. Pho, wonton noodle soup, ramen, fried noodles... it's noodle city. It's cheap, filling, tasty, and has character. You've got to try their Vietnamese ice coffee and egg rolls too. I've heard their breakfast is good but I've never tried it because I keep getting the noodles instead (it's just so good). And now they take credit cards, so it's even more convenient!
google avatar

Scott S.

Yelp
Everything was very good. Wish I lived close to this place so I could come here more often. Very polite service. Clean and comfortable. 2nd visit was just as good as the first. Delicious beer noodles soup today was very satisfying.
google avatar

Josh M.

Yelp
One of the best places in Fort Wayne. The Pho soup is amazing and the little waitress is very very nice! One of my most checked in places here in town. Be cautious bc it can become a tight squeeze if they are busy.
google avatar

Jill F.

Yelp
Pho , any variety you can think of. Fried Rice , any combo you can think of. How is it that I've lived in this town most of my life, and never been to this restaurant? I have now been twice and highly impressed both times. A very helpful tip, it is CASH only.
google avatar

Tasya N.

Yelp
I give this restaurant 3 stars cuz the Duck egg noodle soup are very good but what disgusting about the restaurant was the register lady picked her nose in front of the customers while I'm eating.
google avatar

Alina V.

Yelp
One of my top favorite places for pho! The service here needs some work but the food and the wait makes up for it all. Y'all gotta try this place out!
google avatar

Jasmine B.

Yelp
Great egg rolls and Pho. Also the chicken basket is big enough for 2 kids to split. No complaints. Oh vietnamese coffee was good, just a little too strong for me.
