Been going there for a long time. It's my go to for Vietnamese food. The meals are good size portions and the prices are still fair. We ordered a meal for four people and had a lot of leftovers. It's a sure bet for a satisfying Vietnamese meal.

Google
service was a little slow but the food was so fire 🔥 ordered: crepe appetizer thing, 22 and 111 noodle soups, and rice dish with grilled pork +egg rolls the curry chicken and beef soup with the baguette were both really good. but beef soup was a bit oily

Ruth P

Google
I enjoyed the food. I ordered Lemongrass chicken my friend ordered Beef with Snowpeas.(I forgot to take pictures!) I also enjoyed the pork fried rolls with lettuce wraps and fish saude.

Google
Have only done take out here and never eaten in. Giant menu. The egg drop soup large is enough for 2 meals and the best egg drop soup I have ever had which is why we keep going back. Nothing has ever been terrible but it can be inconsistent. If you call ahead for take out, expect to wait. Don’t rush to get there because if they tell you 25 min, it will be 25 min, maybe a little longer if they are busy cuz it’s a a big place.

Google
Great food great service. I think the broth is my third favorite in the san diego area.

Google
The worst Vietnamese restaurant that I've ever been to! Not only are they very rude, but the place is disgusting! The tables were sticky, and there were cockroaches crawling on the floor!!! The food is subpar. I had to leave and get tamales from the corner. By the way, they were the best tamales I've ever had!

Google
The food is good ,the service is very slow No alcohol services. Bummer, plenty of food 😋

Yelp
My fiancée and I were craving com tam one day and we were searching on yelp to see which restaurant has the broken rice dish on their menu. I saw the pictures that Saigon had and it looked the most appealing. However the restaurant itself had a 3 star so we were skeptical. I've been here before since I was young but maybe things have changed and it's not good anymore? We decided to give it a chance and order to go here. The food came in a huge portion and it smelled scrumptious! 10/10 recommend for the broken rice with grilled pork. It was good and not dry. The dish came with a small bowl of soup and lots of veggies!

Yelp
I wanted to give Saigon Restaurant another chance after a previous disappointing visit, hoping for a better experience. Unfortunately, my visit today did not meet expectations, in both food quality and customer service. I ordered the Pho Ap Chao, looking forward to a dish of crispy fried noodles. After waiting for 15 minutes, the dish was served, but the noodles were not crispy at all--instead, they were cold and appeared to be straight from a bag, just mixed with some stir-fried vegetables. More concerning was the shrimp, which smelled spoiled, suggesting it had been left out too long. I pointed these issues out to the server, who was indifferent and insisted that this was the norm at their restaurant. I emphasized that while I might tolerate an undelicious dish, serving potentially spoiled food is unacceptable. This experience was worrying enough for me to consider notifying the Health Department, as I wouldn't want anyone else to fall ill due to their food safety practices. I caution anyone considering dining here--your health might be at risk from the spoiled food being served.

Yelp
This is the 2nd time this has happened where this restaurant just decided to close before the actual closing time. I cut them some slack last time but I can't just keep silent on this. Can I speak to the quality and taste of the food? Nope! I can say their service sucks because they are too lazy to stay open till their guaranteed hours. I arrived tonight at 8:37pm (on a night when they're supposed to be open till 10pm) to find them completely closed. Thank goodness other Vietnamese restaurants were open till scheduled hours or my family and I would have starved.

Yelp
Just ate here at 4:00pm so it wasn't busy and my party was seated instantly. I love the variety in the menu, it has almost every Vietnamese dish I know! Delicious Pho broth and grilled pork, highly recommend!

Yelp
My family & I have been coming to eat here since I was a little girl. The inside is spacious & it has a a lot of natural lighting from all the windows around the restaurant. It is always clean & well kept. When we walked in yesterday, they weren't busy as other times so we got seated right away. The server gave us the menu & water right away. My dad ordered the family combo for $60 which was perfect for our family of 4. Every dish has a nice savory taste which all goes really well together. We like to put some of the juices in the fish pot into our rice which gives the rice a nice salty spicy taste. The server was also consistent with filling our cups with water. At the end we did take some leftovers to go which is good to eat the next day with some white rice at home. This is a great restaurant to go to on a casual weekday dinner or a big family occasion. We have been here for Mother's Day or graduation celebrations. Prices are not too expensive and portions are good. Overall great restaurant & definitely recommend!

Yelp
Simply the best order the lemongrass beef appetizer you will not be disappointed. I have been searching for a dish like this since I was stationed in Vietnam and couldn't find it until I found this place. Great food service is good really awesome hidden gem.
google avatar

Yelp
This place has the best rice plate (com tam) in the world. Nothing beats their grilled pork meat, trust me on this

Yelp
Love this place. Every time my wife wants Pho and we don't drive all the way to Saigon she gets sad.

Yelp
This is a well established Vietnamese restaurant located in the heart of Little Saigon. They have an extensive menu featuring both Vietnamese and Chinese dishes, and large tables perfect for family style dining. While other restaurants may specialize in a few certain dishes, Saigon has it all. The service can be kind of slow but it's methodical. The Spring Rolls are absolutely giant here. You can easily cut an order of two in half and share with four people.
google avatar

Simore M.

Yelp
I've only been here a few times, and it's always good. The menu is humongous. Egg rolls are on point. For some reason, their water is delicious. Yes, I said water! Polite service clean area. I'd highly recommend.
google avatar

Jhuanna M.

Yelp
I've been here a couple times before I decided to review it. I'm always scared to get pho at different places because it can be a hit or miss but every time I've ordered pho here, it's always been consistent. The broth has so much flavor every single time. The menu here is HUGE. It can be overwhelming. They have a little bit of everything basically. But for the most part, everything is good. Food takes a little bit on the longer side to come out but that just tells me things are fresh. This spot is out of the way for me, but I'd probably end up here if I'm in the area.

Yelp
Still one of my favs Viet places to go for nem nuong, vermicelli bowls and their rice plates! Their rice combo plates are off the hook. They give you so much. It's more than 1 portion. We always have left overs and eat it for lunch the next day. Their vermicelli is just as good. Our other favorite is their salt and pepper shrimp. It's fried so crispy and so much flavor. Eat with plan white rice! Their hu tieu and soups are good. Service is so so, just like a Vietnamese place. Food orders take a little bit longer to come out but they get pretty busy.
google avatar

Melissa D.

Yelp
First time here. My family and I were quickly seated however service is slow here. You definitely need to flag down someone to take your order. But before that, the menu is quite extensive. By far the most Vietnamese entrees I've ever seen. Even traditional entrees you won't ever see on a menu. We started off with Vietnamese coffee (quantity is low, more ice than coffee) and 6 egg rolls which were quite big, followed by squid Salt and pepper (a must order) but quite expensive at 18.99. the #22 pho dac biet is quite tasty but the broth was on the salty end. A great place for big parties but hard to come back with other close by competition.
google avatar

Yelp
Old school and the best in the area. Sounds basic but their fried rice is on point! Always! Pho is good but a bit oily, amazing broth regardless. I just love this place!

Yelp
I have been going to Saigon for decades and was satisfied with the food and service. Then there was a few years drought where I didn't go but thought I would reconnect since I was craving Pho. The service is always slow but the chicken Pho was worth the wait. I asked the waiter as he was walking by if they had spring rolls that didn't have shrimp and he said no. I said ok and he moved on. The next thing I know is another waiter bringing me shrimp spring rolls. I said I didn't order them. The original waiter I spoke to about the spring rolls said that I did! Really! He comes to my table and said I ordered them. I said I asked a question but do not like shrimp spring rolls thus the question. The waiter left them on the table. I said box them up. I took them home and gave them to my partner who said they were awful. They were huge but huge does not always mean good. The rolls were all lettuce and very dry shrimp. The rice paper was ripped open and basically inedible. My partner took a couple bites and tossed them. So much for Saigon. Never again.

Yelp
We ordered pho, charboiled pork rice plate, seafood pho, eggrolls, and BBQ w/ vermicelli noodle. First off let's start with the service. It was literally non existence. Welcome to self service. The rice plate was not good. The pork was okay but the rice was so moist and soggy. It had me contemplating it this was last night's dinner from someone else. The eggroll was decent. The pho was okay. Their broth was not flavorful and could use some more seasoning. There were basically no customers in the restaurant. We were the only one. I would not come back to this restaurant.

Yelp
We have been coming here for many years. Our favorite Vietnamese restaurant. Before retirement I would often get a take out lunch here when I was traveling from one work spot to another. It has been a great spot to get Pho, usually Pho Ga (chicken) in recent years, Goi Ga (chicken salad), Canh Chua (sweet and sour shrimp or chicken soup), Bun Cha (Vermicelli noodle/salad bowls) and other items. With the Bun Cha, think of President Obama and Anthony Bourdain eating together in Vietnam. Yesterday we had one of the Bun or vermicelli noodle bowls and # 105 Shrimp, egg, tomato special combination vermicelli soup. The last I never had before. It was a wonderful collection of flavors and textures in a shrimp soup base. The wait staff and the owner are very nice and attentive and have good suggestions given the large menu. The cook/chef who served my beautiful bowl of #105 yesterday was quite proud of her creation. I said it looked wonderful. She smiled and said "beautiful". It was. It is a comfortable local spot we return to frequently for eat in or take out.

Lynda C.

Yelp
I worked a couple of blocks away from this place for a long time and frequently ate here but I haven't worked in a couple of years. I decided to treat myself to the fried egg rolls but they are not the same as when I worked. They were NOT good! in fact they tasted sour and the sauce was spicy. The man at the counter was not the one who always waited on me before. I paid in cash and the new guy gave me my bills but not the coins and looked at me as if he dared me to ask for my change. It was just a few coin, insignificant really but I make decisions about my money not someone else.

Trish H.

Yelp
The service is worst especially the lady (I and not sure she is the owner or not) we came and sat there almost 30 minutes and no one came to take order... after I asked she screamed at me who have to let me know what you want to eat how do I know Don't you think that place is the good place to have lunch here? I don't recommend this restaurant and I don't come back.
google avatar

Joyce Ann E.

Yelp
Pho wasn't good. Spring rolls were massive but only had two shrimp halves. We got utensils and there was a dried up piece of rice stuck to one of our forks. Large menu and decent parking doesn't mean quality food. Also, the iced waters we got tasted like it had cleaner in it.
google avatar

Charles N.

Yelp
I was in town and I asked the locals for the best Vietnamese cuisine. They pointed me to this restaurant. I drive here and I was a bit hesitant since there were practically nobody there for lunch. Warning sign number one. I asked for their recommendations and they said pho but I couldn't eat beef today. Bun rieu it was! Boy, it wasn't good. It seemed like everything was frozen and I'm they just defrosted it and made the soup. I don't know if it was freshly cooked but it was a huge disappointment. Maybe I didn't order the right food but if one dish was microwaved to defrost, then others can't be too fresh either. I wasn't impressed at all!
google avatar

LINA M.

Yelp
I've been coming here for years since I was younger. They are known to not only have slow, but horrible service! Their food is pretty good, but their service and the wait for the food outweighs that at times. They can be super busy or even on a slow day, it doesn't matter, the food takes sooo long to come out. Even their takeout phone orders take a long time!
google avatar

Luis A.

Yelp
I've been coming here for a while now. It never disappoints. The food usually takes longer to come out but it's delicious and hot. It has plenty of parking and plenty of seating, especially for bigger groups. I definitely recommend this place.
google avatar

Yelp
They need to update their business hours. I couldn't remember which day of the week they closed. Today was a Tuesday. Tried to call them but no answer. We end up driving by there anyways to see if they are open. If so, we would have eaten there. They were closed. Not sure if this business or Yelp is the one that needs to update their opening hours.
google avatar

Diana S.

Yelp
It has big servings. Vermicelli is good as well as the veggies and vegetarian egg rolls. The beef is soft. The pork was soft but fatty.
google avatar

Chris S.

Yelp
One of the worst experiences you will ever imagine. I am not even going to bother with elaboration, simply don't even bother to visit this place, it is not worth your time, I went last night and spent $70 for two entrées, and two warm beers, and the worst service I have ever experienced in my life and I will never visit this place again, and you should not either!
google avatar

Tina A.

Yelp
This has been and is my go to Pho place. They have been understaffed lately but who hasn't?! The spring rolls are always fresh and I love their dipping sauce. Also, I tend to always order the Pho Tai. Generous portion of meat and the broth is quite yummy. I would say go when you have time and not in the middle of a work lunch. Hopefully staffing issues will get better everywhere
google avatar

Chris A.

Yelp
We waited an hour for our food before finally just getting up and leaving. Tables in front of us were served food after 45 minutes and they arrived to the restaurant after us. We paid for our drinks and just left. Would highly recommend going elsewhere.

Yelp
Patience is a virtue with this restaurant. My boyfriend and I used to go here all the time before the pandemic and it was our favorite pho place! That statement still holds true. Although the service has slowed, the food still holds up and makes the "wait" worth it. (The wait was also not even that bad, we got seated at 11:15am and got our food by 11:45am) Our favorite things to order are the egg rolls, golden shrimp, wonton shrimp, and their phos! Their rice dishes are also so delicious!
google avatar

joe j.

Yelp
sweet gingeree sauce all over my clams. served with rice. my 9-year-old enjoyed the clams not too shabby

Hailey H.

Yelp
Good food but they serve shark fin soup, which is bad for the envirement and also banned.

Yelp
The food is so good, the service is very excellent, the ambiance of the place is wonderful. I love Siagons.
google avatar

Linda K.

Yelp
I have been coming here since 1999 when I moved into the area. The Vietnamese egg rolls are a must have! Served with fresh lettuce and mint leaves. I love the chargrilled pork with broken rice and fried egg. The garlic shrimp with steamed broccoli is divine! I really have never had a bad meal here! The building used to be a dance hall way back when so look up at the ceiling and you will see. Excellent customer service is a plus too!
google avatar

Cindy L.

Yelp
First time visiting with my family and it was a good experience. Although you really must have the patience because food takes awhile to come out. Also to-go orders take a good amount of time. Staff is friendly and if you know the dialect, it's easier to order. The menu has so many varieties and wide selections. The atmosphere is average and the restaurant is quite spacious with plenty of round tables and chairs. Portion size for the food is very generous especially the spring rolls and the Bo Nuong. It's so filled that you'll be working your jaw for a good minute. The food that I had was Com Tam Bi Cha Suon Nuong, Bi Cuon, Bun Nem Nuong Bo Nuong, Bun Chao Tom Nem Nuong, and Banh Hoi Nem Nuong Chao Tom. Everything was very tasty and my party was left satisfied. My favorite would have to be the Com Tam Bi Cha Suon Nuong, and the Bi Cuon. I definitely recommend this restaurant to anyone who wants to ignite their tastebuds with Vietnamese cuisines. It's best with family and friends since the portion is quite large and sharing is always the best way.
google avatar

Karina W.

Yelp
Some of the best pho I've ever had. #37 is the best and their egg rolls are giant and delicious. The staff isn't always the most attentive, but who really cares when the food is so incredible? If you haven't been here before, get your ass to it!
google avatar

Mikey H.

Yelp
It's been a while since I've been back...no strike that, I came here a couple of years ago with my Vietnamese son, who did all the ordering for me which was great! This was a lunch meeting with community partners about the Little Saigon District, and the drive to make it a San Diego cultural designation. I ordered the chicken over vermicelli noodles with egg rolls. I love pouring the fish sauce over everything and just digging in. Service is the same not as attentive as it could be, but it's part of the charm. We did get some work done, but not as quickly as the group would've liked. However, the food was delicious and I'll definitely be back.
google avatar

Tita G.

Yelp
The food is okay, not the best and not the worst but the service however is annoying. I just saw someone order food to-go after I did and got their food before me (it was also a big order)??? When I asked the cashier why my food came out later than theirs he said she ordered Vietnamese food?!?! Am I not in a Vietnamese restaurant?!?! I guess they take care of their kind before other customers

Yelp
My niece was visiting out of state for comic con. She's half Viet and more Americanize but I was surprised to hear that she requested Vietnamese food for dinner. Instead of picking ones on Convoy, we went with City Heights where I grew up. I'm surprised that Saigon is still operating after all these years so they must be serving up something good. The food here is always good and authentic. -Ca Kho To - Which is sautéed catfish in a clay pot. Very few places offer this. This was my bf's childhood dish whereas, it was my first time. This was my niece's favorite and it was her first too. -Hu Tieu Ap Chao Thap Cam - Always my favorite when I come here. It's stir fried flat white noodles with combination meat and veggies. -Com chien thap cam - Fried rice with combination meat and veggie. Really flavorful and different that how I make it at home so it's a plus. -Canh chua ca - Seet and sour tamarind soup with fish, pineapple, tomatoes, we ordered the small size. They put a lot of items with very few broth. I ended up taking this to-go and made broth to add in at home. The parking structure layout is kind of awkward. There's only one entrance and the parking spaces near the one driveway is slanted so when you come in, you can park there. But on the way out, the driveway is not large enough to fit both ways it'll appear as if you are exiting the wrong way based on the slanted parking spaces. So be careful when you exit in case another vehicle comes in without seeing you.

Yelp
Came in on a Thursday afternoon and we were one of four tables there. We sat next to the fish tank which my daughter seemed to enjoy. Service is what you would expect from most typical mom and pop Asian restaurants. Portions here are pretty big. My parents split one dish and still had left overs. I could only finish half of my grilled pork with rice dish. The flavor of the pork was decent, not the best but not the worst I've ever had. Their fish sauce and broth was pretty good. Egg rolls were a generous size. Prices have definitely gone up! Do be aware that they charge for to-go containers now. 50 cents each, and that includes little cups for fish sauce if you want to take that home.

Yelp
zero rating!!! I used to really love the food at this place! Unfortunately, the quality has gone WAAAYYY down since 2020! I went 2 years ago during the pandemic in an effort to support small business. I spent $50 that night and ended up tossing the entire order in the trash. The food was not even worth feeding to a stray canine! Mushy, flat rice noodles soaked in cheap sauce that tasted only of salt and no umami. The orange chicken consisted of dry, hard, stringy, "chicken" drowned in a red, overly sticky and salty-sweet sauce that was not the same orange sauce they used in the past. Even the fortune cookies were stale and pliable rather than fresh and crispy. I recently took a chance on Saigon again. HUGE mistake! The food was just as unappetizing and disgusting as it was 2 years ago. I'm done! Never returning to allow this place to rob me of my hard earned money again!!!

Andres E.

Yelp
This was my second time here, I got the egg rolls and the stir fried chicken rice. The portions are huge! Very shareable! And very good tasting. The dining was big a lot of tables. The service was alright, the guy seemed busy servicing everyone. When you chose to try it, come with a good appetite and with extra time on your sleeve, be patient and just enjoy the flavors of the food

Yelp
Been going here for over a decade & they never miss. Best Vietnamese spot in SD. The owner Victor is always there holding it down.

Nancy M.

Yelp
Really bad service we wait like 35 min and some people got there after us and they service in 5 min I won't come back again it was my first time and the last time

julie k.

Yelp
Terrible service. They first mixed up our orders and didn't serve us for another hour. However, the server then set down a random plate of food that wasn't ours in front of us and spilled it everywhere. When asked if that was the correct pho order he simply said "I don't care" and kept telling us we should know where our food went. Long waiting time and an attitude will make me never come here again.

Angel N.

Yelp
I went here for lunch a few months ago, ordered spring rolls, pennywort drink and a bowl of Pho bo. The spring was stale, and they tried poisoning me with the pho. All of this because I used a credit card to pay for it. The time before that the spring rolls was stale, too. But, I was a forgiving person and thought that it was unintentional- until the last time. Anyways, an hour after leaving, with most of my food not eaten, I started feeling nauseated and my stomach was roaring and hurting. A little bit after that, I threw up the little food I had ate. By the time I arrived home, I was running to the bathroom throwing up and shooting diarrhea. Upset customer.

Yelp
Don't let the underwhelming appearance fool you - the food here is delicious! Sure, you'll have to google most things if you're not familiar with the gigantic menu of Vietnamese cuisine that they offer - but even if you closed your eyes and pointed randomly at the menu... you'll get a gem. I come for the spring rolls and pho and I've left satisfied (with leftovers) every time. BONUS: PLENTY OF PARKING!!
google avatar

Tanya K.

Yelp
Our worst food experience in San Diego so far. We ordered takeout after long, cold and rainy day wanting something warm and comforting. We ordered pho with shrimp and crispy shrimp with rice. When we got home we found out that we did not get a single shrimp with pho!!! Just broth, bean sprouts, thai basil and jalapeño! And crispy shrimp came fully shelled and shrimp have not been deveined!!! This is unacceptable! We dined at many Vietnamese restaurants where shrimp's shell was pre-cut and at least veins were removed. My husband spent 20 minutes just cleaning and deveining shrimp which got cold by the time he was done. We wanted to call the restaurant to complain, but it was already closed. Horrible experience. We won't be returning and don't recommend this restaurant.
google avatar

Yelp
This is a pretty good Viet restaurant for the money. They have a large selection of food ranging from pho to seafood entrees. I ordered the combination pho (first on the pho menu) and it tasted very authentic and delicious. The various meats and broth were all super flavorful and portions were really large! Only downside is that the interior looks like it has not been updated for over 20 years. The air and eatings utensils felt a little dirty. If you have OCD like me and can't stand it being a little dirty, don't come here. If you are fine with that, great place to check out!
