Google
We tried this new Vietnamese restaurant, and it was a great experience. The place was very clean, and the staff were nice, polite, and attentive. We ordered the beef stew with egg noodles and a side of baguette bread. The meat was tender, and the broth had a rich, flavorful taste. The bread was warm and perfectly toasted. We’ll definitely be back to try other dishes like the Pho, Banh Mi sandwiches, and their teas. The décor was pleasant, with lots of plants that gave the space a fresh and cozy atmosphere.

So happy there is a new Vietnamese restaurant from the Saigon region in my neighborhood. First time here and Ive been wanting to try their Bahn Mi combo, it was good! The bread was fresh crunchy outside and soft and sweet inside, their pate was really good, everything home made. Love how they offer satay table side. They also offer free lime/tea water, very nice touch. I chose their egg ice coffee, super creamy and classic viet coffee 👌🏽 i loved it, very satisfying experience. I’ll be back for their bun bo hue and their sizzling breakfast plate. Great prices, comfortable atmosphere and a beautiful hand painted mural.

Let me start with wow! The best Pho I've had so for. Orders the Beef Rib pho and it did not disappoint. My new go to! Will definitely be returning. Stop by and enjoy!

Google
New spot in town and it looks great fresh paint, super clean, and really organized. Service was on point, and our food came out in about 15 minutes. We ordered the Banh Mi and it was really good, nice crunch and great flavor. We also tried the soup and it was delicious. Plus, if you spend $25 or more, you get a free milk tea. Definitely worth checking out!

Arrived at 10am on a Saturday morning. Service was quick my two items came out within 10 minutes. Ordered the Pho Đặc Biệt and the grilled chicken Bánh Mì. Both were fresh, flavorful, and satisfying way better than the spot across the street. Will definitely be recommending this place to friends and family.

Google
As soon as we took a bite of the spring rolls we could tell the shrimp was not fresh and some shell was still on. The bean sprouts all looked wilted. By far the worst shrimp spring rolls I’ve had (honestly impressed by how they can mess up spring rolls that badly). The fried chicken was also very bad, better off getting Pizza Hut next door. The bahn mi bread was good, not the inside parts. The vermicelli noodles were also mediocre. Love Vietnamese food but here, never again.

Google
Great experience today! It was my first time visiting since they open. I stay 0.3 miles away from the restaurant and was excited to try the food. I can say it was flavorful and delicious.

Google
We finally have a great Vietnamese restaurant in town. The service is wonderful, and the ambiance is nice and inviting. So far, we have tried four different dishes, and each of them were delicious. We'll definitely come back for more! The salted cheese coffee is also very good, though for the price, I wish they serve a little bit more.

Yelp
Been meaning to try the new Vietnamese spot in town and I love it so much! - ambiance/service: I went in during late lunch hours on a Friday, wasn't busy at all! Probably had two other tables near me and mostly pickup orders. They were so extremely kind and attentive whenever I needed something! - food: I absolutely love how they give you a carafe of iced jasmine tea!! It was so tasty and brewed to perfection. - rare beef pho (5/5) their broth is soo good! Perfectly seasoned, hearty, huge portions and love the huge green onions in the broth for flavor. Might be my favorite pho in the area! - grilled pork banh mi (4/5) amazing flavors, great pickle on the veggies and enough spice on jalapeños.. just wish the baguette was a bit more flaky/crunchy! - Thai tea (4/5) it was creamy and had almost like a vanilla taste to it? A little bit on the sweeter side compared to what I'm used to, but nonetheless still pretty good! Looking forward to coming back and trying out the other banh mi and dishes!

Yelp
We came for Sunday lunch. Parking lot available. We ordered the skillet and pho. Good service, food was served promptly. The skillet was not sizzling but flavor was good. The pho noodles were a bit too soft for me, I prefer al dente. The slices of beef were a bit for me, but the portion was big.

Yelp
Been here a few times now and have been surprised with the service and food. Overall I've been happy with the food we have tried. The pho is flavorful and not too sweet which I find most places to be. The bun rieu is tasty and the meatballs were good. The bun bo hue was okay; I felt it could have had more flavor but adding the sate on the table helped although then it made it too spicy. The service has been consistently good and the place seems clean. It's also spacious.

Yelp
3.8/5! I tried this place on a Wednesday afternoon with a friend. We both got the pho dac biet and ordered some Vietnamese sandwiches to go. The pho had good flavor and the meat was tender. There was a good amount of noodles to meat. The egg rolls were decent, and the sandwiches were okay. I've had better in the area, so it's probably not my first pick when I'm craving pho, but it wasn't bad either. The restaurant is beautiful inside and has a clean, modern vibe. The service was amazing! Everyone was really friendly and welcoming. We even got free egg rolls since we spent over a certain amount, which was a nice bonus. The only thing I would say is that the prices felt a little high for the quality, especially since it's not really a high-end spot. The place reminded me of Saigon House in San Leandro, and I think if the pricing was more aligned with that, it would make a lot more sense. Overall, it was a nice experience and I'd consider coming back to try other dishes.

My first time here & the food was so good! The service was great as well. Definitely comment back here!

Yelp
Heard there was a new Vietnamese restaurant in town and of course if I was going there, my first dish will be bun bỏ Huế. Interesting choice to open near other Vietnamese restaurants. The BBH was decent, they had pork hock, broth was average, not much spice even with my admittedly low tolerance. The fried chicken wings were disappointing, too much batter around some meat. This place is new so hopefully they improve. At least the workers are friendly. Edit: just saw there is sate for the BBH but it's a bit unusual to me that it's not in there by default.

Yelp
Saigon Yum opened recently 5 months ago where Roti Indian cuisine was. Interior renovated from a buffet setting to a dine in eatery. Many tables for dining in. Large mural on far wall depicting street scene in Vietnam. Offerings: appetizers, pho, banh mi, dyi beef noodle soup, kid's menu, Bo kho, appetizers, vermicelli, smoothies, drinks. Some categories have only 2 options. Pho & banh mi have the most choices. Bites: house combo banh mi (9.50) take out. -quick courteous service at counter. order seamlessly, efficiently processed. Got food in 7ish minutes. -6"+ baguette filled with mostly pork belly, head cheese, pork loin proteins. Not overloaded with daikon, carrot shreds, cilantro, jalepeno slices. -baguette was crunchy fresh. Flavas a nuanced mix of spicy, sweet, savory, & tart notes. 4ish stars (banh mi only): Worthy. quality: good amount of proteins, fresh veggies. Quantity: reasonable pricing... Note: small parking lot. Full during peak hours.

Yelp
I was so excited to try this new spot after hearing lots of good things from friends. For a Tuesday afternoon it was pretty busy! The inside was very modern and decorated for the reason (cute)! We were immediately sat down, served water then ordered. I was surprised just how fast our appetizers came! The banh min was very fresh and flavorful, wings crispy and hot, the shrimp rolls were huge! The pho tasted simple yet delicious just how it should be. However, the noodles were slightly overcooked which is my only feedback. Overall this place is amazing and I will definitely be back!

Yelp
I had such a great experience here! The staff were super friendly and accommodating. We originally planned to dine in but had to switch to takeout last minute, and they made the change so easy. The food came out really fast, too! The space itself is adorable! lots of natural light, cute wall decorations, plenty of plants, and a nice mix of booths and tables. Definitely a place I'd love to come back to for dine-in next time. Food-wise, everything was delicious. I loved that they offer a build-your-own pho perfect for picky pho lovers like me who want specific meats. The broth was light yet flavorful, and they give a generous amount of noodles and meat. We also tried the breakfast skillet with sausage, egg, and a toasted roll. It was so tasty, perfectly seasoned, and not greasy at all. I also ordered a fresh young coconut, and it was the actual coconut! It was super refreshing and sweet, and after I finished drinking it, they cracked it open so I could eat the coconut meat which was such a nice touch. Prices are a bit higher for the area and compared to the city and we get the same amount of food but that's the only thing I could see making it better. Overall, Saigon Yum totally lives up to its name everything was yummy! Can't wait to come back and try more dishes.

Yelp
Ordered Chicken (breast) pho. My spouse ordered the special pho. Our guest ordered the pho with the beef bone. The beef was tender but had too much gristle sheath. The broth was tasty for each bowl of . Bean sprouts, jalapeño slices, lime slices, and a few sprigs of herbs were provided. Service was quick even though the restaurant during a Wednesday dinner hour was busy. The interior is casual and decorated with live plants.

Yelp
I saw the ad for Saigon Yum's grand opening on Facebook and waited about a week to give them time to settle in before trying it out. I came in around 12:30 for lunch and the restaurant was pretty empty aside from what looked like friends of the owner. One of the servers I recognized from Pho Seven down the street, where I usually go for bun bo hue. I originally wanted to try the bun rieu but was told it was not available yet, which confused me since they open at 10am. I took a few minutes to decide and ended up ordering the bun bo hue. The veggie plate that came out first only had bean sprouts, jalapeño, Vietnamese coriander, and a lemon. No mint or any other herbs, which the server confirmed they do not carry. When the soup arrived, the broth immediately tasted different from what I'm used to. The bbh here really missed the mark. The bowl had a lot of bamboo in it, which I have never seen in this dish before, and all the pork pieces were very fatty and chewy. None of the beef cuts like brisket or shank that you normally expect. The only thing I actually enjoyed were the pork meatballs. I'm Vietnamese and had lots of good bbh when I lived in San Jose. So my expectations are kind of high when it comes to Vietnamese food. For $18 it just was not worth it, especially when Pho Seven makes a much better version for $13. Even Joe's Pho across the street serves a better bowl. On top of that, the iced tea they bring to the table was lukewarm with hardly any ice, which was not refreshing at all. Overall the meal was disappointing. The prices are high for what they are serving and the quality just is not there yet. I do not see myself coming back anytime soon.
google avatar

Tony G.

Yelp
I came here during their grand soft opening. I was very optimistic about a new pho place and new possible rival to Joe's across the street. It was their first day, so I definitely gave them some grace. They didn't mention about the grand opening special that was going on, they forgot my drink orders, they gave me the wrong drink and had to remake it, they were missing essential silverware, etc. Growing pains, I get it, and I won't fault them for that especially for their very first day. Service you can fix, but food. Food quality I can't let slide. The vermicelli noodles were very clumpy. The grilled meat (not sure what animal it was) was just under room temperature. I should have complained, but I waited about 40 mins for it and was very hungry. The broken rice combo was a fail. You can see in the photo I posted that the egg meatloaf was undercooked. Like very undercooked, I think they forgot my order and rushed it out. The pork chop was thin, hard, and not flavorful. Honestly, the only thing I liked was the passion fruit smoothie. That was only thing that that tasted solid. As of right now, I'm staying away from Saigon Yum. But I might come back in 6 months and hopefully find their food to be of higher quality. I don't want their business to fail, but my experience was very much not enjoyable.
google avatar

Dan V.

Yelp
Ok spot to come for vietnamese food. Their bun bo hue is a little different. A little more salty forward flavor and also includes some bamboo shoots in there too. Crab ball good flavor but was cold. Noodles cooked just right but portion is lacking some meat. Beef could also be a little more tender but I dont mind a little chewiness. Banh mi ba chi, ok flavor but a little small. Feels like its missing something like pate as its a little plain with just mayo/butter.

Yelp
Very good The food at Saigon Yum was really delicious -- I finished everything! Service is great. I will come back here again!!!

Yelp
For 3 people we ordered - Cha gio (3 pieces, at $3 apiece? as big as my thumb) Pho dac biet, a pho tai, and a kid's pho tai You get a free drink if you spend over $25, got a Thai tea, like something out of a Quickly but still a good perk. Overall it was ok - about 18 bucks for a bowl of pho, man times have changed. The good news is we didn't finish the bowls so could serve as a second meal. The restaurant seems overall clean, and well lit with lots of windows, however the sauces were extremely sticky so we got some of that all over our fingers. Overall, OK.
google avatar

Alicia L.

Yelp
Been here about 4x since they opened about a month or two ago. Their food is solid and they have a good amount of options. Not sure if it's just a promo deal, but if you spend over $25, they will give you a complimentary fruit tea drink. Honestly not a huge fan of their fruit tea drinks just because they're very syrupy and sugary, but it's a nice gesture. I honestly have enjoyed this place more than Joe's Pho across the street so far because the prices are just much more affordable for a solid meal. Service is pleasant and it's a decent sized space to hold patrons. Because they haven't fully had their "grand opening" yet, they still don't have a full menu offering yet for what they already list like the beef rib pho or a few other items that my husband always tries to order, which has been a bit frustrating for him. All in all though, I hope this place is successful! Love that we've got another closer by option other than just Joe's Pho down the street.
google avatar

Rany M.

Yelp
Good experience dining in. Food was delicious and service was good. To go order: make sure you ask for the sauces you need. I ordered bun Bo hue, just wished I had the paste. I assumed it will come with it but I think you have to ask for it.
google avatar

Mario W.

Yelp
No complaints here. I got the pho combo and it was good. The broth had a nice balanced flavor with some sweet onion notes. Service was good and I got a free Thai tea. Place was decorated nice with a lot of plants .
google avatar

Yelp
I was really craving pho on this rainy day and I decided to check out this place since I was in the area. I made it a to go order, so I can't comment too much about service, but everything tasted great in their house special pho. Portion size was good, especially because some places like to skimp out on the take out orders. I would love to come back and try out their bahn mis some time.
google avatar

Henry N.

Yelp
Amazing energy and service during my first visit to Saigon Yum. It has a cozy and trendy vibe similar to Saigon, and the egg noodle beef stew was perfect I also purchased a rice plate a coffee to-go. Excited to try them later I'll definitely be back for more
google avatar

Maria Krizandra E.

Yelp
Visited on the first say of soft opening! Seemed like we were the first customers! Very friendly staff and clean spot. We ordered bo kho and pho special. The bo kho broth was sooo good! Very flavorful. Just wish the beef was a little more tender. Pho broth tasted clean and different from the phos I've had around the area. They offered rice plates and banh mis too- gotta try those next time! We also got a free avocado smoothie which I think is part of their soft opening promo!
google avatar

Sweets N.

Yelp
I purchased a house special sandwich (all the cold cut meats) and I enjoyed it. It didn't have a powerful taste of pate (so if you love a stronger pate flavor profile, expect less), but it wasn't bland either -- just subtle. I think if you have maggi on hand, it'll add a deeper flavor. I personally thought the banh mi sandwich was larger than traditional banh mi's (comparing to a place like Banh Mi Ba Le). It was nice and toasted. I typically stay away from banh mi's at Vietnamese restaurants unless it specifically specializes in it, but I will definitely return to order more. While I did not dine in today, I did enter to pick up my order. It's bright, clean, well staffed and the customers looked to be enjoying their food and time. Since I enjoyed my sandwich, I will return to try other options. I deducted a star because I prefer to order online and while I did see their business on toast tab, it was not connected to their website (or maybe it is and I missed it?), instagram etc., so I didn't feel convinced to use toast tab. Instead, I called and the person on the phone graciously took my order. The pick up time matched with my arrival.

Yelp
There's a new Vietnamese restaurant in town again! The average cost of pho has gone up lately and this place is fairly priced. The broth here is light, not oily, with a fair portion on the larger side. Tastes like the pho you'd make at home. Feels like home. Service is quick during lighter hours and they have a good assortment of fruit tea drinks to try out!
google avatar

emily

Yelp
Went here for dinner very first time. 5 orders and 1 drink later we were stuffed! Restaurant had a beautiful mural against the wall depicting Saigon in the 1950s. Nice touch! Bun bo hue was delicious! It's as authentic as it can get. Flavors were spot on, and it was definitely not watered down. It was spicy and oh so good! Pho ga was flavorful and hearty. Not all Vietnamese restaurants have pennywort and mung bean drink. Saigon yum does! It's good for your skin and delicious, why not? Employees were attentive and so helpful. My father in law asked for a group pic, and they were so kind. Prices were very reasonable! Love this place, they are way better than the 99% of Vietnamese restaurants that order meat from San Jose distributors...gross. This will be our new go to for Vietnamese food!
google avatar

Dennis L.

Yelp
A great new pho place, broth is very tasty, meat is fresh. We've been here three times since opening and it hasn't disappointed. Highly recommend the beef rib pho, with the rib being absolutely ginormous. I also love their bun bo hue. One caveat with the BBH, on the first two visits, it came with the pork leg/foot, but on the most recent visit, it did not. Apparently they are no longer including it with the BBH because people do not like it, so if you do want it, you have to ask for it.

Yelp
Lots of variety of food service was great. The ambulance inside the restaurant was very comforting. Can't wait to try the rest of their menu.

Yelp
So happy there's finally a Cơm Tấm spot in San Leandro! Saigon Yum has quickly become one of our favorite places. The food is super flavorful and tastes just like home-style Vietnamese cooking. The grilled pork with broken rice is amazing, and their drinks are so good, especially the milk teas and fruit teas. The decor is beautiful and it honestly reminds me of a cozy coffee shop in Ho Chi Minh City, with such warm, inviting vibes. If you've been craving authentic Vietnamese comfort food and a nice spot to relax, you definitely need to come check out Saigon Yum!
google avatar

Tiffany T.

Yelp
Saigon Yum! The newest Vietnamese restaurant in town. Everything has been amazing and I've been coming back a few times already! The food reminds me so much of Vietnam as someone who is Vietnamese. I would recommend the Combination Pho and the salted cheese Viet coffee. The service is amazing as well! Everyone has been nice and welcoming. There's also a lot of parking space in the plaza and the restaurant is very spacious inside as well. Next time I'll take pictures but they'll see me, my partner, and my family as new regulars here!
google avatar

Yelp
What can I say. I've been here three times this month. Pho is on point. All ingredients are fresh and to top it off the meat is tender. Broth has a deep rich taste. The bành mì with crispy pork is my wife's absolute favorite. Service is excellent and I never feel like I have to flag down my server. Attentive and customer driven folks. Come check out their delicious menu.

Yelp
I went to Saigon Yum and had had pan-fried bread and a mung bean-pennywort drink, both were really delicious! The female staff who helped recommend the dishes was very kind, friendly, and welcoming. She even came to open the door for me with a big bright smile. I forgot to ask for her name, but she was wearing a green hoodie and glasses. Please send my thanks to her, I truly appreciate her great service! I'll definitely come back again!

Yelp
Drove by a few times and finally decided to try it wayyyyyyyy better than pho an hoa and Joe's pho. Left the gym with a huge hunger and Saigon yum definitely hit the spot. Service was A1 and Ambience was great come give it a try you won't regret it

Yelp
I was very pleased with my grilled chicken sandwich from "Saigon Yum". The bread has a crunchy outside, while the inside is soft and delicious. Vegetables are fresh, chicken is tender and the dressing is a delicate vinaigrette. The service is fast and efficient. The ambiance is somewhat quiet depending on how busy it is. It's my go to place for delicious sandwiches. Terrie W.

Yelp
Today my family and I decided to get some pho on a cold night. We seen this spot driving home the other day. The inside is really nice and spacious with lots of tables. The waitress was really nice and helpful with our order. My wife got the vermicelli it was really good and fresh with lots of flavor. My cousin and I got the special pho and it was really good it impressed us to be honest the broth was really rich with flavor, lots of meat and noodles. My son got the meatball soup with side of chicken wings, he ate everything. The owner and his family was all working and helping each other. Its a really family friendly place. I can tell from talking to that man, that he enjoys what he does. That food was made with love. We didn't take pictures we ate the food to fast to take pictures.

Yelp
Food and service was great!! First time here definitely coming back for more. Didn't take before and after pic lol but definitely no pic to take for the after. Super friendly and family vibe!!

Yelp
Nice new - vietnamese Restaurant I enjoyed the dry noodle here. The sauce of dry noodle tastes like Vietnam, and the noodle is not overcook- mix with the noodle sauce perfectly. They also have the salt coffee that's not strong or too sweet. It's perfect balance - 100% recommend. I did try the fruit drink- it super good. My wife loves it- forgot to take pictures. This place is worth trying. I will be back for "Bo Kho" and other foods and drink in menu.

Sareena D.

Yelp
I took a friend there for lunch today as a thank you. I didn't know what to expect. The waiter was a really sweet boy I forgot his name but he was so attentive and kind. I wanted to stick to the vermicelli but I decided to try something new. I got the beef stew with rice noodles. The beef was sooooo tender and the broth was delicious. My friend got the sparerib pho. Again the beef was falling off how bone and it was seasoned so well. I have found a new spot for Vietnamese soup in this cold weather! The only complaint is I couldn't buy extra broth to take home separately and add into my soup. But no biggie! I will be back!

Lori B.

Yelp
I went to this new restaurant on a whim, and it's easily one of the greatest bowls of pho I've ever tasted. The soup was rich, savory, and well-balanced, you could tell it had been carefully cooked for hours. The noodles were fresh and well-cooked and the meat was tender and delicious.

Bamboo H.

Yelp
So, I've been wanting to give this place a review since the first week they opened. I really really really wanted to like this place because I thought it would be competitive to Joe's Pho; however, it is sad to say I was very disappointed. I ordered the bun bo hue and the hubby ordered the regular pho and both soups were extremely lacking flavor - it was basically watered down. The meat was way too fatty and too chewy to say the least. We also ordered spring rolls and it just tasted really old, like it had been made in the morning and was just barely served at the end of the day. I would have to say the customer service was good, friendly staff and they mean well. I just would never go back and whenever I drive by the place, it's usually empty .

Maria G.

Yelp
I always have a good time here they are usually very attentive and the food is always really good. They don't mind when we move around tables sometimes because of the sun hitting us or anything else. Usually they have some nostalgic music playing which is nice. Only complaint the fresh plants they have in the dining room are very beautiful and healthy they attract some little bugs flying in the air (nats ) which then head toward you with your food usually not more than one or two.
google avatar

Yelp
I love their Beef Banh mi sandwIch and their raw beef pho soup and their cutesy mini chicken wings and still going to try other rice plate dishes

Yelp
When we arrived, the staff was super friendly and helpful in selecting choices. We tried the bahn mi and pho which was fresh and flavorful. The price was reasonable and we will come again :)

Yelp
The waiters are friendly, and the decor is nice. The prices are reasonable, but the portions are smaller. However, the taste is good, and I'll definitely come back.

Yelp
Ordered sandwiches to-go and found them very tasty and quality ingredients. Spacious, attractive, and clean dining area and service very friendly and helpful. A number of people dining mid-morning. I will return for in-dining to dine on their various hot dishes. Check it out.

Yelp
This is the new spot. Food AND drinks were amazing Service was amazing We ordered so much food it came out super fast. The food itself taste like they put love into it haha I super highly recommend you make a stop here !!! I wish I would've gotten a picture but was too focused on eating lol
