Amsterdam 750: All the Events, Parties and Activities Happening in the Dutch Capital in 2025

Taking place from August 20-24, 2025, this huge maritime event fills the IJ and the central docks with a massive fleet of tall ships and special vessels from all over the world, creating a wondrous waterfront view that only comes around once every five years and, for the anniversary edition, is expected to be especially spectacular as it celebrates Amsterdam’s seafaring heritage. - Derek Robertson

We attended Sail Amsterdam 2025, and what an unforgettable experience it was. We saw so many ships old and new, small and large, from different countries. One highlight was exploring the largest ship in the world, which came all the way from Peru, South America—absolutely amazing! We also enjoyed visiting the beautiful ship from Oman 🇴🇲, which was another memorable moment of the event.

This year's SAIL Amsterdam 2025 proved to be a spectacular event that exceeded all expectations. I was incredibly impressed by the sheer scale and organization of the festival. It's a true celebration of water and sailing that brought together crowds of people fascinated by the majesty of these powerful vessels. The number of attendees was simply staggering, and the atmosphere created by the Dutch was electric. You could feel the positive energy and joy everywhere, which made me feel like part of a massive, global event. This experience proved that the people of Amsterdam really know how to have a good time. What made the biggest impression on me was the fleet of ships. They arrived from the furthest corners of the world, creating a breathtaking sight. Their monumental silhouettes against the backdrop of Amsterdam's canals are something you can never forget. A particularly magical moment was the beautiful sunset, which painted the sky in orange and pink hues, and its reflection on the surface of the water added a surreal charm to the whole scene. The event's organization was top-notch. Everything was planned down to the last detail, and the numerous attractions, including the evening fireworks display, ensured there was no room for boredom. What's more, the staff was incredibly helpful and friendly, which made me feel comfortable and safe the entire time. SAIL Amsterdam 2025 is an experience that cannot be fully described in words. It's a symphony of sounds, colors, and emotions that will stay in my memory for a long time. I highly recommend everyone to take part in this incredible festival in the future 💜

This was amazing experience and the boats was well worth it. The overall experience was a different outcome we had a evening on the water as the boats and ships come in on opening night but the food was shocking for the price and this just seemed to be the theme of the event was to charge you over the top. The event great but the amenities was lacking not enough toilets but €1.50 each time you wanted to go bit rich I think. The merchandise was good quality but run out halfway through Thursday and through Friday we was lucky to have the last two hoodies. Alot of the time we found the food stalls only serving half the options or again was closed or out of food. It was busy everyday and not the first time it has been put on so abit let down on this score. Nothing open at all lunch time on the Thursday for food at midday ?

Always great to visit there, many different ships, boats, is a feast to be there, is great, to see it with so many different people, crowded but safe, you need to be there to see and enjoy. So come now or in 5 years

Biggest scam. Max 25 people turned into 120 on a boat. Boat was 30 min late for picking us up as well. Charged €360 for a “premium experience”. Was the worst most expensive experience ever. And the bar shut down at the lounge the moment we got back from the boat.

Very bad crowd management ;). You want to walk the other side and they just close the bridge.
